Pixi Beauty NutrifEYE Nourishing Eye Patches

I am already a huge fan of Pixi Beauty skincare and I adore the DetoxifEye Depuffing Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and the latest launch, the NutrifEYE are much welcomed into my routine right now.
Pixi Beauty NutrifEYE
Pixi Beauty NutrifEYE
Part of the Rose skincare family, these NutrifEYE patches are designed to restore and soothe that delicate eye area as well as to nourish.
Delight your under-eyes to the nourishing effects of these rose-infused hydrogel patches. Designed to soothe, soften and replenish the delicate under-eye area while minimising the appearance of redness.
Made from hydrogel, these masks are so incredibly soothing when applied to my undereye and even more so if they have been left to chill in the fridge, a tip from Petra, the brains behind the brand with the addition of storing them upside down to ensure the patches are moist.
Pixi Beauty NutrifEYE
These NutrifEYE under-eye patches are formulated with Rose Flower Extract which nourishes, Aloe Vera which softens and hydrates plus Chamomile to soothe.

Packaged inside a tub, inside there is an accompanying spatula which is perfect for helping to remove them from the tub, as they are made from hydrogel, they are incredibly delicate and easy to tear if not handled correctly.  For me, because they are a hydrogel formula, they stick much better to the skin than other branded eye patches I have used, they don't fall off easily which means you can still do the hoovering up whilst waiting to look fabulous.

All you need to do is leave them on for 10 minutes to work their magic and then if there is any serum left on the skin after use, pat it into the skin.  What I love about them is just how soothing and refreshing these patches are.

An absolute bargain at £22 for 30 pairs!

L’Occitane Almond Delightful Mist

The best L'Occitane range as far as I am concerned is the Almond Collection and there isn't a single product from that range I dislike. In recent weeks as part of a QVC offer, the L’Occitane Almond Delightful Mist was part of it and it is just delightful.
L’Occitane Almond Delightful Mist
L’Occitane Almond Delightful Mist
This Delightful Mist is described as being a lightweight emulsion which you spray on to the skin to hydrate, smooth and protect with the addictive scent of fresh almonds. Anyone who is familiar with the L'Occitane Almond Collection will recognise that subtle fresh scent.

Almonds are quite the ingredient and are not only known for their subtle fresh scent but also for their skin-loving properties which help to keep the skin nourished and moisturised. This particular mist is:
  • Enriched with almond oil and glycerine to moisturise your skin all day long.
  • Contains antioxidant properties which help to protect the skin from external aggressors, such as damages caused by pollution.
I have been using this mist after showering and before adding the L'Occitane Milk Concentrate, which really helps to bring that Almond scent to life and linger on the skin. Together, with the Almond Shower Oil (my HG) it is a great little routine, though it is also perfect for using on the go too!

I hope to see L'Occitane make it a permanent feature of their mist range!

How To Take Care Of Your Nails

Your nails are important. They actually are a great indicator of your overall health, so it’s a good idea to keep them as healthy as possible to begin with. That way, should something change, you’ll be able to notice much sooner and get medical attention to determine what the issue might be. Plus, taking care of your nails means they always look good, and you’ll feel confident in yourself. So if you want to know how to take care of your nails, keep reading for some useful advice.
How To Take Care Of Your Nails

Wash Your Hands
One of the best things you can do for your nail health - and your health in general - is to wash your hands regularly throughout the day. You should always do this after using the bathroom, of course, and if you touch anything that could be dirty, but when it comes to your nails, you need to make sure you are doing things right.

This is why it’s a good idea to wash your hands thoroughly at least once a day. That is, more than the standard hand washing you would do at regular intervals and when required. You can choose to do this either before bed or as part of your morning routine so that you don’t forget about it. During this time, you can use a nailbrush to clean your nails more deeply and to remove any dead skin.

Don’t Remove The Cuticle
The cuticle of your nail is very important; it keeps the area at the base of your nail protected by creating a seal around it. If that seal is broken - perhaps because you have cut the cuticle or trimmed it too much - bacteria can get into the skin and under the nail, causing an infection. Nails can even be lost in this way.

If you have an issue with your cuticles, try to leave them alone until you can see a specialist who will be able to handle them in the correct way. If they need to grow back, try wearing sticking plasters over your fingers to protect the area until things are back to normal.

Use Supplements
Supplementing your diet with essential vitamins and minerals can greatly benefit the health of your nails. Biotin, Zinc, and Vitamin E have proven their worth in strengthening nails while stimulating growth. Vegan collagen supplements also contain amino acids which promote nail strength. Moreover, make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day and drink plenty of water - healthy nails begin from within!

