L'Occitane Shea Sparkling Leaves Collection

I don't think L'Occitane will ever release a product that I am more obsessed about than the Almond Shower Oil, or indeed the entire Almond Collection, it is just the best. However, that doesn't mean I am not wanting to try every other product that is released, especially when it sounds so scrumptious.
L'Occitane Shea Sparkling Leaves Collection
Meet the Shea Sparkling Leaves Rich as Honey collection, described as being a citrusy green scent of Sparkling Leaves where fresh notes of mandarin and ginger, glister against the warm backdrop of woody shea and sandalwood. Simply divine. The collection comprises of some amazing products and I am sharing five of them with you in this post, so whether you choose to love one of them or all five of them, you are in for a treat.

Starting with the Shea Sparkling Leaves Rich as Honey Shower Gel (£17.50) you have a product which is suitable for all skin types and one which is enriched with softening shea butter and moisturising olive oil to gently cleanse the skin while at the same time leaving it delicately fragranced with what is described as being 'a scent inspired by a walk in the Provençal olive tree fields, combining fresh and sparkling notes of olive tree leaves and fruits'.  Not only does it smell exactly as that description envisages, it has a texture that looks just like dark honey and is divine on the skin.

The second product is the Shea Sparkling Leaves Body Exfoliating Scrub (£30) and it is designed to soften and smooth the skin.

Again, it has an infusion of shea extract, olive oil and olive leaf powder which again has those scent notes of sunny fruit and olive leaves, but the best part is the indulgent jelly texture which I was not expecting to find and it reminds me of a crushed Kiwi Fruit, though it smells a whole lot better. On the skin, the Olive Leaf Powder works its magic to exfoliate your skin to leave it feeling not only soft and smooth to the touch, but also delicately scented too.

Up next is the Shea Sparkling Leaves Extra-Gentle Soap (£5.50) which you can get a real scent of before removing the wrapping.

Again, this soap is enriched with shea butter, an ingredient known for its softening and nourishing properties, it not only cleanses the skin but also envelopes it with that same citrusy green set of notes which runs throughout this collection. When mixed with warm water, it creates a generous lather, so whether you choose to use it to just wash your hands, or elsewhere, the scent lingers on the skin and in the room it has been used in.

One brand that is guaranteed to have me using their body creams is L'Occitane, so within this collection is the Sparkling Leaves Ultra Light Body Cream (£34.50) and again, packaged similarly to the Body Scrub, it is just a delight to use.

Again, formulated with 5% shea butter, this body cream works to leave the skin feeling supple, comfortable and moisturised. It has a really unique whipped like texture which melts onto and into the skin when applied and as it does so, those green citrus notes again, lightly scent the skin.

Then finally, fans of the brand won't be too shocked to see that this collection features a hand cream, The Sparkling Leaves Light Hand Cream (£22).

Again, formulated with 5% Shea Butter, this hand cream has the same whipped cream texture as the body cream and when used, it leaves skin feeling soft and protected from dryness. If like me you make your way through a tube of hand cream as quick as a box of Maltersers, then this one is super special, those cirtusy green notes are really noticeable and my hands are always left feeling really nourished after using.

If you like the sound of the Shea Sparkling Leaves Collection, then it is a Limited Edition and to get your hands on it along with the rest of the products, you can find them and the web exclusives online right here.

Hemsley Organic and Natural Skincare

Hemsley Organics is a brand I had never come across until I was kindly sent two products from their growing collection. A British, UK based well-being brand, Hemlsey Organics is described as being dedicated to offering natural, organic products for the skin and soul.
Hemsley Organic and Natural Skincare
They use pairing sensorial blends of organic and natural essential oils that connect with your senses, and scientifically backed ingredients to promote healthy beautiful skin, all blessed by Reiki energy, to create their products.

