Holistic Silk Pure Silk Lavender Face Pillow

Until you have tried a silk eye mask, you haven't felt luxury and Holistic Silk is a brand I just happen to absolutely love.  I was very kindly sent their Pure Silk Lavender Face Pillow and it might be my most favourite thing ever.
Holistic Silk Pure Silk Lavender Face Pillow
Described as being a full face pillow, it is made from skin-loving hypoallergenic 100% 22 momme Mulberry Silk and it is just beautiful. It was inspired by the experience of extensive lockdown anxiety and Holistic Silk refers to it as being their most powerful de-stressing tool yet.
Let the perfectly weighted seeds and Lavender work their magic whilst your skin reaps the benefits of Pure Mulberry Silk to soothe and hydrate. Enjoy a facial massage whenever you need one.
Available in a range of colours, I have the beautiful Saffron shade and it can be used to help to relieve headaches, migraines, eye strain, sinus pain and perhaps the most useful aspect - hangovers. It can also be used to induce sleep and silence mind chatter and is ideal for power naps, making a ten minute rest feel like an hour.
Holistic Silk Pure Silk Lavender Face Pillow
To get the best use out of this face pillow, the advice is to very gently squeeze to release the soothing and sleep inducing Lavender fragrance, whilst rotating to ensure seeds are evenly distributed. Then, all you have to do is simply lie back and place over your face to promote deep relaxation.

As I suffer with headaches, a condition called Barometric headaches to be precise, I am never keen to take over the counter drugs, preferring instead to let my body work it out alone, that said, I do use cold flannels, eye masks and temple rubs.  During my last few flare ups of headaches, I took to using this Face Pillow and as you can see, it is a bit of an odd look.

So, being shaped like a sheet mask, there is, as you can see vents for both your nose and mouth and because it is perfectly weighted with organic seeds and real Lavender, it works to gently stimulate those facial acupressure points for clarity and calmness.

For me and my headaches, I've found the weightiness of it to be soothing and relaxing and just laying down, with my eyes completely covered, gives me that time out and it fits perfectly to my face. If you can't already tell, I just absolutely love it and the time out it gives me to unwind, relax and de-stress makes it worth every penny.

You can find this mask from Holistic Silk right here for £90

Car Care Resolutions That Every Car Owner Should Follow in 2023

New Year is around the corner and every year at 31st December, we make some resolutions and goals to become the best version of ourselves throughout the year. These resolutions could be related to family, lifestyle, fitness, emotional well-being etc. We often forget about our most usable possession, our vehicle. As a car owner, it is also our responsibility to take good care of our car. This new year, let’s make some car care resolutions to help your vehicle running at its best.

Clean your car
Don’t forget to keep your car looking clean and tidy from both inside and outside. Not just on weekends, try to clean the dirt out of the car regularly. If you spilled some coffee in the morning or have some empty snack wrappers lying around, immediately clear them out. Make sure that the steering, dashboard, handles and console are clean to avoid the risk of unhealthy bacteria.

Change your car oil. It’s the best way to keep a car’s engine healthy. A little amount every month saves you from hundreds and thousands. If you are planning to head out for a Christmas trip and intend to travel a few thousand miles then probably changing your oil right now is a good idea. Change the oil at your earliest convenience before it damages and causes wear to the engine.

Maintain your Car
Just like you stick to your diet plan, make sure to stick to your car service schedule the same way. It will help to keep your car condition in a healthy state and help to avoid breakdowns on your important journeys. Moreover, if you want to sell the car in the future, a potential buyer will see the car’s maintenance history and it will improve the selling price. Related to car maintenance, MOT is the most vital one. It is also mandatory under UK law. Make sure you are doing your car’s MOT on time. If you haven’t booked yet, book an early MOT testing service at Elite MOT Garage London to ensure you get a date and time convenient to you!

Learn to do basic car maintenance
There are some simple tasks you can do to maintain your car well by yourself. Start with simple things like learn to replace windshield wipers. Its no rocket science, all you need to do is try putting it on once.

Learning other simple car maintenance elements like changing oil, checking other fluids, checking the tyre pressure, changing a tyre are all skills that come in handy. Try learning them to enhance your basic skill level and to reduce your dependence on your local garage.

Parks London Cedarwood + Orange Spice Collection

At this time of year, it is fair to say some of the most beautifully scented candles are on sale and this is true of Parks London with their Cedarwood + Orange Spice Collection, which I am lucky enough to have tried.
Parks London Cedarwodod + Orange Spice Collection
Carol Symons founded Parks in 1989, at a time when the home fragrance industry only made scented candles with paraffin. Carols’ commitment to 100% natural wax led Parks to build the manufacturing facilities and develop the techniques they needed for naturals to outperform paraffin.  Still a family business, Parks has become the respected expert in manufacturing the highest quality, 100% natural wax candles and alcohol-free diffusers.

