Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Sterling Silver Collection

On a day to day basis, I tend to wear minimal jewellery, often just my wedding and engagement rings and maybe a pair of earrings, I am not someone who likes to be covered in bling. One brand I do absolutely love is Thomas Sabo, a brand who I feel best represents my personality and whom I go to when I buying presents and gifts for family and friends. The Thomas Sabo Slogan being - Unconventional, Contemporary and Vintage

A few months back I reviewed the Cancerian Charm Necklace (here) which I have had so many comments on because it is just stunning. Today I am back with more Thomas Sabo Jewellery from their Rebel At Heart Collection which I was kindly gifted.

Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Sterling Silver Collection
Whenever you go into Thomas Sabo, or look online, there is aways something to The Rebel At Heart Collection which is described as being Extravagant and Expressive and for the Rock 'n' Roll Soul. The Sterling Silver Collection, which is where ive selected pieces from and it is a collection that is all about variety. There are different ranges for both men and women and it is a collection which caters for all styles and tastes. Whether you want engravable pieces and stunning earring, statement skull rings and mystical Karma Beads, there is something for everyone and every taste! The one difficulty is choosing my favourite items and it did take several days agonising what I liked the look of the most, but eventually, I settled on the following:

The first item I chose comes from the Silver Bracelet selection with the Black Classic Pave Bracelet (£98) and again, it is just stunning. I have quite small wrists, so usually end up having bracelets re-sized to fit, but this one is an adjustable bracelet, featuring a lobster clasp and it didn't need any altering at a
ll.
Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Sterling Silver Collection

Along the chain, there is three circle Thomas Sabo discs and within each one is 7 sparkling stones, which are black in colour and again work really well against the silver discs, all of which have the words Thomas Sabo inscribed onto them. Again, this bracelet can be worn for both a casual everyday event or it can be dressed up for a more formal occasion.  I have worn it on both occasions and it always gets comments.

The second item I chose from the Earrings for women section is these Royalty Black Ear Stud (£49). I have really small ears, so I always opt for earrings which don't emphasise how small they are, so no large hoops or anything that dangles too low.
Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Sterling Silver Collection

What stood out to me when choosing these earrings is the design, unlike anything else I own and quite striking in design, the description reads as follows:

The cross motif of these ear studs impresses with vintage charm, which really comes into its own thanks to the artistically worked engravings, stone embellishment and blackened Sterling silver.

The cross motif with the black stone embellishments work really well with the bracelet featured above and when worn together make quite the pair. Sitting on 925 Sterling Silver with push back clasps they feature handcrafted precision details and because they are quite dainty, the black stones make them stand out.  If my jewellery doesn't feature skulls then somewhere there is usually always a cross and these fit in perfectly with my style and personality.

The final item I chose is in keeping with the other two items and it is this Silver Necklace called the Sterling Silver Glam & Soul Royalty Star Necklace (£119) which is just stunning to look at.  The Glam & Soul Range is described as being a collection which is made up of versatile women’s jewellery and watches perfect for all styles and occasions and it includes a wide range of necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings. So whether you want simple yet stylish or something a little more of a statement, then this is the collection for you.

I chose this necklace because I love the simplicity of the chain, but the statement made by the Star, as soon as I saw it on the screen, it jumped out at me.
Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Sterling Silver Collection
This necklace has been preciously handcrafted and the star pendant, which is a glittering cubic zirconia embellishment, is fitted onto a length-adjustable chain with a lobster clasp as well as white charm carrier, so at any point in time, you can swap and change your pendant. This necklace also comes with the description:
"The magic of the jewellery item is created by the combination of vintage design language and sparkling stone embellishment".
Sitting on a chain which is around 45cm in length, hangs below the neckline and sits flat against the chest and what I really love is how easy this is to wear for a formal or casual occasion, it is totally flattering and shines prettily in daylight.

Keeping the presentation of the jewellery stunning, all Thomas Sabo products are perfectly presented in Thomas Sabo packaging with a gift bag and box.
Thomas Sabo Jewellery - Sterling Silver Collection
Thomas Sabo guarantees the entire range of branded products with a full warranty, covering manufacturing and material defaults for a period of up to two years from the date of purchase.

