No7 Future Renew Skincare Review

Let me introduce you to a range of beauty products that has been hyped, coveted, covered, reviewed and raved about more than any other launch I can think of - the Boots No7 Future Renew Skincare collection.
No7 Future Renew Skincare
The No7 Future Renew Skincare was released back in April and I was kindly gifted all four of the products which I wanted to put to the test and really try them out. If you want to give them a try for yourself, rumour has it they will be making an appearance in the No7 Advent Calendar or if you are too impatient, there is a cute gift set featuring all four products here.

Background

Impressively, 15 years of research at the University of Manchester has gone into this range, tested by over 4000 women tested with 79% of those women reporting improvements in firmness, texture, tone and hydration. The range contains a super peptide blend which is described as being the biggest cosmetic scientific innovation in the history of No7 that is designed to ‘bio-hack’ the skin’s own regenerative processes, or simply put, it is designed to take what the skin does already and give it a turbo-charge by renewing more than 50 key proteins found within skin. Unless you’ve been living in a shell, Peptides are a very popular ingredient right now and everyone is raving about it. The patented Peptcology™ used in this range contains a blend of peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and niacinamide, together they target hydration, tone, texture, elasticity and the production of collagen with the main aim being to reverse the visible signs of skin damage. Quite the ask!

The four products within this range can be used as part of your existing skincare routine or you can use them to create a routine.

Starting with the Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum (£38.65): For me, a serum has to be just that. This serum has a really lightweight texture that absorbs incredible quick and easily without being sticky or tacky but anyone who has used the Benefit POREfessional primer will be familiar with how that feels on the skin, this is similar. It uses niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, mulberry and hydrolysed rice proteins which claims to work to reverse the visible signs of skin damage, including appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, uneven tone and texture, dry skin, and less elastic and firm feeling skin in just four weeks.

I’m at the age where those fine lines are attempting to make their appearance and of course I’ve mentioned the dry skin patches that I have - the joys of combination skin. So this serum does work its magic to turn that uneven, dryness to a smoother base. I really liked using this serum, not my favourite of the four products, but one I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up again.

Keeping with serums, the next produce is the Future Renew Eye Serum (£22.45): For any product that is designed to be used near my eyes, I’m not wanting something akin to Vaseline or anything that is too thick. Delightfully, this serum is incredibly lightweight that it absorbs immediately upon application and again using a blend of the super peptide blend, this eye serum contains hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C and rice proteins.

As someone who doesn’t sleep well, dark circles are a concern along with puffiness and what this serum absolutely does is make the eye area brighter and more wide awake. It doesn’t irritate or sting when applied and it is a great base for applying concealer.

The final two products in this range are creams - one for the day time and one for the evening.

The first cream is the Future Renew Day Cream SPF40 (£31.45): As with the other products within this range, along with that main peptide blend is an antioxidant blend of niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and rice proteins, not forgetting the SPF40, which I think is quite impressive.

On the skin, this is quite a thick textured cream which takes a bit of massaging for it to be absorbed fully, but with the addition of an SPF, I’m happy with that, it does leave a slight sheen afterwards, but I’ve enjoyed using it and my skin feels soft and smooth to the touch.

The final product is the Future Renew Night Cream (£31.45)and I just love it. As it is a night cream, there is no SPF or Vitamin C as neither are needed as you sleep, but it is luxuriously rich and nourishing thanks to the inclusion of Shea Butter. You will also find the inclusion of isoparaffin, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and of course the super peptide blend.

After double cleansing and then applying this cream to the skin, the following morning im left with skin that feels bouncy, nourished and soothed.

It’s fair to say this range of products have exceeded my expectations, though I feel a lot of products from the No7 range are not given the love they deserve.

If you have skin that is dull, dry, tired-looking as well the loss of elasticity, an uneven texture and tone, then this is the range you should absolutely try, especially when the products are more often than not on an offer at Boots.

Explore Ballyclare: Top things to see and do in the area

Set on the river banks of the Six Mile Water, Ballyclare is a charming town in Northern Ireland’s County Antrim. It was originally established as a river crossing and flourished as an industrial town in the 19th century following the construction of several paper mills in the area. Today, Ballyclare is a relaxed base for exploring the natural and cultural attractions of County Antrim while also being within easy access to Belfast.

