Car Care Resolutions That Every Car Owner Should Follow in 2023

New Year is around the corner and every year at 31st December, we make some resolutions and goals to become the best version of ourselves throughout the year. These resolutions could be related to family, lifestyle, fitness, emotional well-being etc. We often forget about our most usable possession, our vehicle. As a car owner, it is also our responsibility to take good care of our car. This new year, let’s make some car care resolutions to help your vehicle running at its best.

Clean your car
Don’t forget to keep your car looking clean and tidy from both inside and outside. Not just on weekends, try to clean the dirt out of the car regularly. If you spilled some coffee in the morning or have some empty snack wrappers lying around, immediately clear them out. Make sure that the steering, dashboard, handles and console are clean to avoid the risk of unhealthy bacteria.

Change your car oil. It’s the best way to keep a car’s engine healthy. A little amount every month saves you from hundreds and thousands. If you are planning to head out for a Christmas trip and intend to travel a few thousand miles then probably changing your oil right now is a good idea. Change the oil at your earliest convenience before it damages and causes wear to the engine.

Maintain your Car
Just like you stick to your diet plan, make sure to stick to your car service schedule the same way. It will help to keep your car condition in a healthy state and help to avoid breakdowns on your important journeys. Moreover, if you want to sell the car in the future, a potential buyer will see the car’s maintenance history and it will improve the selling price. Related to car maintenance, MOT is the most vital one. It is also mandatory under UK law. Make sure you are doing your car’s MOT on time. If you haven’t booked yet, book an early MOT testing service at Elite MOT Garage London to ensure you get a date and time convenient to you!

Learn to do basic car maintenance
There are some simple tasks you can do to maintain your car well by yourself. Start with simple things like learn to replace windshield wipers. Its no rocket science, all you need to do is try putting it on once.

Learning other simple car maintenance elements like changing oil, checking other fluids, checking the tyre pressure, changing a tyre are all skills that come in handy. Try learning them to enhance your basic skill level and to reduce your dependence on your local garage.
