AD Inspired by Korea’s beauty heritage

Korean skincare is no longer just a hype, it's a genuine and well-established part of the global beauty industry. Yet we sometimes forget that these popular products and routines have their roots in a centuries-old tradition. Indeed, many contemporary formulas draw inspiration from Korea's beauty heritage, whether in terms of ingredients used or an underlying philosophy.

Beauty in the Joseon era

During the Joseon dynasty (1392–1897), beauty was associated with tranquillity, simplicity, and a healthy glow. Make-up was minimal, the focus was on care and radiance. Rice water was used to brighten the skin, ginseng to promote vitality, and camellia oil to keep the skin soft and supple.

Today, more and more brands are returning to this timeless approach. Brands such as Beauty of Joseon combine traditional ingredients with modern science to pay homage to the heritage of Korean beauty.

Balance is the most important thing

Western skincare is often about getting fast results. Korean skincare is about balance, softness and consistency. The key to good skin care is understanding your skin's needs and catering to them accordingly.