Stop Chewing Your Nails
A lot of people have a nervous habit of biting or chewing their nails, and this can cause a lot of problems. To begin with, it will make your nails look unattractive and uncared for. It can also damage your teeth, especially if you bite your nails for many years. Plus, the nail itself can become damaged and fragile. The best thing you can do to protect yourself is to stop chewing your nails.

This is easier said than done because it is often an unconscious act - you don’t realise you’re doing it until after it’s done. If that’s the case for you, you could get some great nail supplies at NSI Nails and take time over making your nails look gorgeous. Not only will you not want to chew them, but it will be a lot harder to as well if they have gel on them, for example. This will make it obvious to you that you’re doing this, and it will help you actively prevent yourself from continuing.

Creating A Beauty Room (Or Space) In Your Home And What You Should Consider

Within a home, there are many dream spaces we all would love to create. One of these could be a beauty room. There might be a small spare room in the house that you want to turn into the beauty room of your dreams. A place you can retreat to when you want to get ready for the day or an event. If you don’t have additional rooms, you could turn part of your bedroom or spare room into your ideal beauty space.
Creating A Beauty Room (Or Space) In Your Home And What You Should Consider

For those looking to create a beauty room (or space) in their home, here are a few key factors worth considering to help you get started.

Fresh Coat Of Paint
Adding a fresh coat of paint to a room can make a noticeable difference. The space can be brighter almost instantly, and the walls look a little cleaner. Choose a colour that suits the aesthetic of your beauty room. Along with a fresh coat of paint, you might also decide to wallpaper one of the walls. This could make a nice feature wall and backdrop for any glam photos you want to take. Wallpapering can be tricky to get perfect. Trying to align the paper, so the prints match and blend seamlessly can be a stressful experience.

To avoid this stress and ensure the wallpaper matches, you could recruit professional help. Search MyBuilder for painters and decorators near you to not only add your wallpaper but paint your walls as well. This way, you can rest assured that your beauty room will have no air bubbles on the wallpaper or slightly patchy paintwork on the walls.

Choice Of Vanity
One main component of a beauty room or space is the vanity. The space where you sit and store your beauty belongings. You should choose one that fits in with the space's aesthetic and is durable.

Spend time searching for the ideal vanity unit, but ensure you have measured the space first. This helps you avoid finding the perfect vanity only to have the heartbreak of it not fitting the space you wanted.

In addition, look for additional storage units to go next to or under your vanity. These can be a great addition to any other beauty products and tools. You can store them in easy-to-access spaces, which helps to keep the space clean and tidy.  Plus, before adding additional items, think about using a TV Rental to make the most of the space you have, before looking for a permanent solution.

Plenty Of Light
Without question, one of the most crucial aspects to consider when creating a beauty space or room for yourself is lighting. The right lighting makes the biggest difference. Not just in lighting a space with natural light but for a beauty space. For instance, how your makeup looks under artificial light could look completely different in natural light. Hence why having plenty of light in your beauty space is essential.

Choose an area with good natural lighting when designing your beauty space or room. You could place your vanity in front of a window, allowing you to use natural light to do your makeup, not turning on your main light source. Of course, you will want to ensure that you have plenty of other lighting options in case there is not enough natural light.

As you prepare to design your beauty room of dreams, keep some of the above tips in mind. They could help you to bring your dream beauty room to life.

Wild Deodorant

If you hadn't heard, Wild deodorant is the world-first, plastic-free and sustainable natural deodorant that loudly shouts it is here to change the planet, and our way of thinking.
Wild Deodorant
As a beauty blogger, I am all too aware about packaging waste and how important it is to do my bit. I have already stopped using wipes, many years ago, In fact as they just irritated my skin, I don't use cotton wool pads, I switched to reusable pads a few years ago now and haven't looked back. I also have a bundle of products that I can re-fill and that is one of the plus points with Wild Deodorant, it is a re-fill, it is a subscription service and it might just have won me over.

This is a reusable deodorant applicator and it is made from aluminium so will last you a whole lifetime, better still, Wild state that every time you refill your case, you will save 30 grams of plastic going to landfill. Unlike the other deodorants I use, this one doesn't contain aluminium salts, instead you will find the likes of tapioca starch which works to absorb moisture throughout the day and to keep you feeling fresh.
Wild Deodorant
I'm not one of those overly sweaty people, but I am self-conscious about not smelling of body odour, and that is the only reason I had yet to switch to a more natural deodorant. However, Wild is an all-natural product which has no sulphates, aluminium or parabens plus, it has been dermatologically approved so it won't disturb PH levels.

