Cleansing is my favourite skincare task to do and complete, particularly of an evening when I double cleanse. For me, there is something about coming home from work and just taking time out to remove the day and attempt to leave those troubles, stresses and any other feeling you might have, being washed away down the sink. A cleanser I have used for quite some time is the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, which I first came across many years a go in a beauty bag from a blogger event I had attended and it has been one of those products I have used ever since.
It is described as being an illuminating face cleanser which is suitable for all skin types and much like its counterpart, the Renaissance Mask, is very much loved and hyped, for reasons which will become clear.
This Cleansing Gel should be used on dry skin, this Gel is quite unique in that it is lovingly thick and rich pink in colour, its job is essentially to strengthen, brighten and revitalise the skin, whilst at the same time removing the day from your skin - makeup, skincare, SPF, dirt, grime, pollution and anything else lurking. It also has this most amazing Rose Chamomile scent that, if you are familiar with the Renaissance Mask, you will recognise and it is quite calming. On the skin, it melts on application, is non-foaming and quickly turns from the thick gel to an almost oily milk texture with so little effort it is a dream to use.
It has a potent blend of high-tech natural ingredients which also includes a broad range of vitamins and essential skin nutrients which have all been chosen specifically:
- Pumpkin Enzyme - help to cleanse pores and gently dissolve dead and dry skin
- Vitamin A which helps to improve the appearance of the skin, especially sun damaged, dry and mature by gently resurfacing and promoting elasticity
- Vitamins C and E are known for their restorative properties and work to fortify and protect against free radical and environmental attack;
- Starflower Oil which has a high content of Omega 6, Magnesium and Vitamins B2 and C come together to promote firmness
Added to all of those is Oskia’s signature MSM which not only works to detoxify but to also soothe and reduce inflammation.
I absolutely love the texture of this cleanser, it is so silky soft and smooth, it doesn't have any 'bits' within the gel that make it unbearable on the skin, I love that it is to be used on dry skin and when I do use it, I massage it onto my skin whilst my muslin cloth is soaking in warm water and give it those few extra minutes to work any magic it can offer me, all the while taking in that Rose Chamomile fragrance which is just delightful. As you remove the gel from you skin and the oily texture is incredibly easy to work with, it doesn't irritate or strip the skin of moisture and the most important part of any cleanser is whether or not it does the job you are told it will. Well this one absolutely does and it does so effortlessly, not only does it dissolve absolutely everything in its path, it also removes stubborn waterproof mascara and eyeliner without any thought, it is that good!
This incredible Oskia Renaissance cleansing Gel is available in supersize (200ml), full-size (100ml) and travel-sized (35ml) editions and I always seem to purchase the 35ml as it lasts and lasts and lasts and is just delightful, if you haven't guessed already.
