L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum

I am very much still wearing tinted serums rather than foundations currently and the last addition to my collection was kindly gifted to me by L'Oreal. The True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum is said to unite skincare and makeup with this innovative blend.  I have used a few similar products to this, one being from Revolution and other from Typology, so I was intrigued to see which I preferred.
L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum
This L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum is available in nine different shades, which for many won't be inclusive and L'Oreal does claim that each shade does cater for 99% of UK skin tones and whilst I suspect there will never be that shade for everyone, I do think brands have finally put more thought and research into the shades they offer.
Discover NEW True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum with 1% Hyaluronic Acid. The perfect match of skincare and makeup - this innovative formula combines the benefits of a skincare serum with the radiance and coverage of a foundation.
With 9 super blendable shades this sheer formula is able to easily blend on to a variety of skintones, leaving skin with a naturally luminous finish for a flawless nude look.
The no makeup, makeup trend is one I am most definitely a fan of, I like that natural, fresh skin look rather than that caked on, unnatural look that I was probably too big a fan of in my teens - foundation a few shades too dark, over lined eyes, thinly tweezed brows, yep we have all been there.  Now, as I have matured (lol) I am very much less is more.

This L'Oreal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, is a serum which uses the plumping power of Hyaluronic Acid Serum with the coverage of a foundation. Lightweight in texture and definitely more serum-like than foundation, I was sent shade 0.5-2 Very Light.  Whenever I am shade matched for a foundation, it is very rare that I move out of the lightest shade bracket, unless I have caught the sun.

L’Oreal have the following shades;

  • 0.5-2 Very Light
  • 2-3 Light
  • 3-4 Light – Medium
  • 4-5 Medium
  • 5-6 Medium – Tan
  • 6-7 Tan
  • 7-8 Tan – Deep
  • 8-10 Deep
  • 10.5-11 Rich Deep
Sitting inside a glass bottle, the Tinted serum clearly does have luminous particles within its formula and the serum is dispensed with the use of a pipette, which I either apply using my fingers and buff with a brush, or apply with a beauty  blender.  This serum is designed to instantly brighten the skin as well to even and hydrate and as it does conceal and hydrate all in one to create that natural, soft dewy look.
L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum
L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum
L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum
It does give a light to medium coverage to the skin and it does a really good job at blurring some imperfections, so if like me you suffer with a slight redness to the cheeks, it does help to conceal those really well.  The swatches shown above are unedited, so you can see what the shade looks like when it first comes out of the bottle, then as I blend it and finally as it is blended onto my skin, with the bottom photo swatches.

What I love is that you could use this Tinted Serum with or without a primer.  For me, if I am wanting to get out of the door in double quick time, I apply it as I would a serum without anything else and it lasts most of the day on my skin, fading slightly around the nose and cheeks first.  If I have a bit more time, I will prime and then apply before finishing with a loose powder to keep that mid-afternoon shine as much at bay as I can.

I mentioned earlier in this post that I had tried similar products from both Revolution and Typology, the latter being my absolute favourite and it still is. The difference for me between Typology and this L’Oréal serum is application and how my skin feels when using, though both have a dropper dispenser which is annoying to use.

This L’Oréal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum is widely available online via LookfantasticBoots and Superdrug where it ranges in price from £11 up to £13.99.

STYLPRO Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner

The Stylpro Brush Cleaner is one of my most used gadgets and I love it. Gone is that never ending chore of cleaning makeup brushes and leaving them to dry all over the house on various old towels.  Imagine, that that same kind of invention was created to clean your beauty blenders! Oh well here it is!
STYLPRO Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner
The Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner is an originally invented device, by the one and only Tom Pellereau aka Inventor Tom, who has only gone and designed this device to clean makeup sponges in 1 minute and leave them ready to use instantly - absolute genius!
The STYLPRO Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner deep cleans your sponges in 1 minute, squeezing and spinning them until they sparkle.
The Squeeze uses a combination of our specially made sponge cleanser and recently boiled water to clean your sponges of bacteria, makeup and dirt, leaving them ready to use instantly.
I use a beauty blender, makeup sponge whatever you prefer to call them all the time and for me, there has only been so many times you can 'clean' them before they look too grubby to even contemplate using, but now I can get a bit more use out of my beloved blenders before they are consigned to beauty blender heaven.

I was lucky enough to watch Tom demonstrate how to use the STYLPRO Squeeze during a live demonstration, whilst blindfolded and whilst it was one of the funniest things I have watched on Zoom in a long time, it was also amazing to see just how simple it is to use.

