Colcannon is an easy and delicious dish. It is mashed potatoes with vegetables like cabbage and spring onions. A bit of butter is added to make it even more delicious. There are some other variations of this dish, such as the champ. Besides the creativity and the freedom that is involved in cooking, this potato-based food is connected to the complex role that potato has played in Irish history. 

2. Fish 

Ireland is an island, and you can be one hundred percent sure that all the dishes that have fish are more than delicious, as cooks use fresh fish and seafood. Thus, during your time there you should definitely try smoked salmon and shellfish. 

Scotland 

1. Neeps and tatties

Translation for this dish is needed. Turnips that have been mashed are called “neeps”. “Tatties” are mashed potatoes. Then, you put all that in the same plate and magic is served. 

2. Scotch Pies

For pie lovers, this might be the ultimate dish. Scotch pie has a double-crusted base and it is filled with minced meat from lamb, sheep or some other animal. The meat chunks are mixedwith vegetables and sauce. 

England

1. Fish and Chips

Probably the most characteristic -and iconic- British food is fish and chips. Chips are what our American friends call “French fries”. As for fish, the safest option is cod. 

2. Bangers and mash

Another beloved and popular British food is bangers and mash. As you can guess, “mash” is short for mashed potatoes. Bangers are sausages. Gravy sauce and green beans usually complement this dish.

Dr Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Deep Cream

If there is one Dr Dennis Gross product I rave about it is the Alpha Beta Peel Pads, which I always have in my stash for those times when my skin needs a bit of a something extra to get it out of its slump.  The latest product from the Dr Dennis Gross skincare collection that I have been using is the Dr Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Deep Cream.

As with any product from Dr Dennis Gross that I’ve tried, It has never left me feeling disappointed in any way, so I was keen to give this cream a try because after having Covid, my skin was not happy.

Promising a plumped, energised and bright complexion, Dr Dennis Gross C + Collagen Deep Cream combines state-of-the-art science with nourishing natural extracts. Starring a unique, proprietary energy complex to restore and recharge cells and a potent, stabilised form of vitamin C to reduce the formation of dark spots and fine lines this clever cream works to brighten and energise lacklustre skin.

So that entire description calls my name, my skin was just lacklustre and in need one something to tackle the dryness, the need of deep moisture and some nourishment to boot.

This cream is described as being one which combines the brand's proprietary 3-O C Vitamin C Technology with Collagen, Amino Acids and an Energy Complex to help enhance radiance and diminish the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles. Infused with a concentration of nourishing oils extracted from Camellia Japonica Seed, Sunflower Seed, and Rice Bran to provide skin with moisture and help reduce water loss.

On the skin, this cream is just delightful, very much the case of a little goes a long way and as soon as contact with the skin is made, it sinks in rapidly.  It can be used both morning and evening should that be your preference and what this cream does is really leave your skin feeling moisturised.

I have mentioned a few times that having had Covid, not only has my sense of taste and smell completely changed, in so much as I cannot stand the smell of taste of coffee anymore, yet they were once my favourite things, my skin also changed.  I do still have combination-oily skin but it is now much more dry than it has ever been. especially around my nose and across my forehead, so as much as I am exfoliating twice a week, using oils and serums, I have found that I need a cream/creams that will moisturise and leave my skin feeling less like a lizard shedding its skin and more like I have just had a very expensive signature facial.

After using this cream, I had comments from friends that my skin was glowing and whilst that dryness is still there around my nose, no longer does my forehead feel like the Sahara Desert.  

The Dr Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Deep Cream is priced around £77 for 50g which is expensive, but if you have lacklustre skin that is in need of a boost, some TLC and nourishment, then for me, it ticked all of those boxes and I am sad it ran out!
