TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box

The November edition of the TOYL Beauty Box has arrived and this month it is aptly titled 'It's Makeover Time'. Over the paste few months, we have seen serums, products for the legs and feet and this month, Karen, who founded Time Of Your Life (TOYL) has spent the past few months trailing the best make-up for midlife women and these are the products she chose.
TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box
The box is worth £101.94 and it is on sale for just £35, but again, if you use the code BQUK it can be yours for just £30 and inside is everything you need to give you those fluttery lashes, bold lip, blurred lines and glowing skin!

The first product out of the box is from Lord & Berry with their Vogue Matt Lipstick in the shade Fuscia. These lipsticks are said to offer full-on colour with moisture which comes from the inclusion of orchid and papaya extracts.
TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box
As a shade, it is very much the fuscia pink, not as bright as I was expecting it to be, in fact it is really wearable and until I came across it in this box and tried it, it would have been a shade I would have looked at twice. If wearing a red is out of your comfort zone, then a shade such as this pink might very well be the one you can wear.

The second product within this box is the Bellapierre Ultra Glow Highlighting and Bronzing Palette and it is described as being the ultimate cheek palette.
TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box
On the palette there is four universal shades; three of which are best described as being shimmery highlighters and one which is a velvety matte contour shade. Finely milled pigments make all of these shades easy to blend and build up and the four shades from left to right - Beam, Spectacular, Aura and Straight can be mixed for the perfect glow, day or night and I have used the shade Straight as an eyeshadow shade and it is really beautiful to work with.

Next from Code Beautiful we have their Volume Lengthening Mascara (VLM). I was first introduced to this brand back in 2017 and their lip-liner is still one of the best I have used.
TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box
This mascara is described as being volumising, lengthening, thickening, curling, no-clumping, no-smudging, vegan mascara and to top it all off, it is also water-resistant. Enriched with vitamins and waxes to encourage lash growth, the full bristle brush with different length bristles designed to grab every lash for guaranteed definition, thickness, volume and lift.

The final product in this box is from Lord & Berry but this time it is the Skin Control Mattifying Blurring Primer.
TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box
Described as being a universal weightless real-life mattifying and blurring primer, it works to minimise excess shine with a soft focus finish, it also blurs the appearance of pores and fine lines and gives a velvet finish on the skin. Skin Control is shine-free, matte, smooth, and primed for makeup application.  What I like about this primer is that it works just as well with foundation as it does with my tinted moisturiser.

The final product within this box is a treat and it comes from Vita Liberata with their Heavenly Elixir in the shade medium.
TOYL It's Makeover Time November Beauty Box
Whilst I don't use fake tan products, this Heavenly Elixir is described as having a luscious cocoa scent and it is a product that is hydrating, so it helps to lock moisture into the skin whilst at the same time, working to deliver a most naturally flawless bronze shade to the body, which is then said to continue to develop over the next few days and it doesn't begin to fade for 10 days.

I really like the theme of this box, I love the Lord & Berry Blurring Primer and I am always happy to see a mascara in any box I am lucky enough to review. The contents are worth £101.94 and could be yours for just £30*. If you didn't know, TOYL is a monthly subscription box and it usually costs just £35 a month (£30 using my code below) but, unlike other subscription boxes I’ve tried, you always have the option to pause your subscription and pick it up again when you are ready. So if there is a box you don't feel is right for you, you can hold that subscription and continue when you spot something you love, which in my case has been every month so far!

Find out more about the Time Of your Life and what is on offer right here and remember to use the code BQUK to grab yourself £5 off!

Glossybox Skincare Limited Edition Beauty Box

I was first introduced to Glossybox Skincare when it launched back in August 2020 and a lot of thought and care went into creating this part of the brand. Glossybox are known for their monthly beauty box subscription service and of course their one off Limited Edition boxes, plus fabulous Advent Calendars.
Glossybox Skincare Limited Edition Beauty Box
The Glossybox Skincare Limited Edition Beauty Box, which is perfectly timed for Black Friday, is going to feature five of the most popular Glossybox Skincare products and it will be worth over £75.

As a trusted beauty box subscription service for many years, the team behind the brand spent around a year collecting feedback from customers who have told them what products they really want to use on their skin. The main feedback being it needs to be easy-to-use, affordable, multi-functional and perhaps most importantly, it should be made with quality ingredients - so this is what we have with Glossybox Skincare.

Want to know what the five products are hidden inside this box?

Contents

  • Glossybox Gentle Foaming Cleanser worth £12 - fragrance free and it has three main ingredients - Cactus Stem Extract, Resurrection Leaf Extract and Kangaroo Paw Flower Extract. Together these ingredients remove dirt and impurities from your skin whilst at the same time soothing and hydrating without stripping the skin of all its moisture
  • Glossybox Hydrating Mist worth £15 - Blending Hyaluronic Acid, Inca Inchi Oil and Babassu Oil, this mist can be used as a toner, primer and even just a refreshing hydrator to soften and nourish the skin.
  • Glossybox Eye Boost Cream worth £16 - Using Elderflower Extract, Eyebright Plant Extract and Red Seaweed and together they work to reduce bags, dark circles and refresh tired looking eyes all without irritation
  • Glossybox 3-in-1 Moisturiser worth £16 - Perfect for those of us who have an oily or combination skin type, this lightweight product is designed to give your skin a burst of hydration and it also plumps and primes. The three main ingredients within this moisturiser are Hyaluronic Acid, Red Seaweed and Tsubaki Oil.
  • Glossybox Night Serum worth £18 - Designed to deeply nourish and brighten your skin, this serum uses Glycolic Acid, Blueberry Oil and Persian Silk Tree extract which bring some life to your dull, tried looking skin.
I have a full review on each of of these products on my blog, but the essential details that you need to know is that both subscribers and non-subscribers will be able to purchase this Limited Edition box for just £25, once it goes on sale at midnight on Friday 26th November.

Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio + 30% off

The joy of absolutely loving everything there is to know about skincare, means I get to try some incredible products from some amazing brands. The latest edition to my collection came from Liz Earle with the new Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio. As a brand I remember being introduced too when my Nan talked about this polish stuff for your face that wasn’t a cold cream and of course we have all heard of that product and have probably tried the Cleanse and Polish by now!
Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio + 30% off
The Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio is a range of products that works on and for all skin types and there is only three products within the range and I am sharing them all with you today. Probiotcs is possibly a term you are more familiar with when it comes to gut health rather than skincare and this is where Liz Earle has excelled with this range and made it simple. I think from time to time we are all guilty of over doing the skincare and reeking havoc, it is definitely something I have been guilty of and have held my hands up to in the past. If we upset the skin, it reacts, much like your gut if you eat too many rich foods, to combat that, Liz Earle uses a blend of pre, pro and postbiotics and other actives to strengthen the skin barrier, nourish, calm and really get your skin back on track. Like the gut. the skin has its own microbiome and is in fact home to millions of bacteria that is in charge of keeping your skin both healthy and safe.

We all know that lifestyle factors such as stress, lack of sleep and environmental pollutants can disrupt your balance of microflora and your skin’s protective barrier can be compromised, causing skin problems such as sensitivity, dryness, excess oil and blemishes.‌ So, Probiotics have been found to be of benefit to the skin's barrier and microbiome, much like in the gut, keeping inflammation down along with reducing skin sensitivity, regulating oil production and keeping the skin hydrated.  Also, the ideal time to be adding these three products to your basket to start using them!

Made up of a milk cleanser, day cream and night cream, I mentioned that Liz Earle had kept this collection simple. Better still, there is four main active ingredients to shout about:
  • Fermented Oats - With post and probiotic properties to soothe the skin.
  • Lunaria Oil - Nourishes and provides long-lasting hydration.
  • Jojoba Oil - One of the skin's most naturally compatible oils, promoting a healthy-looking glow.
  • Chicory - Sustainably grown on an organic farm in France, Chicory has skin-soothing properties.
Added to that, this range uses only natural ingredients and you will find no synthetic fragrances and if you are not a fan of scented skincare, then this range has a subtle oat scent to it, which to me just smells clean.

The first product within this range is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Milk Cleanser and anyone who reads my blog will know that I am a huge fan of cleansing. It is my favourite skincare step in a morning and my absolute favourite in an evening when I can just remove the remnants of the day and relax.  This cleanser is designed to protect and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier for a visibly healthier-looking skin. On the skin, this ultra-gentle milky cleanser works to effectively cleanse without stripping the skin and leaving it feeling calmer, clearer and healthier.
Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio + 30% off
Using its unique blend of ingredients, this creamy cleanser not only melts away impurities, SPF, pollution but it also removes any trace of make up and as it does all of that, it leaves your skin nourished, soothed and with a healthy-looking glow. Those ingredients which make up that unique blend are those I mentioned above - chicory, lunaria oil, jojoba oil and oat extract.

This cleanser is a 100ml in size and would normally be priced at £18 but it is currently on offer and priced at just £12.60 HERE.

The second product is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream and what I really like about this cream is how lightweight it is. For anyone who doesn't like a thick gloopy cream, then this one is the one you need to try because it packs a punch in terms of delivering on hydration and moisture.
Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio + 30% off
With its fragrance free formula, this light cream is designed to not only keep your skin hydrated, but to also again strengthen and protect the skin’s moisture barrier, so even if you have the dry and sensitive of skin, this cream will balance, soothe and comfort. For me, this was a delightful cream to use, usually in a morning I am always running late, I have my routine in my head, which never goes to plan, but the steps I am never going to miss completing is my skincare.  Given that this is a light cream, it does most of the hard work for you in terms of absorbing with minimal contact to massage it in.

This is usually priced at £32 (50ml) but you can get your hands on it for just £22.40 RIGHT HERE for a limited time.

The third and final product of the range is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream and it is to all intents and purposes a thicker and more luxurious feeling texture than the day cream, which if you loved, you will also adore this. The Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream, does, as with the rest of the range, also work to strengthen the moisture barrier to dramatically improve the look of dry, sensitive skin.
Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio + 30% off
It is a gentle cream and whilst it has this wonderful velvety texture, it isn't so thick that it leaves your skin feeling greasy, if anything, my skin just drinks it up and i'm unsure whether or not to add more. This cream is said to nurture skin which is stressed whilst you sleep, giving your body and skin time to recover from the days stresses.  Once again, the inclusion of chicory, lunaria oil, jojoba oil and oat extract alongside the hard-working pre and post biotics appear within this cream.

The night cream is usually priced at £32 but you can get your hands on it for £22.40 RIGHT HERE (for a limited time).

As you can see, this is not a range that will shout from the rooftops about how magical it is, because it doesn't need too, it knows it works, it is back by science and has the case studies to prove that.
Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio + 30% off
For me, the stand out point of this entire range is that they not only create a simple routine to follow, but even if you did decide not to use all three, each step would fit into an existing routine without any issue.  For me, I like my serums and double cleansing, so they have fit really well into my more intensive routine.

Whilst there is still 30% off this range, it makes it even more affordable than it would be without the discount and it is worth trying for yourself to see the difference it does make to your skin.
