Chocolate Beauty Gifts for Easter

Easter is the best excuse there is to eat chocolate for breakfast (along with Christmas) and alongside munching away on your Easter egg, there is a whole host of other chocolatey goodness to be enjoyed.

Hotel Chocolat whom are well known for their chocolate range, also have a beauty section that is worthy of drooling over. This Quilesse Body Scrub is described as being uplifting, enlivening, invigorating – the energising scent of our cocoa groves at sunrise.

Bomb Cosmetics Ballotin Gift Set is a must for any chocolate lover who loves to chill out and relax in the bath. The set contains six luxuriously hand crafted bath products all with a chocolate theme:
  • Vanilla Bath Creamer
  • Chocolate Orange Bath Creamer
  • Coffee Mocha Bath Meltz
  • Chocolate Bath Mallow
  • Double Choc Chip Bath Gem
  • Chocolate Buttercup
All containing natural Cocoa Butter and essential oils.

Lush has one of my favourite facemasks - Cupcake - Using Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, it works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt, grime and impurities to give your skin a deep cleanse. The use of fresh mint also stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise.

Yankee Candle have some of the most interesting scents that I have come across. I am a huge candle fan and from the new Cafe Culture collection from Yankee Candle, inspired by relaxing city breaks is Cappucino Truffle. Described as being a decadent pairing of bold, roasted coffee and luscious, velvety chocolate.

Too Faced - One of my favourite palettes is the Too Faced Chocolate Palette which I use all the time.  Now with Semi-Sweet on the horizon, it too would make a perfect Easter Gift.  Described as having 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused matte and shimmer shades of warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate hues and a pop of sugared blueberry, it sounds totally divine. Add to the Too Faced raving of products comes the Milk Chocolate Bronzer, which I have fallen back in love with and have been using daily, it smells absolutely amazing and works really well with my skin tone too.

Flamingo Candles caught my attention during the week with their Scent Eggs - Scent Eggs are small, oval-shaped eggs which are made from natural soy wax, etched with Florrie the flamingo and come in a variety of simple fragrances. They’re designed to be mixed up, to create wild and wonderful scent combinations!  Place three or four Scent Eggs in an oil/fragrance burner, along with a tealight and wait for the gorgeous aroma to fill the room. Scent Eggs make the perfect gift, packaged in a glass jar with our lovely flamingo lid.

Essie - One of my favourite nail polish brands is Essie and whilst brown nail polish wouldn't be my personal choice, one called Chocolate Cakes certainly grabbed my attention.

What will you be hoping for this Easter?

The BBB The Dream Box

When I heard about The Dream Box from Jane, a.k.a The British Beauty Blogger, I knew I was going to buy it.  The last one, which you can see HERE was so fabulous and such good value for money, I was gutted to have missed the first.

Anyway, this collaboration has been done with Latest in Beauty and 15 products have been selected with a value of over £100 and it is literally jammed packed full.  I ordered mine and it arrived within 2 days which is amazingly quick and here are my contents. The Dream box cost £19.95 including P&P.

So in my box I got:

Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 which is called Rose Tender, I am looking forward to trying this properly rather than just swatching it like I do everytime I go into Boots.  RRP £6.99

Bee Good Honey & Wild Water Mint Cleansing Water - This is the product that really intrigued me and one I cannot wait to use.  It says it is a 3-in-1 Cleansing Water which dissolves make-up, cleanses and tones the skin. I am a new fan to this brand and love the fact they donate some of their profits to help support British Bees.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water - A product I cannot rave about enough and have reviewed HERE.  This is 50ml size can and is perfect for putting in your handbag.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Kisses - I have never used a Charlotte Tilbury product, though I have read a lot about them on other peoples blogs.  These little envelopes include a lipstick kiss and I am quite taken with the whole idea, they are a bit like a perfume sample, but in lipstick form and it gives you the chance to try it before you buy it in many respects, how clever!!  My samples are called 'So Marilyn'.

Elemis Treat Your Feet Foot Cream - Everyone needs a decent foot cream, even people like me who hate feet!  This cream is a soothing foot cream which uses lemon and eucalyptus to moisturise and soothe.

Essie Nail Polish - Who doesn't love an Essie Nail Polish?  There was no insight as to which shade anyone would get and I was delighted with the one I got which is a very lovely pink called 'Style Hunter', one I haven't got and one I am pleased to add to my collection.

Kniepp Herbal Bath - I got the Mandarin scented one and I have already started using it and can already tell you that it is fantastic and it definitely does help with de-stressing after what has been a frantic few weeks for me.

Janjira Hand Wash - Not a brand I have ever come across though I am pleased I have because this Argan Oil version that was in my box smells amazing and given its size, is really handy for using in hand luggage for weekends away.

Roger and Gallet Gingembre Rouge which I absolutely love the scent of.  It is one of those scents which is perfect for a summer day as it includes both mandarin and pomegranate as well as candied ginger and definitely something I would purchase.

L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Lotion - This is a softening lotion for the skin which is to be used after cleasing but before moisturising and it is said to leave your skin feeling softer and looking brighter.  Not somethign I have ever used but looking forward to doing so.

