Christmas Gifting with Emolyne Cosmetics

If someone you are buying a gift for loves makeup, then a brand that has the attention of Vogue is definitely one to look at and that is Emolyne, a brand I was first introduced to back in 2022,

Emolyne is the British beauty brand that is empowered by the belief that beauty is for everyone, and as such, they create makeup that celebrates every ethnicity, gender, age, and lifestyle. anedit of lipsticks, lip liners and nail lacquers is available in the same 30 matching colours and some of the most beautiful eyeshadows I have come across, there is something for everyone.

The Lip products are sold under three different categories - Velvet Lip, Defining Lip and Gloss Lip and each of those 30 shades works as a matching trio.

Choosing your shade might, or a shade leaves you spoilt for choice because they are all just so stunning and if you can't decide what will or will not suit you, helpfully there is a Lipstick shade finder on hand to help and this is what I used to choose the shade I have - Uganda.

Uganda is a cool toned mauve shade and anyone who knows me will know, I have a shade type when it comes to lipsticks and this is it. A velvety, semi-matte, highly pigmented and long-lasting lip colour which really is long lasting, matches with its liner and gloss perfectly, they can be worn one their own or together, depending on your preference. As you can see, the Lipstick is packaged in a very luxurious glittering metal golden glittery case and it pops open when you press the E button on its top. The lipstick bullet is embossed with the brands E logo and is curved perfectly for an easy application.

The Defining Lip Liner is smooth and creamy when applied and again, the colour payoff is incredible, so much so that I often wear the liner and the gloss day to day and then the lipstick if I am going out. The gloss, again in the shade Uganda is a high shine gloss which is neither sticky or tacky when applied and is infused with vitamin E for a silky and hydrating finish.

The lipsticks are priced at £23, The Defining Line is £15 and the Gloss is just £17, all really affordable and just stunning.

If eye makeup is more your cup of tea, when Emolyne also has that box ticked too and I shared a reel over on Instagram of two the Eyeshade Cremes (£24).

In the shades Pemba Shores and Benin Bronze, these are two of the most wearable shades for someone who likes the more natural look. Pemba Shores is a warm gold shade which has a multidimensional finish. Then we have Benin Bronze, which as the name might give away is a deep bronze shade and again, it is a creamy shadow with a multidimensional finish.

Both of these Eyeshadow Creme's are easy to apply with your finger, a brush or even a makeup sponge, depending on the look you are going for, but because they have such rich pigments, you only need a small amount to really make your eyes pop.

The last product to share is the Lashline Lacquer (£19) and it is available in two shades - Kalahari Brown or BoBende Black and I have the Kalahari Brown, which is an earthy brown shade and perfect for my colouring as I find a black is too harsh.  With its smudge-proof felt tip liquid eyeliner, this liner dries quickly, so if you are wanting to smudge it, you will need to be quick because once it is there, it is not budging and it is waterproof! Thankfully easy to remove with eye makeup remover!

As you might have guessed from this post, all the shades are named for African countries or landmarks which makes it all the more special and the brand owner, Emolyne, being half Ugandan, half Danish but based here in London decided to create a brand that would cater to those looking for coordinated colours and that she has most definitely done.  Each product is also vegan friendly, cruelty free and paraben free.

Caci Skin Gift Guide 2023

With all the running around, stresses, strains and queuing to be done in the run up to Christmas, one of the best gifts you can give to yourself is some time out and self love. Just over a year ago, I was introduced to Caci Beauty and as a brand it is one you don't forget using and thoroughly enjoying, and the products won't annoy your bank manager with their pricing!

Today, I have a selection of amazing products to share, which give you time to sit down and relax and just take some time out.

Starting with the eyes, I have an Eye Revive Mask (£7.50/£35) and it is one of my favourite products from the brand. This is a transparent silicon gel eye mask which has a soothing and calming effect on tired eyes. On the skin, this mask feels absolutely incredible when applied to the face as it is cool to the touch but soaked in enough serum to really feel relaxing. For anyone who suffers with tired, puffy eyes, then the soothing and calming action works wonders.

