Cosrx Advanced Snail Collection

The Cosrx Advanced Snail Collection* is definitely one to catch my attention and I absolutely love Korean skincare, so as a brand, Cosrx is one which appealed to me instantly. Having tried the Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleanser, I was keen to try more from the brand.

If you are not familiar with the brand, COSRX is a Multi-award-winning brand made famous by beauty and cosmetic experts worldwide. For over a decade MR RX studied peoples skin types and their needs in the beauty industry and it is his experience that he believed cosmetics should look for meanings more than just beauty. So, collecting what customers need and want regarding their skin types and concerns finally establishing Cosmetics + RX = COSRX was founded.

The first of the two products within this range is the COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream which is said to contain 92% snail secretion filtrate is a gel moisturiser which helps to repair your skin.

Hyaluronic Acid is also an ingredient within this rich gel cream and not only is it soothing on the skin, but it is also designed to heal, calm, regenerates and repair the skin. The cream is also formulated to prevent breakouts and maintain skin elasticity, as well as leaving skin nourished, hydrated and healthy.

This is quite a rich gel cream and it is quite gloopy when removed from the tub and you really only need such a small amount of this at any time. On the skin, the gel quickly turns to a more watery substance and absorbs into the skin really quickly.  Once it has absorbed, my skin feels really hydrated and refreshed.  This cream is priced around £27 for 100g.

The second product within this range is the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and again, as with the product above, this Essence is comprised 96% of skin friendly snail secretion filtrate that is effective at repairing damaged skin, improving skin elasticity and maintaining hydration levels.

An Essence is a must-have product in many Korean skincare routines and to use it within yours, it is best to be used after a double cleanse and then toning. To use, you only need to apply a small amount on to the skin, I tend to focus on areas of my face which have dry patches and I then pat until absorbed and then apply your moisturiser.

This Essence is really lightweight, it isn't oily or tacky and you need just two pumps at most to cover your entire face or, to use as I do, one pump is more than enough.  I love having an Essence within my skincare routine, especially if my skin is feeling dehydrated.

Again available from Feelunique, this Essence is priced around £24.

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Hangover Setting Spray

Over the past few weeks, I have loved trying out these new products from Too Faced Cosmetics, I am so used to playing with the makeup side of the brand that the skincare took me by surprise, especially the Major Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. The product I have used a lot of before the lockdown came was the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Hangover Setting Spray which is described as being a weightless 3-in-1 coconut water and watermelon extract infused mist that primes, sets and refreshes.

I absolutely love how this smells, it is very much a fresh scent rather than a synthetic one, which I adore.  I am a huge fan of the Too Faced Peach Mist Mattifying Setting Spray, but this one takes its place as my favourite.

As a Primer and Setting it Spray, it is weightless and when spritzed you can barely feel it hitting the skin, the mist is so fine. Once on the skin, it is not sticky or tacky and it doesn't have a chemical scent that lingers, an issue I have found with some setting sprays. It hydrates the skin and doesn't leave mine feeling dry after using, it sets makeup and even on warm sunny days, this spray is really refreshing too.  I am not a huge fan of thick, full coverage foundations, I much prefer to have lighter coverage and even when using a BB Cream or tinted moisturiser, this setting spray is a dream to use.

It is available through all the usual stockists such as Too Faced and Boots* and is priced around £26

Cocosolis Collagen Booster Dry Oil

I was introduced to Cocosolis by the lovely Tracey over at Fighting Fifty and if she raves about a product, you know it is a good one! The lovely people behind the brand kindly send me the Cocosolis Collagen Booster Dry Oil to try and I can see why Tracey is such a fan.

Cocosolis Collagen Booster Dry Oil
The team behind Cocosolis believe that only genuinely healthy, organic and completely natural products should be developed and to that end, each ingredient is carefully, based on where it comes from, how it is grown, how it is harvested and how it is processed. All of the oils are sourced from all over the world and are used within the products are cold-pressed from raw seeds and nuts.

I was very kindly gifted the Cocosolis Collagen Booster Dry Oil (£27) which is described as being a natural collagen booster with an anti-age effect for both your face and body. The product is a mixture of the 8 precious oils of exotic and superfruits and a special natural active ingredient that stimulates the production of collagen in the skin alongside the following:
  • Pomegranate oil - This oil not only stimulates the production of collagen and elastin – which tightens and smoothes the skin but also accelerates the regeneration of tissues, improves blood circulation and relieves sunburn. Pomegranate oil also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to fight wrinkles and fine lines by hydrating the skin.
  • Passion Fruit - With its high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants it is the ideal moisturiser for all types of skin, and is said to work especially well for oily skin because of its anti-clogging and moisturising action. Passion Fruit also protects, rejuvenates and balances the skin.
  • Goji Berry - This helps to level the skin’s texture, maintain moisture and it also makes the skin feel soft and smooth. It contains 18 amino acids, 21 micronutrients, vitamin A, B-complex, C and E, and is an excellent antioxidant, which nourishes and moisturises the skin.
  • Rosehip Oil - Helps to regenerate and smooth the skin and removes scars. Known for its moisturising properties which penetrate the skin helping to rebalance.
  • Cocoa Butter - Known for its moisturising and nourishing properties and it helps to rehydrate the skin.
  • Hemp Seeds - These seeds help to combat dry skin and the Vitamin E in the seeds helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite. The zinc it contains helps repair damaged tissue, and magnesium, which passes through the lower layers of the skin, literally heals damaged cells.
  • Coconut Oil - Again used for its ability to moisturise and nourish the skin because it is full of essential fatty acids, vitamin E and vitamin K.
  • Sesame oil - Used because of its ability to detoxify, moisturise and soothe the skin. It also has a high content of Omega 6 fatty acids and oleic and linoleic acids, sesame oil softens and nourishes the skin and improves its elasticity.
What I love about this dry oil is that it is just that, dry. On the skin it absorbs really quickly, it is not at all greasy, it doesn't leave a film on the skin, in fact, the only reason you know it was there, other than having super smooth skin there is this wonderful scent of fruits that lingers for a good while after application.  As a dry oil, you can apply this and get dressed without the fear of staining your clothes or, if like me, it is something you use in an evening, it won't stain those bedsheets either.

This Cocosolis Collagen Booster Dry Oil retails for £27 and can be found from Cocosolis.