BENEFIT it's potent Eye Cream - I have had my eye on this for a while now, I have read quite a lot of reviews about it, some good, some bad and quite a few indifferent, so I wanted to see what it was like for myself.  It contains a peptide complex that helps to restore elasticity and firmess around the eyes as well as tackling those dark circles

Ren Satin BB Cream - I love Ren products and I love BB Creams, so hopefully the two things combined will give me a fabulous product.  This is a silicone free formula which is said to leave a satin finish and it also contains anti-ageing ingredients as well as SPF15.

Lola Kabuki Brush - Chuffed to have this in my box as I cannot find the one I had and I can't stand applying bronzer or blush with anything other than a Kabuki brush.  This one is small enough to fit into my make-up to carry around on a day to day basis and the bristles are really lovely and soft.

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara - This product is one of those that seems to be being talked about everywhere and I cannot wait to try it.  I love mascara, if I had to choose one make-up item I wouldn't leave the house without, it would be mascara.  This one is said to be collagen infused to give you thick, dark lashes and it is also paraben free!

The final item comes from Make-up Revolution, yes you have all heard of them and probably own most of the products currently available and I have to admit, my wishlist grows by the day.  This is the first item I have owned from Make-up Revolution and it is called the 'Awesome Eyeshadow and Eyebrow Palette - Sticks and Stones'. This palette has 14 super intense shades with 2 eyebrow powders and probably wouldn't have been the palette I would have chosen because I tend to favour neutral shades because I find them much easier to work with and I feel more comfortable wearing them.

Did you get the box? If so link me in the comments below so I can see what you got inside your box.
If you didn't get the box, which product do you most like the look of?

Biosculpture Spa Range Nail Care

One of my goals for 2014 was to to take better care of my nails because they have become quite weak and brittle not to mention prone to peeling and snapping which is really annoying when you finally manage to get your nails to a length you are happy with.

Apparently the cold weather can be harsh on your nails because the change in weather means they have to as the change in continually adapt to dealing with either the freezing cold outside or the warm centrally heated indoor environment much like your skin which can also turn dry, flaky and be in need of a little more TLC.  The constant cold and change in temperature can cause your nails to weaken, crack and split easier, more so in the winter because dry air destroys keratin, the protein that keeps them strong and flexible.

Biosculpture have just introduced a new Spa Range of manicure and pedicure products and I have been lucky enough to try them. I have the handcream, Executive Base, Cuticle Oil and Top Coat. However there are quite a few more products within the range and you can go along to your nearest salon to have the products used and manicures start from £25 please visit for further information and to find your nearest salon.

Described as:
Bio Sculpture supports healthy nail care as the treatments nourish and protect the natural nail underneath. An application keeps nails well conditioned throughout use whilst ensuring manicures and pedicures are long lasting and maintenance free. Vitamin Dose and Executive Base, infused with vitamins & essential oils, are products used in the treatment preparation in order to nurture nails and protect nails. No primers or bonders are used that might de-hydrate or damage the natural nail; and unlike other treatments, the natural nail is not buffed prior to application, again ensuring maximum protection is maintained.

The Cuticle Oil which is enriched with Vitamin E, helps to re-hydrate cuticles and it is formulated with Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil and Avocado Oil. This products retails for £5.40.  The brush within this oil makes application so much easier to do and once on the nail bed it feels absolutely lovely and only takes a few minutes to sink in.  If like me you apply a little too much, you can of course rub it into your entire nail for a extra bit of TLC.

Executive Base which is described as being multifunctional strengthening base which compresses the nail keratin to strengthen soft, weak nails.   This product retails for £8.00.  Again the brush within this base coat makes application really easy because the brush fans out across the nail.  Once applied, it takes less than a minute to dry and then you can apply your nail polish.  What I have found by using this is that my nail polish glides onto the nail so much easier.

The final product I have been using is the Top Coat.  I have found that this is a really fast drying top coat which leaves your nails with a lovely gloss finish as you can see from the photos below, I have been wearing Essie Luxedo for the last week and it has yet to chip, so I am really impressed with this top coat.

I think you can tell that I am really impressed with these nail products, more so given the extra length of time I have been able to wear my favourite Essie nail polish. My nails are less brittle though not quite yet near perfect, but my cuticles do look so much better and are in a far better condition now than before I used the cuticle oil.

For me these are a worthy investment and something I am going to continue to use. Hopefully in a few months time my nails will stop being brittle and weak and become the strong nails they once were.

Nail Varnish Haul...

I randomly found myself in Superdrug, as you do, looking for a pale pink nail varnish, the one I had was quite old and crusty and in need of replacing.  Anyway, as soon as I walked into Superdrug my eyes lit up:

Essie Shelves in Superdrug

A brand new Essie section that hadnt been there a week before!  So naturally I had to look and before I realised I had been stood there for a whole hour trying the different pinks out to decide which ones I liked best.

Then I moved along to the Rimmel section and NYC and put a few more varnishes into my basket and 7 varnishes later....

this is my Nail Varnish Haul...

My Nail Varnish Haul

So quite a few different types of varnishes in my collection now and the only one I have worn is Essie Delicacy which you can see below:

Essie Delicacy

Excuse the state of my nails... but hopefully you can see that it isn't too pink and instead adds a pearl-esque colour to my nails, which I really quite like.  I wasn't too sure to start with, but it has grown on me over the last few days and it hasnt chipped either which I am really impressed with.

What do you think to my haul?