Packed full of amazing ingredients including Hyaluronic acid and Cucumber extract which work together to deeply nourish, cool and moisturise the skin, there is also the inclusion of Green Tea extract which helps to detoxify the skin and reduce puffiness and Collagen to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Staying with the eyes is the Eye Revive Serum (£36) and it is described as being a line-smoothing, vegan-friendly lightweight eye wonder serum that delivers long-lasting hydration and visibly brightens the eye area - So quite the clam. 

It uses calming and conditioning seaweed extracts alongside powerful rice and soy peptides that work to diffuse the appearance of dark circles and boost collagen for smoother, firmer skin, water-binding hyaluronic acid, and line-reducing biotin. What I love about this product is how it is packaged, almost like a syringe, you get to use just enough product without any waste and it is easily absorbed with a few finger tappings.

Next is something for the hands and it is the Rejuvenating Hand Mask (£8/£37.50). I am lucky enough to have used these before and have re-purchased them because they are just so lovely to use.  

Described as being a hydrating and nourishing pair of gloves which are perfect to use at home as part of your regular hand care routine. Hydrating and nourishing, these gloves contain a host of powerful ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolysed Collagen and Shea Butter, they come together to help combat the signs of ageing by softening the skin and smoothing the appearance of fine lines. After use, these Rejuvenating Hand Mask will leave your hands feeling soft, supple and re-hydrated, all for just 20 minutes of your time.

If you love face masks, then this Hydro Mask (£8.50/£40) is one of the most soothing and easy to use masks I have come across. The mask itself comes in two parts, one for the upper part of your face and one for the lower part of your face and I find that it fits really well to all contours of the face and it doesn't slip off either.

The mask with its infusion of ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and rose water instantly sooth and calm as soon as it has been applied to the skin as well as to pump the skin with moisture, so if you have dry skin, then this is a mask you really should try.

The Amino Peptide Lift Complex (£45) is a product you didn't know you needed to try until now! Utilising a combination of clinically effective peptides and amino acids which help to improve the firmness of the skin, reduce expression lines and wrinkles and help combat the signs of ageing.

Using an Amino-Lift Peptide Complex which helps to improve skin firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and it works along Peptides to achieve what is referred to as being a Botox™ like effect that inhibits the contraction of the facial muscles responsible for the formation of lines and wrinkles.  I don't have enough wrinkles to show the difference this product has made, but what it does is help with firmness, especially around the jowls!

The last product I have to share in this gift guide is the Purifying Silver Mask (£8.50/£40) and its job is to soothe, calm and improve the appearance of problematic skin.

Like the Hydro Mask above, this mask comes in two parts, one for the upper part of your face and one for the lower part of your face. Infused with pure colloidal silver, for its anti-bacterial properties, it works to help skin that is prone to blemishes and breakouts. There is also a combination of other key ingredients such as Aloe Leaf Extract, Seaweed Extract and Marine Collagen and they work together to maintain healthy skin and a clearer complexion.  I adore this mask, instantly soothing, especially when it has been in the fridge for a few hours before use, it fits onto the contours of your face and doesn't budge - though my advice is to use the 10-20 minutes of time that this mask needs to work, to lie down somewhere and relax, to really reap the benefits.

So there you have three inexpensive but amazingly good products from CACI Beauty which would make an incredible gift to yourself!

FaceFact Wonder Cream

I have featured facefact a few times now on my blog and if you haven't yet come across them, they are a brand that is described as being affordable and feel good skincare and today I am featuring the Wonder Cream.

Described as being a dreamy blend of botanical extracts and antioxidants which help to rejuvenate, boost hydration and get that youthful, smooth, glowing feeling. It is packaged in a small glass jar and already a few people have asked if it is a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream and personally, I don't think it is.

This Wonder Cream has been expertly crafted with a host of amazing ingredients which includes:

Black Friday with The Body Shop 2023

In this post, I am going to share some of the bargains you can get - mainly all perfect stocking fillers.

