August Libbie Club

The August Libbie Club has arrived and once again it is absolutely amazing, just like both the June and July boxes.  Latest in Beauty (LIB) recently launched The Libbie Club which is described as being a community of influential beauty fans who are rewarded for reviewing, sharing and referring beauty products.

Each month members of The Libbie Club are sent a free of charge box of full sized beauty products to try out, you then write your honest reviews about each product on their site and if anyone makes a purchase via any of your recommendations, you will then be sent another box the next month to review again. However, with each product comes an offer, more of which you can read about below.

Inside this months box we have the Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Miracle Cleanser with cloth. Nestled inside this really beautiful velvet bag is a 30ml tube of cleanser and a cloth. Described as being an intelligent, aromatic, creamy infusion glides on to the skin and lifts off all impurities and make- up. The accompanying antibacterial bamboo muslin cloth helps to buff away dead skin cells and make-up whilst helping to stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process.

I have really enjoyed using this cleanser, it is my first product from the brand and I am really impressed with it. There is nothing better than coming home and removing the day from your face (as I put it) and this cleanser is exactly as it describes iself, it is creamy and it does melt everything off your face but what it negates to mention is how amazing it also smells! Scent for me is quite important, if I don't like the smell of something chances are it won't get used straightaway. But this cleanser being fragranced with an uplifting essential oil blend of Eucalyptus, Chamomile, Rosemary and Bergamot is simply delightful.

Now you don't have to take my word for it, you can try it yourself with the fantastic offer from this months Libbie Club which gives you a full sized Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Miracle Cleanser plus free travel size tube worth £8.50 all for £34.

The next item in the box is from Lola and it is a nail polish in a beautiful shade of blue called Bluebell. The shade itself is perfect for the spring and summer months and is one that flatters all skintones.  I like the chunkiness of the nail polish lid because it makes it easy to hold on to when using to pain your nails.

The offer on this nail polish from the Libbie Club is a good old fashioned BOGOF and for £8 you get two nail polishes.

The final product in the box is the Therapie Roques O’Neil Aura Spray. Now this I was excited about because I am a huge fan of the Himalayan Detox Salts which I reviewed here. The Aura Spray is aromatherapeutic spritz that refreshes whenever you're tired, frazzled, overworked or in one of those sluggish moods and need a bit of a wake up.

I have my spray on my desk at work because not only does it help to keep my skin feeling hydrated throughout the day but it does give that nudge mid afternoon when I am feeling a tad sleepy at my desk.  It is designed to be spritzed onto the face and whilst it doesn't leave your face soaking wet, nor does it make your make up run, it does refresh and hydrate not to mention smell absolutely wonderful of roses and citrus.

If this sounds like a product you would love to try (and I urge you to because it is amazing) then the offer with this months Libbie Club is a discount of 20% the Aura Spray.

I have absolutely loved this box yet again, it is the third one I have reviewed and I am yet to feel let down by the contents which I feel offer a great mixture of products.

What do you think to the August Box?

Hen Night Outfit Choices

I am going to one of my closes friends Hen nights in a few days time and choosing something to wear has been quite tricky, mainly due to the activities of the night (which I can't reveal as she reads my blog).  That said, I have narrowed it down to a choice of two dresses and either black tights with chunky boots or a pair of chunky sandals.

Option One

Hen Night outfit 1

I absolutely love this dress which I found on eBay with the accessories coming from TK Maxx by way clutch bag along with some of the jewellery. The final items are the Boots, cardigan and tights which are from New Look and are in the sale.  The total outfit costing just £150

Option Two

I have a bit of a thing for floral dresses, quite out of character as I usually like things to be quite plain so I can dress them up with accessories.

Hen night outfit 2

So the dress is again from New Look and costs just £17.99 which is such a bargain with again the tights and cardigan from the first outfit.  The chunky sandals which I really love because they are not too high (I have flat feet) and look great with tights are from Jones Bootmaker where again there is a great sale and these cost £20.  The finals items are the cross body bag which is made by Osprey and costs £30 from TKMaxx an a white bangle bracelet which I own and it comes from Forever21 and I paid £5.

I am yet to decide which outfit I am going to wear, but would love to know your thoughts!

You Beauty Discovery Box - August

It's that time of the month for another You Beauty Discovery Box and if you read my blog regularly, you will know that I am a huge fan of this box and think it is one of the best out there. For August, the box is centered about Summer Essentials and the chance to try some of the best summer friendly products.