The Subscription or High Street

Wild deodorant is a subscription service and it starts with the purchase of the starter pack which is just £12 and for that you get a reusable case and a refill in the scent of your choice. It is worth noting that there is a choice of 7 scents to choose from. From then on, you'll be charged £15 every 8-14 weeks (depending on the schedule you've chosen) and the package you receive will feature 3 refills, so it is just £5 per re-fill.

If you decide the subscription isn't for you, then the good news is that you can get the starter kit and one re-fills from the high-street and you can find Wild stocked in a variety of different places both online and on the high-street such as - Holland & BarrettSelfridgesSainsbury’sBoots and AmazonHowever, using my code Beautyqueen will give you 20% off but it is only valid until the 31st March!

The Re-fill

Depending on your usage, the re-fill should last 2-3 months and it is so easy to put together and use. When your package arrives, you will find the aluminium case and a re-fill which you need to connect together.
Wild Deodorant
Thankfully, the box which your package arrives in does explain how to put your deodorant together in seconds, but it honestly could not be more simple. It is simply a case of slotting the refill into the slot by twisting the base of your Wild Natural Deodorant case clockwise all the way down to the bottom. Then on the side of the case you will see two buttons which you need to press and this gives you the ridged slow where you place the refill and then you are ready to go.
Wild Deodorant
Wild Deodorant
As mentioned, Wild has got 7 scents to choose from and each one is packed full of premium natural ingredients that work to stop the growth of odour-causing bacteria whilst at the same time working to keep your armpits smooth and moisturised.

My Experience

The one thing that worried me the most about switching to a natural deodorant was the unknown. Having mentioned I am self-conscious about not smelling of body odour, especially as my sense of smell is practically non-existent after Covid, so I have to rely on other people to tell me about scents and smells.  I also read that it can take a few weeks for your body to adjust to a natural deodorant and thankfully, I have not had a single issue with body odour at all.

I use 2-3 swipes of the deodorant stick under my arms, I have the scent Fresh Cotton and Sea Salt:
Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt
Energising and clean. Like freshly-laundered linen drying in a salty, seaside breeze.
In a nut shell, that is exactly the scent. It is incredibly fresh scented but also reminds me of a blustery walk down the promenade taking in that fresh sea air and I can't get enough of it.  So I put it to the test over the course of a few busy days of having to get the tube and anyone who uses the Central Line will know despite the weather outside, it is hotter than the depths of hell and you sweat from places you didn't know you could sweat from. But... I am so delighted that I did not get to work and back home again a sweaty mess, there was no musty odour and I didn't feel the need to switch back to my usual deodorant, I am so far still using Wild and that in itself is quite the win!

It is fair to say Wild has won me over and I have already got my refills ready to go. So,
if you want to try Wild Deodorant for yourself, my code Beautyqueen will give you 20% off but it is only valid until the 31st March!

Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?

If you have taken a stroll down the middle aisle of Aldi in recent weeks, you will have noticed an explosion of products within the Lacura range - The ProNight Advanced Range getting a lot of attention as well as the Perfect Nude Lip Range which sold out as quickly as baskets were filled, though thankfully I did manage to grab one of each.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
The Perfect Nude Lip Range has been likened to products from the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk collection and whilst there is some similarity within the shades, not so much with the packaging, but as ever, here is a look at each product. Priced at £2.99, the Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range features a Lipstick, Lip Liner and Lip Gloss, all of which are described to boast a "stunning universal nude-peach shade".

The Lacura Perfect Nude Lipstick (£2.99, 3.5g) is sold in a pretty pastel pink box which clearly labels the product inside. The lipstick bullet itself is silver in colour, not gold like its Pillow and it is more of a triangular shape than cylindrical, in the middle of the silver tube is the letter L for Lacura. At first glance, it doesn't look or feel like a lipstick that has cost £2.99, it is quite weighty in your hands.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
The lipstick bullet itself does look very similar to the original Pillowtalk shade in natural light and it is said to offer a buildable and high colour payoff to give a velvety soft matte look with a hint of highlight. The texture of both Charlotte Tilbury and Aldi Lacura are very different, Tilbury is much smoother than Lacura and the latter slightly more chalky but not too drying. Enriched with Moon Orchard Plant and carefully formulated with specially selected waxes, this Lacura Perfect Nude Lipstick is designed to ensure the colour effortlessly glides to give a flawlessly hydrated finish.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
On the lips, I am a huge fan of the colour, it is a shade, like Pillowtalk, that will suit pretty much everybody, but what has really impressed me is the longevity because it lasts all day, doesn't transfer as much as I had expected, infact it is barely noticeable. So impressive for £2.99.