I would love to know if you have ever purchased anything from Thomas Sabo, or whether anything from their new releases has caught your attention.

Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments

I absolutely love Burt's Bees, there is an incredible story behind the brand which you can find here and there is an abundance of goodness when it comes to products.  New releases from Burt's Bees are always amazing and this time it is the turn of lip conditioning treatments.
Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments
The one product I never expected from Burt's Bees are masks of any sort and yet there are sheet masks for the face and a Moisturising Lip Mas (£3.95).  Packaged inside a bright yellow sachet, this single use lip mask is designed to hydrate and nourish your lips.
Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments
Using a blend of natural ingredients including Meadowfoam Seed and Almond Oils which both hydrate, nourish and moisturise. When I used my mask as part of a pamper day (which was divine) I loved how soothing the lip mask was when applied and how easy it was to use.  Once you have extracted it from the sachet, you simply place it over your lips, keeping your mouth closed and relax for around 5 minutes.  Once the 5 minutes is up, you remove it and I massaged in a little of the excess oils.  The mask isn't greasy or tacky when being used and it doesn't leave your lips feeling greasy either, instead, my lips felt so moisturised and it is definitely a mask I would purchase to use again. A perfect treat for those upcoming cold Winter days.

As part of the pampering routine, the first stage before using the mask was to use the conditioning lip scrub (£6.99).  I am a huge advocate of lip scrubs and think it is just as important to remove the dead and dry skin from your lips as it is the rest of your face and body.
Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments
Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments
This scrub which using a blend of oils and exfoliating honey crystals to gently exfoliate the lips is so gentle yet so effective and removing dead and dry skin cells.  To use, you apply a generous amount to your lips and then in circular motions, you work the scrub around your lips, as you do so, whilst it isn't overly abrasive, you can feel it working against the skin to remove anything that is loose.  Perfect for using 2-3 times a week.

The final product within this little lip conditioning trip is the Overnight Lip Conditioning Treatment (£6.99) which is just divine.  I am an avid user of overnight balms and creams for my face and I do, every night, apply a lip balm or serum as part of my routine.
Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments
Burt's Bees Lip Conditioning Treatments
Using Ceramides which help to support your skin’s barrier and retain moisture for soft, smooth and healthy looking lips, this overnight treatment works to soothe and condition while you sleep and it is the perfect partner to the lip scrub. There is also the use of Jojoba and Sunflower Oils and it is lightly scented using Peppermint Oil. To use, you simply apply liberally before going to bed and leave it to work its magic overnight.  The formula is non-greasy and it does absorb itself slowly into the skin.  What I have found since using it, is that my lips have become less dry and whilst I will always use a lip balm, I love that I have a product that can give that extra bit of TLC when I need it and one that is 100% natural.

If your lips are in need of some TLC, then this trio of goodies from Burt's Bees are the perfect products for a lip pampering session.

Revlon PhotoReady Prep Set Refresh Mist Makeup Setting Spray

As far as I am concerned you can never have too many setting sprays in your stash and if it doesn't more than just set your makeup, then you are on to a winner. The high street is packed full of brands who have released their own setting sprays and whilst my favourite firmly sit with both touch in SOL and of course the cult classic Urban Decay, I am still open to trying others. Until a few weeks ago, I had no idea Revlon had their own version and admittedly, Revlon isn't a brand who features much on this blog, so when it arrived through my letterbox from Superdrug, I was keen to give it a try.
Revlon PhotoReady Prep Set Refresh Mist Makeup Setting Spray

The Revlon PhotoReady Prep Set Refresh Mist comes in a 56ml bottle and is priced at £7.99 from Superdrug and whilst initially it sounds quite expensive for such a small bottle, I was prepared to give it a try and I also need a travel size option for going away for a few days and this one fits perfectly into my bag.

