Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review

If you hadn't guessed by now, I am a huge fan of Pixi Beauty/Pixi by Petra and absolutely love the skincare as much as the makeup. The lastest range I am sharing with you is the Hydrating Milky Range, which if I am honest is quite possibly the best packaging ever created for a product launch. I was first introduced to the brand back in 2019 and it held my attention as much then as it does now.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
Nestled inside the mock milk bottle cartons is a skincare routine neatly arranged by Pixi, each box is numbered 1 to 6 giving you the option to Remove, Cleanse, Peel, Tone, Treat and Moisturise, and it is from here that you can decide which products will fit into your range be it all of them, one of them or just a few of them.

The carton at number one is labelled remove and that brings in the Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover. Described as being a gentle bi-phase formula which not only effectively removes eye, face, and lip makeup but also hydrates the skin as it works.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
To use, you need to shake it really well to mix up the ingredients and then grab your cotton wool pad and use the dispenser to soak the pad through and use as you would any other makeup remover.

This product is infused with Coconut Extracts and Probiotics which work to provide added moisture and a balancing effect on your skin. Then we have Willow Bark Extract which is known for its ability to tone the skin before Cinnamon Extract is included for its anti-inflammatory benefits. I had run out of my usual makeup remover when this arrived, so I swapped over and I am really impressed with how well it removed the most stubborn of waterproof mascaras, we all know which one can be a nightmare to budge, well this one budges it without the need to excessively rub the eyes.

Makeup removed the next task is to cleanse and in an evening, I am a huge fan of double cleansing, especially because I wear SPF every single day and I need to ensure my skin is cleansed properly.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review

The Hydrating Milky Cleanser is the next product and this is a really creamy cleanser which you need just a small amount of when using because it is quite rich in texture but at the same time gentle on the skin. I tend to use this cleanser with my Foreo because I find it works a lot better than just using my hands and by using my Foreo, I know how much of the cleanser I need to use through experience.

After cleansing, my skin always feels smooth to the touch and it is definitely clean without feeling stripped. As with the Makeup Remover, this cleanser contains coconut, probiotics, Willowbark Extract Cinnamon Extract but it differs slightly due to the inclusion of and jojoba Esters, all of which come together to soothe, hydrate and nourish the skin.

The one product I have used and reviewed on my blog from this collection is the Hydrating Milky Peel and it is described as being a gentle micro-peeling cream which is so gentle, you can use it daily if you wish too. Its job is to clear away dead skin cells for delicate brightening of the skin.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
This formula is enriched, as with the rest of the range, with calming and hydrating coconut which sit alongside some skin-balancing probiotics and natural humectant cellulose which gently exfoliates the skin, without stripping it, to lift away dead and dry skin cells, as well as dirt, impurities and toxins all without irritating. Also included is arginine which helps to increase collagen and elastin production for firmer, plumper skin but it also acts as an antioxidant to the skin too.  Again, only the smallest amount needed and once on the skin, which I massage to apply, I leave it for a few minutes and then remove with a muslin cloth which has been soaking in warm water to ensure every single trace is removed and the end result is much smoother and softer skin.

After the Milky Peel, we have the Milky Tonic and if Pixi are known for one product it is their Tonic's. Described as being calming and hydrating, this Tonic is enriched with oat extract which helps to soothe and balance the skin. You will also find Jojoba Milk which not only rehydrates the skin but it also nourishes. Then we have Green Tea which has powerful antioxidant properties.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review

On the skin, I find this Tonic really soothing and calming and it comes a very close second to my love for the Rose Tonic which I absolutely adore.

The Hydrating Milky Serum is the next product and without question, there is always a serum within my skincare routine, whether it is one I use in the morning, evening or both. Described as being a revitalising boost for skin that intensely hydrates while it protects and improves elasticity.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
I love the serum, but I don't like the dropper dispenser, I find it doesn't do the job it was intended to do, so I have swapped my dropper over to one from another product and it works so much better as it has a pump action dispenser and I find just two pumps from that is perfect.  On the skin, this serum is really hydrating and incredibly smoothing. The scent of this serum is one of Rose, which happens to be one of the main ingredients and it works alongside Jojoba Oil, and Aloe Vera nourish, while Glycerin traps moisture to the skin for a plumped effect.

