OSKIA’s Renaissance Mask

I hold my hands up to being a face mask addict, I do use at least 2 a week depending on how my skin is feeling and for me, it is a way to wind down and sit still for those few minutes and not be on the move.

Oskia is one brand I am really enjoying the discovery of and the Renaissance Mask is described by many as being a Spa in a jar, it is designed to increase cell turnover, boost radiance and gradually reduce the appearance of fine lines and imperfections.

Pink in colour, the balm is just divine on the skin, with a real buttery texture which feels so good on the skin. As soon as it is applied and massaged onto the skin, the pink balm turns white which I find quite therapeutic to watch. As a plumping and brightening enzyme mask for all skin types, it uses some incredible ingredients which include:
  • Natural Fruit Acids (AHA’s), including passion fruit, lemon, grape and pineapple fruit acids exfoliate by gently unbinding cells in the top layer of the skin to activate renewal. Enzymes from papaya remove excess and tired skin, cleansing thoroughly and clearing congested pores.
  • Lactic Acid (AHA, chemical exfoliant), reduces the appearance of fine lines by increasing cell turnover while softening skin.
  • Ribose increases cell respiration and reloads the skin with new energy by stimulating ATP (cell energy) levels to revitalise and illuminate. The natural anti-histamine Butterbur soothes irritation and aids healing.
  • Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes leave the complexion balanced, even and bright by reducing melanin production by 47%.
  • Prebiotic Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide prevents bacteria colonisation and keeps skin healthy.
  • Glycerin, humectant which works to moisturize the skin by drawing water from the air into the skin's outer layer.
Not only is this a hydrating and nourishing mask it also works to resurface the skin and whenever I use this mask, my skin feels just incredible, not only to the touch, but when applying makeup, it goes on much smoother, I have a natural glow and literally it is just an amazing mask.  I have never had any adverse reactions, it doesn't sting or tingle whilst being used and nor does it irritate my skin at all.

This mask retails for £51 and it can be found right HERE at Cult Beauty.

MALIN + GOETZ Essential Kit

In little, over 6 weeks I will be on my merry way, excitedly to Disneyland Paris for the third time in as many years and in just a few weeks I am off back to my family home to spend a week my family, doing the yearly catch up. So now I am going through my stash deciding what I need to take with me and that means looking for those travel and sample sizes I have been hoarding and making sure I have everything I need.
MALIN + GOETZ Essential Kit
MALIN + GOETZ Essential Kit
Malin +Goetz was established in 2004 and they have one simple brief - Simple Skincare Solutions.
We make skincare easy, starting with sensitive skin. With this in mind, our treatments are made to be both gentle and effective, for all skin types, women and men or for how a modern couple will shop for and use products together. Every product is formulated with trusted natural ingredients and proven advanced technologies to perform without sacrificing luxury.
The brand, having now expanded to include products for the face, body and hair, to fragrance and candles. With that in mine, this Essentials Kit, which features six 29ml essential travel sized products which come packaged inside their own carry-on approved case making them perfect for on the go.