Revlon state that this PhotoReady Mist is a multi-tasking product, something I am always championing and wanting to try, described as being a Triple Duty product in one spritz it works to :
  • Prime: Hydrating formula infused with botanical fruit complex, leaves skin softer and smoother. Spray before applying makeup to create a smooth, even canvas.
  • Set: Fine micro mist creates an invisible weightless veil on the skin to lock in makeup all day. Spray after application to set your freshly applied makeup look all day without fading or smudging.
  • Refresh: Refreshing cucumber scent reawakens tired skin and senses. Reapply spray throughout the day to refresh your skin and maintain a perfected finish.”

This product has a really super fine mist that manages to evenly coat your face without leaving you feeling drenched or as though you have splashed your face with one.  The Cucumber scent is definitely noticeable, but in a nice refreshing way.

Having tried this Mist to my prime my skin, I didn't find it was as good as using an actual primer. I have combination/oily skin, so I need to use a primer which can cope with that. As a setting spray, I didn't find that this fared too badly, admittedly I have used it during some of the hottest weather we have had for some time, but it did set my makeup and it did last pretty well into the afternoon.  Then when it comes to refreshing, I think this is where the strengths lie with this product, especially in the Summer heat, that kick of cucumber is just divine, especially if you pop the mist into the fridge before using it, to add a little extra coolness.

Do you have a favourite setting spray?

Face Masking with Generation Clay

I have had a love/hate relationship with clay masks for years, there are some brands whose products literally just irritate my skin and make it sore to the touch and then there are other brands whose products I just absolutely love and so does my skin.
Face Masking with Generation Clay
Face Masking with Generation Clay

I love a good masking session and over the past few months, I have been getting to know a brand called Generation Clay. Hailing all the way from the other side of the world in Australia, Generation Clay described themselves as follows:
Australia: home to a mecca of untapped natural resources that help ingredients-conscious beauty consumers achieve a lit-from-within glow – sans makeup or Snapchat filters. Harnessing all-natural wonders of the skincare world – the outback's millennial pink kaolin clay, healing purple bentonite clay and impurity-purging white activated charcoal – along with supercharged straight-from-the-earth superheroes (including old man weed, desert lime and Kakadu plum) our trio of Generation ClayTM masks make the case for going Aussie, and au naturel, stronger than ever before.
With three clay masks in within their arsenal, it is hard to pick a favourite because each one does something different but here they are.

Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask

Packed with locally sourced superfruit Davidson Plum, the Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask works to rejuvenate dull and tired skin while lightening dark circles and pigmentation.
Ingredients within this mask include Desert Lime, a thorny Australian citrus fruit that boosts hydration, assists with the absorption of antioxidants and increases collagen production. Then there are also two key ingredients:

  • Bentonite Clay deep cleans
  • Aloe Vera soothes and reduces redness

What I love about each one of these masks, is as well as having very study packaging, which essentially means I've dropped the tubs many times over and have still managed to dent them, break them, crack or smash them, they also come with an accompanying brush which I personally find quite handy, though I do have a reusable spatula which I use to apply my masks anyway. With regular use, skin is left radiant, restored, and refined after using this mask.

Generation Clay Urban Defense Purifying Pink Australian Clay Mask
This mask is described as being 'An essential for city-dwelling skincare enthusiasts' which is most definitely me! Living in London, I am all too aware at just how polluted the air is and just how vile my skin looks after a day of being out and about.

Face Masking with Generation Clay
This Urban Defense Purifying Pink Australian Clay Mask works to protect the skin against free radical damage while at the same time drawing out impurities, toxins, and pollutants. It has ingredients which include Kakadu Plum which is an Australian superfruit packed with vitamin C and so it helps stimulate collagen production, reduce hyperpigmentation, and protect against environmental aggressors and again the two key ingredients:
  • Bentonite Clay deep cleans
  • Aloe Vera soothes and reduces redness
This mask is an absolute delight to use and for me, it is the one I use when I want something a little more soothing on my skin, which this one most definitely is and it smells divine too.