The second product within this trio is the Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Liner (£2.99, 1.2g) and again, there are some similarities to the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Keeping with the theme of silver metallic packaging, this lip liner is sleek in design and again, for the price it definitely doesn't have that budget feel to it. If anyone does get their hands on this product, I would suggest sharpening it first because it is slightly tough and drags a little, but as soon as I had sharpened, it was a breeze to use and I absolutely love the shade, it is also really creamy when applied and could be used on its own as a lip colour.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Again, it is formulated with a blend of Coconut Oil and Soya Bean Oil which work to offer a seamless and moisturising finish. This lip liner is everything it claims to be - long lasting, non-transferring and it has a smooth and velvety texture.

The final product within this trio is the Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Gloss (£2.99, 2.7ml). This Lip Gloss was a bit of a surprise for me because I haven't stopped wearing it since I bought it.  Described as being a dupe of the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre Lip Lacquer, Pillow Talk, but again there are only a few similarities.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
Again, this lip gloss is packaged so beautifully it looks much more than a high street brand, packaged in a clear glass tube with a silver lid, it keeps in design with both the Lip Liner and Lipstick. This Gloss is enriched with Collagen, Coconut Oil, Vitamin A and also includes Mint Oil, so it not only leave your lips feeling smooth, soft and moisturised it also has an aromatic scent creating a refreshing feel.
Aldi Lacura Perfect Nude Lip Range - Charlotte Tilbury Dupes?
It isn't sticky or tacky when applied and as it is sheer, it works wonderfully well with the lip liner and lipstick or on its own.

Aldi Lacura is a cruelty-free beauty brand and this launch of its new line-up of luxe makeup must-haves are priced from £2.99.

Lush Grass Shower Gel

I do love a good Lush shower gel and despite The Comforter still not being a permanent Lush fixture as a shower gel, aside from Snow Fairy, I still want to try everything else on offer, today it is turn of Grass.
Lush Grass Shower Gel
In recent weeks having tried Lush King of Skin Body Butter, this shower gel is described as being gorgeously green and uplifting, this shower gel is not only packed full of green wheatgrass juice it also uses the delightful uplifting scent of bergamot too. Perfect for that time when you want a shower gel that doesn't only have a wonderfully fresh scent, Grass also leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, not to mention my entire house.
Lush Grass Shower Gel
As always with a Lush product, it is packed full of amazing ingredients and within this shower gel alongside the Wheatgrass which is said to be a powerhouse of nutrients that give a fresh, bright and toned condition to the skin and hair it is also rich in vitamins A and E and superoxide dismutase - antioxidant compounds that help maintain the skin firm, you will find:
  • Sandalwood which has a warm sweet woody scent and its oil is an astringent, emollient and soothing to the skin
  • Neroli which is both floral and citrus in scent is renowned for its uplifting and stress-relieving effects
  • Bergamot with its sweet and fruity and with its zesty fragrance it is not only refreshing and uplifting but also clears the mind and encourages a sense of well-being

Susanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serum

My love for the Susanne Kaufmann brand started with the trio of bath oils which I’ve since gone on to repurchase many times since. The next product, which was in the Latest in Beauty Advent Calendar, is the Eye Rescue Serum and it is delightful.
Susanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serum
Previously known as the Eye Rescue Stick Line A, the Eye Rescue Serum is said to have been reformulated to not only bring you the same indulgent benefits, but with it, the addition of what is referred to as being a set of intelligent new ingredient complexes from the Alpine region, this is now even more sustainable and efficacious. Infused with antioxidant baobab pulp and chicory root extracts, hawthorn flower extract as well as caffeine and together they work to reduce the look of dark circles, lines and puffiness. If that isn't enough, there is also the addition of hyaluronic acid which helps to hydrate dry skin.
Susanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serum
Susanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serum
As you can see, this serum is designed as a roll-on stick making it quick and easy to use with little mess or wastage and as the roller-ball comes into contact with the under-eye, it is instantly soothing and cooling and is perfect for freshening and awakening those tired eyes.

For me, my under-eye is always dehydrated, so an eye cream or a serum is a must-have for me. What I love about the Susanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serum is that it is quick and convenient to use. I love the feeling of the coolness of the roller-ball as it massages the delicate eye area while at the same time delivering an array of antioxidants and nutrients which work to ward against the stress induced by screens and UV light.

Perfect to be used as part of your morning skincare routine before applying your eye cream and it is also a product which is ideal for refreshing touch-ups throughout the day.

Priced at £85 this Eye Rescue Serum from Susanne Kaufmann is at the higher end of the budget but an absolutely stunning product.