This month there are two 'Treats' which area sachet of Sienna X Gradual Glowing Tan which is said to give you natural looking, award winning, sunless tan. I really like the sound of the brand but don't think a sachet will give me enough insight into whether or not I would purchase a full sized product. The second treat is an introductory sampler to the book 'The Mortal Instruments: One - City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and it is part of an Urban Fantasy series which is not my thing at all and not something that I will be reading. So I am not too impressed with the 'Treats' this month.

The next two products are the ones that I chose to try from a selection of 8. This month I opted for two products that I had heard a lot about but have never tried.

StriVectin – Intensive Illuminating Serum. This Serum is a lightweight skin brightening formula that diminishes dull skin, evens skin tone and enhances overall clarity. Its patented NIA-114 technology minimizes the effect of environmental aggressors while encapsulated skin-brightening ingredients target the key causes of discoloration. It is also said that over time, dark spots, age spots and discoloration are less visible for a more even complexion. Skin texture is smoother and more refined with a radiant, youthful glow.  This product has a value of around £19

Ole Henriksen – Truth Serum Collagen Booster. I have used the Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser and the Pure Truth Oil, both of which I was really impressed and quite keen to try something else from the range and this caught my attention. The Truth Serum is packed full of antioxidants and Vitamin C which as we know, are vital for the skin at this time of year. Whilst the sun works wonders at supplying us with that all important Vitamin D, it can also dry the skin and damage it too if we don’t look after our skin.  This product has an RRP £18

Elemis Face Masks

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I love facemasks and like nothing better than using them a few times a week to keep my dry, red prone almost wrinkle free skin in the best condition that I can manage.  It seems to be the 'in' thing right now to try multimasking, something I am bringing to this blog soon, but in my quest to multimask, I have been going through my stash using masks I haven't used in a while and try out some new ones. Two of those new ones come from Elemis**, a brand I feel I should have used more than I have and one whose products I do have and have used, I have loved.

The two masks in question are the Herbal Lavender Repair Mask and Exotic Cream moisturising mask, both totally different but both absolutely amazing.

Elemis Face Mask
Elemis Face Mask

I can't pick a favourite between these masks and both have their own good points.  The Herbal Lavender Repair Mask is said to purify, sooth and rebalance the skin.  Ideal for those who have sensitive, dull, congested or blemish prone skin, this mask uses soothing Kaolin Clay along with Rosemary, Thyme and Lavender essential oils which are great for purifying the skin, acting as an antiseptic and also for deep cleansing.

The mask comes inside this pure which tube with a silver twist on and off lid and looks very luxurious. The idea is that you apply the mask to clean skin on the face and neck and leave it for 10-15 minutes trying your best not to talk or make any movement which might cause the clay to crack.

As the mask is drying, I did feel a slight tingling on my skin which always worries me as I have had issues in the past with clay masks.  Thankfully not with this one and instead what it is does is give your skin that really clean fresh feel, the one where it feels as though your skin can actually breathe, isn't clogged up and doesn't need a good wash.  What I also love about this mask is its scent, yes it contains Lavender which is one of my favourite scents, but it isn't the main scent for me, it is in fact Rosemary which is so fresh smelling it is wonderful.

The Elemis Herbal Lavender Mask has an RRP £30 for a 75ml tube and you can find it right HERE.

The Second Mask in my Elemis collection is the Exotic Cream Moisture mask which I also adore.  Found inside this really luxurious silver tube packaging with a pump action nozzle, This mask contains mimosa and amino-acid rich honey, plus extracts of samphire, orange and bergamot and it has one of those scents that you instantly love and would like to see in candle form (Hint Elemis).

Now if you want a face mask which leaves your skin not only feeling refreshed, but super moisturised and hydrated then this is one worthy of looking at and it is perfect for those of you who have spent a good few weeks somewhere and hot and need some TLC for your skin because one tip I was given with this mask is to leave it on overnight and wash off in the morning and it is just superb.

To use this mask you simply warm three or four pumps between the palms of your hands and apply onto a clean face and neck.  Once applied, you leave it for up to 10 minutes to allow the mask and all its goodness to deeply penetrate into the skin to push all the rubbish out, not only giving you a deep cleanse but also ensuring your skin receives optimum hydration.  After those 10 minutes, rinse off using warm water, then pat the skin dry before applying your usual moisturiser.  Your skin, should by now feel absolutely amazing.

Now not only is this mask amazing but you can also use it on other dry patches on your body, so whether that is your knees, elbows, hands or feet and the effects are brilliant, well worthy of 10-15 minutes of your time to treat these parts of your body which often get forgotten.  This mask is sold in a 50ml tube and has an RRP £35 and you can see it right HERE

Have you tried either of these masks?