The first product is Smooth & Hydrate Cream Cleanser (£25) and as all cleansers do, it works to remove all traces of makeup, impurities and other detritus that sits on the skin without stripping your skin's natural barrier and whilst working to maintain skins natural pH balance and safeguards your natural equilibrium.
Hemsley Organic and Natural Skincare
Blessed by the brands reiki master and co-founder, Georgina Hemsley, this cleanser is creamy and lightweight has the most incredible scent, this is partly owing to the blend of 8 Essential Oil blend of Ylang Ylang, Rose Geranium and Bergamot which are used because they offer an uplifting and refreshing blend to begin and end your day without being too over-powering. Then we have the key ingredients within the cleanser:
  • Organic Bulgarian Rose Water offers a powerful antioxidant base, working dynamically with the natural plant-based extractions. Bulgarian rose is naturally rich in flavonoids and vitamins A, C, D, E & B3. This superior ingredient works to keep skins natural pH balanced, plump skin, visibly soften fine lines and wrinkles and protect skin from harmful free radicals. Fighting oxidative stress whilst providing superior hydration qualities to support a youthful complexion.
  • Coconut Oil - Naturally antibacterial, it works to dissolve dirt, sebum and other impurities without leaving any residue behind. It also contains vitamin C to hydrate and brighten as it also helps to reduce pigmentation and blemishes, plus it smoothes and hydrates skin, providing a host of antioxidants.
  • Grapefruit - With a variety of natural acids which work to break down dead skin cells to smooth and brighten. it is also a natural source of Salicylic Acid and that works to deeply cleanse pores as it also helps to improve skin's appearance and texture. Not forgetting that you will also find beta carotene, whose job it is to transform dull, dehydrated complexions and leave skin beautifully radiant. Grapefruit oil also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties which work to clean and clear congested skin.
What I have loved about using this Cleanser is just how beautiful it feels on the skin and just how nourished and hydrated my skin feels, all without being stripped.

The second product is the Hydrating Skin Mist (£22) and anyone who reads my blog or follows me on social media knows how much I love a good mist.
Hemsley Organic and Natural Skincare
A main ingredient of Organic Bulgarian Rose Water, which also features in the Cleanser, offers a powerful antioxidant base. Naturally rich in flavonoids and vitamins A, C, D, E & B3, this amazing ingredient works to keep skins natural pH balanced, plump skin and to also visibly soften fine lines and wrinkles and protect skin from harmful free radicals. You will also find the inclusion of Kelp and Hyaluronic Acid alongside the essential oils of both Grapefruit and Rose Absolute which provide a refreshing scent for an energising and uplifting blend. If that isn't impressive, it also helps to fight oxidative stress whilst providing superior hydration qualities to support a youthful complexion.

This mist can be used as a mist by simply spritzing it directly onto the skin to keep your skin refreshed and hydrated, or you can use it as a toner by spritzing a few sprays to a cotton pad to use after cleansing.

Both of these products are just a delight to use and together they are just beautiful, whether you use the Mist as a toner or a mist or use it as both.

REN Clean Skincare Everyhydrate Review

After the launch of the REN Clean Skincare Perfect Canvas Smooth, Prep and Plump Essence, I didn't think things could get better, then I remembered I was on my second bottle of the EverHydrate serum, and you know its an amazing product when the latest launch from REN Clean Skincare already has you buying a back up ready.
REN Clean Skincare Everyhydrate Review
Everyhydrate is made up of two products, the Everhydrate Marine Moisture-Restore Serum and the Everhydrate Marine Moisture-Replenish Cream and together they are quite the power couple. REN, if you have ever used products from REN, then you will know that these products will only ever be exceptional. So, the new Everhydrate range is designed to work in synergy with your skin to deliver deep hydration and moisture retention for up to 72 hours.

The Everhydrate Marine Moisture-Restore Serum (£40), which is described as being a 'water-jelly osmo-hydration serum', is infused with Wild Rosella and sustainably sourced Algae Extracts to rejuvenate the skin whilst flooding it with hydration, then with freshwater Algae and Hyaluronic acid, they work in synergy to help protect against free radicals whilst Green Caviar Algae smooths and plumps the skin.
REN Clean Skincare Everyhydrate Review
As soon as this serum is applied to my skin, it is absorbed without leaving any sticky trace or residue behind. With its lightweight texture and incredible freshwater scent, almost as though you are walking down the promenade feeling the fresh sea air.   I absolutely adore this serum as does my skin, after using my skin is hydrated, it feels smooth to the touch and it just needs its partner in cream to finish the job.

