Tweezerman Mini Brow Rescue Kit Review

Having a really busy job as well as blogging means I am sometimes on the go from work, to PR Events and back home or it can be a Breakfast event and then on to work. Being on the go, I like to ensure that I keep a collection of 'on-the-go' products with me at all time, either on my desk or in my handbag.

From Tweezerman we have this Mini Brow Rescue Kit* (£26) which is described as being the kit that ensures your "brows will look perfect anytime, anywhere with this mini essentials kit. Fits any makeup bag or purse for quick on-the-go touchups. You'll never be stranded with less than perfect arches".
Tweezerman Mini Brow Rescue Kit Review

Tweezerman Mini Brow Rescue Kit Case
A brand that needs no introduction, Tweezerman has been a cult name across the beauty sphere for well over 35 years and are best known for their Tweezers, which I am sure most of you will have had or own.

In my handbag makeup kit I always ensure I have a pair of tweezers and a brow product, but as they are always full-sized, it is amazing to find something that is a little more on-the-go friendly and that it comes safely packaged and protected in a travel case. Also within the kit you will find:
  • Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezer - I am a huge fan of Tweezerman Tweezers and have about 5 pairs in various bags but within this kit you get a pink mini Slant Tweezer which features the same perfectly aligned hand-finished tips as a full-sized pair of tweezers.
  • Tweezerman Mini Brow mousse - This is ideal for getting a beautifully shaped brow line to stay put all day or for taming disobedient unruly brows.  I love that there is a mini brow mousse and it works incredibly well at ensuring the brow remains tamed and in place.
  • Tweezerman Mini Brow Brush - I always have extra Spoolies in my bag, but this one is perfect for on the go.  This spiral brush features thick, nylon bristles ideal for shaping and brushing the brows.
  • Tweezerman Mini Eyenhance Brow Highlighter - This brow pencil is described as having a long-wearing formula and is suitable for all skin tones.

Putting these four products together, you do get a really good on the go kit and it has everything you need to keep your brows looking good.
Tweezerman Mini Brow Rescue Kit Contents
This kit retails for £26 and is available via Tweezerman, Lookfantastic, Beauty Expert, Fabled and many more sites. For me, it is the perfect travel companion and it is already in my case for when I am next away from home.

SVR Sun Secure Range

Now we have had the Summer Solstice and are halfway through the year and finally, it looks as though Summer has arrived - hurrah! We all know that we should wear SPF all year round and it still horrifies me that so many people think that it is just an added extra when the sunshine is out, that in itself is a whole blog post on its own.  Today, I am sharing the SVR Laboratoire Dermatlogique Sun Secure range which is their first protection for sensitive skin that targets all types of rays: UVB, UVA, Visible Light and Infrared.

SVR Sun Secure Range
I am a huge fan of the brand SVR Laboratoire and have featured them quite a few times on my blog with the Hydracid C50 Masque Eclat and a trio of SVR Micellar waters. As a brand, SVR was born in 1962 by the visionary pharmacists Simone and Robert Véret whose key aim was to create "BEAUTIFUL SKIN". Over the years, their son and later their grandson transformed this small French family brand into a true star in the field of dermo-cosmetics.

The first product from this collection is the Invisible Finish Dry Touch Fluid SPF50+. This is described as being a dry touch lotion that leaves a matt, non-greasy and non-sticky finish on the skin.  I have mentioned a few times on my blog now that the one issue I have with sunscreen is how it is often incredibly thick and makes the skin just feel caked in cream and suffocated.
SVR Sun Secure Invisible Finish Dry Touch Fluid SPF50+
This fluid has a lightweight texture which instantly absorbs into the skin and it is water, sweat, and rub-resistant giving optimal protection. This face care is said to be suitable for the sun-hypersensitive skin of the whole family and this includes babies, children, adults. It has a really light but delicate summery fragrance rather than that traditional suncream scent.

The second product is the Invisible Hydrating Milk SPF50+ and if you like a product that just melts onto and then into the skin leaving it moisturised whilst protected, then this product will tick those boxes for you.
SVR Sun Secure Invisible Hydrating Milk SPF50+

This lotion has a really lovely milky texture, which is neither heavy or greasy when applied to the skin. On contact, it melts immediately and leaves behind no trace it was there.  I often find that sunscreen leaves a tacky feeling on the skin and this one does not, there is also no sign of the white traces of cream on the skin which you often get with sunscreen and it is sweat and rub resistant for lasting protection.  This Milky Lotion is quite different to any others that I have tried, in that you can also apply it to wet skin and again, it leaves no white trace on the skin.

