Kevin.Murphy Hydrate-Me. Masque

Having not seen the inside of a hair salon for a few days shy of 18 months now, my hair is the longest it has been for years and it very much needs a big trim because it is becoming slightly unmanageable and it is taking an absolute age to dry.  In the meantime, I am still doing my best to look after my locks and when my hair needs some TLC, I have been using some incredible hair masques from Kevin Murphy, including this one which is the Hydrate-Me Masque.
One of my absolute favourite products from the Kevin Murphy brand is the Scalp.Spa Scrub which I featured some time ago on my blog.  The brand takes its inspiration from skincare, designed to deliver performance, strength and longevity to your hair but weightlessly.  One thing I really don't like about some hair masks is how weighted they make your hair feel after use.

This masque is described as being an ultra moisturising and smoothing treatment mask which is formulated to re-hydrate and soften dry, frizzy and course hair types. As my hair hasn't neem treated in a salon for some time, it does feel quite dry, especially at the ends, so masques such as this one have been absolutely delightful to use.  It also comes packaged inside the most pretty of purple bottles which features a pump action dispenser and I've found that two pumps is more than enough for my mane.

It features an incredible fragrant blend of Rose Hip, Evening Primrose and Kakadu plum, a light yet fresh scent that isn't too strong and with those ingredients we also have the inclusion of seaweed Shea butter and Vitamin C too. The main purpose of this masque is to smooth and repair and to do that, the inclusion of both vitamin C and vitamin E., are a must. Vitamin C as we know is a very potent anti-oxidant and vitamin E works to provide moisture, what I love is that the vitamins within this mask have been included using what is referred to as being a new process of micro encapsulating. This process keeps each of the vitamins separate within the formula and only come into contact when you use the masque as the capsules explode on contact, to deliver that much needed hydration and moisture. The inclusion of Kakadu Plum is to smooth the surface of the hair to lock in that vital moisture, which in turns leaves the hair looking much smoother, hydrated and feeling less coarse to the touch. Then with the Seaweed, its role is help cleanse hair of excess oil whilst at the same time hydrating to bring out that natural shine.

As with most hair masques, this one is designed to be used after washing your hair. Whilst it is still wet, it is to be massaged into the lengths and ends before being left to work its magic for 5-10 minutes. For me, this is another ticked box with Kevin Murphy hair care because as amazing as the products are, they are not ones which need to take up too much of your time.

This masque is gluten free as well as being paraben, sulphate and also cruelty free. Available from Kevin Murphy and Cult Beauty* and it is priced at £30 for 200ml.

Deciem Abnomly Shop Fragrance

Deciem is a brand I am convinced everyone has heard of, their ranges of The Ordinary, Niod and Hylamide being just a few under that umbrella! It is one of the first brands I ever worked with when they launched Inhibitif and it is something I will always hold dear. As the brand has grown, as well as skincare, makeup, bodycare, lip care and even self-tanning comes fragrance, a room fragrance to be more specific.
Deciem Shop Fragrance
Shop, the fragrance in question, is said to have been originally created five years ago, one which was previously formulated to bring a sense of familiarity to Deciem stores around the world. After requests from the brands audience to share the scent with them, Shop has now been bottled and is on sale, here for just £16*

Whenever I choose a scent, it is for a specific mood but the late Brandon Truaxe, founder of Deciem partnered with London-based perfumer and friend, Azzi Glasser, to create the SHOP scent. Shop is described as being a scent that captures the essence of DECIEM's abnormal yet welcoming space through the construction of notes and accords that blend together as a unique DNA print. If you know anything about Deciem, the brands, the products and the ethos, you will know that anything can and probably will be created, invented and come to life.
Deciem Shop Fragrance
I hadn't and still haven’t read a single review of this fragrance anywhere. I wanted to see for myself what it is like.  If you have ever walked into a Deciem store, you are not only greeted by the urge to trolley dash for every product, but there is an instant feeling of calm. Shelves are not overcrowded with products, testers haven’t leaked everywhere, it’s just a delightful experience to shop but the scent of each shop is the same - it is this!

The fragrance opens up with top notes open of Black Poivre which is enhanced by the nature of Cypress oil, so already you have that spicy peppery scent mixed with the fresh, clean aroma of the Cypress which is also herbaceous with a very slight woody even pine like. Then the middle notes of Iso E Super which you might be familiar with from the likes of the Escentric Molecules fragrance line up and it is described as having a dry and woody scent to it but mixed with a scent of sweetness. Added to the middle notes is Chalk which adds a soft dusty side. The base notes of Guaiac wood, Sequoia, and fresh Cedar are amplified with balsamic notes of Labdanum Resin, White Amber Crystals, White Musk, and Patchouli, which are used to add tenacity and longevity.

As you can see, there is a whole lot of fragrance notes to make this right, spicy, peppery almost comforting and cosy scent, it is one I would gladly have in each room in a diffuser to compliment the spray, that’s how much I love it.

You can purchase Shop, the Abnomly room fragrance from Deciem here* and it is priced at just £16.