So the Everhydrate Marine Moisture-Replenish Cream (£35) also has a really lightweight, almost gel like texture to it and on contact with the skin, this cream sinks beautifully without leaving behind any sticky residue. As with the serum, this cream is also clinically proven to deliver up to 48-hour defence from dehydration and help repair the skin barrier.
REN Clean Skincare Everyhydrate Review
Again, this cream is powered by the same moisture-maximising matrix infused with pioneering water-retention technology which works to flood the skin with moisture and then trap it on the skin’s surface to intensively replenish and deliver relief from dehydration, when, and where, you need it most. This cream also features sustainably sourced algae extracts just like the EverHydrate Serum, and again it is infused with Vitamins, Minerals and Marine Algae alongside Hyaluronic and Polyglutamic Acids which work to replenish and lock in moisture, boost the skins barrier and leaves the skin feeling soft, comfortable and looking plump, smooth and bright.

As always from REN Clean SKincare this is an incredible duo and my skin has just absolutely loved using them. Both products are packaged in recyclable packaging – a mono-material pump pack for the cream and a recyclable glass bottle with 50% recycled plastic twist-lock pump for the serum.

No7 Future Renew Skincare Review

Let me introduce you to a range of beauty products that has been hyped, coveted, covered, reviewed and raved about more than any other launch I can think of - the Boots No7 Future Renew Skincare collection.
No7 Future Renew Skincare
The No7 Future Renew Skincare was released back in April and I was kindly gifted all four of the products which I wanted to put to the test and really try them out. If you want to give them a try for yourself, rumour has it they will be making an appearance in the No7 Advent Calendar or if you are too impatient, there is a cute gift set featuring all four products here.

Background

Impressively, 15 years of research at the University of Manchester has gone into this range, tested by over 4000 women tested with 79% of those women reporting improvements in firmness, texture, tone and hydration. The range contains a super peptide blend which is described as being the biggest cosmetic scientific innovation in the history of No7 that is designed to ‘bio-hack’ the skin’s own regenerative processes, or simply put, it is designed to take what the skin does already and give it a turbo-charge by renewing more than 50 key proteins found within skin. Unless you’ve been living in a shell, Peptides are a very popular ingredient right now and everyone is raving about it. The patented Peptcology™ used in this range contains a blend of peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and niacinamide, together they target hydration, tone, texture, elasticity and the production of collagen with the main aim being to reverse the visible signs of skin damage. Quite the ask!

The four products within this range can be used as part of your existing skincare routine or you can use them to create a routine.

Starting with the Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum (£38.65): For me, a serum has to be just that. This serum has a really lightweight texture that absorbs incredible quick and easily without being sticky or tacky but anyone who has used the Benefit POREfessional primer will be familiar with how that feels on the skin, this is similar. It uses niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, mulberry and hydrolysed rice proteins which claims to work to reverse the visible signs of skin damage, including appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, uneven tone and texture, dry skin, and less elastic and firm feeling skin in just four weeks.
No7 Future Renew Skincare
No7 Future Renew Skincare
I’m at the age where those fine lines are attempting to make their appearance and of course I’ve mentioned the dry skin patches that I have - the joys of combination skin. So this serum does work its magic to turn that uneven, dryness to a smoother base. I really liked using this serum, not my favourite of the four products, but one I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up again.

Keeping with serums, the next produce is the Future Renew Eye Serum (£22.45): For any product that is designed to be used near my eyes, I’m not wanting something akin to Vaseline or anything that is too thick. Delightfully, this serum is incredibly lightweight that it absorbs immediately upon application and again using a blend of the super peptide blend, this eye serum contains hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C and rice proteins.
No7 Future Renew Skincare Review
No7 Future Renew Skincare Review
As someone who doesn’t sleep well, dark circles are a concern along with puffiness and what this serum absolutely does is make the eye area brighter and more wide awake. It doesn’t irritate or sting when applied and it is a great base for applying concealer.

The final two products in this range are creams - one for the day time and one for the evening.