How to use
  • Dampen sponge and place in ‘bowl’. Soak your dirty makeup sponge in 20ml of ‘sponge sparkle’
  • For best results massage cleanser in using the ‘press’.
  • Carefully fill the ‘bowl’ to the fill line, with recently boiled water.
  • Push the button on the ‘press’, pull the handle up and lock the ‘press’ open.
  • Using the open ‘press’ knead the makeup sponge a few times against the ‘bowl’ base.
  • For best results wait 60 seconds. Scoop up makeup sponge, push the button on the ‘press’ and carefully squeeze it closed.
  • Attach the ‘pebble’ and spin your sponge to its former glory. Depending on how long ago you cleaned your sponge you may need to repeat this process!
I am really impressed that the STYLPRO squeeze comes with everything you need, there is no extra bits you need to buy, you know how annoying it is when you buy your niece or nephew a toy, only to find out it comes with extras and you haven't ordered them, well not with this.
STYLPRO Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner
STYLPRO Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner
Inside the box you get:
  • The main Press device
  • The Pebble spinning device and batteries
  • The Bowl
  • 85ml of Sponge Sparkle Vegan Certified Cleanser
Without question, I absolutely love this gadget, there actually isn't anything that Tom has invented so far that I haven't loved. In recent months I have shared the STYLPRO Glow & Go Mirror and the Luxury Makeup Brush Collection.

The STYLPRO Squeeze Makeup Sponge Cleaner usually retails around £39.99 but if youre quick, ASOS are selling it for just £30 and it is worth every single penny!

Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!

Nude by Nature is back in the UK and is on sale with Superdrug and I have been lucky enough to try out some of their products, perfect timing for a few upcoming Christmas Parties I have coming up. Created in Australia back in 2008, the brand started with a capsule collection of just three mineral foundations, a bronzer, finishing veil and a make-up brush. Now they have expanded massively and are known for their cruelty-free stance as well as the fact they are made with 100% natural ingredients.
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
Superdrug has unveiled Nude by Nature in 50 of its stores and it is also available online with priced starting as low as £10.49 which is an absolute steal for a brand of this quality.  I have five products from the 73 which are available and they include the following:
  • Perfecting Primer
  • Perfecting concealer - Porcelain Beige 02
  • Moisture Shine lipstick Pale Coral 05
  • Flawless Pressed Foundation C2 Pearl
  • Natural Illusion Eyeshadow Trio Nude
The Perfecting Primer (£16) is described as being a smoothing, silicone-free primer that creates an even base for make-up application, while helping to extend wear.
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
It has an un-tinted formula which is packed full of amazing ingredients such as Vitamin A for its anti-oxidant and anti-ageing properties, Vitamin E which also has anti-oxidant properties but is also moisturising. Then we have Kakadu Plum which I have come across in so many products of late and it is hailed as being the worlds richest source of Vitamin C and then finally we have Green Tea which again is full of anti-oxidants, is anti-ageing and also anti-inflammatory.

The Perfecting Concealer (£16) which is available in 8 different shades in total, is delightful to use and is so far, my most used product from this collection.
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!

Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
I have shade 02 Porcelain Beige and it is a pretty good match for my skin tone, though I could get away with wearing the lighter shade too.  Again, this concealer, which is a creamy liquid, easy to apply and doesn't cake (hurrah) after application is designed to cover dark circles, disguise puffiness, hyper-pigmentation and of course blemishes. As with the Primer above, this Concealer also features Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum and with them we have Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter and Floraesters and from this trio of goodness you get ingredients which soothe, nourish, protect and help to reduce fine lines, dryness and improve skin firmness!

With the base of your makeup complete, in comes the Flawless Pressed Foundation and I have the shade C2 Pearl (£20) and it is said to help even out complexion, cover imperfections and control oil and shine.
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
The powder is another product packed with incredible ingredients and you will again find Kakadu Plum, Vitamin E and then Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter which have been mentioned already. Added into this pressed foundation is Cehami Extract which works to hydrate and nourish the skin, Avocado Oil which has Vitamin A, B and D plus Kaolin Clay which helps to absorb excess oil and help smooth the skin.  Quite the powerhouse and it is also fragrance free.  The foundation, in its compact is really lightweight, I used a brush to apply to my skin and it does apply like a dream.

