TOYL The 2021 Beauty Awards Box

I’ve raved about the Time Of Your Life (TOYL) beauty boxes in every post I have shared so far, the reason being is that they are just such good value for money and I’m yet to find a concept I dislike.

This months box is titled The 2021 TOYL Beauty Awards Box and it is one bumper package which features 11 products. These products have been chosen by Karen, the founder of TOYL because she believes they very much represent the best for women over the age of 40. Better still, this box is worth over £170 and it can be yours for just £35, read on to find out how!

The first product out of the box comes from one of my favourite brands - Emma Hardie with the product Protect and Prime SPF30. The category for this win is Best Retail Skincare for Women over 40.

Protect and Prime is a lightweight, non-greasy skin protecting and priming cream with an SPF30. Once applied, it doesn't feel gloopy, it isn't thick and it doesn't leave white residue once applied. Packed full of amazing ingredients such as Mongongo Oil, Oat Extract and Vitamin E together they work to protect and guard the skin against premature ageing, sun damage and environmental exposure. It also has a unique light-diffusing formulation to prime the skin and even out the complexion as well as helping to blur the appearance of fine lines and pores.

The second product is the Winner of the Best Bath and Body Brand category with Molton Brown.

The product on my box is the Fiery Pink Pepper Bath and Shower gel, one of Molton Brown’s iconic body washes, with its spicy pink pepper, vibrant ginger and rich patchouli which creates the most wonderful scent.

The third product is the Winner of the Best Tanning Range for Women over 40 and that is James Read with the Click and Glow Gel Drops.

This innovative device, which looks like a pen, is designed to be the ultimate on-the-go self-tanner with added Vitamin C. To use, you add the gel drops to your favourite moisturiser, SPF or foundation to give you a flawless bronzed finish.

Winning the Best Retail Face Suncare for women over 40 is Ultrasun. A brand I am just getting to know for another post on my blog.

The Ultrasun Anti-Ageing SPF 30, is an oil free hard working, lightweight sun cream that works as a moisturiser and primer as well as a sun cream and ant-ageing product. Said to be packed with ingredients to keep UVA/UVB off out skin and protect from blue light.

When it comes to beauty tools, the winner of the Best Beauty Tool for women over 40 comes from a brand known as Laruce.

This is a non-U.K. brand but the brushes are described as being some of the very best on the market - they’re vegan, hypoallergenic and cruelty-free. Within this box is two of the brands brushes - a Tapered Blending brush and a Fluff brush, both brushes have easy to grip handles and are quite weighty to hold.

The winner of the Best Packaging Innovation comes from a brand called Oryza with their Dewy Glow Skin Beauty Balm.

Described as being an all-purpose skin and lip balm with UVA and UVB filters for sun protection, it is moisturising, anti-inflammatory, protective and soothing for all skin types. But it didn’t win for its formula, it’s the packaging and that is because it is made from more plastic which has been reclaimed from the ocean than any other time - making it quite innovative.

OPI wins the Best Nail Brand award for women over 40 and with the product Natural Nail Base Coat.

As a brand, OPI has some of my favourite shades (Lincoln Park after Dark) but this product is described as being a mani/pedi must have. It creates a protective layer on nails and helps to prevent stains from darker shades. This base coat also grips your chosen nail polish for a longer-lasting, chip resistant manicure.

I love a good innovative product and within this TOYL Beauty Awards Box is a product which has been flown in from the USA - SiO.

SiO Eye & Smile patches are made of medical grade silicone and they are described as comfortably hugging your skin and as it does so, gently compresses it to stay flat and smooth. This doctor-recommended eye and laugh line treatment not only intensifies hydration, it also supports the skin’s ability to retain moisture, minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes or the lips!

The winner of the Best Professional Skincare for Women over 40 is the renowned French brand Gatineau, a brand I have used many times.

The product within this box is the Thérapie Pureté Cleansing Milk. The entire Thérapie Pureté range is said to harness the Mineralised Seawater from a French Island in the Bay of Biscay as its main ingredient. This water is especially rich in ingredients such as Manganese, Zinc, Iron and Lithium which increase the production of Collagen, provide anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant protection and increase radiance and luminosity. This luxurious Milk Cleanser removes make-up and impurities from the skin while providing essential hydration and luminosity, perfect for use in the morning or in the evening as part of a double cleanse.

Jane Scrivner is the next brand to be featured and that is because they win the Best Organic Skincare for women over 40.

The Overnight Recharge Balm by Jane Scrivner has been formulated to help hydrate, calm and revive the look of your skin overnight so you wake up to a more balanced, soothed and radiant complexion. Said to be perfect for those who want to tackle dullness. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.

The final product within this 2021 Beauty Awards Winning Box is the winner of the Best Makeup Brand for women over 40 - CodeBeautiful.

The product in his box is called FFL - Forget Fake Lashes and it is described as being an instant lash lengthening product which not only lengthens but also enhances all eye lashes.

As you can see, this is a brilliant concept for a beauty box and I love everything about it from the theme and the reasoning for each product category to the products chosen. There is 8 products in this box I have not used before and this excites me.  This box gives an incredible 11 products from some really interesting and intriguing brands.

Antipodes Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream

The newest launch from Antipodes, a brand whom I have featured a lot of over the past few years, is their sleep-in night cream, Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream.

As a brand, Antipodes have some amazing products, such as Aura Manuka Honey Mask which, if you haven’t tried, then you most definitely should. They’re up there with some of my absolute favourite products I’ve ever tried.

The Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream is formulated with certified vegan ingredients from New Zealand nature and the power of probiotics and is said to deliver a lifeline to any skin type by boosting moisture levels and strengthening the skin’s barrier thus optimising skin recovery overnight.

On the skin, this cream is really lightweight, almost cloud like and with its lilac hue it absorbs quickly into the skin and it’s an absolute dream to use. 

Using the power of Kalibiome AGE Probiotic, which is described as being a high-performing, non-live ‘good’ bacteria and in clinical trials, this Probiotic was found to not only reduce the effects of photo-ageing in the skin, reduce wrinkle depth and redness but it also enhanced elasticity and increased hydration by stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid in skin cells. There is also the inclusion of plant-based Hyaluronic Acid and native New Zealand Mamaku Black Fern which work to deliver a lifeline to stressed skin’s depleted moisture levels for plump, bouncy and dewy skin.

For me, I was intrigued to see how it dealt with some redness, brought about by using a facemask which featured clay and still my skin hates it, so it was red and quite angry. Applying this cream, there was an instantly soothing feeling, the kind you get when you apply a cold towel to your skin after a day in the sun. As it is a night cream, I slathered it onto my skin and the following morning, the redness was still present, but much less angry and easy to cover with a tinted moisturiser - one day I will learn not to use a facemask which has clay as a main ingredient! 

There is nothing I dislike about the Antipodes Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream. For me, it does pretty much everything it claims to do, it feels delightful on the skin, it is soothing, it is lightweight, it isn’t sticky or tacky and it is on sale with Lookfantastic* and Antipodes* and it is priced at £45 for 60ml.

Feelunique Launch Men's Grooming Box

There has already been some pretty amazing Grooming boxes being released for Fathers Day and joining them is Feelunique with their Men's Grooming Box and it is a bit of a bargain!