The final product sits within the moisturising section and it is the Hydrating Milky LotionThis lotion is described as being a multi-use moisturising lotion and it can be used on your face and your body. Enriched with a blend of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Cocoa Seed Extract which together moisturise, nourish, hydrate and protect the skin alongside the use of Sweet Almond Oil and Black Oat Extract too.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
I have used this lotion on both my body and on my face and what I like is that, although it is a fairly thick formula it can take a while to absorb if you use too much but, if you have got a while to laze around and let the cream work its magic, it is very much worth applying to those areas where your skin feels dehydrated, which for me was my shins, apply a layer and let it sink in, almost like having a leg mask for me.

This collection has been quite the delight to use and get to know, the Cleanser and the Peel I have absolutely loved and I adore the rose scent of the serum, each product can have its own place within your skincare routine and you can create a routine if you don't already have one.  You can find out more about each product from the Pixi website* and Cult Beauty* with prices starting as low as £10.

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Range

With spring having well and truly arrived, the lovely people over at Murad* have a relaunched the Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Range and I have absolutely loved trialling it on my skin. As a child, Dr Murad had acne and he created the Murad brand to help others with skin problems. The Murad Retinol Youth Renewal range being one of the ranges within the brand which do just that.  It is designed to not only smooth lines but to also firm, even tone, and boost radiance.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Range
This range is powered by Dr Murad's Retinol Tri-Active Technology: a fast-acting retinoid, a time-released retinol and a retinol booster.  The formula is described as being part preventative, part corrective, helping to minimise the signs of ageing. It is therefore potent yet gentle and together, the three products can be used together to create a night time skincare routine.

The first product of the trio is the one which should be used first and it is the Retinol Youth Renewal Serum (£75)To be used after cleansing, this serum uses the Tri-Active Technology mentioned above as well as Hyaluronic spheres which impart long-lasting hydration for that radiant glow. Then we have Swertia Flower Extract which works to increase resilience which in turn reveals a luminous, youthful-looking complexion.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Range
On the skin, this serum is really quick to absorb itself and you need no more than two pumps on the skin to cover the entirety of your face.

The second product is the Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum (£70) - We know that it is our eyes which are often one of the first areas to show signs of ageing with laughter lines and that dreaded term 'Crows Feet' which I really dislike. This Youth Renewal Eye Serum has been specifically formulated with a powerful mix of retinol and rich Marine Kelp Complex which both work together to reduce the appearance of crows feet and dark circles whilst at the same time keeping the eyes moisturised.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Range
Again, this serum is really lightweight and not at all sticky on the skin, it is said to be suitable for the most sensitive of skin types and can be used every night.  When used, the advice with an eye product is to use your index finger if you don't have a gadget to hand and gently pat the serum into the skin, avoiding the eye, but you can use this on your eyelids.

The final product is the Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream (£70) - Described as being the secret to looking like a spring chicken all year round, again this powerful cream contains the Murad Retinol Tri-Active Technology so whilst you sleep, the Retinol is time-released to work its magic in minimising the appearance of wrinkles and smoothing out the skin. Unlike some retinol, the cream also contains a blend of natural extracts that keep the skin hydrated as well as lifting and firming for an overall more youthful and luminous looking complexion and again we see the use of Swertia Flower Extract and it works alongside peptide-rich Red Algae Extract and together within this cream, they create a lifting and firming effect to help improve elasticity and redefine facial contours.
Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Range
The new formula is again suitable for all skin types and as retinol makes the skin more sensitive to sun damage, the cream should only be used at night and an SPF should always be worn in the day.

This entire collection is available online via Murad*, Lookfantastic* and places such as John Lewis if it sounds like something you have been looking for.  I have had no adverse reactions whilst using it, though I am lucky enough to use most products on my skin.