The next product is the Moisture Shine Lipstick (£12.99) which is described as being a colour-rich lipstick that delivers an effortless sweep of colour and luminous shine finish.
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
I have the shade Pale Coral 05 and when I saw the name I wasn't expecting to like the shade, however... it is absolutely stunning and so easy to wear, definitely perfect for day time wear and at any time of the year. With its really smooth, creamy texture, the ingredients within this lipstick include Vitamin E and the native Australian Kakadu Plum which help to provide antioxidant defences. Then there is the inclusion of nourishing Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil and then an ingredient called Ha Microspheres which are moisturising repairing and have plumping properties, coming together this lipstick is comfortable to wear, it is lightweight in texture and has an impressive colour payoff.

The final product to share with you is the Natural Illusion Eyeshadow Trio (£17.49) in Nude and it is absolutely beautiful and perfect for me as I love my nudes.
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
Nude by Nature - Now in Superdrug!
Nestled inside a gold palette with mirror and a double-ended brush, the trio of nudes are perfect for taking that natural daytime look to a smokey evening eye. The three shades which I would describe as being light brown, a medium toned brown and a then a champagne shade are enriched with those same active natural ingredients that have been mentioned already - Kakadu Plum and with it we have Sweet Almond Oil for its moisturising and conditioning properties, Quandong which has brightening and anti-oxidant properties, Desert Lime for its anti-oxidant properties but also because it supports skin hydration and then Sandalwood Kernal Oil which is rich in Omega 3,6 and 9 as well as being incredibly nourishing.

All of these products and so many more can be found online and in some stores with Superdrug and if you are looking for makeup which is cruelty-free, made from natural ingredients and cares and protects your skin as well as making you feel and look more fabulous, this is one to check out.

The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift

I have an incredible collection of gift guides coming up with The Body Shop and having already shared the three seasonal fragrance collections on my blog, today is one for the makeup lover in your life with the Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift (£20).
The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift
The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift
Packaged inside the most beautiful festive box you will find three products - Happy Go Lash Mascara, Smoky Eye Definer Pencil and then the Camomile Cleansing Butter, which as a trio is so cute.

The Happy Go Lash Mascara is described as being a black, everyday mascara which works to thicken and define the lashes, whilst being gentle.
The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift
The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift
Made with 93% ingredients of natural origin, the mascara is enriched with 93% ingredients of natural origin, including organic beeswax and Community Fair Trade organic virgin coconut oil, so not only is at as easy to remove as it is to apply, the ingredients also look after your lashes too.  What I like about this mascara is that it gives a natural look.  I have fairly long eyelashes, so anything with a formula that is too wet leaves my lashes looking dreadful.  The wand is also fairly easy to work with too, the bristles are fairly soft and thick and move between the lashes easily.

Eyeliner is something I don't go out of my way to purchase as I can live without it, but this Smoky Eye Definer Pencil is one I have really liked. It is available in black or brown and within this kit, it is the black shade.
The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift
It is incredible soft on the waterline and easy to glide along without pulling the delicate skin, plus as the pencil has a smudger on one end, if you want that more dramatic look, there is plenty of time to apply and then smudge, it isn't any eyeliner that doesn't budge before you have your chance.

Finally we have the Camomile Cleansing Butter which I am a huge fan of already and within this Makeup Gift, it is a smaller tin, perfect for your makeup bag!
The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift
If you haven't come across this Cleansing Butter before, you need to grab some. It has one of the softest textures I've ever used and it is designed to not only only be kind to your skin, but to also gently melt away your makeup, which it does in just a few seconds of being on your skin and I always use mine in conjunction with the Body Shop Muslin Cloths, which at £2.50 are amazing value for money.

The Body Shop Flutter & Flick Eye Makeup Gift is an incredible kit for just £20 and perfect for finding under the Christmas Tree as a Stocking Filler

IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK

I am a big fan of IT Cosmetics the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil-Free Matte which I wear pretty much every day if I’m not wearing a tinted moisturiser, I’ve lost count of the number of tubes I’ve gone through. I recently received a really lovely gift of products from the brand which are on sale on QVC, so I thought I would share them in this post and then do an update on everything I haven’t tried.
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
First up out of the box are two products I am a huge fan of - the Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil-Free Matte and the Your Skin But Better Setting Spray which form part of a Christmas set with Superstar Flawless Foundation Brush. This set is priced at £46.98. This set contains three full-sized products and you do get to choose your choice of shade, from the 12 available for the Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil Free Matte SPF40. As I have said, I am a huge fan of the CC+ Oil-Free Matte and was matched to the shade fair-light which works perfectly for me. On the skin, it is has a texture which isn't too thick, it blends really easily and it is really hydrating on the skin.
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
The Your Skin But Better Setting Spray is one I have now repurchased a few times because I love the formula as much as my skin does. Infused with Coconut Water, Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera this setting spray does a great job at looking after your skin as it does to prolong the wear time of your makeup without drying out your skin.