Generation Clay Detoxifying Charcoal Clay Mask
This mask for me is the best of the three. It is formulated Detoxifying Charcoal Clay and within this Mask it works like a magnet to draw out dirt, toxins, and impurities. Perfect for those times when you just feel a double cleanse is not enough to give your skin that clean feeling.
Face Masking with Generation Clay
As well as Charcoal, this mask includes Witch Hazel helps reduce acne and minimize the appearance of pores, while Old Man Weed fights acne-causing bacteria to prevent breakouts and blackheads.   If you have ever tried a facemask which uses Charcoal, then you will know that they are incredible for literally removing all the 'guff' that really gets under the skin.  The first time I used this mask, I was expecting to have mass breakouts and spots everywhere and the end result was one spot on my chin which had been bubbling under the surface for a few days and it arrived and went within a few days.

With all of these masks, you are advised to apply an even layer to clean dry skin and then wait for the mask to tighten, it takes roughly 10-12 minutes for this happen and then using warm water, massage the mask in circular motions to remove before patting the skin dry.

These masks cost £36 each and you can find them on the Revolve website.

My [Secret] YouTube Life by Charlotte Seager

What if your favourite YouTuber's life was a lie?

What if you were the one to expose it?

Are the two lines of text which intrigued me about the novel My [Secret] YouTube Life, a book written by Charlotte Seager, a journalist who has worked on The Guardian, The Times and The Sunday Times. Her interest in YouTube began at the age of 14 whilst looking for a way to create the perfect eyeliner flick and more recently, the chance meeting with some YouTube stars gave her the idea for this book.
My [Secret] YouTube Life by Charlotte Seager
YouTuber LilyLoves has the most an amazing life: there is a rockstar boyfriend, an Insta-worthy London flat and a collection of beauty products that, thanks to a PO Box and some willing PR Companies is growing by the hour. Then we meet Melissa (known as Issa), her life is not as amazing as LilyLoves and dreaming of being her is the one thing that keeps Melissa going. As LilyLoves biggest fan, Melissa she spends hours each night watching her videos and liking her posts. Melissa wants that life for herself, only her follower numbers don't grow as quick as LilyLoves.

Throughout the book, we see issues such as confidence, idolisation, trolling, the news, the media, workload and also anxiety, stress, obsession, stalking, toxic relationships, mental health, friendships and so much more. With YouTube being a big part of a lot of lives, much more so now than it was when I was growing up, it is quite an insight into how life can be taken over and in doing so, each and every one of these issues playing its part.  It brings home just what an impact a YouTuber can have on someone's life with their perfect lives on screen, yet that perfect life can be so far moved from reality, as we see with Lily who struggles with life off screen, something which again, Charlotte covers exceptionally well and as a blogger, I often feel overwhelmed and for me it is a hobby, for others it is their life, their career, something we all probably forget occasionally.

As the book progresses, Melissa falls in with the popular, gets herself a boyfriend and with her, her social media followers increase with every new photo.  Then, Melissa discovers a crushing secret about Lily – the ultimate YouTube lie. Does she share Lily’s secret and crush her fame? Or will they both continue to live a lie – both online and offline?  You won't find the answer to that question here, but the book is available on Amazon for £7.49 here.
My [Secret] YouTube Life by Charlotte Seager
Below is a piece written by Charlotte on trolling and social media and the impact on self-esteem for the blogger tour which really makes you think!

“This is the reason men don’t find women like you attractive,” someone once tweeted me in response to saying I was a feminist online. It took me by surprise, but for most people getting comments like this on Twitter isn’t unusual. And certainly not at the worse end of the scale. I have heard of some people - particularly influencers or bloggers - receiving death threats and personal insults on social media on a regular basis.

As a young person growing up online, it’s easy to allow these type of comments to damage your confidence, but you mustn’t. The internet allows a lot of people to share their opinion, but with little accountability. Often people will fire off comments without thinking, in a burst of rage or with a half-formed opinion that they wouldn’t dare say in real life - so remember that the messages you see from ‘trolls’ don’t reflect what most people think.

In my book, My [Secret] YouTube Life, there is a point in the story where both YouTuber LilyLoves and her biggest fan Melissa end up being trolled. At the time both characters feel like their world is crashing down - and it’s easy to feel like this when so much of our identity nowadays is tied up with social media.