Sanctuary’s new WELLNESS and VITAMIN C ranges
A recent survey from Sanctuary found that modern busy lifestyles can often leave little room for ‘me’ time, so with this in mind, they created a range of time conscious, efficacious Vitamin C powered products to transform your mood from the outset and leave you feeling uplifted and glowing for the rest of the day ahead!  Powered by Vitamin C, this entire range features products for the face and the body and they are infused with turmeric, caffeine & hyaluronic acid to transform your morning mood and leave you feeling uplifted, energised & glowing for the day ahead.

Bronnley Soap Collections

I was very recently kindly gifted some of the soaps on offer from Bronnley, a brand which was founded back in 1884 by English-based, Paris-trained perfumer, James Bronnley. Made in Britain, Bronnley offers a wide variety of products from soaps and fragrance to shower gel, bath fizzers and hand care.
Bronnley Soap Collections
The soaps that I have been kindly gifted are beautifully presented in boxes and are available in a variety of fragrances, depending on your preference be it florals, Citrus or something between the two.
Enliven your skin with our extravagant range of triple milled soaps, enriched with Almond Oil and Shea Butter for a rich moisturising experience. All of our soaps are highly fragranced with the perfume of each of our stunning collections.
I was kindly gifted three different soap fragrances and each one of them smells just absolutely beautiful and they would make such a lovely gift

Firstly we have Lemon and Neroli and it is described as being a vibrant and uplifting fragrance which has the zesty top notes of sparkling Sicilian lemon and mandarin that give way to a heart of lemon blossom and neroli resting on a soft base of precious woods.
Bronnley Soap Collections
As soon as the lid is removed from the box, that zesty scent of Lemon wafts into the air and it is incredibly fresh.

The second collection of soaps is Lime and Bergamot and just as the Lemon and Neroli, these soaps are described as having a fresh and enticing fragrance which has piquant top notes of bright lime, bergamot and grapefruit that surrender to a bed of warm amber and sweet woods.
Bronnley Soap Collections
For me, the scent isn't as strong as the Lemon and Neroli, but once used under warm water, that fragrance does come to life, just in a much more subtle way.

The third set of soaps is the Rose soaps and my favourite of the three collections because I adore the scent of Rose. Again, the most wonderful description which starts with the Leafy Green top notes which rest elegantly on a heart of rose and geranium. Then we have honeyed spice nuances with hints of delicate white musk which entangle and twine throughout like a country garden rambling rose.
Bronnley Soap Collections
The scent is very much that of a Rose garden, if you have ever had the luxury of being able to walk throughout as the flowers bloom, then that scent is the one which has been transported into these soaps and it is just divine.

Each one of the soaps across the Bronnley range is triple Milled and the lather is not only rich but these soaps are also enriched with shea butter to help cleanse, nourish and moisturise the skin.
Bronnley Soap Collections

These soaps come boxed priced between £12 and £15 per set or individually they are priced around £6.

Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush

Since having my hair cut, styling my hair has been an absolute joy, beforehand it would be knotty and despite washing and conditioning, it would never sit right or feel right. Now, with my new 'do, I have been able to try a whole host of new hair products and the latest product to arrive, the Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush (£79.99).
Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush
Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush

As someone who absolutely adores my hair straighteners and who has tried quite a few different styling brushes, never did I expect to find someone I use as much as I use this. It comes with the tagline - "Bringing Salon worthy hair to the comfort of your home with Instyler" and this ceramic styling brush is described as delivering instant shiny, straight and smooth styles that last.  For me, I like that this brush isn't too heavy to hold, it glides through knots and tangles or did when I had longer hair and it doesn't create static - a huge bonus.

The brush features 65 powerful ceramic heated plates which are fixed to the base of the brush and because of their size, they get as close to the hair root as possible without burning your scalp and this is due to the ionic cool tip bristles, which as well as evenly distributing heat, don't burn the skin or fry your hair. There is the option to use four different heat settings with 150°C being the lowest and 230°C being the highest and ultimately, depending on your hair type, it is for you to decide which is best, I tend to sit around the middle temperature for my hair. Once the brush is plugged in and switched on, it takes around 5 seconds to heat up and then it is ready to use, you will notice that your heat setting buttons will flash until the brush is ready to use and then once it hits that required temperature, the flashes stop and the lights become static.

Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush

Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush
Now the difference between this ceramic styling brush and any other that I have used is what Instyler call the Precision Press TM which has been designed to create tension which enhances your styling technique, in a nutshell, essentially the styling arm gives you more control when it comes to running the brush through your hair, so much so, that you can actually use the brush with one hand rather than two and it helps create that much straighter and glossier look.  I have shoulder length hair which is quite thick, so with straighteners, I have to section my hair into around 8 smaller sections to get the straightness I want, but with this brush, I can run it through much bigger sections of hair, so it saves me time and effort, especially in a morning when I am usually late to leave for work.

As a reminder of those key features:

  • 65 Ceramic Heated Plates to separate and smooth and style hair
  • Precision Press TM to create tension and enhance styling technique
  • Instant Heat
  • Cool Tip Bristles
  • Up to 215 Degrees
  • Suitable for use on human hair extensions
  • 3m swivel cord
To date it is the best straightening brush I have tried, I love that I can get close enough to my hairs roots to give them a bit of a lift rather than have them flat against my head, I like that I can touch the bristles without burning my fingers (or head) and because it doesn't fill my hair with static and frizz it also ticks those boxes too.

You can find the Instyler Glossie Ceramic Styling Brush via Boots and from Instyler as well where it is currently on offer with free shipping and 1/3 off the price.

Too Faced Hangover Good To Go Skin Protecting Moisturizer SPF25

I am a big fan of Too Faced makeup*, especially the mascara's, of which I recently shared a review of Damn Girl.  More recently the brand has just released a series of skincare products which include a hydrating serum and the product I am sharing with you today - the Too Faced Hangover Good To Go Skin Protecting Moisturizer SPF25.
Too Faced Hangover Good To Go Skin Protecting Moisturizer SPF25

Even though we are on lockdown, I have still been taking advantage of going for a walk every single day and this moisturiser has been my go too.

Hydrate and protect your complexion with the Too Faced Hangover Good to Go Skin Loving SPF 25 Moisturizer.

This formula is really quick yo absorb on the skin and thankfully it is also non-sticky and doesn't leave any white marks on the skin.
Too Faced Hangover Good To Go Skin Protecting Moisturizer SPF25
Too Faced Hangover Good To Go Skin Protecting Moisturizer SPF25
It does have SPF25 which does provide some daily protection to help shield your skin against the damaging effects of UVA and UVB rays. Lightweight feeling, it like the rest of the Hangover range is infused with Coconut Water which helps provide hydration. Other ingredients include Cinnamon Bark Extract, Vitamins C and E as well as Aloe extract.

As this comes in a pump-action bottle, I find that one pump, as shown above, is more than enough to cover my entire my face and as well as acting as your moisturiser and SPF this product can also be worn alone or used as a primer base for makeup.

Priced at £29 for this 40ml tube, you can find it via Too Faced*Cult Beauty*, ASOS*, Boots* and Lookfantastic to name a few places.

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Masks

The Yes to Skincare* range is one I first got to know many years ago with the Yes To Carrots range, within which was a scrub I absolutely loved.  Fast forward a few years and anyone who personally knows me will know how much I adore tomatoes but to use them in skincare is something which intrigues me.
Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Masks
I was sent two products from the Yesto Tomatoes range and both masks - the Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask and Detoxifying Charcoal Paper Mask sit within the Yes To Tomatoes collection, of which, the products are designed for those with combination and blemish-prone skin, aside from these two masks there is also a fair number of other products to choose from and are all guaranteed to contain at least 95% natural ingredients.

I love a good sheet mask, they are often less time consuming than applying a liquid version and depending on the material they are made from, they feel quite soothing and relaxing on the skin.  This Detoxifying Charocal Paper Mask (£3.49) is a single use mask

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Masks
Designed to be used on freshly cleansed skin, this mask is formulated with charcoal to detoxify and clean pores and tomatoes which are a natural source of antioxidants.  To use, you simply need to unfold it from the sachet and then apply it to your skin, fitting it around you nose and eyes to give a comfortable placing and then let it work its magic for around 10 minutes.  During those 10 minutes, you might feel a slight tingling on the skin, this is absolutely normal and nothing to worry about, I felt only the slightest of tingles, similar to that of Pixi Glow Tonic the first few times I used it.