Zelens state that each product is rigorously trialled and tested, "until the exact balance and synergistic action of ingredients is established to trigger the cellular processes responsible for regeneration and repair. Hailed as a ‘new dimension in skin perfection’, each jar is brimming with potent botanical extracts… and completely free from false promises", so quite the bold claim, but an exciting one.

The three products I have been getting to know is the Shiso Balm, Tea Shot and the Provitamin D3 Mist and each one fits easily into an existing skincare routine or you can use them to create a routine that is easy to follow, all depending on your skincare needs.

Starting with the Zelens Shiso Balm Radiance Cleanser (£50) . Described as being a moisturising liquid cleansing balm formulated to gently, yet thoroughly, cleanse the skin and remove make-up.

Enriched with Shiso (Japanese mint) which lends antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Nourishing olive oil helps to moisturise and soften so the skin appears smooth, soothed and luminous post-rinse. Shiso Oil which has a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and its job is to replenish moisture, reinforce the skin’s natural barrier and repair, heal and soothe. Olive Oil which is a good antioxidant and also rich in omega-9, Glycerin which is a humectant, a substance that attracts moisture from the environment and increases the amount of water in the surface layers of the skin and Yeast which is rich in amino acids, essential minerals, beta-glucan and vitamins. Plus a few more ingredients.

On the skin, this daily cleanser transforms into a light milk when it comes into contact  with water to purify the skin without stripping it of its natural moisture and it does an excellent job at removing makeup and other detritus in its way to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch. 

The second product is Tea Shot Urban Defence Serum (£90) and it is absolutely delightful to use.

Described as being a highly concentrated defence serum, it is made up of a proprietary blend of five different types of teas - hence the name it has been given - green tea, matcha green tea, white tea, black tea and fermented black tea ad breaking them down, this is why they are so important:

• Green tea: Rich in polyphenols, this tea has a strong antioxidant, photoprotective, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Green tea inhibits the breakdown of collagen and induces significant DNA repair. It also has anti-ageing properties as it inhibits the breakdown of collagen.
• Matcha green tea: Rich in polyphenols, theanine and caffeine, matcha tea shows excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Helps protect the skin from oxidative stress and premature skin ageing caused by free radicals. Interestingly, it is Matcha which gives Tea Shot Urban Defence Serum its beautiful green colour.
• White tea: Has excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, astringent and skin-soothing properties. It also has an energising and stimulating effect.
• Black tea: Rich in polyphenols and tannins, black tea shows antioxidant, soothing, conditioning, tonic and firming properties.
• Kombucha: Rich in probiotics, flavonoids and other polyphenols. It helps restore volume through lipofilling activity, decreases skin roughness and improves overall skin quality by enhancing smoothness and radiance.

This moisturising serum is designed to help protect the skin from daily environmental pollution and stressors and combat visible signs of premature skin ageing caused by free radicals, the end result being skin feels protected and looks healthy and youthful with this brightening serum. On the skin, this silky smooth green serum is one that should be used daily, after cleansing and is perfect for use morning and evening applied to the face, neck and décolleté.

Then finally we have the Provitamin D3 Fortifying Mist (£52) and this is such a beautiful product, I wish I didn't love it as much as I do.

Described as being an ultra-fine facial mist that has been formulated to give dry skin a vitality boost throughout the day. This hydrating face mist not only reinforces skin barrier function but also helps to protect it from environmental aggressors and comforts the skin while supporting its natural recovery capacity.

Enriched with ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Yeast, Provitamin D3 and Glycerin, you will also find the likes of Beetroot which is rich in betaine, this moisturising active ingredient potentiates the effect of provitamin D3 Chicory which restores the functions of the vitamin D receptor, reinforces skin barrier and enhances skin’s natural recovery capacity. Chicory extract also supports the balance of the skin microbiome and also worthy of a mention is Almond Esters which improve skin moisture, skin smoothness and elasticity, while supporting skin barrier repairing.

As this is a mist you can use it daily and as many times as you feel you need to do so, in my case every few hours as I sit in the front of the laptop for most of the day.

This has been an amazing introduction for to Zelens skincare and each product definitely has its wow factor, leaving the issue of the need to try everything the brand has to offer1
