English Mineral Makeup Company

Mineral makeup is not something I use very much of and know very little about. English Mineral Makeup Company is founded on the belief that you and your skin deserve the very best and with that comes a brand free of chemicals which uses only the best 100% natural mineral ingredients to create the products.

I was kindly sent this beautiful box which features three face products which are all packaged inside their own pot and one of the softest brushes I think I have ever used. The large pink Kabuki brush is one you most definitely can't miss owing to its bright pink bristles and wooden bottom. Created from Talkon fibre and Bamboo, this Large Kabuki is also vegan and perfect for swirling around your powders.

The product which intrigued me the most from my trio of powders is Fairy Godmother and it is described as being a Primer, Fixer, Illuminator and Night Moisture Treatment. The first three I understand and would have expected to find somewhere within the description.  As a multipurpose powder, it contains millions of microscopic prisms which reflect light and give the appearance of fewer wrinkles and fine lines.  Despite being a powder, Fairy Godmother contains Jojoba Oil.  It can be used as a primer before you apply your foundation, BB Cream or tinted moisturises, you can also use blend it with your foundation to give that dewy look, you can use it as a highlighter or as a powder over the top of your makeup but the most interesting of all and something I haven't yet tried is that at night, you can use it as a moisturiser.

When it comes to using Blush, I like something less pink and more rose because it seems to work better with my pale complexion.  Within this collection, I have the shade Rose which has a satin finish and what I really like about it is that you can apply a minimal amount to give a subtle hint of colour, or you can really build it and make it pop.

The final pot contains a highlighter called Moonlight and it is just absolutely beautiful. With its Iridescent blues pinks and golden tones and whether you lightly apply it or build it up, it really brightens up the skin to give it a glow.
English Mineral Makeup Company Swatches
The swatches shown above are unedited and are taken just after each product was swatched on my hand.  At the very front is Moonlight, from which you can see the shines in the light of cold wintery day.  Behind that, we have Rose, which in the light has a slight coral tone to it and I absolutely love how it looks when applied.  The final swatch is Godmother and I've included it so that you can see that despite being a power, it blends just absolutely stunningly onto my skin.

Each one of these powders retails around £27 but you have to be quick to get your hands on them, especially Fairy Godmother because as soon as it is available, it is snapped up.  As well as powders, you can also find Mascaras, Foundations, bronzers and other brushes. This has been a great introduction to the brand and my favourite product, well actually I really have enjoyed using them all and all for very different reasons.

Have you tried anything from the English Mineral Makeup Company?

PixiGlow Cake 3 in 1 Luminous Transition Powders

I have absolutely loved getting to know Pixi Beauty over the past year or so and that stands for both the skincare and the makeup and the one phrase will you hear a lot when it comes to Pixi products is GLOW. Glow Tonic is the cult product which I am no doubt everyone will have heard of if not tried, Glow Mist, Glow Mud Cleanser, Glow Mud Mask, Glow Peel Pads and I am sure quite a few more. Today is the turn of the PixiGlow Cake 3 in 1 Luminous Transition Powders which are available in two different shades.

I have had these two powders for a good few months and I really wanted to give them a try before sharing them with you. The PixiGlow Cake 3 in 1 Luminous Transition Powders are priced at £24 each and they are huge, in fact, they contain 24grams of product making them the biggest highlighters I’ve ever used.
This light-diffusing palette helps to achieve a naturally healthy, radiant complexion with flushed apples of the cheeks, subtle contouring and glowing highlights. The shades in the gradient make it easy to create a sheer wash of luminous colour that enhances your PixiGlow!

There are two different shades available; GildedBare Glow and PinkChampagne Glow, and both versions have an ombréd design within the powder, so you can either use each of the shade on its own or mix and blend them together to create your perfect glow. Each palette contains three essential ingredients which include:
  • Ceramides to help restore the skin’s moisture barrier.
  • Peptides to plump and firm.
  • Grape Seed Extract which helps to improves skin’s elasticity.
It is these three ingredients which work to give your skin that enhanced PixiGlow as you use your blush, bronzer or highlighter.

The first palette is Pink Champagne Glow Powder consists of a really light pink, a medium pink and an almost pinky brown shade which are just stunning on their own but blend them together and you get a really pretty peachy pink shade.

The second palette, which is called GildedBare Glow is my favourite of the two and the one I have used the most and it comprises of a pale champagne shade, a lightish peach and a bronze and when they are blended together you get an almost rose gold shade.