The one product I hadn't tried from It Cosmetics is any of their brushes and I just love the look of the Superstar Flawless Foundation Brush. This Foundation Brush for 2021 is described as being a custom-designed make-up tool to help ensure precision control. I absolutely love that it has the most incredible confetti designed handle and a stunning looking star-shaped brush, the bristles of which are incredibly soft and they are not only designed to reach every corner of your complexion, but to also deliver effortless application of liquid, cream and powder foundations and concealers. On its own, this brush is priced at £30!
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
Having never tried the brushes from It Cosmetics, also within the box is the Celebrate Your Heavenly Luxe On-the-Go Brushes set which are priced at £25. Alongside the exclusive travel pouch within which these brushes are housed, there is a trio of mini brushes which includes a mini Foundation Brush, a Mini Multi Powder Brush and a Mini Concealer Brush, all of which are supersoft and feature rose gold ferrules and handles to give them that Luxe detail.  A set of brushes every makeup fan needs to have with them in their collection.
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
The final offering I have for you comes in the form of skincare with the new Bye Bye Serums and I have seen so many people raving about just how good they are, so I am excited to try them out before sharing my thoughts and views on them with you.
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
IT COSMETICS NEWNESS AT QVC UK
There is a total of four serums within the collection and they are priced at a very reasonable £18 each, the one thing with a serum is that they tend to be the most expensive part of your skincare routine and the one I have just finished costs £130 for 15ml!

Within the serum collection is
  • Bye Bye Dark Spots - formulated with 4% niacinamide and 1% ethyl vitamin C, this serum helps reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration while helping to improve the look of your skin’s clarity
  • Bye Bye Dullness - formulated with 15% pure vitamin C and vitamin E, this formula helps boost radiance while giving skin a rested look and protecting it from external aggressors. Suitable for all skin types
  • Bye Bye Lines - formulated with 1.5% hyaluronic acid and helps deliver hydration to your skin, leaving it feeling smooth and supple while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Bye Bye Pores - formulated with 10% glycolic acid, this formulas helps minimise the appearance of pores while exfoliating to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth
This is an incredible collection of products which any beauty fan would be lucky to find under their tree this Christmas, my own included.  If It Cosmetics isn't a brand you are too familiar with, it is an award-winning make-up brand which hails from the US, their products are developed with plastic surgeons and dermatologists and they seek to create products that are game-changing in the beauty industry and when in the hands of real women become life-changing.

Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum

A good few months ago, the lovelies over at Physicians Formula kindly sent over a gift bag of products as a little pick-me-up in these uncertain times that we are living in. That bag, which I shared on my Instagram Stories was full of amazing products and as I start sharing them, the one product I have absolutely loved is the Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum.
Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum
This Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum is described as being an anti-oxidant packed, oil-free, pearluminous formula that helps tighten and brighten skin for a radiant glow.

Enriched with Rose Water to calm, soothe and hydrate skin and it is the scent the serum  has when used, though it doesn’t linger on the skin. Alongside the Rose Water, there is also the inclusion of antioxidant-rich Goji and Kakadu Plum – the richest Vitamin C source of any fruit.
Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum
Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum
Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum
As you can see, this product really does have a serum texture to it and with it, a pearlesque finish which makes it quite the multi-use product. You can use this serum as a highlighter, a face primer which gives the skin an amazing glow but you can also use it on its own or add a few drops into your moisturiser too.

I am really happy that this Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum can be used alone, under, or over makeup, it works so incredibly well in whichever way you choose to use it.  As well as being oil free, this serum is also Vegan, Cruelty-free, Hypoallergenic and paraban-free too.

You can find this Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum with LookFantastic for just £12.99 along with quite a selection of other products from the brand.

Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pencil Dark Brown

If there is one item of makeup that I don't go out of my way to purchase or get excited about, it is Eyeliner. As a product it tends to be something I wear for special occasions rather than being part of my everyday arsenal.
Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pencil Dark Brown
From Suqqu, a brand I am really enjoying getting to know, I have tried a few products from their skincare range and my introduction to the brand began at a Zoom Class centred about the Gankin Massage and then I have tried the Watery Protection SPF30 with a few other products still to share, but today is about the Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Dark Brown.