Inside there is:
  • Grapefruit face cleanser - now this cleanser smells just incredible. It is the kind of scent you want in candle form to travel throughout the home and leave you feeling just relaxed. It uses natural grapefruit extract which is known for its cleansing properties alongside amino acids, Glycerin and Sodium PCA to soothe, hydrate and moisturise.
  • Vitamin E face moisturiser - Designed for all skin types, this moisturiser works to hydrate and balance the skin. To do that it uses Vitamin E a known anti-oxidant to help soothe and calm, sodium hyaluronate + panthenol which hydrates and nourishes and of course calming Chamomile.
  • Bergamot body wash - Again this body wash has an amazing scent and if citrusy scents are your thing, then this is a must. Described as being expertly crafted to hydrate the skin without drying it out or causing any irritation with tacky residue. It is delightful when used in the bath or as a body wash and it doesn't strip the skin or leave bergamot scent on your skin.  When it comes to ingredients, you see the use of naturally derived amino acids and glycerin hydrate.
  • Vitamin b5 body moisturiser - This product is incredibly lightweight on the skin and leaves your skin feeling instantly hydrated.  Using fatty acids which deliver intense hydration, there is also provitamin b5 which nourishes and hydrates and grapeseed oil which helps to restore moisture.
  • Peppermint shampoo - A best seller from Malin + Goetz, this shampoo is designed to purify and balance all hair and scalp types. What I like about this shampoo, is that it doesn't irritate my scalp or leave my hair feeling drier than a haystack. Using amino acids which thoroughly cleanse without drying, Olive Oil to moisturise and Peppermint which adds the most amazing scent.
  • Cilantro conditioner - This is a gentle daily conditioner hydrates and ph balances all hair and scalp types. Using fatty acids deliver lightweight yet intense hydration, Shea Butter to moisturise and natural cilantro to calm and adds a refreshing scent.
This set is perfect for those few days away and it contains absolutely everything you need to take with you.  Found at SpaceNK (here) for just £24 there are also further products available in travel size form which are worth checking out and ive got my eye on a few of the candles which sound divine.

Revolution Makeup Lip Treatments

Looking after my lips is as important as looking after any other part of my body. The lips play an important role in life and if you think about what you use them for, making sure they look good and don't have dry bits of skin hanging off them. When Revolution Beauty (formerly Makeup Revolution) announced they had two lip treatments available, I bought them without even debating it.
Revolution Makeup Lip Treatments
The Revolution Pro Sugar Lip Scrub (£4) is designed to prep and polish the lips to leave them feeling silky smooth.  My lips go through stages of being dry right where I tend to get cold sores, so I do as much as I can to ensure my lips remain soft and moisturised as best I can.  The Revolution PRO Lip Scrub comes packaged in a twist-up pencil which makes it easy to use because you simply swipe it across the lips as you would do any other lip scrub.

Infused with coconut oil and sugar, the scrub is fairly abrasive and you do need to apply a fair amount of pressure for it to remove dead and dry skin but it does work. As I swipe the crayon across my lip, I then massage the sugar across the stubborn parts using my finger because the nib itself isn't all that sturdy and feels as though it might snap if I apply any pressure.  Then I wipe away any debris using a damp cotton wool pad. Afterwards, my lips feel smoother and softer.

The downside? Well, the list of ingredients doesn't tell a pretty story, namely the inclusion of Parrafin which as we all know is not good for the skin.

The second product is the Revolution Lip Conditioner (£3). Whenever I scrub my lips, I always add a lip balm and one which is as conditioning as possible. Whilst this one cost just £3 I used it a few times and then decided it was not for me. Why? Again, we are back at the ingredients list and up there as the first one is Petroleum. For a good few years now I've moved away from using Petroleum in products as it does nothing for my skin at all and it makes the dryness on my lips worse and it makes them tingle.

Revolution Makeup Lip Treatments
Revolution Beauty says this lip conditioner, which is a clear gel, glides over lips effortlessly, locking in moisture, leaving mouths silky-smooth and hydrated. It is also said that this lip conditioner can be worn as a lip balm alone, to prevent lips from cracking and underneath lipstick for comfort, or add over the top of any lip shade for a gloss finish. For me, it just doesn't work and I found it started to irritate my lips where I am prone to cold sores, so as soon as the tingling started, I stopped using it. So for me, I would much rather stick to my Verso lip serum or the ByBi Lip Kit. So for me, this is a sort of on the fence review. I like the Revolution Pro Sugar Lip Scrub and the fact it does remove dead and dry skin, but I'm not impressed with the fact it contains paraffin. I don't like the Lip Conditioner because it did absolutely nothing for my lips but instead irritated the skin where I am prone to cold sores, so I stopped using it immediately.

Have you tried anything new from Revolution Beauty recently that has
impressed you?