In this article, discover some of the top things to see and do in Ballyclare to help you plan your next holiday. An inspiring choice of accommodation is available online at rentola.co.uk, which lists apartments in the centre of Ballyclare and spacious homes in its scenic surroundings. Due to the town’s compact size, you’re never more than a short walk or drive from Ballyclare’s main attractions, which range from a picturesque golf course to a beloved garden nursery.

Visit the War Years Remembered Museum

Established in 1994, this engaging museum explores the area’s cultural heritage related to the events of World War I and World War II. Its collection of military artefacts, uniforms and weaponry spans over 100 years, with old photographs helping to bring the past to life. You can get up close to vintage vehicles and medals awarded to local soldiers, as well as hear stories from those whose lives were impacted by the conflicts of the 20th century.

Relax in Six Mile Water Park

Named after the river that flows through its heart, this picturesque green space extends to the southwest of Ballyclare’s town centre. It encompasses 37 acres of open parkland that includes tennis courts and a children’s playground, as well as a duck pond with an observation deck. Six Mile Water Park is the ideal place for a stroll, with several different walking trails to explore. If you’re feeling energetic, you can exercise at the outdoor gym or just relax with a picnic in the pavilion.

Explore the Ballyrobert Gardens

A short drive south of Ballyclare is this Royal Horticultural Society garden, which was established around 300 years ago as a small farm. It has since been landscaped to blend into the surrounding countryside and plays an important role in trialling the success of plants. While exploring the gardens, you can learn about the 4,000+ plants that are grown here and even purchase some of the varieties at the onsite nursery.

Play a round at the Ballyclare Golf Club

Nestled amidst the rolling hills to the north of town is the Ballyclare Golf Club, which centres around a challenging, 18-hole parkland course. It was originally founded in 1923 and is renowned for its tree-lined fairways dotted with sparkling lakes. After your round, you can mingle with the locals in the convivial clubhouse, which serves meals, drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Cast a fishing line at the Killylane Reservoir

If you’re into fly fishing, then head north to the Killylane Reservoir, which lies amidst open moorland on the edge of the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s a popular area for luring trout, with up to four fish allowed per rod. Boat-based fishing is not permitted, which only adds to the tranquility of the experience. Non-anglers can simply enjoy a stroll along the shores of the Killylane Reservoir.

Tour Carrickfergus Castle

Despite being besieged by the Scots, the English and the French, Carrickfergus Castle has managed to withstand the test of time and stands proudly overlooking Belfast Lough. Originally built in 1177, it now offers a fascinating insight into the tumultuous events that have impacted Northern Ireland. Centuries-old cannons are on display, alongside artefacts and costumes from times gone by. After touring what is one of the most impressive castles in Northern Ireland, you can relax over coffee and cake at the onsite cafe.

Hike the Gobbins Cliff Path

Taking in rocky coves and spectacular sea caves, this coastal path is more of an experience than simply a walk. Its history dates back to the early 20th century, although it spent a significant period in disrepair in the wake of World War II. In recent years, the path has been revamped to meet modern safety standards and is once again open to the public. Its suspension bridges and precarious cliff paths offer incredible views across the coastline of Antrim and the caves known as the “Seven Sisters”.

Indulge at the Dunamoy Spa

If you’re into health and beauty, then don’t miss a visit to this relaxing spa, which offers a range of therapeutic treatments. In addition to back, neck and shoulder massages, you can enjoy facials, body scrubs and anti-ageing treatments. Reflexology is also available to help restore the body’s natural balance, as are custom-designed couples’ treatments. You can extend your stay with a soak in the Dunamoy Bathing Suite, complete with rejuvenating minerals.

How to Use Printed Photos to Enhance Your Makeup Skills

Nowadays, the tactile experience of holding photo prints has become somewhat rare. However, their tangible presence and clarity make them invaluable, especially in professions demanding precision and growth.

For makeup artists and enthusiasts for instance, printed photos can be a significant asset. From providing visual inspiration and evaluation to tracking your progress, photo prints can play an indispensable role when developing your makeup skills.

Using Printed Photos for Inspiration

Printed photos are not only stunning to look at, but they can also provide budding makeup artists with inspiration, encouragement, and new ideas.

In fact, you could even use some printed photos as a makeup muse. Makeup is as much about artistry as it is about technique. And like any artist, sourcing inspiration is pivotal. Photo prints of diverse faces, makeup trends, art pieces, or even nature can ignite the spark for your next innovative look.