My advice, if you ever find yourself being trolled, is not to lose perspective. And to not engage: step away from the screen. When I received a barrage of messages from people angry at me for tweeting about feminism, the first thing I wanted to do was type out an angry response. But instead I bit my tongue, logged out of Twitter and went out for a pre-booked lunch with my friends.

When I came back to the messages, I realised these people all wanted a response from me, and they wanted to upset me. The truth is that ‘troll’ messages are often from someone who hasn’t met you, and probably never will, so you have to try and rise above the criticism.

As I got on with my life, my anger quickly melted away, and after a couple of days I even felt sorry for the people who had gotten so angry over something so small I’d posted on Twitter.

Online trolls want to get a rise from people: it’s no fun if they are ignored, and they’ll quickly move on to something else. So you mustn’t let their messages get to you. Remember the people who matter are those who love and support you in real life, not those who lurk behind usernames on the world wide web!

Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set

I absolutely love my Real Techniques brushes and recently took in a delivery of my favourite brushes from Sam and Nic which I have a blog post being written about now.  In the meantime, this Prep and Prime Brush Set arrived from Superdrug and I have used it rather a lot, it is an addition to THIS set which I bought last year.
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
This Prep and Prime set is comprised of four skin prep tools which are designed to be used for your pre-makeup routine, helping to ensure that a smoother skin surface helps the application of makeup.

The first brush within the set is called the Prep Brush and it has densely packed firm bristles which makes it perfect for applying your moisturiser, serum, primer and even face masks.
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
I have wanted a brush like this for some time, I use a spatula for applying face masks usually, but since having this brush, have made the switch because it is just so much easier.  I also like being able to use it for the application of other products too.

The second brush is the Dry Facial Brush which I thought was an odd name for a brush until I read its description and then used it.
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
It has textured bristles which make it great for gentle exfoliation of the skin and I have found it especially useful when you have a dry patch of skin which needs brushing, usually after you have applied your makeup, it settles and then one little piece of skin appears on the surface, with this brush you sweep it away.

The third brush is something everyone should have within their collection and it is the Under Eye Reviver, honestly, it is an absolute godsend.
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set

It features a stationary aluminium ball for a cooling under eye massage and you can either use it with your eye cream, your eye serum or even just on its own with nothing. The coolness of the aluminium ball helps to de-puff and brighten the under eye to give you that more alert look.

The final brush in this foursome is the Lip Exfoliating Brush and I think this is something genius.  I use lip scrubs and have in the past resorted to using an old toothbrush to remove a stubborn piece of dry skin.
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
Real Techniques Prep & Prime Brush Set
With this brush, you use it in circular motions, with your favourite lip balm or even a lip scrub and as you gently rotate it across your lips, it works to remove dead skin.

All of these brushes have fairly long handles with the bottom half being rubberised to make them easy to grip. I am sure you will agree with me that this is one fantastic set of brushes that you didn't know you needed!

You can find this set HERE for £19.99 in Superdrug.  Are you a Real Techniques fan?

Too Faced Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer

One item from the Too Faced Peaches and Cream range that I really wanted to get my hands on was this Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer (£25). Being more of a bronzer than a blusher girl, though I do sometimes use a blush, I am a huge fan of bronzer from Too Faced. The Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer is one I was repurchased because I adore it and how it looks with my skin tone.
Too Faced Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer
Too Faced Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer

Packaged inside this stunning round compact, which helpfully comes with a mirror in the lid is a bronzer which is just stunning. I am debating whether or not it goes in the 'too pretty to use' drawer or whether I just use it.

This little bronzer contains four different shades:
  • Candied Peach - pink
  • Caramelized Peach - light brown
  • Golden Peach - medium brown
  • Bronzed Peach - dark brown
These shades all come together to give a warm glow to the skin. Within the compact, it does look as though it is shimmery but it is in fact just an overspray and it should disappear after a few uses. When worn, it is a really soft, medium brown which was slightly warm undertones and as you can see from the swatch below it is more semi-matte than matte but it is just stunning.

