My Birthday Wishlist

I am a July baby and with my birthday coming up in just over a weeks time (21st) and I am very much Cancerian by trait if you read into horoscopes and their meanings. For example as a water sign, I am at my most calm when in or near to water, I can be moody, I hold a grudge and I can be very indecisive.  All of that aside, one thing I can make my mind up over are beauty products and there are some absolutely stunning products which have caught my attention recently and here they are.

Hello Jo - This is a new brand who are featured on FeelUnique and whom I came across when I was browsing for another product as a gift for a friend. Hello Jo is a new Korean developed caffeine-active beauty brand and I love everything I have read so far, I mean I love everything KBeauty, so this might not be such a surprise.  The one item which has stood out to me is this Speak Up! Bubble Lip Mask (£12.50).
My Birthday Wishlist
Introducing what is referred to as a worldwide, first to market exclusive, Hello Jo’s enzyme and caffeine fuelled exfoliating lip mask, it is described as being a gel-to-foam formula which is full of bubbly enzymes, antioxidants and Vitamins A and C which break down dead skin cells gently leaving lips renewed and resurfaced. To use, you simply rub it on to your lips and watch the active caffeine and fruit enzymes bubble up to remove dead skin and reveal smooth, renewed lips that are left feeling plumped, nourished and firm. Now I love this idea and am adding it to my basket!

BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Endless Bronze & Glow - I mean just look at how absolutely beautiful it is? I don't know if I would ever bring myself to use it because it is just so stunning.
My Birthday Wishlist
Created in collaboration with the gorgeous Chrissy Teigen, this is a limited edition silver compact features two Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed highlighters (in classic ‘Moonstone’ and Chrissy’s iconic ‘Beach Nectar’ shades) and one Sunlit Bronzer (in a brand new ‘Aloha Bronze’ hue). This beauty can be found HERE at Cult Beauty priced at £30.

Lixir - An instagram worthy brand with whom I have been impressed with since discovering them some time ago with Vitamin C Paste and Universal Emulsion.  Today however, it is Soft Clay Rubber which has got my attention.
My Birthday Wishlist
What fascinates me the most is the description which described the products as being both a mask and exfoliant in one. A rub-off formula which combines enzymatic and mechanical exfoliation to leave your skin impeccably clear. It has been developed in the tradition of French facials that include extraction to help with clearing congestion, drawing out impurities and reducing excess sebum to leave skin clear, purified and smooth. I love the idea that for a double hit use for heavily congested skin you apply first as a rub off exfoliant then reapply as a mask. This product from Lixir can be found HERE and it is priced at £28.

Finally we have a product which seems to dominate my Instagram feed from Glow Recipe and that is the Watermelon Sleep Mask. Unsurprisingly, being K-Beauty I am drawn to it and it is pink, so it essentially ticking two boxes, it is described as being a luxuriously ‘bouncy’, lightweight, gel-like sleeping mask which can also be used as a ten-minute mask in daylight hours.
My Birthday Wishlist
It is said that in Korea Watermelon extract is used to soothe irritated and inflamed skin as it floods the complexion with restoring vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids. It also features  hydrating hyaluronic acid and exfoliating, pore-refining alpha-hydroxy acids that get to work whilst you sleep, so when you wake up, not only is your skin soft and smooth, it is also glowing. Priced at £40, this mask can be found HERE at Cult Beauty.

So there you have it, four products that are currently on my radar or in various baskets across the internet waiting to be bought. What has caught your eye recently?

Michael Bublé By Invitation Rose Gold EDP

I first tried By Invitation by Michael Bublé back in 2016 (here) and I was wowed by the design of the bottle which takes on that of a circle. Now we have By Invitation Rose Gold and whilst I was beginning to suspect that my love of Rose Gold things had slowly but surely diminished, the arrival of this bottle has seemingly opened an old wound and I cannot get enough of it.

MICHAEL BUBLE BY INVITATION ROSE GOLD EDP
Admittedly, 'Celebrity Fragrances' is not really my thing, I have a host of favourite fragrances which I would purchase and repurchase and never would I have expected to add this one to my list, but as ever, you should never judge a book by its cover, or in this case the fragrance by the celebrity.

Having recently launched Pour Homme (here), Michael Bublé is back with a new version, of By Invitation called By Invitation Rose Gold and as you might expect it is just as luxurious as the original only this one is more of a Spring/Summer fragrance than the original and it is also much more glamorous in my opinion. Sitting within the Floriantel family, By Invitation Rose Gold is described as being a Floral Oriental Gourmand and it has some really sophisticated notes which run throughout.

Rose Gold opens with the top notes of magnolia, red fruits and Granit pear which is just beautiful, quite floral but with a hint of fruitiness to is. As it begins to settle the middle notes of Rose and Peony Heart alongside Black Plum are for me, what makes this scent and if anything could be made of these three notes alone, it would be incredibly special. The final notes, the base notes are of a lingering praline and vanilla base and just a touch of precious spice. These base notes give the scent a little bit of a twist and takes a hold of the florals and grounds them completely, taking you on quite a scented journey.