The third product within the collection is the Silky-Finish Dry Oil SPF50+ is described as being a high protection silky dry-touch oil that also promotes a luminous, even tan.  This milky mist, which gives a silky finish is suitable for the face and body of those with sensitive skin.
SVR Sun Secure Silky-Finish Dry Oil
Formulated for use on both the face and the body, you can also use this oil on the hair. Interestingly enough, I asked a few of my friends which brand of sun protection they used on their hair and shockingly, every single one of them looked at me as though I had committed a crime, not a single one of them had ever given it a moments thought!  Have you?

Again, a product that can be used on wet or dry skin, the milky oil mist with its anti-dryness, non-sticky texture not only nourishes the skin, but it does so without leaving a greasy film on the skin.

The fourth product has become my favourite of the collection so far and quite unexpectedly so. The SVR Invisible Fresh Mist SPF50+ is described as being the ultimate cool-down for all skin types.
SVR Sun Secure Invisible Fresh Mist SPF50+
Light and totally invisible when spritzed onto the skin, you get an immediate hit of freshness and cooling, a wonderful sensation when you have been out and about in the hot sunshine.  As it is spritzed, on the skin, it leaves a veil of protection and again one that isn't sticky, tacky or greasy to the touch. Again, I love the delicate summer scent the products within this collection have and to me, it is more evident within this mist than it is within any other product in the range.

Again, the mist can be applied to wet skin and it is water, sweat and rub-resistant too.

Finally from the collection we have the SVR After Sun Milk and it is described as being a soothing, moisturising and restorative treatment that is suitable for the warm skin of the whole family.
SVR Sun Secure After Sun Milk
After Sun isn't a product I tend to buy and use, the issue for me is usually the texture and I instead stick to Aloe Vera or, if I do manage to burn, Calamine Lotion to soothe my skin after a warm shower. From SVR, we have a product that is not only hydrating but cooling on the skin.  It has what is referred to as being a unique, micro-aerated texture that melts into skin without feeling greasy or sticky, so, once it has been applied, you can get dressed quickly and go about your day. Providing soothing, hydrating and repairing care, it contains emollient and repairing ingredients, including moisturising Coconut Oil to leave skin feeling silky and comforted. It effectively rehydrates and soothes sensations of overheating after sun exposure.

Infused with ultra-fine pearlescent particles and a summery scent to help enhance the look of your tan while leaving skin feeling soft. For the past week, I have left this after sun in the fridge and applied it once I have got home and it feels absolutely divine on the skin.

All of these products from SVR have what is called the SVR's Integral Secure Technology, a triple-action formula which provides protection against oxidative damage from UVA, UVB, visible light and infrared light.

Available from Lookfantastic*, Feelunique and Beauty Expert*, if you haven't yet found a brand of sun care that you like, then this is one to absolutely try.  Prices start around £15.

Bowe Organics Lash Oil and Lip Rescue Balm Review

I love discovering new brands, especially the ones you don't see plastered all over your social media, though most of the time they deserve to be.  Bowe Organics is one of those brands, founded by Diane Bowe, a freelance hairdresser living in London.  She stumbled into the world of Organic beauty when she started to use organic colours and products for her hairdressing back in 2012. This is where her passion fuelled journey began.

I was kindly sent two items from the collection which includes a Lash Oil and a Lip Rescue Balm and both products are Vegan, cruelty-free and packed full of amazing ingredients.
Bowe Organics Lash Oil and Lip Rescue Balm Review
The Lash Oil (£19.99) is described as being for everyone who wants beautiful hydrated lashes and I love that it comes packaged inside a bottle which features a pipette to ensure the application is really easy. I have used quite a few lash products over the years and whilst one or two have irritated my eyes, this one hasn't at all.

Using the pipette, the idea is that you apply one or two drops to your fingertips and then gently massage into clean, dry eyelashes taking care not to get into the eyes. Diane claims that it works best when applied on an evening before bedtime.
Bowe Organics Lash Oil
Bowe Organics Lash Oil pipette
Packed with a whole host of luxury ingredients which includes organic castor oil which can help thicken and lengthen lashes, Jojoba Oil which penetrates deep into the follicle and because there is a high content of vitamins A, D and E it is extremely hydrating. Also included is:
  • Vitamin E Oil which is high in antioxidants and works to protect
  • Rosehip Oil which is rich in Omega 6 fatty acid and Vitamin A which helps to replenish. It is also easily absorbed and incredibly lightweight.
As this is an oil, you only need a maximum of two drops for both sets of lashes and it is non-greasy and absorbs much quicker than I had expected it too and it can also be used on your brows too.