Feather & Down Self Care Serenity Gift

With sleep not really being my friend, I am a bit of a fan of trying heated eye masks, pillow mists, calming bath and shower products, weighted blanket and even white noise in the hope sleep comes and stays.   Feather and Down believe there is very little more important than a good night's sleep and for that, they have created an award-winning range of products which work together, or on their own to encourage and aid a restful nights sleep and today I am sharing the Self Care Serenity Gift Set, which also makes a lovely set for Mothers Day (Sunday)!.
Feather & Down Self Care Serenity Gift
As a brand, Feather & Down have some amazing products which don't cost the earth but are incredibly well presented and this gift set is a prime example, it is priced at just £11 and widely available from the likes of Amazon,

The Self Care Serenity Gift Set contains a 50ml Cooling Body Lotion and a 10ml rollerball and they use the lavender/chamomile essence, a scent which is for me, one I identify Feather & Down with.
Feather & Down Self Care Serenity Gift

The Cooling Body Lotion is described as being calm and cooling on the skin, a well known sleep fact is that the feel of cooling and gentle application of the lotion in a steady massage movements can help to reduce stress, so perfect for use before bed time. For me, I have to be cool when going to sleep, so I use a silk pillow case for example to avoid a hot pillow situation.  What I like about this lotion is that it instantly cools, especially after a shower and if you like the Feather & Down scent, then this lotion simply compliments the shower/bath essence.

The Sweet Dreams Relaxing Roll On once again has that signature Feather & Down scent to it and it is ideal for using on your pulse points as and when you feel the need to use it and because of its size, it is handy for having in your handbag, travel bag, on your desk and bedside table.

This set is an Amazon exclusive for £11 HERE, but if you're a fan of the brand, then you will also find it stocked in Boots and Superdrug too.

Creightons Skincare

Creightons skincare, which was established in 1954, is a multi Award Winning British Company who design, create and manufacture a wide-range of skincare, hair care and well-being products. All of their products are made with the highest quality formulations and packaging and are 100% cruelty-free and where possible our products are vegan friendly.  I was kindly sent a selection of skincare products from Ceightons to try from their extensive range of offerings.
Creightons Skincare
Starting with the Creightons Salicylic Acid Foaming Clay Cleanser which retails between £2 and £3.99 and is widely available from places like Amazon, Savers, Morrisons and even B&M.

This cleanser uses a combination of Kaolin Clay alongside Salicylic and Lactic Acids which come together to help absorb excess oil whilst at the same time helping to maintain healthier, clearer looking skin.

Unfortunately for me, as much as I really love this texture and how it feels on my skin, after doing a patch test, which I do with any product featuring Kaolin Clay, I had a reaction, so I didn't use it on my face.  However, I did ask a friend to give it a try and she, like me also has combination/oily skin and unlike me, has no issues with using clay as an ingredient.

On the skin, this cleanser is soothing on the skin and once applied, it kind of activates with the use of warm water where you can hear the slightest fizzing but it doesn't foam to much, so you won't end up with a face of bubbles like other foaming products. Again, it was easy to remove using a cloth and warm water and it didn't leave the skin feeling stripped of moisture or taut.

The next products I have to share are serums and the first one is the Vitamin C Superfruits 2% Hydrate and Glow Serum.
Creightons Skincare
Described as being ideal for a dull complexion and uneven skin tone, this serum is non-greasy essence which is easy to apply using the dropper and it melts quickly into the skin.  As it melts into the skin, it is said to release beneficial ingredients such as Vitamin C, natural fruit acids and enzymes which work to hydrate and enhance your natural glow.

As a serum, it is quite runny, so for me it is more of an essence and it can be used on its own or you could add a few drops to your moisturising cream.

The second serum I have is the Salicylic Intense Serum which is formulated with 2% Salicylic Acid.
Creightons Skincare
This serum again has a fairly runny texture, though it is slightly less runny than the Vitamin C Superfruits 2% Hydrate and Glow Serum shown above.  Using its  formulation of 2% Salicylic Acid, it is said to be an effective ingredient which helps to reduce the appearance of blackheads, blemishes and pores; for a clearer, more radiant complexion.

This is my favourite serum of the two from the Creightons range, but it also just so happens that my skin is a fan of Salicylic Acid too.  Again, not greasy or tacky when applied to the skin, it does absorb almost immediately on contact and it does leave my skin feeling smooth to the touch, but as I don't have many blackheads or blemishes I can't account for the effects it has on them.

The Creightons Skincare range does sit within the budget skincare category and can be found via Amazon, B&M, Savers, Morrisons and it is priced below £5 and is suitable for anyone to use.