As a fragrance, it is one I would always love owing to the notes and the style of the bottle would always capture your attention, it almost commands it. Despite being on trend with the rose gold detailing, this bottle differs slightly to the original in that it had a gold bar running through the fragrance and it looked as though it more suspended in a gold casing. Rose Gold has no such gold bar within the bottle, only the fragrance tube is clearly visible. I am still not sure whether I prefer this or not.

A perfect scent for Spring and Summer, a 30ml of By Invitation Rose Gold retails for £29 and a 100ml bottle is £55 right here.

Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Zodiac Charm Pendant

I have mentioned on a few occasions that I don't really wear much jewellery on a day to day basis, whatever I do wear has to capture my mood. My staple items are always my wedding and engagement rings, which I never take off but I will sometimes wear a necklace or bracelet if the mood takes me.

One brand of Jewellery that I do adore is Thomas Sabo and over the years I have added charms to my bracelets and extended my collection slightly.  Just a week or so ago, I went along to the annual cocktail party which was just incredible. I am always made to feel really welcome and alongside the most amazing canapes and cocktails, you get the chance to explore the jewellery in the South Molton Street Thomas Sabo Store.

I am usually lusting after some of the skull rings that are on offer, delicate on design and in keeping with the Thomas Sabo Slogan - Unconventional, Contemporary and Vintage. At the event, I was kindly gifted a Zodiac Charm which is just stunning and oddly, not something I have ever owned before.  My own starsign is Cancerian, so naturally, I went for the crab.
Thomas Sabo Jewellery
As you can see, not only does the box within which the jewellery comes in is just stunning and I love how the black and white stripes work with the yellow colour of the drawer.  The silver disc upon which the sign of the crab sits is incredibly shiny and the crab takes on a 3D figure as it sits slightly raised and at the top of the pendant is a lobster clasp which is fitted onto to a Charm Carrier, this means that should I choose to move the pendant to another necklace or bracelet I can do with ease and equally if I choose to add additional charms, I can do that too.

I chose to have a slightly longer oxidised chain which hangs down over my chest rather than around my neck and I like that it is quite delicate, so it doesn't take away from the pendant. I also chose to have the pendant engraved with my initials, something that each Thomas Sabo store does and you can also add it to your order online.

The Charm Pendant retails for £69.00 and it would make an amazing gift for absolutely anyone. I like the option of being able to move the charm or add charms to the existing pendant.

Are you a Thomas Sabo jewellery fan?

Purple Tree Miracle Balm

I am a huge fan of multipurpose balms and have recently been introduced to the Miracle Balm by Purple Tree. Purple Tree Skincare is a British beauty brand created specifically to bring naturally derived ingredients with multi-purpose benefits into your skincare products. What's more, Purple Tree is also - Vegan-Friendly, Cruelty-Free, Made in the UK, Paraben and Sulfate Free and made from naturally derived ingredients.

Purple Tree Miracle Balm
Looking similar to Dr PawPaw, I was sent the Grapefruit, Vanilla and Blueberry Miracle Balms and what I liked from the onset is that the packaging represents each flavour and at 25ml, these tubes are perfect for shoving into your handbag.

When people talk about multiuse products, it can have all kinds of meaning. To me, it means a product that does more than 2-3 things or it can be used for 2-3 or even more uses. These balms can be used too:
  • Moisturise chapped lips
  • Use it as a Primer
  • Use on the cheekbones to add a subtle highlight
  • Use on eyelashes before applying Mascara to help elongate the lashes
  • Use it to tame eyebrows
  • Moisturise dry hands
  • Moisturise dry cuticles and nails
  • Use it to moisturise dry elbows, heels and knees
  • Use it tame flyaway hair
  • Smooth and condition dry ends of your hair
Like many multiuse products, there is a multitude of ways in which you can use them and it is always best to try and find out which ones work better for you.
  • Grapefruit - Miracle Balm uses a natural extract of Grapefruit to moisturise and provide relief from dry, cracked and irritated lips and skin. One Grapefruit contains more than half your recommended daily allowance of Vitamin A and it is known for its ability to help keep the skin looking healthy. I really like the scent of this balm, it is quite tangy and fresh scented.
  • Vanilla - Miracle Balm uses a natural extract of Vanilla and despite its sweet scent, which I sometimes find a little overpowering, within this balm, it isn't at all, it is much more subtle. Vanilla is rich in antioxidants which helps keep the skin healthy.
  • Blueberry - Miracle Balm uses natural Blueberry Seed Oil which is high in antioxidants which helps to keep the skin looking healthy. Like the two other balms, there is a slight subtle scent to the formula and it isn't too overpowering or manufactured.
Easy to apply, it doesn't linger on the skin and once on the skin, these balms are neither tacky or greasy at all. Priced at £3.99 you can find these balms via BeautyMart, Amazon, and Beautybase.  If these flavours are not for you, then you can also get the balms in Shea Butter, Papaya, Pomegranate, Aloe, Coconut, Watermelon, Peach and even a Signature Balm option.