I have dark blonde hair, so a black eyeliner isn't always the shade I need and I am not quite brave enough to use those beautiful bright shades, despite being told I could pull most of them off because of the blueness of my eyes.  So I have been using the Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Dark Brown 02 Shade from Suqqu for a few months now and it is incredibly easy to use.
Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pencil Dark Brown
Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pencil Dark Brown
Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pencil Dark Brown
Described as being a silky smooth, long-wearing pencil, what I love is how easily glides onto the skin without snagging or dragging. It has an ultra-fine 2mm nib and because it is a Gel Eyeliner, it has a lovely creamy consistency which is packed with a lot of pigment, so if you like to tight-line your lashes or draw those pesky flicks then this is the pencil to do that with. As it is also water and oil-resistant, if you have watery eyes, then this eyeliner isn't going to budge too easily, though if you are quick after applying it, you can smudge it out.

This Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pencil is available in four other shades - Black, Navy, Light Brown and Grey and it is priced at £20 from Cult Beauty.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir Mascara

Balm Noir is the latest launch in the L'Oréal Volume Million Lashes mascara line and if you are a fan of L'Oreal Mascaras then this is one you are going to want to try.
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir Mascara
Mascara is one of my favourite makeup products and is something I am never without, the problem however is that I am really picky with a mascara formula. I cannot stand those really overly wet formulas which when applied make your eyelashes feel really wet and then everytime you blink, you splash your own face with flecks of product. I also don't like overly dry formulas, it has to sit somewhere in the middle, not giving me that spidery leg look if I want to apply more than one coat. The brush plays a big part in the application for mascaras, it has to work with the formula, partly why I am sure a fan of the Rollerlash wand from Benefit, though I prefer to use it with their They're Real formula.  Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir Mascara from L'Oreal is neither too wet or dry, it is an in-between but did I like it?

Said to have been designed for sensitive eyes, the L'Oréal Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir is made up of 99% natural ingredients, breaking that down further, it is said that 8% of those natural ingredients is actually the mineral black pigments which give that volume and intensity and the rest of the formula is a moisturising creamy balm that promises L'Oreal claims will coat your lashes like a leave in conditioner.  The brush, which is called the 'Millionizer' brush is made up of a multitude of bristles which work to separate and lift the lashes as well as ensuring each one if coated with the Mascara formula.  What I like about the brush is the flexibility of the bristles, they aren't incredibly rigid and do have some movement as you wiggle them through your lashes - this for me is always a bonus.
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Balm Noir Mascara
On the lashes, this mascara does glide on effortlessly and it is a balm like texture for the formula, it is slightly thicker than my usual mascaras but it isn't or doesn't give that clumpy look, but it does make my lashes look darker and slightly more defined.  The problem with having long lashes like I have, is you can never say that a mascara lengthens your lashes, but what I can say is that this mascara doesn't smudge or flake and it lasts pretty much all day - by that I mean from when I apply it around 7.30am until I get home from work around 6pm.

elf Cosmetics Wow Brow

When it comes to brows, there is one brand that I have used for well over 15 years, one whose name I don’t even need to say because their whole ethos is their brow game and Gimme Brow has been my go to product for as long as I can remember. Today I am sharing Wow Brow by elf Cosmetics, a product I’ve been using through lockdown.

I have barely brows, they just never seem to grow, despite using products which claim to grow them into anything you could ever refer to as bushy. From elf Cosmetics, Wow Nrow is described as being a buildable, fiber-infused brow gel that makes your natural brows look fuller.

This buildable wax-gel hybrid is enriched with Kaolin Clay and hair-like fibers that adhere to and enhance your brows.  The bow comes packaged in a small black tube and the spoolie at the end of the wand is very similar to other products that you might use.

Available in five different shades - Black, Brunette, Deep Brown, Neutral Brown and the shade I have which is Taupe. I have dark blonde hair, so Taupe is the shade which works best for me rather than neutral brown which is too dark.

To use, the instructions claim that you should brush and shape the gel into place and in doing so, your brows will immediately appear and look more voluminous, fuller, and naturally filled in. As you brush the short, bristled wand through your brows, it deposits the smallest hair-like fibres to boost the look of your brows and then once you have finished you can complete the rest of your brow look if needs be with a pencil or powder.

What I love about this product is that the tiny fibres the wand places within the brow really go help to give that fuller look and because this formula is buildable, the slightest of brows look a whole lot better.

Priced at just £6 Wow Brow from elf Cosmetics is an absolute bargain and is definitely a product I am more than happy to repurchase, it does an incredible job at making my brows look so much better!
