I have been using Foreo products for almost 10 years now and the latest addition to my collection is the Foreo Bear and I am obsessed with it.
If you haven't come across Foreo before, Foreo is a multi-award winning Sweden based product and their aim is to empower you and brighten your life. Every product they release has a bold or bright colour and they rely on the feedback of people like you and I to constantly improve their designs. So, whether you have dry skin, oily skin, combination skin or none of the above, there is a device for you.
The Foreo Bear is a microcurrent toning facial device and it uses low-level electrical currents which work to stimulate the muscles in your face, which in turn helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, as well as working to:
- Lift and firm the face
- Improve skin tone and texture
- Promote collagen production
- Stimulate blood circulation
- Reduce stress and tension
Now, I have a really busy day job, so finding time to do something time consuming is not appealing because I just want to unwind and relax, so a device that takes little of my time is always going to get my attention and as the Foreo Bear is designed to be used for two minutes per day, I am in!
The Bear is a small, handheld device that comes in Fuschia Pink or Mint colours. Before you use any device that uses any microcurrent, never use without a conductive serum, gel or cream. The Foreo Bear uses a combination of advanced microcurrent and T-Sonic pulsations that really exercise the 65+ muscles in your face and neck and there is a free app to download which guides you through each of the 5 toning facial treatments.
The Bear, which sits neatly in your head has two cool metal spheres which sit on the top, their job is to deliver microcurrent to the skin, which it is said mimics the body's natural current and results in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) cell growth and accelerated collagen production, at the same time the T-Sonic pulsations gently massage the face to increase circulation, eliminate toxins and ease facial tension, resulting in smoother, softer and much more glowy looking skin.
The Bear does have five intensity levels and I was advised to start with the first level and just like using beauty products, slowly work your way up through each level, becoming for acquainted with it more you use it. Thankfully, there is an Anti-Shock System that the Foreo Bear uses, so there is no need to worry about the current being too strong for your skin and as advanced sensors measure your skin's resistance to the electricity, it automatically adjusts the intensity accordingly - clever right!
To use, ensure the Foreo Bear is charged (it comes with a USB Cable) and that your face is freshly cleansed and then, as advised apply a conductive serum to your face - I use the Foreo Serum Serum Serum which is described as being a micro-capsule-infused, antioxidant-rich formula jam-packed with squalane and hyaluronic acid that ensures maximum product absorption and penetratiom, making it the perfect partner for this device. Once your Serum is applied, you simply place the device on your skin, and select the desired intensity level. It is also worth noting that the Foreo Bear can only be used once every 24 hours morning or night, depending on your preference, having tried both, I am an evening user because I find it fits into my routine much better, but it also works just as well in a morning too.
Just after a few weeks of using the Bear, my skin does look noticeably firmer, especially around my cheeks and I live in hope for better definition, the advice from Foreo is to use the device every day for two months to see full results and after that, if you choose, you can gradually scale the use back to three times per week. I absolutely love using it and will continue to use it as part of my routine.