The first cream is the Future Renew Day Cream SPF40 (£31.45): As with the other products within this range, along with that main peptide blend is an antioxidant blend of niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and rice proteins, not forgetting the SPF40, which I think is quite impressive.
No7 Future Renew Skincare Review
No7 Future Renew Skincare Review
On the skin, this is quite a thick textured cream which takes a bit of massaging for it to be absorbed fully, but with the addition of an SPF, I’m happy with that, it does leave a slight sheen afterwards, but I’ve enjoyed using it and my skin feels soft and smooth to the touch.

The final product is the Future Renew Night Cream (£31.45)and I just love it. As it is a night cream, there is no SPF or Vitamin C as neither are needed as you sleep, but it is luxuriously rich and nourishing thanks to the inclusion of Shea Butter. You will also find the inclusion of isoparaffin, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and of course the super peptide blend.
No7 Future Renew Skincare Review
No7 Future Renew Skincare Review
After double cleansing and then applying this cream to the skin, the following morning im left with skin that feels bouncy, nourished and soothed.

It’s fair to say this range of products have exceeded my expectations, though I feel a lot of products from the No7 range are not given the love they deserve.

If you have skin that is dull, dry, tired-looking as well the loss of elasticity, an uneven texture and tone, then this is the range you should absolutely try, especially when the products are more often than not on an offer at Boots.

Adapting Your Skincare In Your 20s, 30s, And 40s

Are you still using the same skincare products from your teen years? If you want to see good results, it may be time to make some changes in your routine. The goal of any skincare routine is to keep your complexion at its best, and find solutions for any problems that you want to work on. Skincare specialist Kristina Holey says that having a consistent beauty routine gives you an opportunity to see changes in your appearance, so as your skin transforms with age, so will your products.

Of course, finding the best cleansers, lotions, or serums can take some trial and error, but there are some products that will work their magic to make your skin look young and radiant. The key is knowing when to incorporate them into your routine. To get the best skin ever, here's how to adapt your skincare in your 20s, 30s, and 40s.

20s- Adjust Acne Care and Prevent Collagen Loss
In your 20s, it's likely that you're still dealing with the same acne problems from your teenage years. But instead of using harsh products that target acne, you'll need to take a gentler approach by finding out what's causing the problem. Acne can be triggered by stress, and most people in their 20s are highly stressed because of the transition from academic life to having a career. In fact, research shows that women from 22 to 24 years in age had higher acne severity when stressed. Finding ways to de-stress can be a holistic solution for mild acne in your 20s. Using cleansers and toners with salicylic acid or cica, as well as a moisturiser with hyaluronic acid, will keep your skin clear without drying it out.

Preventing collagen loss should also be prioritised in your 20s. We lose 1% of collagen in our skin each year, and while your skin may look plump and smooth right now, loss of collagen may lead to fine lines and wrinkles once you're in your early 30s. To nourish and plump skin, eat a protein-rich diet to boost skin elasticity. You can also have microneedling treatments every few months or so to encourage collagen production, and use a sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from UV rays and prevent collagen breakdown.

30s- Treat Fine Lines and Improve Skin Firmness
Your 30s is when you'll likely start to see signs of skin ageing, and at this time, you'll probably notice some fine lines around your eyes and loss of volume in your cheeks. This would be the perfect time to add a good eye cream into your skincare routine. Apply it every night to reduce fine lines, and make sure to gently tap the cream into your skin with your ring finger to avoid pulling or dragging the delicate skin around your eyes. Meanwhile, to boost skin firmness, switch to a moisturiser with peptides or Vitamin B3 to keep your skin taut. You'll also need to eat a diet high in antioxidants and Vitamins C and E to maintain your skin's elasticity.

40s- Enhance Skin Radiance and Treat Discolouration
In your 40s, you'll notice that your skin starts to look somewhat dull and lifeless, and you'll also see hyperpigmentation or dark spots from sun damage or melasma. According to Alabama-based dermatologist Dr. Corey Hartman, your first line of defense against dark spots is sunscreen, so make sure to apply SPF and reapply every two hours if you'll be outside or if you're sitting near a window. You may also need to incorporate a gentle exfoliant to encourage cell turnover, get rid of dark spots, and have a more even skin tone.

