Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser Cream

After having Covid, my skin really was not happy and in many respects still isn't. I have always had combination/oily skin and have learnt to accept that whilst I am never going to be shine free and have insta-perfect skin, there is products I can use to keep the shine down to a minimal along with blemishes and everything else. That said, my skin has become quite dry, so I changed my routine slightly to accommodate products that are said to help with dryness and one of those is the Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser Cream.
Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser Cream
If you read my blog regularly enough, you will know that I am a bit of a fan of cleansing. SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is described as being a delicate cream cleanser that works on sensitive, dry and normal skin types. It is also a product which can be used several times throughout the day without irritating the skin and it works to soothe any sensitive or traumatised skin. So it definitely ticked the boxes that I needed.

On the skin, this cleanser, which helpfully comes in a pump action bottle, is really creamy and isn't designed to foam, but when it comes into contact with water, the creaminess does become more of a milky texture. It is a very delicate cream cleanser that doesn't dry out or strip the strip the skin but it does an impressive job at removing excess oil which sits on the surface of the skin, as well as remove your makeup, though I can't comment on eye makeup, as I always use eye makeup remover.

This product also removes any excess oil, which, if like me you have that combination oily skin, it is very much needed. After using, what I loved was how soft my skin felt to the touch without feeling dry and for me, when using a cleanser, I want a product which not only cleanses my skin, but also one which doesn't leave it feeling stripped or taut.

This cleanser does have a really nice scent to it, this comes from the inclusion of Orange Peel Oil and its job is to act as an antibacterial ingredient for the skin and then we also have Glycerin which is great for hydration as well as nourishment and skin soothing.

Overall, I have absolutely loved using this cleanser, I love how it leaves my skin feeling after using it and priced at £38 for me, it is worth every single penny.  This is the first product iI'e used with Skinceuticals and it has made me want to try absolutely everything else the range has to offer!

TOYL March Edit - The Caring Box

This month, the TOYL Beauty Box is called The Caring Box and it is quite an incredible box this month for a number of reasons.  Not only is it packed with some incredible brands and their products to give you an excuse (not that we need one) to indulge in some amazing self-care but because by purchasing this box, you will also be supporting Safe Lives. Safe Lives is a charity which is dedicated to eradicating domestic abuse for men, women and children and it is well worth having a read into what this charity does, why and how it does.
TOYL March Edit - The Caring Box
TOYL is a monthly subscription box and it costs just £35 a month, but, unlike other subscription boxes I’ve tried, you always have the option to pause your subscription and pick it up again when you are ready. So if there is a box you don't feel is right for you, you can hold that subscription and continue when you spot something you love, which in my case has been every month so far!  Once you see the contents of this box, I am pretty sure that you will not be pausing your subscription and if you haven't yet subscribed, then I am sure you will.

The first product out of this box comes from Elemis and is quite possibly a product that needs not introduction, but it will get one.  The Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (full size) is the brands best-selling product.
TOYL March Edit - The Caring Box
As a cleansing balm, it is not only designed to dissolve makeup, dirt and oil from your skin, but, because it is enriched with a nourishing blend of ingredients they work to deeply cleanse the skin leaving it feeling smooth, hydrated and glowing. The key ingredients within this balm are:
  • Padina Pavonica promotes skin elasticity and cell vitality.
  • Mimosa Flower Wax hydrates and retains moisture in the skin.
  • Starflower Oil maintains moisture levels.
  • Almond, Coconut, & Shea Oils nourish and condition.
  • Elderberry Seed Oil firms and plumps.
  • Wheatgerm contains vitamins E and F, enriches and nourishes the skin.
  • Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant that protects against free radical damage
Featuring a soothing blend of Lavender and Chamomile, this is a real treat for the skin. As an extra treat, aside from using this product as just a cleansing balm, the advice is to use a teaspoon-sized amount and apply it to the face, neck and décolleté massaging gently with fingertips. Relax for around 10 minutes, then hold a warm, damp cleansing cloth over the skin, practise abdominal breathing and inhale the sensorial aroma, it is absolute bliss.

The second product comes from a brand I know very little about but have seen on my social media feed and it is the Strivectin TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream +.
TOYL March Edit - The Caring Box
Designed to visibly tighten, lift and  firm while smoothing horizontal neck lines, it also works to target what is referred too as a crepey texture and correct the look of uneven skin tone on the décolleté.  Within this cream, which has a fairly thick texture, you will find three main ingredients:
  • Gravitite-CF Lifting Complex - Improves elasticity and provides visible lift
  • NIA-114 technology - Strengthens the skins barrier and supercharges the performance of other ingredients
  • Botanical Brightening Complex - Helps even skin tones and improves the look of discolouration.
Designed to be used both morning and evening, you need just a thin layer of the cream which you massage into the skin with an upward motion.

