Benefit Cosmetics Complexionista Palette

One thing Benefit does really well, apart from Brows and Mascara of course, is Palettes!  The Complexionista Palette was actually a gift from one of my closest friends and it is just a brilliant all-rounder, everything you need in one place palette.

This limited-edition complexion and contour palette includes a Signature Tips and Tricks guide which is designed to help you use the products included to get the best out of them.  So whether you want to hide any imperfections then your best friend on this palette will be boi-ing industrial strength concealer, if you want to warm up your complexion then there is a choice of using either hoola lite or its big sister, the original hoola.

This palette is still available now via Benefit Cosmetics and it retails for just £26.50 here. Have you tried this palette?

Sensse Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush

I love using facial brushes, the ones which pretty much do the job of cleansing and exfoliating for you whilst you just press a button and let it do its thing. I've been using them for 4-5 years now and am not sure I would readily give them up to go back to doing it myself, I feel they do a much better job than I would or could.

New to me is the SENSSE™ Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush. Described as being a smart cleansing brush that combines thorough cleansing and anti-ageing in one device. All the silicone bristles are kind and gentle to the skin while also drawing out any dirt and impurities for healthy-looking, glowing skin. With a unique bristle pattern to follow the contours of the face for deep cleansing and exfoliation.
Sensse Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush
Until now I had never come across the brand Sensse before but on their website, they have a whole host of beauty tools and they described themselves as follows:
Beauty is more than skin deep; it is about showing the beauty in your soul. At SENSSE™, we believe beauty starts from within. We create products for every complexion problem to bring out the best in your skin – and in you – to embrace your true beauty. SENSSE™ brings you a skincare routine that understands your skin’s needs and is designed especially for you. When your skin looks good, you feel good and you’re ready to show the world your beauty.
The SENSSE Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush And Exfoliator is a pastel pink palm sized cleansing brush that delivers thousands of pulsations a minute cleansing your skin far more effectively than we are able to with our hands alone. On the brush are three different bristle types - deep cleansing, sensitive and anti-ageing. These bristles are made from silicone so they don't scratch the skin and the unique bristle pattern, which you can see below is also designed to follow the contours of your face for a deep cleanse and exfoliation.

There are also six intensity levels which gives you the ability to tailor the device to the needs of your skin. So whether you want gentle cleansing or a deep exfoliation, working your way through those settings to find the perfect one for you is really easy to do.

Using the device is incredibly really easy. All you need to do is press the power button on the brush and it begins to vibrate immediately, at this point you press the up and down arrow buttons at both sides of the power button which adjust the speed. Once you have found your desired vibration speed you gently glide the brush over your skin for 15 seconds on each part of the face. You can use any of your favourite cleansers with this brush and I have also used a few exfoliating products with it too and again, it works really well. The final way to use this brush is with your moisturising cream and this is something I do like to use this brush for.  I apply my cream of choice to my face and then use the brush to massage it into my skin, quite a relaxing process.

This brush has quite a few features which are worth noting and they include:
  • Built-In Timer - The pulsation pauses every 15 seconds to remind you to move onto a new area.
  • Long Battery Life - Up to 180 uses per charge from the internal battery that's easily charged with included USB cable.
  • Auto Shut-Off - The device will switch off after 3 minutes of inactivity to save battery life.
  • Waterproof - You can safely and conveniently use it in the bath or shower without damaging the device.
I am really impressed with this brush, it is easy to use, easy to charge, it works really well with exfoliating and it doesn't cost a fortune to purchase.  So if you want to give one of these silicone cleansing brushes a try, then Sensse offer the purse friendly option, which in my opinion does just as good as job as other brands out there on the market that I have tried, but at a fraction of the cost.

Latest In Beauty | Sunday Times Style Beauty Box

If you haven't seen or heard about the latest beauty box collaboration between Latest in Beauty and Sunday Time Style to celebrate the 2018 Style Beauty Awards, then you might very well have missed out on getting your hands on what is a fantastic box and all for just £25.

Choosing SIX products from a total of 67 was quite the challenge and it was one I dithered over for some time before finally being lucky enough to get the ones I really wanted to try. Brand choices included Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, The Body Shop, Bourjois, Jessica, Elemis, Philip Kingsley, Real Techniques, Dr Dennis Gross, Caudalie, Lancome, Clinique and many more. Some products would be snapped up just as soon as the stock was replenished and even now there are still some amazing products to put together to make up a fabulous box.  I really wanted to try the Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Moisture Cushion, which I have heard and read a lot about, but it was out of stock when I made my purchase.  Instead, this is what I chose for my box:

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips in shade Pin Up Pink (rrp £24) - This is described as being a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and whilst pink wouldn't usually be a shade I would opt for, what I like about this particular shade is the warmness.

With a satin finish, the mousse-like texture is lightweight when applied and is pigmented enough that it covers the lips evenly.

Real Techniques Powder Bleu Powder Brush (rrp £22) - This is one set of Real Techniques brushes that I don't own. I am pretty sure I have every other collection, so without question, this is one brush I needed to add to my stash.

This brush uses synthetic bristles engineered to perform as well as blue squirrel hair and has a large tapered head designed for flawless application of powder bronzers and highlighters.

The Body Shop Spa of the World Tahitian Tiare Bath & Shower Oil-In-Gel (rrp £7) - It was the description of this bath and shower oil-in-gel which sold it to me - "Everyone loves a pamper day at a luxurious spa as a special treat, which, let’s face it, doesn’t happen often. When it comes to a moment of pure escapism – which should definitely be a regular thing – maybe all you really need is a nice hot shower in the comfort of your own home, with this extra-special Spa of the World Bath & Shower Oil-in-Gel".

For me, when stress takes hold, the one place I find to calm down is in water - the bath, shower, the sea or even a swimming pool. Using monoi oil, a blend of tiaré blossom extract and coconut oil from Tahiti alongside Community Trade honey from Ethiopia and Community Trade coconut oil from Samoa, I am sure you can imagine just how divine this product is.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand in Light (rrp £29) - Ever since these launched I have been fascinated by the cushion applicator, which makes it looks really easy to use.

With the shade light being the perfect shade for me to try it is described as being the perfect lightweight, blendable, buildable formula to create a well-contoured face.

The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Facial Mask (rrp £17) - Enriched with matcha green tea from Kakegawa, Japan, dandelion extract and soul-soothing Community Trade aloe vera from Mexico.

This mask is described as being indulgently creamy this 100% vegan mask works to deeply purify, gently exfoliate as it cleans your skin from the weekly build-up of city pollutants and everyday impurities.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (rrp £9) - A product I have wanted to try for some time now. Described as being a powerful, deep cleansing balm, for those who love a double cleanse, this balm is the ideal second step as it dissolves makeup, daily grime and pollutants, leaving skin intensely cleansed, nourished and renewed for a glowing complexion.

Using luxurious rose and mimosa waxes which are infused with nourishing elderberry, starflower and optimega oils and supercharged with anti-ageing algae, padina pavonica. It smells just incredible and I cannot wait to see if it lives up to my expectations.

As you might imagine, I am absolutely chuffed with this box and am delighted I was able to get my hands on some amazing products.  In total, this box has an RRP of £108 and I paid just £25.

Did you manage to grab anything for yourself from this collaboration?