Meanwhile, to enhance skin radiance, use actives such as retinol or a glycolic acid cream to brighten dull skin. If you're unsure about using actives though, consider using brightening Korean skincare products, which are a lot more gentle on the skin. These products typically contain ingredients such as snail mucin extract and yuzu or tangerine extract, which can boost skin radiance.

Adjusting your skincare as you age is a smart way to have great skin through the years. Consider these tips to adapt your skincare in your 20s, 30s, and 40s to have clear, healthy, and young-looking skin.

L'Occitane Artichoke Range

A range I would never expect to have loved as much as I do is the L'Occitane Artichoke Range. Consisting of two products - Massage Cream and Exfoliating Body Scrub they are exceptional in every way.
L'Occitane Artichoke Range
L'Occitane Artichoke Range
Starting with the Artichoke Exfoliating Body Scrub (£42/200ml) it is described as being an expert body scrub which works to improve the appearance of cellulite, skin’s firmness and relieve water retention swelling.

With its jelly-like texture, the Artichoke Body Scrub does something I was not expecting it to do, it warms on contact with the skin to give that little extra something. On the skin when massaged, the scrub polishes away those dead and dry skin cells along with any impurities and whilst it is not overly abrasive, it does an incredible job.
L'Occitane Artichoke Range
This scrub is enriched with Artichoke extract which is known to help blood circulation and anti-cellulite Centella Asiatica extract, micro-circulation is enhanced to visibly improve the appearance of cellulite, skin’s elasticity and tonicity whilst also relieving the swelling sensations due to water retention.

Then we have the Artichoke Massage Cream (£49/200ml) and it is described as being an expert body moisturiser that improves skin texture and skin’s firmness.
This Massage Cream is a moisturiser which works to firms-up the skin whilst at the same time helping to reduce cellulite aspect and when it is combined with a massage it also helps reduces swollen and heavy leg sensation.

On the skin, the cream has a refreshing feel to it as its lightweight texture melts into the skin to leave it feeling moisturised and hydrated for up to 8 hours. Once again, powered with micro-circulation booster Artichoke extract, not only does it sublimates body contours, restores firmness and elasticity to the skin and helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

As both products use Artichoke extract, an ingredient that is raved about for its ability to improve skin tone and elasticity as well as to soothe and calm irritated skin.  For me, I have an issue with water retention in my legs, so to actually notice a difference from continuous use of a product is quite remarkable, especially around my ankles when one is always swollen due to an old injury.  When a sandal strap was once too tight, it now fits and isn't uncomfortable and nor does it rub, so for that reason alone, I have ensured I have another jar of each pot in my bathroom cupboard.

L'Occitane is to launch Beauty Advent Calendars this year and all the details can be found right here.

AEOS Starter Kit - Blue

Meet AEOS, a British organic and sustainable skincare brand who has a collection of 18 skincare and body care products. AEOS has been created by a team of experts in ancient alchemy and skincare specialists to produce forward-thinking formulas that are set to shake up the organic skincare market. I was kindly sent a selection of products to try, starting with this Starter Kit.
aoes Starter Kit - Blue
The starter kits are available in either pink or blue shades and each one has a different power. The Pink supports the heart chakra, encouraging kindness, caring and love towards yourself. Then the one which I chose, Starter Kit Blue supports peace and serenity, helping you to slow down, breathe deep and soothe away stress from your skin and mind.

The blue starter kit is packaged inside a cardboard box with sleeve and there is a selection of 8 products.

Starter Kit Contains:

  • Cleansing Oil dé-Maq 3ml
  • Dew Facial Wash 3ml
  • Gentle Cleansing Lotion Blue 3ml
  • Gentle Exfoliant Blue 3ml
  • Energising Conditioner 3ml
  • Refreshing Hydrating Mist 3ml
  • Realive Serum 3ml
  • Enriching Moisturiser Blue 3ml
Each kit (£9.50) gives you enough product for 4 - 5 days of use, each morning and evening and it is a really great way to get to know the brand and decide what does and does not work for you.
AEOS Starter Kit - Blue
AEOS Starter Kit - Blue
Each one of these kits from AEOS gives you a routine to follow when using the products and I think to get the best out of them, it is worth following that routine.