The third product in this box really intrigued me. From Skyn Iceland comes the Dissolving Microneedle Eye Patches.
TOYL March Edit - The Caring Box
Described as being a wake up call for the eyes, as described the dissolving microneedles are slightly prickly but not ouchy and they dissolve into the skin to help tighten and tone crepey areas while smoothing the appearance of wrinkles. Again, packaged with amazing ingredients, including:
  • Hyaluronic Acid - two varsities which work to give the skin optimal skin absorption, this hydrating powerhouse—known for its unmatched moisture-binding capabilities—helps to counteract the drying effects of environmental stressors.
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 This age-fighting peptide has a relaxing effect on the look of fine lines around the eyes that can help delay the onset of deep creases.
  • Undaria Pinnatifida Extract and Corallina Officinalis Extract Revitalizing natural extracts with plumping capabilities to help smooth crow’s feet and restore suppleness, while improving elasticity and tone.
  • Heptapeptide-7 A skin-firming peptide VIP that helps combat the signs of crepey skin.
  • Icelandic Complex a proprietary natural blend that replenishes the nutrients that stress depletes. Sourced from Iceland’s pure and potent environment, it contains pollution-free Icelandic Glacial Water with 6 essential minerals to hydrate and detoxify skin, as well as Pure Molecular Oxygen which delivers energy into the skin’s layers to bring back a youthful glow.
It is advised that there patched should be worn for at least 2 hours, or if you can, overnight for maximum absorption. There might be a Slight redness after using but it does disappear quickly.

Then finally there is not one, but two tubes of the Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask, of which I have a full review in a previous post.
TOYL March Edit - The Caring Box
Having featured this Mask on my blog, it is rich and a deeply hydrating face mask that works to  improve skin's moisture, radiance and firmness.  Formulated with a blend of incredible ingredients such as:
  • Red Algae. Reduces the appearance of pigmentation and has a calming effect on the skin.
  • Trademarked Plant Stem Cell product Resisteem™ said to visibly improve the evenness of the complexion.
  • Hyaluronic Acid which we know firms and moisturises.
  • Hyaluronic Filling Spheres to plump the skin and reduce signs of lines and wrinkles.
  • Amino Acid derivative to brighten the skin and even out even the most stressed skin.
  • Edelweiss Extract to promote a soothing effect including collagen protection and antioxidants.
This mask itself is so luxuriously creamy and without being too thick, it applies like an absolute dream and if you are a fan of Emma Hardie products, then the first thing you notice is the all too familiar citrus scent from the Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, a scent which is just divine.

Now for me, this is one incredible one! A full sized Elemis Cleanser, The Emma Hardie Mask which I adore and two products I have never used but cannot wait to try with regards to the eye patches and then the next cream, something I don't have in my stash, well until now!

Each month the box, which costs £35, will feature both full-sized and luxury travel sized items, if ever there is a sachet, that is not counted towards to total cost of the products inside, it is just an extra treat. This box is worth £117.00 and is on offer for just £35 inc FREE P&P but if you use the code BQUK, you will get £5 off your first box!

Space NK The Essential Gift For Her Volume II Box

With Mother’s Day rapidly approaching there is a whole host of gifts and ideas out there and the latest to be added to that list comes from Space NK with The Essential Gift For Her Volume II Edit, which has launched.
Space NK The Essential Gift For Her Volume II Box
As the name suggested, this is the second version of this particular beauty box and in recent months with the likes of the Candle Collection Box and the Retinol Box both selling out within hours, I suspect it will be the same for this box too.

The Space NK The Essential Gift For Her Volume II Beauty Box is on sale now and it is priced at just £60 / $78 though the products within the box are said to worth £139, so this is an amazing bargain to be had.
“Designed for those who never stop, this carefully curated collection gives you four excuses to press pause. Find your quiet place with Jo Loves’ feelgood scented candle, By Terry’s nourishing hand cream and very own Space NK restorative body wash.“
So, what’s inside the Space NK The Essential Gift For Her Volume II, see the contents listed below.

Contents

  • Jo Loves Pomelo Scented Candle (185g)
  • By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream (75g)
  • Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Reed Diffuser (100ml)
  • Space NK Rewild Body Wash (350ml)
It is fair to say that each and every one of the Space NK beauty boxes have been amazing and incredible value for money, but this box for me offers that something a little bit special, it isn't filled with beauty products someone might not use, but instead has gifts for the home and fragrances included too.
