Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction

Today I am introducing you to a brand I am blown away by, one you might not have come across until now, but that is one of the joys of being a blogger. Meet Dead Sea Dream, a brand who describes themselves as making natural skincare products, designed for your daily body rituals and powered by minerals from the Dead Sea. Made with only the best ingredients, our spa-quality products are the perfect way to relax, unwind, and renew.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
Dead Sea Dream only launched in 2022 and it has quickly received love from the likes of Vogue, Vanity Fair and House & Garden and it is easy to see why, everything about this brand ticks boxes for me and I am going to share their collection with you.
When the world seems driven by stress and global turmoil, the importance of creating a safe, serene space at home is magnified. Captivating a sense of calm and tranquillity has become an opportunity for ultimate relaxation and time becomes the pinnacle of luxury.
For me, the bathroom is a sanctuary, a place to relax, unwind and ignore the outside world and as Dead Sea Dream has said, it is important to create a safe, serene space.  So with the products I was kindly sent, it was really easy to create a pampering routine and here is how.

Flotation Bath Salt Crystals with Dead Sea Salt, Jojoba and Coconut Oil (£19). I am a huge fan of bath salts and think they are really underrated for their powers of helping to relax, unwind and forget about the day.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
These salt crystals crystals help to soften the skin and improve its natural barrier function, whilst relaxing sore muscles and joints. Soaking in these restorative waters helps to improve blood circulation and cell renewal, and soothes sensitive skin. It it is claimed that once you have added your bath salts to dissolve into water they leave the bath water charged with Dead Sea minerals which helps to create that perfect calm and relaxing bathing experience.  I have sadly now emptied my pot of bath salts but what I can tell you is I loved using them, there is something about the natural sea scent which is so incredibly relaxing and unlike some salts, these ones did dissolve.

The second product I have just loved is the Refining Body Scrub (£30) and again, it has been produced with carefully sourced ingredients and makes a really lovely gift.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
As with most Body Scrubs, this one has been formulated to help to invigorate and refine your skin, stimulate blood flow and help to boost cellular renewal. At this time of year as the weather transitions to those warmer days, I want that scaly dry skin absolutely gone from my skin, especially on my shins where I turn into a lizard over the winter, but at the same time, I want my body scrubs to be body scrubs and do their job as well as to feel like a treat. Dead Sea Dream use Dead Sea Salt, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil and Grapeseed Oil which come together to create a scrub which can be as abrasive or as gentle as you need it to be and it smells just like the fresh scent of a walk by the sea, it is incredible.

There are two masks within this collection of products, the Purifying Mineral Mud Mask and the Glowing Hair Mask, both perfect for that pamper routine.

The first mask I tried was the Glowing Hair Mask (£30) and it is suitable for hair which is dry, oily and damaged.  I have combination hair so with an oily scalp and dry ends, I try to use a mask, or two mask in some cases to treat and pamper both concerns at least once a week, but this mask can be used as often as you feel the need to use it.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
Designed to strengthen fragile hair, reduce breakage and stimulate hair growth, whilst ay the same time working to deeply moisturise the hair and scalp, this mask uses Dead Sea Water, Argan Oil and Sweet Almond Oil to work its magic and because it has a texture that isn't too thick, it doesn't weight the hair down or leave it feeling lank and in need of re-washing. To use, this mask needs to be applied to freshly washed, damp hair and left on the hair and scalp for 5 minutes, then once that time is up, massage your hair and scalp for up to a minute for rinsing out and left behind, you should have soft, smooth, shiny and for me the best part, untangled, not knotty hair! This mask again has that fresh sea breeze scent with a hint of a few floral notes from Rose, Jasmin and Magnolia.

Then we have the Purifying Mineral Mud Mask (£27) and ask masks go, this one has become a firm favourite. Fragrance free, it is suitable for skin which is dry, sensitive, mature, oily and acne-prone.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
Designed to not only clean your pores of impurities and congestion, it also helps to reduce breakouts, calm inflammation, reduce redness and treat the symptoms of acne. This mask has a really lovely creamy texture that doesn't dry out the skin and again, it is made using Dead Sea Mud, Aloe Vera, Zinc oxide which help to decongest, lock in hydration, strengthen the skin’s protective barrier function and reduce redness to name just a few benefits. To use, your skin needs to be freshly cleansed and dried, then apply the mask to your face using a brush, spatula or even your fingers to cover all areas (except the eyes) evenly and then leave it to work for 15 minutes, in which time this mask does dry on the skin before rising with warm water. After using it, my skin always feels clean, something that is hard to explain, but soft, smooth and hydrated.

Now that the bathroom pamper session is over, Dead Sea Dream has just two more products to share, the first is the Defining Body Cream and then the Nourishing Hand and Foot Cream.

The Defining Body Cream, which is packaged inside a glass pump action bottle (£27) is perfect for all skin types and it is perfect for using on your skin after showering or bathing.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
Not only does this cream help to alleviate irritation and roughness of the skin, especially after a winter of wearing thick tights and leggings, it also helps to tone and firm skin's texture. Again with that fresh oceanic scent which reminds me of a walk along the seafront but with it come the floral notes of Rose, Jasmin and Magnolia, which alongside the carefully selected ingredients of Dead Sea Water, Caffeine and Calendula make a wonderful cream. On the skin, it absorbs quickly into the skin and is really hydrating and im a huge fan.

