Summer Rendezvous with Glossybox

With its inspiration being taken from the French Riviera, the June Edition of Glossybox with five beauty treats to prep you for summer days, you could even say the box has French themed products!

Whilst we are all longing for longer sunnier days, that summer heat, that as Brits we love to hate, most of us are currently enjoying the extended Bank Holiday to celebrate the Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen. The Glossybabes over at Glossy HQ want you to experiment with lustrous makeup and skincare goodies and within this box, which is worth over £80, you have just that! 

The first item out of the box is from my favourites L’Occitane and it is the Shea Butter Hand Cream.

My all time favourite hand cream, it is enriched with 20% fair-trade shea butter as well as honey, almond and coconut oil. Added to that, there is also the inclusion and infusion of both jasmine and ylang-ylang essential oils. A beautifully light scented cream that leaves my hands feeling soft and moisturised.

The second product is from Ciate with their Bamboo Bronzer and I’m so glad to see a bronzer rather than a blusher in this box.

Described as being a virtually weightless face powder that creates a natural looking bronzed hue with soft matte finish. This bronzer is infused with nourishing botanicals such as Bamboo extract which helps to combat shine and regulate oil production. This is a bronzer which, despite its intense colour pigments gives you the opportunity to build it up to create your own custom coverage. 

From Dr Eve R_Youth the third product, we have the Vitamin C Night Moisturiser.

Designed to brighten, plump, moisturise and revitalise your skin as you sleep, this product contains one of the best forms of vitamin C - L-ascorbic acid and working alongside ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid, Argan oil and Rose Oil it aims to brighten uneven skin tone and re-plump tired, dehydrated looking skin.

The next product is from Greenfrog Botanic and within the box we have a lemongrass soap.

Made with 90% natural ingredients, this soap is gentle yet refreshing and it leaves your skin feeling super clean, soft and moisturiser.

The final product within this box comes from Starskin VIP with a pair of The Gold Eye Mask.

These masks, which are crafted from gold foil-topped cellulose fabric, the innovative mask traps heat to lock in the concentrated serum, aiding absorption for effective results. Last week I was lucky enough to be invited for a sneak preview of the Tatcha range that has arrived here in the U.K. and is on sale at Space NK.

Platinum Jubilee Beauty Kings and Queens TOYL Box

Every month I rave about these boxes because they are simply brilliant and you can see why I love them right here. For me, a beauty box is about discovering brands that you might not ordinarily try or come across. TOYL is exactly that kind of box and there is always a brand to discover.

This months box features six products from some of the biggest names and here they are.

Starting with Dr Murad and the Intense Recovery Cream (£69). For anyone who reads my blog, you will know that I am a huge fan of the brand and this cream is incredible.

Designed to be comforting for the skin, this Intensive Recovery Cream is ideal for the face and around the eyes to help reduce the visible signs of stress-induced ageing and redness. Using Microalgae Extract, which targets the appearance of fine lines, helping to smooth the look of these signs of stress and tension. It also encourages your skin to naturally recover from dryness while working to relieve redness for a seemingly healthier finish. Added Shea Butter and Macadamia Oil act as an intensive moisturiser, locking in hydration for a soothed surface while Mirabilis Jalapa Plant Extract has a calming effect for a sensation of long-lasting comfort. This cream can be used both morning and evening.

Up next from Kate Somerville is a product I’ve been wanting to get my hands on and that is the Daily Deflector Mineral Sunscreen (£46).

Expertly formulated restoring ingredients hydrate & strengthen skin, this 100% mineral sunscreen absorbs and deflects UV rays that we all know contribute to 80% of premature ageing and it also helps protect from blue light too. the formula is blended with non-nano Zinc Oxide to create a physical shield against UVA and UVB. Added Vitamin E and Ectoin ward off pollution-induced damage, minimising the risk of scaliness and rough textures, while Tasmannia Lanceolata Leaf Extract has a soothing effect to promote comfort and reduce the appearance of redness. Lastly, a hydrating Ceramide Complex works with your skin’s natural moisture barrier to lock in water for a healthier-looking sheen.

The third product comes from Origins with their Plantscription Multi-Powered Youth Serum.

Said to be the brand’s most comprehensive product of its kind, it has been designed for face, neck and eyes and imparts 15 youth-boosting benefits, and features 6 peptides which help to soften the look of expression lines and support the skin’s natural collagen. Featuring ingredients such as Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid which help to hydrate and fight visible signs of ageing. 

Up next we have Mavala and whilst they are possibly best know for their nail polishes, which is the next product in this box, they also have an amazing skincare range too.

This nail polish, named Cyber Silver is the perfect shade to celebrate the Jubilee weekend with its platinum look! Mavala’s unique polish delivers what is referred to as being microscopic air pockets which help allow your nails to breath underneath and this polish is also free from parabens and formaldehydes. On the nails, it glides on effortlessly thanks to the great brush and I have always found no more than two coats is necessary with this brand. 

From Bumble & Bumble is the Thickening Plumping Hair Mask.

I absolutely love using a hair mask and try to ensure I use one at least once a week. From Bumble & Bumble, this lightweight mask uses Emblica Technology which plumps the hairs strands from roots to ends to give that thicker, fuller more volumized look. Then there is hydrolysed rice Protein which helps add volume and bounce, before Kukui Seed Oil and Coconut Oil come into their own to help condition and smooth. After use, your hair is instantly detangled and if you have scalp issues, this mask is also said to help soothe.

Then finally we have Seeds of Colour, a brand which is described as being a vegan beauty range of products which are science-backed natural makeup that reinvent modern beauty.