Starting with the AM routine

Renew: To begin, cleanse with Gentle Cleansing Lotion on damp skin and then once a week, follow with Gentle Exfoliant.

Light and non-greasy, the Gentle Cleansing Lotion uses an advanced botanical blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and crystal essences which are said to come ‘alive’ when activated with water.  What I love about this cleansing lotion is just how lightweight it is and it really does leave your skin feeling clean and moisturised.

The Gentle Exfoliant uses a rich blend of skin-nurturing organic oils such as jojoba, grape seed, argan and avocado alongside the brands own biodynamic spelt oil which has antioxidant, moisturising and regenerative properties. On the skin, this is one of the best products I have used, it does an incredible job at exfoliating the skin without being too abrasive and it smells incredible.

Rebalance: Apply Energising Conditioner followed by Refreshing Hydrating Mist.  The Energy Conditioner is designed to be smoothing, calming and hydrating. Alongside the biodynamic plant extracts is warming White Birch which encourages optimal absorption into the deeper layers of the skin.  For me, this conditioner is like an Essence and my skin lapped it up.

Following on with the Refreshing Hydration Mist, which again I am a huge fan of, it gives a lovely hit of hydration without soaking the skin and it also has a wonderful uplifting scent.

Replenish: The final part of the AM routine is to apply the Realive Serum followed by Enriching Moisturiser Blue.  The Realive Serum uses an intensive fusion of nature’s most potent organic and biodynamic plant extracts and crystal essences alongside naturally-derived hyaluronic acid to encourage the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles.  Again, this serum is lightweight and has a perfect serum texture, on the watery side rather than the thicker and it absorbs on contact.

Followed with the Enriching Moisturiser Blue, ideal to soften, smooth and condition skin, it uses an award-winning blend of organic and biodynamic plant extracts and crystal essences. Again, alongside the brand's own-grown biodynamic spelt oil works with jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil and rose hydrosol – for superior synchronistic moisturisation.  On the skin, it is light and not tacky or sticky and absorbs with ease and again, the scent of Lemon Scented Tea Tree Oil sticks out to me.

Then for the evening routine, it is again to renew, rebalance and replenish with similar steps to complete.

The Evening Routine

Renew: To begin, cleanse with Cleansing Oil dé-Maq followed by Dew Facial Wash on damp skin.  Starting with the Cleansing Oil dé-Maq, this oil based cleanser is just a delight to use and ingredients such as Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sesame Seed Oil are used alongside a blend of premium-grade organic and biodynamic oils and plant extracts to cleanse the skin and remove every last trace of make-up and impurities. Used with a cotton wool pad, you need just a few drops to cleanse the skin.

The Dew Facial Wash is your second cleanse and it works to remove anything the oil leaves behind. Using a combination of neroli, spelt and lemon oils combined with crystal and gem tinctures, helps relax skin for easy absorption of skin-loving plant extracts. To use, the advice is to add a few drops of the Dew Facial Wash to a sink of warm water and then soak a Muslin Cloth in the botanical infused water for a few minutes and then squeeze out excess water and place over the face and leave for a few seconds, then repeat the process. By doing this it opens up your pores and gently prepares the skin to get the maximum benefit from the products to follow.

Rebalance: Then apply Energising Conditioner followed by Refreshing Hydrating Mist using the same steps ive detailed above and then to finish is to Replenish and to do this, apply Realive Serum followed by Enriching Moisturiser.

AEOS grow and harvest as much as they can on their 500 acre Demeter-certified biodynamic farm for use in all of the products mentioned as well as sourcing all other ingredients from exceptional organic and biodynamic farms across the world.

This is one stunning brand and I love that the use of crystals runs throughout each product., more of which can be read here, but I love that they are used to help deliver therapeutic effects for body, mind and soul alike.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

Every review ive seen of the iconic Magic Cream by Charlotte Tilbury questions whether or not it is worth the hype and whilst I am often wanting to try everything that everyone raves about, I often like to wait for the furore to die down and then try things for myself. I already adore the Charlotte Tilbury Glow Toner, so I had high hopes.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream was created backstage to transform models' skin in an instant. Described as being a luxurious, multi-tasking moisturiser that is designed to hydrate, nourish, and brighten your skin, you often hear the phrase 'Magic by name, Magic by nature' being attributed to this product.