If you tend to stick to the same palette when creating new makeup looks, the vibrant hues of a printed image can serve as a reference point for curating your makeup palette. Whether it's the gradient of a sunset or the myriad colours in a bird's plumage, photo prints can guide your choice of eyeshadows, lip colours, and more to new, unexplored horizons.

Evaluating Your Work with Printed Photos

While it may not be the most enjoyable practice, being able to scrutinise your makeup application is key to refining your skills. Photographing your work and studying the photo prints allows for a detailed analysis. From the symmetry of eyebrows to the blending of contours, you can spot areas that need improvement.

Plus, for those considering makeup as a career, curating a professional portfolio is crucial. High-quality photo prints of your best works can make a compelling case for your expertise when presented to potential employers or clients.

Track the Progress of Your Makeup Skills

Every artist evolves, and this journey is worth capturing. By maintaining a chronological collection of photo prints of your makeup looks over time, you can witness your growth, changes in style, and improvements in technique over time.

Also, as you experiment with novel makeup styles or techniques, having printed references of your initial attempts versus your latest endeavours can serve as motivational benchmarks. They not only highlight your progress but also encourage you to keep pushing the boundaries of your makeup looks.

Make the Most of Makeup Workshops and Tutorials

If you're attending a makeup workshop, often, there are crucial takeaways, be it a specific technique, a look, or a trend. Having these insights as photo prints can serve as a quick reference guide, making your practice more effective later down the line.

Prefer to learn about makeup and technique online? Printing these step-by-step guides in the form of images or screenshots can make the learning process more tactile and immersive, as you can place them beside your makeup station for easy reference.

Create Your Own Vision Board

Creating a mood board using photo prints of desired makeup looks, textures, and colours can be a powerful visualisation tool for your makeup journey. Whether you're prepping for a specific event or imagining a seasonal look, these boards can be your guide whenever you need it. By including advanced makeup techniques on your vision board, this can also serve as daily motivation to improve your skills.

There’s no denying that the journey to makeup mastery is an ongoing one, filled with experiments, learning, and evolution. Incorporating photo prints into this voyage not only provides tangible inspiration and reference but also celebrates milestones and benchmarks.

How to celebrate ‘Galentine’s Day’ in style

Sure, you’ve heard of Valentine’s Day. You might make special plans each year, from date night with a partner to sending hopeful Valentine’s Day cards to crushes. But have you been missing out on Galentine’s Day?
How to celebrate ‘Galentine’s Day’ in style

It officially falls on February 13th, the day before the big one, and it’s a great way to honour your best female friendships. Galentine’s Day came about thanks to Amy Poehler’s character in the TV series Parks and Recreation and has since taken off among gals across the world, regardless of relationship status!

Whether this is your first year celebrating or you’re hunting fresh ideas, here are five fun options to get your group chat going.

Sisters’ staycation
Flight prices are going to ‘continue to rise’, according to the Jet2 boss. So if an indulgent trip abroad is beyond your gang’s means, why not holiday together closer to home?

You could book a cottage somewhere and enjoy the British countryside away from work, kids and irritating partners. Or maybe a city-centre apartment is more your group’s vibe.

At the end of the day, location shouldn’t matter too much; being together is what’s important on Galentine’s.

Dinner and drinks
Few activities allow you to properly catch up quite like a night on the town. You could book a meal to settle everyone’s stomachs before moving onto a few bars. Eat, drink and chat, then dance the night away! Square Meal is perfect for finding restaurants, bars and even venues for hire.

Alternatively, why not start early with a bottomless brunch? Or keep things civilised with an alcohol-free event, like coffee or hot cocoa and cake.

Gals’ night in
Of course, there’s no obligation to go out for Galentine’s Day. You could have just as much fun by staying in, especially since it falls on a Monday this year!

You might host a dinner party if you back your skills in the kitchen or keep things simple with a takeaway instead. Once everyone’s fed, move on to high-energy games or a nostalgic movie night.

Pampering
If your gang doesn’t get much opportunity for self-care in everyday life, then a day of pampering could be the answer. Head to your nearest spa or book in for some beauty appointments - not that you need any!

If those options aren’t your style, perhaps some retail therapy will do the trick. Take your time, try new outfits together and offer plenty of positive encouragement!

A healthy challenge
For a completely different approach, your team could take on a physical challenge of some sort. That might mean hiking a nearby mountain, skydiving or just trying a new gym class.

Whatever the case, you’ll feel even better for coming through it together – and more motivated to start!

Could any of these ideas suit your squad this Galentine’s Day?