Too Faced Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer
Too Faced Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer

The formula has a soft, velvety consistency which isn't overly powdery, so blending is easy without too much fallout and depending on how sheer you want the coverage, you can build up the coverage if you want something a little deeper.

I absolutely love the entire Too Faced Peaches and Cream collection which I showcased here and you can also read my review of the Primed and Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer here.

Have you tried anything from the range?

Alpha-H QVC TSV - Supersized!

Anyone how reads this blog regularly will know I am a huge fan of Alpha-H and have really loved getting to know the products and understanding how best to use them with my own skin, much of that advice coming from both Tommy and Michelle themselves.  Having been around for 23 years, Alpha-H formulates their own products and now have over 2000 clinics worldwide offering Alpha-H facials.
Alpha-H QVC TSV - Supersized!
This coming week around midnight Thursday/Early Friday 24th August there will be a QVC UK Today's Special Value (TSV) with Alpha-H for Supersized Customer Favourites.  Bought separately this trio has a value of £113.50 but with the TSV there will be a saving of £80 and you can grab it HERE

Liquid Gold 200ml Supersize – Not too long ago Liquid Gold had a bit of a make over and I am sure it is a product which needs no introduction. A global bestseller, Liquid Gold is described as being a powerful firming serum, this works like an 'overnight facial' to tighten and revitalise tired, ageing skin and radically improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, open pores and acne prone skin conditions.
Alpha-H QVC TSV - Supersized!
The combination of Liquorice Extract and Glycolic Acid together leave my skin feeling just amazing. Liquorice Extract helps to combat acne and hyper-pigmentation and 5% Glycolic Acid (derived from sugar cane) jump-starts the skin's metabolism - refining its texture by dissolving the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, so they're sloughed away with your morning cleanse to reveal a more luminous, glowing complexion. Safe to use on sensitive skin, what I love about Liquid Gold is that although it does tingle slightly the first time you use it, it doesn't irritate or burn. When my skin is in need of a kickstart, I opt to use Liquid Gold three nights a week and on its own, I use no other product with it, including moisturisers or serums because it allows Liquid Gold to work without interruption as Michelle once pointed out.

The second product of this trio is Absolute Eye Complex 30ml Supersize -  A hydrating, skin perfecting serum specially formulated to use over the entire orbital area to combat dark circles, puffiness, hooded eyelids and fine lines.
Alpha-H QVC TSV - Supersized!
A hydrating gel serum uniquely formulated to use over the entire orbital area right up to lash level and over the eyelid to combat dark circles, puffiness, hooded lids and fine lines. Packed with key ingredients which include
  • Hibiscus Flower Extract – gently exfoliates and lightens dark circles.
  • Niacinamide – firms and reduces puffiness.
  • Matrixyl 6 – tightens the skin; plumps out fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Olive Leaf Extract - powerful antioxidant, improves skin elasticity and accelerates cell renewal.
  • Beech Tree Extract - promotes and supports skin hydration and health.
  • Pomegranate - contains high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants; brightens dark shadows.
  • Hyaluronic Acid – attracts and binds moisture to the Skin
This is an eye gel which is ideal for dark circles, dark shadows, puffiness and pigmentation under the eyes and is ideal for use both morning and night and you literally need just the smallest amount on your ring finger, which you then pat around the entire orbital area right up to lash level and over the eyelid. Also, because it is so refreshing you can use this treatment as an eye makeup primer because it can also be applied over makeup, during the day, to revitalise and refresh.

The final item is the Essential Hydration Cream 100ml Supersize - This cream is described as being one which soothes, repairs and revitalises lacklustre complexions and it is suitable for even delicate skin types.
Alpha-H QVC TSV - Supersized!
Lightweight in texture, this cream suspends sea minerals, fatty acids and youth-restoring peptides in the finest essential oils and its key ingredients include:
  • Evening Primrose Oil & Linoleic Acid – essential fatty acids to nourish and improve the skin’s elasticity.
  • Arnica Montana, Cypress, Solomon’s Seal & Barley – complex of anti-inflammatory herbal extracts to reduce redness.
  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 – Peptide technology. Plumps out fine lines and stimulates Collagen production.
  • Rose Geranium Oil: stimulates healing, balances sebum production and tightens pores.
  • Vitamin E – antioxidant: hydrates and repairs cell damage from environmental aggressions.
This cream is incredibly nourishing and isn't too heavy on the skin. Designed to be applied liberally every morning and evening after cleansing, for me, this is a cream I turn too when my skin is feeling really dry because instead of massaging it in, I apply a heavier layer of cream and then leave it on my skin for around 5 minutes and then massage in the excess. It is soothing, it feels divine on the skin and it smells just absolutely heavenly.