Packaged inside a luxurious weighty glass jar with gold lid, the cream inside is one of the richest moisturisers I have probably ever used and my skin loves it.  I have combination oily skin, so I am part oily, part dry and this constant change in weather only adds to the dryess, so with skin that feels parched, I need to pack on the hydration.

This rich cream is, as you might expect packed full of the most amazing ingredients alongside SPF15 and a anti-UVA filter that protects your skin from the sun’s ageing effects, you will find:
  • ‘multi-tasking’ anti-age BioNymph Peptide Complex stimulates collagen production and improve elasticity production while fighting free radicals.
  • Hyaluronic acid and wild pansy extracts seal-in moisture so your skin feels renewed and rejuvenated.
  • Vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant which helps with reducing hyperpigmentation, fading scars, and evening out your complexion
  • Rosehip and camellia oils which work to transform dull complexions so you can get hydrated, youthful skin.
You can see why it is said to be perfect if you want to cheat the appearance of 8 hours sleep for glowing skin in a flash because it does exactly that and so much more. As well as being an incredible moisturising cream, you can also use it as a makeup primer and it helps to soothe and smooth out the skin to create that perfect base.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
For me that lovely rich, luxurious texture that glides on to the skin without feeling too thick or heavy ticks boxes, added to which it leaves my skin soft, smooth and moisturised, I love how hydrates and yes I get the hype, but it was worth waiting to try it in my own time.

Starting at £53 for 30ml, it isn't cheap but the pot is going to last you a good few months and if you can ever get your hands on a sachet to try - do it!

S'Able Labs Skincare Review

Will he ever not be Luther and become James Bond? There is no doubt that right now, anything Idris Elba does becomes a media story and that includes launching S'Able Labs (which as well as being Elba's backwards) is a skincare collection with his wife Sabrina and ive been trying out a few of their products.
S'Able Labs Skincare Review
Explaining that with S'Able Labs there's no "his" or "her's" it has instead been made to benefit all skin types and skin tones, the conscious skincare brand aims to have a high impact on the skin, and low impact on the planet, while delivering great results for everyone.

The products I have been using are - Qasil Cleanser, Black Seed Toner and the Baobab Moisturiser, all of which are packaged in the most straightforward looking packaging with their Steel Grey bottles and tubes and everything you need to know is clearly visible to read.

First up is the Qasil Cleanser (£28) and it is not just any old cleanser, it is an exfoliating cleanser and I love everything about it, from the way the cleanser leaves the tube to the feel of it on my skin.  As cleansing is my favourite skincare step, I was really excited to use this!

Made from a balancing blend of Qasil, Kaolin and Oat Amino Acids, the texture of this cleanser is one that isn't too thick or too runny, it sits in between and applies like an absolute dream to the skin.  Then comes the inclusion of Shea Butter, Rice Milk and Squalane alongside Chamomile and Aloe Vera Powder which work together to moisturise the skin as well as leaving it soft and refreshed.

On the skin, this cleanser isn't abrasive at all, so it won't scratch the surface of your skin, but it does do an incredible job at removing everything in its path, the only thing I haven't tried it with is eye makeup because I use a separate product. It is fair to say I am really impressed with this cleanser, it ticks all its promised boxes and looks an feels every bit as luxurious as it sounds.

S’able Labs Qasil Cleanser is a fragrance-free, vegan and cruelty-free skincare product that is suitable for all skin types.

The next product is the Black Seed Toner (£35) and as Toners go, this one took me a few uses to get used to using.
S'Able Labs Skincare Review
Designed to be a tone that helps to refine the skin’s texture, it is formulated with black seed extract which helps to brighten and smooth the skin alongside a blend of five natural AHAs that work to brighten the skin’s tone and smooth its texture, while panthenol helps to moisturise and repair the skin and then finally there is the inclusion of ferulic acid and its job is to minimise hyper-pigmentation and fine lines.