The final product from Dead Sea Dream is the Nourishing Hand & Foot Cream (£5.95) and what I love about this cream is that it is for use on both your hands and feet instead of needing a separate cream for both.
Dead Sea Dream - An Introduction
This cream works to promote healthy circulation and can help to reduce the swelling of the feet and legs, as well as to protect your hands from the effects of pollution and free radicals. With the use of specially selected ingredients which includes Dead Sea Water, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, and Tea Tree Oil which isn't too overpowering.  This Cream has a light texture which not instantly absorbs into the skin as you massage it and as it does so, there is no residue left behind.

This is a brand to watch out for in my view, every product has been made so well and it does everything it promises to do.  The stand out products for me are the Flotation Bath Salt Crystals and the Refining Body Scrub which I loved from the first time using them, but every product is a delight to use and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

A vegan's guide to choosing the right sunscreen for summer travel

All seasons call for the use of sunscreen. Safeguarding your skin against sunburn and UV ray damage is crucial now more than ever because everyone is in the middle of summer, and your skin is exposed to the sun all day. Applying sunscreen liberally is an excellent precaution, but with the variety of lotions with SPFs available, most are loaded with toxins that could endanger the health of the body's major organs.

Many of us are currently replenishing our stock of sunscreen, however, given the knowledge of SPF, UVA, and UVB protections. It's okay to need clarification, so here is a fast summary of everything you should know to choose the best sunblock creams.

Pay heed to your skin type
Verify that the sunscreen you use is labeled as "non-comedogenic" if you have pimples or acne-prone skin because this indicates that it has been proven not to clog pores. If you suffer from dehydrated skin, search for sunscreens containing moisturizers or moisturizers with replenishing elements.

Select an organic or substance sunscreen instead if you have delicate skin. Physical sunscreen defends the skin using zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are safe for use around the eyes. They create an obstacle to protect your skin when they rest on the surface of your skin.

Are you planning a cruise vacation this summer? Pack all the essential things along with sunscreen for your skin before a cruising adventure from Southampton.

Verify the water-resistance level of your sunscreen
Summertime beach or pool trips make it easy enough to bring water-resistant sunscreen. However, it's also a sensible choice for everyday use. Since individuals should apply another layer of sunscreen every two hours, making water-resistant sunscreen products is brilliant.

Water-resistant sunblock provides further defense even when individuals aren't in the water. Many people don't realize they're dripping off their sunscreen during the day, mainly if it's hot outside.

Don't buy sunscreen containing Retinyl Palmitate
Retinyl palmitate should be avoided since, despite research showing it to be a potent antioxidant and mild on skin prone to irritation, it may raise the risk of skin aging, malignancies, and skin harm when subjected to UV rays from the sun. It is commonly found in sunscreen products.

Consider the SPF
A sunscreen's SPF rating indicates how much UVB rays it can block off. Dermatologists advise using sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30. Around 93 percent of UVB rays are blocked by SPF 15, and 97% by SPF 30.

Any exposed skin area needs to have adequate sunscreen applied to it every day when you'll spend a lot of time in one of the best summer destinations in Europe, such as alluring European beaches.

In a nutshell, you must apply sunscreen approx. 30 minutes before stepping out of your home, and always consider buying sunscreen with SPF 30 at least. You may safeguard your skin from harmful UV rays by restricting direct exposure to the sun by seeking shade and covering up your face & hair with a scarf or hat.

Key Reasons Natural Skincare is Better for You

Have you been looking to switch from traditional skincare products to natural ones? Well, you are in the right place. Natural skincare refers to products made using plant-based ingredients free from synthetic chemicals and additives. In contrast, most traditional skincare products often contain synthetic ingredients such as parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

More and more consumers are becoming aware and conscious about what they put on their skin, and thankfully today there are many great brands that make high quality products with clean ingredients; for example, the Blue Lagoon Natural Skincare line combines the power of natural ingredients with the efficacy of modern day science.

Here are some of the primary reasons as to why natural skincare is great for you!

No Harmful Ingredients
Natural skincare products do not contain harmful ingredients like parabens, PFOAs, and phthalates. Parabens are preservatives commonly used in traditional skincare products that have been linked to hormonal disruption and other health concerns. PFOAs and phthalates are used to make water- and stain-resistant products, but they have been linked to health issues like cancer and thyroid problems.

Potent Plant Power
These skincare products harness the power of plants to nourish and protect the skin. Many plants contain natural antioxidants that help prevent aging and wrinkles without adverse side effects. For example, green tea extract and vitamin C are potent antioxidants that can help brighten and firm the skin.

Science Based
In addition to the potency, natural products use science to extract the right components from natural ingredients. This process ensures that the products are effective without harmful additives. For instance, natural preservatives like grapefruit seed extract can keep products fresh without synthetic preservatives like parabens.

Gentle on the Skin
There is nothing as sensitive as the skin, especially on your face. With natural products, you are sure they are gentle on your skin, and you won't suffer any irritation, burning, or scarring. They contain natural ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, and lavender. All these are known for their soothing properties. They are a great option for all skin types, including the sensitive ones.

More Sustainable and Eco-Friendly
Using natural skincare products is a sustainable and eco-friendly choice. Many natural skincare companies prioritize sustainability in their packaging and manufacturing practices. Most natural skincare companies use biodegradable packaging materials or offer refillable options to reduce waste. By choosing natural skincare, you can support companies committed to reducing their environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.

If you're ready to make the switch to natural skincare, there are a few tips that can help you get started. First, research and read ingredient labels carefully to ensure that the products you choose are natural and free from harmful additives. Second, start slowly and introduce one new product at a time to give your skin time to adjust.

Lastly, consult with a skincare professional specializing in natural products before you start or in the event of any issue. They will help you find the right products for your skin type and offer solutions for your concerns.
