Once you have decided on your personalised locket, the chain and then the charm, your final and perhaps most important decision is how to personalise it. As I had decided to personalise this Locket for myself, choosing the two photographs to go inside was quite difficult to narrow down and eventually, being unable to choose between my cats, I settled on a photograph of myself aged 2 with my Grandfather and then one from my wedding day - fun fact, we got married on Christmas Day!

Boostology Moon & Star - 14k gold filled lava diffuser necklace, with essential oil

Boostology is one of those stores I cannot wait to visit in person. Describing themselves as an independent retailer based in London, not only do they offer unique, innovative and exclusive gift ideas, each product is designed to give you, and the planet, a boost. Their range includes organic, vegan, plastic-free ideas and so much more. I was kindly gifted the Moon & star - 14k gold filled lava diffuser necklace, with essential oil.

Nestled inside the white presentation box is the Moon & Star necklace, an instruction card plus a vial of essential oil. 

The necklace features a 16 inch, 14 karat gold filled chain, complete with a spring ring clasp, so when it is worn, it doesn't sit too tightly round the neck and instead sits on the chest bone. The star which compliments the chain, is also a lovely addition to the necklace theme, with the moon being made from natural black lava stone.

Gemporia Jewellery - Three Tone Sterling Silver Ring

When Gemporia got in touch to ask if I would like to try and review some of their jewellery, the hardest decision wasn't saying yes, it was choosing a piece of jewellery because not only is there a lot of choice, but the prices are amazing too.  

Gemporia, if you have never come across them are a business who set up the very first gemstone channel, known then as Gems TV in 2004. Fast-forward to now and Gemporia is very proud to be an employee-owned company, which is broken down to mean that 75% of the business is owned by trusts for the benefit of the team members, with the remaining 25% being owned by the founders.

At Gemporia, you can find a whole host of items across the jewellery spectrum from earrings and necklaces to bracelets and rings plus, they even have their very own lifestyle collection with features candles, beauty, homeware and a whole lot more.

I decided to choose a ring, something I could wear everyday that worked with my working from home attire as much as it does my Office Christmas Party on Zoom outfit. With Gemporia, rings comes in all different types, sizes, colours, shapes and design.  They also have a whole host of precious gemstones to choose from, assuming you want a gemstone, but they also offer options without a gemstone too.  I opted for a classically designed Ring from the My Exclusive collection, made of Three Tone Gold Plated Sterling Silver.

Initially, I looked at rings featuring my birthstone of a Ruby, I don't own a piece of Ruby jewellery and the ring I should have inherited from my grandmother was stolen in a house invasion. Anyway, I then got side-tracked by stacking rings and finally settled on this classic and I absolutely love it.  

With the three tone rings of gold, silver and rose gold, they sit together tightly enough so that they don't constantly spin around on your finger whilst you are wearing them, but are a great distraction to twiddle with when you are procrastinating!

Choosing your ring size with Gemporia is really easy and a process other brands should most definitely adopt!  Gemporia has an app which you can you download onto your phone and on it has a ring-sizing option on it.  All you need to do is place a piece of your current jewellery onto your phone screen and toggle with the settings slightly, following the guide, this then chooses your size and you can order your ring.  Ring sizes go up to a size W, so if like me you have big knuckles, you will find something to wear.

Lola Rose London Stacking Bracelets

On her 30th birthday, Nikki Gewirtz, Lola Rose founder, received a piece of jewellery that was so special, it changed her life. This gift inspired me to start designing my own pieces. At the same time, it reminded me of my Grandma Lola. Three months later, Nikki’s first piece of jewellery came into being – a single tumble-stone bracelet, which became the foundation of her own brand, Lola Rose. Today I am sharing two of the Lola Rose London Stacking Bracelets, which are just stunning.

Featured within the stunning Bangle Bar collection is a range of stackable and collectable friendship bracelets which showcase an array of semi-precious gemstones and striking metal details.  There is a whole list of options to give you the chance to mix and match, choose your favourites and either keep them for yourself or give them as a gift to someone special.

My bracelets arrived in the most beautiful pink pouch. The brand name embossed on the pouch, it has a stud closer and it looks just stunning.  Inside the pouch are two of the red friendship bracelets, different in design and a slight difference in the colour red of the stones too, they work as well together as they do on their own.

The first bangle features Crimson quartette gem stones and between them are some gold bauble features and they make quite a soothing jangling noise as your wrist moves around.

The bracelet can be made to fit the wrist loosely or tightly with the adjustable Chinese Knot. Priced at £30 it is just beautiful and I have worn it a lot since it was gifted to me.

The second bracelet is the Oxford Bracelet (£30) and it is described as being an everyday must have bracelet. Slightly more plain than the bracelet above, what I love about this one is its simplicity.

Again, this bracelet is handcrafted using semi-precious Crimson Red Quartzite stones with a diamond facet and instead of gold baubles between the stones, this one just has slim metal rondelles which sparkle when they capture the light.  Again, the use of an adjustable Chinese Knot to ensure the bracelet fits to your wrist.

These bracelets are both just stunning, I love the difference in red, contrasting between dark blood red and then a much lighter shade and the choice of being able to wear them on their own or together as a set is also a nice choice to have.

So how do you choose your word? Thankfully Lucy is on hand with a guide to help you to do just that and this is how it works:

STEP 1: Start with a Question
Choose one or two of the following questions and jot down the first words that come to mind:

• What’s a goal of yours?
• What brings you joy?
• Is there something you want to let go of?
• Is there something you want to improve?
• What energises you or makes you feel like your true self?

STEP 2: Develop

• What’s holding you back from achieving the answers in step 1?
• What word, as a daily reminder would help you achieve what you seek from step 1?

For example, if you want to start something new, but have some doubts you’d like to overcome, you could choose a word such as BELIEVE, COURAGE, or IGNITE.  If you’re feeling overwhelmed you may choose a reminder like BREATHE, STRENGTH or FAITH.

STEP 3: Identify your Word

You may have come up with a few words, and that’s OK, but what is the one word that is the most important, the priority, to begin working on today?

Declare out loud: My word is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _!

It is as simple as that.  Now we are living in uncertain times and this little exercise came at a really good time when I was a little stressed, feeling overwhelmed with learning to adjust to working from home, not seeing my work colleagues, can't see my family or friends, going to do the food shop has become more of a chore than ever before, remembering to carry a facemask with me at all times and having to cook more than I have done before all takes it toll.

So, I completed the steps above as directed too and this is my word.

I have worn my bracelet every single day since it arrived, it really is such a lovely reminder to just breathe...