As you can see, it is a powerhouse of ingredients and to use. As with any Toner, it should be used after cleansing and this one is designed to be sprayed onto the skin, both morning and evening and initially, spraying a Toner for me takes a few uses to get used too and you only need a few spritzes to ensure coverage of the face and neck and then I leave it for a few minutes to absorb and work its magic before completing the next step.

S’able Labs Black Seed Toner is a fragrance-free, vegan and cruelty-free skincare product that is suitable for all skin types.

The third and final product is the Baobab Moisturiser (£50) and its sells itself as being ultra-hydrating, fast-absorbing, and radiance-boosting.

Lightweight and a delight to apply, this moisturiser is formulated with baobab seed, shea butter and squalane, the three ingredients coming together to ensure the moisturiser works to reduce water loss and lock in moisture for better-hydrated skin. You will also find the inclusion of Licorice Root which provides a soothing effect, eases redness and irritation, bakuchiol which helps to minimise wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, and then niacinamide and Tranexamic Acid which work together to minimise the appearance or dark spots and pores.

I adore this moisturiser, it sinks into the skin quickly, it is lightweight and non-greasy but also leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth to the touch.  Again, suitable for all skin types, S’able Labs Baobab Moisturiser is a fragrance-free, vegan and cruelty-free.

This is a great collection of skincare products which ive loved using and have no doubt it will only expand over time.  You can find all three of these products and others from the range right here.

Antipodes Lime Caviar Collagen-Rich Firming Cream

One of my favourite products ever is the Antipodes is the Aura Manuka Honey Mask, which I have shared quite a few times. Today I am back with the latest launches from the brand Lime Caviar Collagen-Rich Firming Cream.
Antipodes Lime Caviar Collagen-Rich Firming Cream
Described as being an anti-ageing organic face moisturiser to firm and plump-up skin, this AHA moisturiser is certified organic and vegan, and is suitable for most skin types, especially dry and mature. I have combination-oily skin, but with that, I am prone to dry patches of skin too, usually on my cheeks and on my forehead, so over the years ive come to learn that hydration is key.
Antipodes Lime Caviar Collagen-Rich Firming Cream
This cream from Antipodes is wonderfully thick, luxuriously rich in fact but don't let that put you off. Designed to be used in the morning to freshly cleansed skin after you have applied your favourite serum, you need just a small amount because a little goes a very long way. Despite the thickness of this cream, it does absorb really quickly without being greasy or tacky and, if like me you are already a fan of the brand, you will know it is packed with amazing ingredients, in this case there is three that are worthy of a mention.

Key Ingredients

  • Peptide compound Sepilift™ DPHP - A high-tech peptide compound, derived from nature, that boosts collagen
  • Lime caviar extract - Rich in AHAs, to improve skin texture and foster a radiant skin tone
  • Avocado Oil - Lipid rich, it is packed with nutrients and fatty acids to nourish
Plus it also includes COSMOS-certified fragrance of floral lime which really comes noticeable as you masage the cream onto you skin and it is a scent I absolutely adore, immediately uplifting without being too over-powering, it leaves me skin looking radiant.

As the name suggests, this is a Collagen-rich firming cream which has been designed to target the three signs of ageing by
  • supporting skin’s collagen production,
  • smoothing wrinkle appearance, and
  • plumping skin for a healthy, youthful glow.
The first thing I noticed when trying it for the first time was how firming it was, and now after using this moisturiser for a few weeks, there’s been a difference in the elasticity of my skin, It feels tighter and smoother.

On my skin, I love how soft, hydrated and smooth my face feels after using this cream, despite the thick texture, there has been no irritation or break-outs but my skin does feel firmer after a few weeks of using it, so I can't wait to see the difference over the coming weeks and months as I continue on this journey.

Priced around £35, you can find the Antipodes Lime Caviar Collagen-Rich Firming Day Cream on most websites.  It is also certified vegan by the UK Vegetarian Society and it is also worth noting that Antipodes is committed to re-purposing, reusing and recycling, including using recyclable boxes made from 100% biodegradable cardboard, as well as glass bottles, aluminium tubes and printing with 100% eco ink from vegetables.
