The Flannels Advent Calendar is back for a second year with another spectacular Advent Calendar and if you have ever been to a Flannels store, then you will know just what a delight it is.

For anyone who did see the 2021 Flannels Advent Calendar, you might notice that it is very similar in style and with the products that have been included, but thankfully there have been a few changes.

Lily Blanche Key Locket

With Christmas on the way, now is the time to start making those lists of who you have to buy a gift for and any ideas you might have.  I absolutely love products and gifts that can be personalised, be it with a key date, an important quote, a name or even a photograph and this is where Lily Blanche and the Key Locket come in.

I chose the filigree photo locket which is not only heart-shaped, but it also features a key charm, which for me, is the detail to catch my attention and choose it. 

As this is a locket, it opens up to reveal two heart shapes and inside each heart, and for this you can either upload those photos and edit them in the personalisation app on the locket page or you can email them separately to Lily Blanche after you've put the order through for them to be added. If you decide to use the personalisation tool, you can edit them and see how they look in the locket and if you choose to email them, the team will edit your photos and send you the edit to approve and at this stage, you can make any changes at that stage.

The filigree locket is available Gold, Rose Gold or White Gold. I opted for the 18 carat white gold vermeil, which sits on a sterling silver, 18 carat gold or rose gold chain (which you can choose the length of) and then, you can choose the key charm if you want to add it, this is an optional extra. I chose the 18 carat gold key to complete the piece.

Once you have decided on your personalised locket, the chain and then the charm, your final and perhaps most important decision is how to personalise it. As I had decided to personalise this Locket for myself, choosing the two photographs to go inside was quite difficult to narrow down and eventually, being unable to choose between my cats, I settled on a photograph of myself aged 2 with my Grandfather and then one from my wedding day - fun fact, we got married on Christmas Day!

Once you have finished with your personalisation, your Locket arrives in a beautifully presented black ribbon-tied gift box and it is also accompanied by a special cleaning pouch for storage and a branded polish cloth to ensure your locket sparkling and clean, which I think is a really lovely extra to have and not necessarily something you ever think about ordering when purchasing a piece of jewellery.

Priced at £150, the Lily Blanche Key Locket is absolutely stunning and I love how it sits on the chest without being too big or too heavy and because I chose the white gold option, it can be worn with any outfit - dressed up or lounging round the house and even for work. 

I really enjoyed the process of creating my own Locket, it was a stress-free, hassle-free experience and if a Locket isn't the piece of jewellery you like, then you can also find the same idea but as a bracelet.

Made by Coopers is a brand with an incredible story to tell. An idea that came about whilst travelling around India on a three-month yoga expedition, which was a personal healing journey for Clare. During their travels, Clare and Darren spent time at an Ayurvedic retreat in Kerala, learning all about the power of plants and natural healing, as well as lots of yoga, meditation, and early five a.m. chanting ceremonies! The first item is the Vanilla Rose Bath Blend (£22.50) and anyone who knows me, will know that I love bath salts and this particular blend is quite something.

Described as being a nourishing bath salt blend, it is made with the essential oils of Vanilla and Ylang Ylang which help to rejuvenate the skin and help you relax and unwind and coconut oil for its moisturising and nourishing properties. Alongside those oils you will find the salts:

• Dead Sea Salt - Contains 21 minerals that soften and soothe dry skin.
• Epsom Salt - Helps relieve tired and aching muscles.
• Himalayan Salt - Contains 84 minerals that soothe and repair damaged skin and promote renewal.

Then to really make this Bath Blend really special, you will find rose buds and petals which float on the water and ultimately it is the feeling of floating within the water amongst the salt really is so incredibly relaxing.

The second item comes in the form of a candle and it is called Sleepy Head (£24) and it is the can be used in your evening routine when preparing for bed or on a wet and windy afternoon when you want to sit back, relax, grab a blanket and watch a film.

Christmas Gift Guide with Evolve Organic Beauty

If an environmentally friendly Christmas with an offering of exceptional beauty products is the one to tick all the boxes for you, then Evolve Organic Beauty is definitely ticking those boxes.

A brand I have championed for as long as I can remember, Evolve has some of the most beautiful face masks I have ever used and as a brand they have such an incredible product range that I am delighted to be able to share just a few of them within this gift guide.

