Scotland 

1. Neeps and tatties

Translation for this dish is needed. Turnips that have been mashed are called “neeps”. “Tatties” are mashed potatoes. Then, you put all that in the same plate and magic is served. 

2. Scotch Pies

For pie lovers, this might be the ultimate dish. Scotch pie has a double-crusted base and it is filled with minced meat from lamb, sheep or some other animal. The meat chunks are mixedwith vegetables and sauce. 

England

1. Fish and Chips

Probably the most characteristic -and iconic- British food is fish and chips. Chips are what our American friends call “French fries”. As for fish, the safest option is cod. 

2. Bangers and mash

Another beloved and popular British food is bangers and mash. As you can guess, “mash” is short for mashed potatoes. Bangers are sausages. Gravy sauce and green beans usually complement this dish.