The new Parks HOME collection is described as being "designed to re-define high quality home fragrance at an accessible price point" and each product contains alcohol-free diffusers, 100% sustainable natural wax, and Coreless CleanBurn™ technology. The new HOME Collection is guaranteed to have something for everyone; choose between Jasmine & Musk, Lemon Verbena, Cedarwood & Orange Spice, Wild Rosemary & Bergamot, and many, many more.

The Cedarwood & Orange Spice is the perfect scent for this time of year with its woody, spicy and sweet aroma which creates a warm scent.  I have both the candle (£25) and the accompanying Reed Diffuser (£25) which together are quite the force.

The candle, which has a burn time of around 40 hours, is made from 100% natural wax and is presented in a luxurious glass jar with a minimalist label, beautifully presented and it would make the most lovely gift.
Parks London Cedarwodod + Orange Spice Collection
Once it is lit, the scent of  spicy clove, cinnamon, and sweet orange alongside the subtle richness of cedar and a few minutes after being alight, those scents begin to fill the room, bringing with it a warmness.  As soon as the candle is extinguished, that scent does linger for quite some time.

The  Cedarwood & Orange Spice Diffuser, which is 100ml should last between 4-6 weeks and it took has that same scent the of the candle, with the subtlety of cedar alongside spicy clove, cinnamon and sweet orange.
Parks London Cedarwodod + Orange Spice Collection
It is 100% alcohol free and as soon as the reeds are in use, the scent comes to life whether or not it is used within the same room as the candle, it is just a wonderful scent, both complimenting one another.

The HOME collection by Parks is on sale now and with prices from £25, you are spoilt for choice as to which collection to try first.

Legology Air-Lite Contouring Cream

Legology is a brand which was founded by award winning beauty journalist, Kate Shapland and it is described as being the world’s only dedicated leg care brand, offering refined solutions that make a real difference to leg contours, comfort and care.
Legology Air-Lite Contouring Cream
Legology formulas are specifically designed to promote the lymph, the body’s own cleansing system, to reduce the toxins and trapped fluid that impact on leg beauty and health.  Alongside any foot care product, I am surprised there hasn't been something like this particular offering until now.

So, I was kindly sent a tub of Legology Air-Lite, a contouring cream which is described as being:
A powerful cream that improves the appearance of leg contours. Air-Lite targets areas of bumpiness and heaviness while delivering a feeling of improved lightness.
With a texture that is whipped like aerated meringue along with the most divine citrus scent, Air-Lite targets puffiness, tightness, and fatigue induced by fluid retention and as a result, refines the look of leg contours. Powered by the brand unique Lymphology Complex®, it contains two potent French complexes to support massage in helping to bring instant contour and comfort to legs. Similarly, the cream’s deep drainage properties also help reduce the appearance of cellulite by making skin look smoother and cleaner.
Legology Air-Lite Contouring Cream
In other words, Air-Lite visibly improves the way legs look and feel and in their own words 'You’ll see a new silhouette and feel a lightness that makes you want to fly'.

This cream is packed full of amazing ingredients as you might expect given its claims and included within that list you will find:
  • Caffeine: known for it’s potent anti-inflammatory properties and its a vasoconstrictor molecule which, can temporarily shrink blood vessels and as a result reduce puffiness.
  • Goldenrod: not only known for it’s swelling reducing properties, it is also good for soothing swollen and puffiness in legs and ankles too.
  • Butchers broom: known for evening out the skin tone as well as having cleansing properties.
  • Lemon: known initially for it’s antioxidant and exfoliant properties, but it is also good for smoothing out and energising skin including bumpy areas found in cellulite.
Using this cream is really delightful because it gives you time to relax, unwind and massage those poor aching legs, which, at this time of year after all that walking whilst Christmas Shopping, is a good excuse to sit down and thank them.  The idea with this cream is that you apply it to your entire leg and use your thumbs to ‘push’ product up the backs of legs, gently massage behind knees, the sides of knees and thighs, really working the cream in, better still if you have the other half to do this for you!  The whole process should take less than five minutes.

Legology believe you should do this process once or twice a day after showeing to really see the benefits and for me, whilst I haven't stuck to the routine as religiously as I could have or should have done, I love the cooling sensation it imparts when being used and it does help with the fluid retention, which I have noticed, so I definitely need to stick with this cream!

Priced at £45 for a 100ml tube or £62 for a 175ml tub, it is an investment and a luxury, but one you need to try.