The Lip Rescue Balm (£6) is packaged inside this handy pot and is described as being incredibly hydrating for the lips.  Each balm is hand poured rather than being mass produced, so it might not always look perfect when you open it.

Bowe Organics Lip Rescue Balm Review
The Lip Rescue Balm is solid inside the pot, but as soon as you rub your finger over the top, it melts on contact. Once on the lips, there is no greasy, sticky or tacky feeling, just instant moisture and hydration.

Again, the balm is packed some amazing ingredients and they include Raspberry Seed Oil which is known for its anti-ageing properties, Almond Oil which helps to rejuvenate and Shea and Cocoa Butter which are both known for their super hydrating properties. Also included is Almond Oil which acts as an emollient, skin soother and softener.

I am really liking getting to know both of these products, I have been using the Lash Oil for a good 6 weeks now and what I have noticed is less breakage when I use mascara, so over the next few weeks, I am hoping to see other notable differences.  The lip balm is perfect for dry, chapped lips and because of the size of the pot, it is perfect for having in your bag.

Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara Review

I am obsessed with Mascara, perhaps my favourite item of makeup to wear and it is one of the few items I never leave the house without, plus there is always mascara on my desk, in my bag, on my bedside table and in each one of my makeup bags too.
Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara Review
Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara Review
Fairydrops is a brand of mascara I have read a lot about, so when Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara arrived, I was really excited to give it a try. Described as being 'Jet Black with an ultra-glossy finish' and has been referred to as the 'push up bra for lashes. Quite the claims I know, but curiosity got the cat and after using it for almost 6 months, am I ready to re-purchase? Read on.

Mascara is one of those products that needs to be just right for what you want and need. Whether you are a contact lens wearer, glasses wearer, have long eyelashes, short eyelashes or sensitive eyes, choosing that mascara which is just right can be a minefield. I have fairly long lashes, so I am picky when it comes to which products I choose to use.  I don't want a formula that is overly wet, one that clumps or one which leaves my lashes feeling wet and as though they are dragging on my cheeks.  Fairydrops came to life when TV Personality and Japanese celebrity Aya Yasude struggled to find that perfect mascara to give her that wow factor, so she instead took to snipping away at the bristles on various mascara wands until she found the perfect product - this is Fairydrops.
Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara Tube
Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara Wand
Scandal Queen has what is referred to as an innovative bobble wand which has three distinct curves to the wand, each confined to their own 'bobble' and it is unlike any mascara I have ever used. Designed to shape, lift and separate the lashes, the formula is not only waterproof, but it is also enriched with five different treatment essences which include squalene, jojoba seed oil, panthenol, hydrolysed collagen and moisturising hyaluronic acid and these ingredients come together to help counteract brittleness and leave lashes looking as lustrous as possible, essentially becoming the mascara that looks after your lashes as well as makes them look incredible. The formula also has what is referred to as innovative film-forming polymers whose job is to create that open eye look, or as I like to call it, the awake look.

Encased inside a beautiful rose gold tube is a mascara which lives up to pretty much all of its claims:

  • It doesn't smudge at all. Once it is applied, it stays there right up until it is removed
  • It feels really good on your lashes, it doesn't make them feel clumped or caked
  • Its formula isn't runny, over wet or gloopy, I love it
  • It comes off easily with an oil-based remover and there is no need to over rub the eyes.
  • It separates the lashes much better than some high-end mascaras I have tried
  • It creates a little bit of length
So far so good? The things it didn't do too well for me is that there was the promised volume, but I do have long lashes, so it could be that they are too long to make that difference, but and for me, this is a big but, you can apply 2-3 coats of this mascara and there is not a spiders leg in sight, not one single clump and that is quite something when applying numerous coats.  On a normal day, I would apply two coats as a maximum, but knowing I can add more is always an option I am delighted to have.

I have already re-purchased a Fairydrops Mascara, but this time opting for the Fairy Drops Quattro Mascara which has a unique Patented 4 bobble curved brush and I am intrigued to see if it works as well as Scandal Queen, which I have absolutely loved using and would definitely continue to use or re-purchase and it costs just £18.50.
