Introducing The Home Pedicure Treatment by Margaret Dabbs London

When it comes to doing a home pedicure or looking after my feet, my expertise starts and ends with a foot mask, usually one which peels off all the dead skin 7 days after use and of course trimming my toes nails, other than that, my feet are pretty much left alone. That said, I have got my eye on one of the Human Touch massagers for a bit of added pampering and luxury, something we all need right now.
Introducing The Home Pedicure Treatment by Margaret Dabbs London
Margaret Dabbs London have created the Perfect Home Pedicure Set which contains everything you need to perform a professional treatment from the comfort of your own home and I was kindly sent one to try.

The Perfect Home Pedicure Set contains everything you need to use and it includes:
  • Professional foot file to remove hard skin and callus build up effectively, immediately and safely.
  • Curved Toenail Clipper that offers smooth and controlled cutting of even the most thickened and difficult toenails.
  • Crystal Nail File Standard Size, 19cm that has the finest and highest quality abrasive crystal finish to protect the nails.
  • White Block Buffer to smooth the surface of the nail and remove discolouration.
  • Exfoliating Foot Scrub, 200ml with ground Tea Tree Leaf and Pumice granules to remove dead, dry skin cells from all over the feet and between the toes.
  • Intensive Hydrating Foot Lotion, 200ml which visibly hydrates the skin, alleviates tired feet, repairs cracks, and reduces hard skin build up.
Admittedly, I had absolutely no idea how to give myself a professional pedicure, it is something I occasionally venture to a salon for when the need arises. Thankfully, the Perfect Home Pedicure kit contains a little how to guide which is really easy to follow and which tools to use for each job.

How to give yourself a pedicure

Professional Curved Toe Nail Clipper - Cut the nails straight across. Never cut the nail too short. If the nail is very long repeat the cut taking just a small amount off at a time. If the nail is very thick apply pressure over the top of the blade.

Crystal Nail File - File each nail straight across using the Crystal Nail File running the file back and forth in any direction. If nails are particularly thick, run the flat side of the Crystal Nail File across the nail.

White Block Buffer - Use the white block buffer gently across the nails if necessary to remove discolouration from the nail.

Super Shiner Buffer - Remove any light ridging of the nail with the coloured side of the buffer, moving it back and forth over the nail and then turn the buffer over and repeat with the white side. This will leave shiny, ridge free, groomed looking nails. The quicker the rotation the better the shine.

Professional Foot File - Use on dry skin on areas of thickened or calloused skin or cracks in the heels, filing towards the midline of the foot to remove hard skin. Leaves skin smooth and callus free. Use twice a week

Exfoliating Foot Scrub - Apply a small amount of Exfoliating Foot Scrub and rub it in all over the foot concentrating first on the heel and ball of the foot, and then taking it between the toes and to the top of the foot. Add more water to allow the exfoliator to move more freely. Use lukewarm water to remove the foot mousse.

Intensive Hydrating Foot Lotion - Apply all over the feet and very, very slowly massage it all over increasing the speed of the movement as you reach the ankle. Use it every day to reduce hard skin build up and keep the skin silky soft and illuminated.

Admittedly I won't be sharing any photographs of my feet before and after, but having followed these guidelines from Margaret Dabbs London, I can confirm that my feet are now super soft to the touch, there is no hard skin on my heels (which I do have a problem with from time to time) and my toe nails look less like claws and more acceptable when wearing my FitFlops.  The Intensive Hydrating Foot Lotion is absolute divine to use, it smells incredibly fresh and citrusy and even the Mister likes it!

This Home Pedicure kit is currently on sale via Maragaret Dabbs for £79 which is an absolute bargain because you get 50+ treatments out of these products and it is a lot cheaper than going out for a pedicure!

Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark-Spot Correcting Moisturiser

Caudalie is an incredible brand and a few months ago I featured some of my favourite products from the brand here on my blog.  Today I am sharing the Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark-Spot Correcting Moisturiser, which I have absolutely loved trying out and getting to know.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark-Spot Correcting Moisturiser
This cream is enriched in vine sap Viniferine and niacinamide and the job of the Vinoperfect Dark-Spot Correcting Moisturiser is to help prevent all types of dark spots which include sun, ageing, acne scars, pimentation marks as well as helping to even out the skin tone. It also features a whole host of other amazing ingredients which include:
  • Hyaluronic Acid - helps with moisturising
  • Olive Squalane - a non-oily substance to help with moisturising
  • White Peony - Helps to boost radiance, illuminates and evens the complexion
On the skin, this cream has the most wonderful velvety gel-like texture which melts onto the skin as soon as it comes into contact and once there, not only does it hydrate, it also leaves no greasy film, which is a plus.

Hosting a fresh but really subtle plant-based fragrance, it uses the green notes of
bergamot, mandarin, lemon tree leaf, cucumber and fresh mint. I put mine in the fridge for half an hour before using and on really hot days, it is an absolute treat to use.

Again, a reminder of the benefits of this cream:
  • Corrects and prevents the appearance of dark spots
  • Evens skin tone
  • Instantly brightens the complexion
  • Hydrates
Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Spot Correcting Moisturiser is gentle enough to be used every day. As with all Caudalie products, its formula is free from parabens, phthalates and mineral oils, and it is vegan friendly.  Priced at £34 you can find it here* from SpaceNK and here* from Caudalie.

Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio

Who doesn't come running when Pat McGrath announces a sale with up to 50% off? I was straight to the sale, which is still live by the way, to purchase a few items for a friends upcoming birthday and of course a treat for myself!

I opted to try the Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio which usually retails for £20 and is now reduced to just £10.

The lip balms are tiny and a little bit cute and each one contains 1.2g of product. The three shades within this trio are:
  • Clear: a clear subtle sheen
  • Blow Up: a warm light beige
  • Flesh: a bronzed rose
They are packaged inside white plastic tubes which feature the iconic Pat McGrath Lips logo in a shade of gold, giving them that luxe feel and it is really impressive.Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio
I really like all three shades, with Clear being every much as its name suggests, it works well as a primer for your lipsticks or on its own, I have used it for both options and I love that it isn't sticky or tacky. Blow Up as a nude is a great shade, I usually stay well away from nude shades through fear of getting foundation lips, but this has a really nice hint of colour to it. The final shade, Fetish is my favourite of the three and I might have accidentally bought the full sized option, oops.

This has been my first venture into the world of Pat McGrath, when usually I am watching from the sidelines, I am now hooked!