The second mask is the Yesto Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask which is packaged within a squeezy plastic tube and what I like about how this mask is designed is the applicator which sits at the end, it doubles up as a spatula to give an even coverage of the mask.
Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Masks
Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Masks
Again, this mask is formulated with charcoal and tomato extract which helps to eliminate dead skin and excess oil, helping to leave skin naturally clear. To use, simply smooth a thick, even layer of the mask over the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin, avoiding the eye area, eyebrows and hairline using the spatula.  Allow the mask to fully dry, which usually takes around 15 minutes and then, again using the same spatula, lift the edges of the mask and peel from the skin, something which I always find quite a satisfying task.

I liked using both of these products and even though I suffered no reactions from either, for the price they would make a nice gift or treat for someone, especially as currently, everything is on offer via Feelunique*.

Caudalie - Discover some of the Brand's Bestsellers

Caudalie* is one of my favourite skincare brands, it is also one I have featured on this blog a lot over the past few years with a particular love for the Vinopure Toner which is one of my most repurchased products.
Caudalie - Discover some of the Brand's Bestsellers
Today I am sharing some of Caudalie's best-selling products*, the ones you need to try if you haven't tried them already, the ones I absolutely love using and the ones that make for an amazing pamper session.

One of the cult products from the collection is the Beauty Elixir, again it has featured on my blog quite a few times. Described as being the Modern Day Woman's Elixir, Mathilde Thomas, founder of the brand, discovered a historical recipe for the 'Elixir of Youth' which was prepared for Isabelle, the Queen of Hungary back in the 16th Century and it is this recipe which inspired Mathilde to reinvent the mysterious herbal infusion for herself.

Vegan and 100% Natural, this Elixir, once spritzed, fills the air with notes of benzoin, myrrh, orange, blossom, grape and rose and together they work to give your complexion a rosy glow. Added to those ingredients is astringent rosemary, the stimulating essence of lemon balm and then mint making quite an incredible scent. The scent aside, these ingredients come together to smooths fine lines, tightens pores and it also gives the complexion an instant boost of radiance, helps calm redness and you can also use this Elixir to set makeup! Quite the multi-tasker in one bottle and one of my other favourite ways to use this Elixir is to moisturise my beauty blenders.

The Instant Detox Mask is a 10-minute delight to use and it is described as being perfect to purify stressed city dwelling skin, treating all forms of free radical damage. The formula of this mask uses 98% natural pink clay as well as coffee to purge the pores of blackhead-causing dirt and excess oil. Papaya enzymes are also included and they help to brighten and invigorate, as well as grape marc which exhibits powerful detoxifying properties, together they work to draw out impurities and toxins to refine the skin's texture, tighten pores and leave your complexion looking even.

Once on the skin, this mask doesn't irritate like some clay masks do to my skin, instead, it feels soothing and it is designed to be used twice a week, you need just a thin layer to cover the face and it is to be left on between 5-10 minutes and once it has been removed, you complete your skincare routine.

Finally, we have the Vinoperfect Radiance Complexion Correcting Serum which is described as being a worldwide cult favourite. This anti-dark spot serum contains Caudalie's patented Viniferine, something that is said to be 62 times more effective than Vitamin C for boosting radiance and evening out the complexion. The serum is suitable for all skin types and works to reduce the appearance of dark spots, including pregnancy mask, acne marks, sun pigmentation and age-related dark spots, and prevents them from reappearing.

As a serum, it is incredibly smooth in texture, but what I absolutely adore is the refreshing and light fragrance which combines the notes of citrus blossom, orange tree leaves, watermelon and mint.  An oil-free formula which doesn't leave the skin feeling tacky when used, this serum absorbs really quickly and is non-irritating.

Three incredible products from an amazing brand, all of which my skin absolutely loves. Perfect for a pamper afternoon, evening or just whenever you need to focus on your self-care.  You can find out more about Caudalie and the rest of the products on offer from the brand right here.