PixiGlow Cake GildedBare Swatch
Depending on my mood, I switch between using each shade on their own and then together but I also mix between the two palettes because I really like the pinky brown shade of Pink Champagne Glow blended with the pale champagne shade from GildedBare.  I have really loved using both of the PixiGlow Cake 3 in 1 Luminous Transition Powders and I hope they are formulated and packaged into a product I can carry with me in my makeup bag because they are just absolutely lovely to use.

Have you tried the PixiGLow Cake 3 in 1 Luminous Transition Powders from Pixi?

touch in SOL Pretty Filter Waterful Glow Cream

I have made no secret of my love for touch in SOL ever since I was introduced to it last year. In that time I have featured quite a few of the brand's products here on my blog - Primers, Mascara, Eyeshadow, Lipstick and so much more, I guess you could say it has grabbed me and hooked me. If you didn't know, touch in SOL, the brainchild of Korean Beauty innovator Sean Lim is a fusion of life, energy, colour, innovation, and fun, which helps the brand to transcend the skincare and makeup realms of beauty. The drive to satisfy the growing demand for newness can be attributed to the breakthrough formulations that go into the creation of every product.

Today sees the turn the newly launched touch in SOL Pretty Filter Waterful Glow Cream which is described as being the secret to bouncy, glossy skin.

Ideal for daily use, Pretty Filter Waterful Glow Cream can be applied to the face, neck and decolletage as the final stage of your skincare routine and it should be applied to the parts where your skin appears visibly dry or dull. For me, I apply it to my cheeks and forehead and tap it into my skin and what it does is add luminosity. You can also apply this product after you have applied your makeup for that dewy look and I simply pat it on using my beauty blender. If all of that isn't enough, you can also use it as a sleep mask and this time you apply a thicker layer and allow it to seep into the skin. I have done this a few times now because my skin is not liking this cold spell we are having and I also love an overnight mask and what I have found it does, is hydrate my skin incredibly well.

The texture is quite a bouncy gel which turns to an almost water like substance on contact and I love how it feels on my skin. It uses an advanced formula of key ingredients which include hyaluronic acid, 3 layered hyaluronic, Centella Asiatica extract which is said to have potent antioxidant properties as well as being a rich source of amino acids, marine collagen extract and garcinia fruit extract all of which come together to hydrate, deeply moisturise, smooth, nourish and best of all it is cruelty and paraben free.

I have pretty much finished this pot of Glow Cream and have loved every minute of being able to use it.  It retails for £23 and is worth every single penny.  Better still, if you want to try it or any of the other products I have raved about on my blog, then you can grab yourself 20% off by using the code BQUKxSOL20 right here and the code is valid until 1st March 2019 and if you spend over £15 you can also grab free shipping by using the code SHIPSOLFREE!

I would love to know if anything from touch in SOL grabs your attention!

Temple Spa The Power Breakfast Nutritious Scrub and Mask in One

I have been working my way through a few products from Temple Spa and just a few weeks ago (here), I featured the amazing 'In the Beginning, Deep Cleansing Melt' and it is just amazing.  The second product I have absolutely loved using is The Power Breakfast Nutritious Scrub and Mask in One and I love a versatile product and this is one.  Working as either a Scrub or a Mask or even both, it is described as being perfect for combination skin that needs balancing.
This scrub-mask is formulated with oats, honey, fruit and juice which work to gently dissolve dead skin cells as well as to decongest, polish and brighten skin. Again, there are three key ingredients to this product and the first one is the juices of Apples and Pears, second is Oats and third, we have Kaolin Clay.

  • Apples and pears are known for their cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising abilities. They are natural humectants so can attract and hold onto water molecules and help the skin to retain its natural moisture as well as helping to balance the pH level of the skin leaving you with a smooth and even skin tone. They both possess exfoliating capabilities, working to remove dead dull skin cells, aiding the cell turnover process and giving clarified, radiant skin.
  • Oats contain moisturising and softening properties and not only do they help to exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells and get rid of dry, flaky skin, in doing so they help to rid the skin of daily toxins which helps to improve skin tone and texture. Oats also contain anti-inflammatory properties and have a calming effect on sensitive or irritated skin.
  • Kaolin Clay is one of the few clays I can use on my face without causing irritation. It works to balance both oily and dry skin, absorbing excess oil and reducing the production of sebum without stripping the skin. It also has deep cleansing, decongesting and toning qualities, helping to eliminate acne, blemishes and blackheads.

I love a product that is versatile and this is one of those products because you can use it as a one minute scrub or twenty-minute mask and either use is just divine, it just comes down to how your skin is feeling at the time of use.

This product is perfect for anyone like me who has combination skin and it is priced at £28 from the Temple Spa website right here (aff link).
