Beauty Pie WonderFilter Brightening Primer Review

As a member of BeautyPie, which I wrote a review about as to why I joined and the benefits of being a member, I have over time, tried some really amazing products, many of which I have repurchased because I have been that impressed.

Beauty Pie WonderFilter Brightening Primer Review
A few months ago, I decided to try the Primer that so many people raves about, even in a Facebook group I belong too, this primer was the one you needed. Priced at just £9.25, the Beauty Pie WonderFilter Brightening Primer comes packaged in the telltale white box with  black writing and it contains 30ml of product within a pastel pink plastic tube. If you’re not a member of BeautyPie then this primer is priced at £30, putting it very much at the high end price of the market.
From South Korea. Our Wonderfilter™ Brightening Primer boasts cutting-edge Pseudo-Skin Canvas Technology, hollow Prism Pearls for an ‘inner glow’ effect, and hydrating Ficucell Vita for the ultimate hybrid primer skincare-makeup mashup. Lightweight. Translucent. Imperfection blurring. This amazing colour-correcting primer gives a gorgeous naturally-radiant glow, plus long-lasting complexion brightening benefits.
The Beauty Pie WonderFilter Brightening Primer is a pale pink colour when squeezed from the tube and it has quite the shimmer to it when you first squeeze it out, thankfully that shimmer isn’t here to stay. On the skin, this primer is goes from being that lightweight cream-gel that blurs imperfections to a refreshing base that leaves your skin glowing. It does boast four main ingredients which are worthy of a mention and they are:
  • Pseudo-skin canvas technology with simi-lipids - said to be for optimal makeup adherence and enhancement of the pearl-light reflection
  • Hollow Prism Pearls For a natural inner-glow effect
  • Ficucell Vita (0.5%) - this is used for hydration
  • Micro-pearls - These are used for multi-tonal colour correcting
I love to apply this with my tinted moisturiser or BB Cream and depending on how much time I have, I might mix a few drops in to save completing a step in my routine. Because it gives such an amazing glow, you could also use it as a highlighter too, using just a little bit on those cheekbones over your foundation or base products to add some glow.

The swatches shown above of this Primer let you see just how beautiful it is, the top swatch is with the flash on and the bottom is without.

Without the use of silicone, I like this this feels on my skin when applied, it definitely doesn’t have the texture of other primers that I have used and whilst I’m not too convinced it has improved how long my makeup has lasted once applied because I also use a setting powder or spray. What I can say is that as a base product, I do love how it lets makeup sit on my skin, especially as my skin is quite dry currently after having covid.

If you are not yet a member of BeautyPie but you are intrigued by their products and the prices, I have a code which gives us both £10 off our orders, so definitely worth giving it a try!

Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm

My beloved Alpha-H recently unveiled their latest product launch and I am so delighted that it is a cleanser. Anyone who knows me, either in real life or via whatever they read on their phones, will know that cleansing is by far my favourite part of a skincare routine!
Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm
The Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm is the newest addition to the Alpha-H skincare range and it joins a whole host of other products such as the Triple Action Cleanser and the Balancing Cleanser, both of which I absolutely love and have shared on this blog many times too. However, unlike those two cleansers, this one is a balm cleanser, the absolutely best kind of cleanser you can ever try on your skin as far as I’m concerned and with a name like Melting Moment, you can’t already imagine how amazing it is!

The Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm is packaged inside the brands tell-tale product packaging being all white with black writing. It retails for just £34.95 and this tub contains 90g.
Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm
As you can see, the balm is a slightly light orange colour, not quite bright orange but definitely orange and the texture, a balm-to-oil formula is scented with a bespoke blend of natural and subtle citrus with Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Yuzu and Vanilla - absolute heaven!

Anyone who is familiar with Alpha-H as a brand will know that their products always feature some amazing ingredients and this balm is no different.

Key Ingredients

  • Australian Wild Orange Leaf Extract – Native to inland Australia and rich in Phyto-Compounds including; Amino Acids to increase skin barrier function and Benzoic Acid and Phenolics which are high in antioxidants and promote skin cell renewal.
  • Grapeseed Oil – This Vitamin E rich oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties; helping to calm stressed skin. It is rich in antioxidants which can assist in protecting the skin from free radical damage.
  • Australian Sandalwood Seed Oil – Rich in Ximenynic Acid, one of the rarest fatty acids in the plant world, this luxe natural oil is anti-inflammatory, increases micro-circulation and reduces excess sebum.
  • Bisabolol – Extracted from Chamomile, Bisabolol is rich in Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) and works to deeply hydrate the skin, reduce moisture loss and assist with reducing redness and irritation.
Quite the list and a task list that each ingredient his responsible for when it comes to looking after your skin.

To use this cleaning balm, the instructions are to apply it to dry skin and in doing so, gently massaging in circular motions. Once on the skin and you feel you have done everything you need, you can’t rinse off using a warm damp cloth, I like to use my Alpha-H cloths with this balm, they’re so delightful to use and I recently stocked up on more!  Once you have removed the balm from your skin, you can complete your skincare routine as usual.  If you wanted to have a much more indulgent use for this cleansing balm, then you can apply a layer to your skin and leave it to work it’s magic for around 10minutes as a treatment mask and then repeat the motion as set out above to remove from your skin!  After using, my skin always feels so soft and smooth to the touch as well as really hydrated and of course that zingy fragrance lingers nicely for some time.

The Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm is one I am absolutely obsessed with and I have a second tub waiting in the wings to be opened, which I grabbed from Cult Beauty with a recent order.

Tips that will Help you to Work from Home and Be More Productive

Working from home doesn’t need to be difficult. In fact, there are things that you can do to make yourself more productive, and by doing this, you may even find that the general quality of your work improves too. want to find out more about this? Simply look below.

Keep Regular Working Hours

It doesn’t matter whether you work full-time or part-time because one of the most important things that you can do is create a normal schedule for yourself.  It is very tempting to give yourself flexibility when you get started, or even when to take breaks. That being said, you have to keep your schedule consistent. Setting working hours will help you to get your work done and it will also make it much easier for people to get in touch with you as well. If you have a slow computer, look into the issues and problems it is causing you, so you don’t end up working late through no fault of your own.

Split your Work Time from your Personal Time

It’s important for you to work when you say you will but at the same time, it is also important to give yourself time for home when you need it. Make sure that you don’t extend your day beyond what you planned because if you do this, then you will soon find that you experience burnout. If you can, it is a good idea for you to set up a work desk or working area, as this will reduce stress and it will also give you the mental split you need to distinguish the two from one another. If you have finished work, then make sure that people are aware that you will not be communicating or checking emails after this time. It is all too easy to reply to a quick email on your phone when you are finished, but if you can stop yourself from doing this, then it’ll make it easier for you to stay on top.

Plan out your Workflow

It is very important that you plan out your workflow as well. If you want to learn how to work from home efficiently then you need to be smart about planning everything. Before you even start working, you have to make sure that you know what your priorities are for the day. You also need to plan out how long it will take you to get everything done so that you can anticipate for more or less time at certain intervals. Some people find it beneficial to take a couple of minutes before going to bed at night. This way you can plan out how your next day is going to go in plenty of time.

Of course, there are many things that you can do to try and plan out your day. If you follow this guide, then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the best result out of your time working at home. You may even find that you are far more productive as well, and this can work in your favour way more than you realise.