So quite a trio and quite the money saving if you are a big Alpha-H fan and even if you have never ever tried anything from the brand before, this is an amazing way in which you can get your hands on some amazing products.  Again, the link you will need is THIS ONE and it goes lives from midnight Thursday/Early Friday 24th August!

touch in SOL Metallist High Shine Bouncy Cream Shadow Palette

I am so very sure by now that on this blog touch in SOL needs no introduction, but just incase you have not heard of this brand and have never seen any of their products before... touch in SOL is a Korean Beauty (K-Beauty) brand and it has been designed to embrace the spirit of Korean innovation. touch In Sol is fun, innovative and uses some of the most advanced technologies. If you know anything about Korean Beauty, you will be aware that they are very much ahead of us when it comes to beauty innovations.  Thankfully, we are now able to get hold of them here in the U.K.

Right now, there is a whole host of newness coming from touch in SOL and I have been very lucky to try absolutely everything the brand has to offer so far and I am yet to find a product I dislike.  New to the stash comes the Metallist High Shine Bouncy Cream Shadow Palette, which for the purpose of this review will be referred too as Bouncy.  I am already a huge fan of the Metallist Foil Shadows (review here) and to see a palette as stunning as this, I couldn't wait to try it.
touch in SOL Metallist High Shine Bouncy Cream Shadow Palette
touch in SOL Metallist High Shine Bouncy Cream Shadow Palette
touch in SOL Metallist High Shine Bouncy Cream Shadow Palette

Described as being a metallic shadow palette with super high payoff and a unique jelly formula that melts into skin, providing vibrant colour payoff and a high-shine finish, this palette is every bit as amazing as the description tells you it is. Packaged inside a dusty pink hard plastic casing, you have the ability to see all six shades inside the palette thanks to the see-through section in the middle.

The six shades are as follows:
  • Snow Jam – is a creamy white metallic.
  • French Ganache – is an orange beige metallic shade.
  • Suede Cacao – is a dark brown metallic.

Then on the bottom row, we have:
  • Maple Mood – is a coral beige metallic.
  • Sangria Rose – is a crimson burgundy metallic.
  • Mystic Tonight – is a fuchsia purple metallic.
From all of these shades, the one I have used the most is Suede Cacao followed by Maple Wood, a shade I never thought I would use.  When it comes to the formula, this is where the palette goes from being beautiful to being really quite unlike anything else I have used. The formula is very much like a gel-cream-powder, it applies like a gel, gives the coverage of a cream and dries like a powder, quite unique and something you will have to try for yourself to understand what I mean. Within the palette, each shade has its own bounce, hence the term 'Bouncy' and the shadow bounces under your finger as you begin to swatch it and there is very very little fallout.
touch in SOL Metallist High Shine Bouncy Cream Shadow Palette

The Swatched from left to right are all unedited and were taken with my compact Canon Camera during the afternoon. The first swatch to the left is taken as is without the flash and not in direct sunlight, then we have a photo taken with the camera flash before finally a photograph taken as the sun was blaring and in each of the three swatches, you can see how pigmented each shade is, even Snow Jam right at the very top, which is just stunning.

I have always applied Bouncy using my fingertips because it gives the best intensity of colours, but you can use a brush to build up the colour to achieve your desired look.  I love the sparkle and glitter each shade has and without being too OTT with the glitter, there is enough to make your eyes sparkle whether you are wearing one shade or mixing them to create a full eye look.

If Bouncy has caught your attention, you can find it on sale for just £34.