I am a sucker for beauty baubles and Golden Glow (£15) is the ideal stocking filler to give that Golden Glow and, if you love a face mask with a bit of sparkle, here it is.

Nestled inside the bauble is Bio-Retinol Gold Mask and the name suggests, this mask uses Bio-Retinol, which is a natural retinol-like plant extract from Bidens Pilosa which works to smooth the skin, plump up wrinkles, stimulate collagen synthesis and rejuvenate the skin, as well reducing the appearance of wrinkles and the production of free-radicals. This mask also contains both organic Argan Oil and Rosehip Oil which work together to really nourish and moisturise your skin, so it glows just as much as the sustainably sourced mineral Mica that has been used for the golden shimmers!

The second gift set is The Smooth & Soothe Duo (£20) and here you have two products to really give your face that lovely pampering TLC.

The first of the two products inside this gift set is the Rose Quartz Facial Polish (30ml) and it is described as being packed full of natural ingredients to help buff away dead skin cells, unclog pores and improve the appearance of scarring. 

This exfoliator is so gentle on the face, so if you have sensitive skin or even if your skin is being sensitive, then this is a great exfoliator to use. It contains both Organic Rosehip Oil which helps to fight the signs of ageing by promoting cellular renewal, and Organic Hibiscus Extract which helps to break down those dry and dead skin cells to prevent future breakouts.  Of course the star ingredient is the Quartz Crystal Particles which, - as well as helping to buff away dead skin cells and unclog pores, the benefits of Quartz particles, if you use crystals is also quite incredible because they are said to encourage people to open up their hearts and experience feelings of peace, trust and harmony as part of their journey towards self love.

I already absolutely love this facial polish and will be ordering a full size once I have run out.

The second product within this duo is the Daily Renew Facial Cream (30ml) and this cream, which I have used before, is described as being an organic facial cream that restores normal to dry skin with a blend of pure organic oils.

On the skin, this cream is lovely and luxurious without being overly thick. To use, you only need a walnut-sized amount to cover your entire face. Using Hyaluronic Acid helps to reduce wrinkles, making the skin look younger with an improved skin tone as well as offering intense hydration to skin cells. Argan Oil which nourishes and it helps to improve elasticity and leaves skin feeling plump and soft and because there is a light fragrance it comes from the inclusion of soothing hypoallergenic vanilla and coconut, it is an absolute delight to use.

The final gift set that I have to share is The Aromatic Body Duo (£32) and inside you will find the African Orange Aromatic Hand & Body Wash and the African Orange Aromatic Hand & Body Lotion.

This is a gift set that is suitable for absolutely everyone, especially if skincare is not their primary concern! 

Starting with the African Orange Aromatic Hand & Body Wash which is described as being a refreshing hand and body wash to soothe and moisturise the skin. It uses both natural Coconut and Sugar Extracts to gently cleanse and maintain the skin's natural pH balance, Organic Aloe Vera which nourishes the skin and calms irritation. But that isnt all, it is also delicately fragranced with three key essential oils:

• Blood Orange Essential Oil which is used to promote the production of collagen as well as increase the blood flow to the skin. The aroma of Blood Oranges is also known to settle the nerves, relax the spirit, be uplifting and evoke cheer.
• Cedarwood Essential Oil with its earthy aroma that is soothing and grounding, so for those with anxiety and nervous tension, it is a great oil. On the skin, it is an astringent so it is great for relieving itching, soothing acne and breakouts plus it can be used on the hair and scalp too.
• Black Pepper Essential Oil, which is warm and spicy, has been known to help circulation especially in the skin and it can also be used to relieve sore muscles and joints. It also has good antibacterial properties and is a strong anti-oxidant and its aroma helps to create a more positive feeling.

It is absolutely delightful whether you choose to use it just for your hands or as a body wash too.

Then with the African Orange Aromatic Hand & Body Lotion, this product is designed to hydrate and moisturise the hands and body.  Again with its lightweight texture, it absorbs into the skin in no time at all and as it uses both the Cedarwood Oil and Blood Orange Essential oils, their scent is absolutely delightful.  The one change of ingredient with the lotion is the inclusion of Shea Butter over Black Pepper.

Shea Butter is an ingredient found in many moisturising and hydrating products and is often referred to as being a skin superfood and it is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F. On the skin, it provides the essential fatty acids and nutrients which are necessary for collagen production.
