#WeAreAllies

When great brands come together to form an alliance for a world-first campaign to tackle and highlight the amount of packaging waste in the beauty world, it grabs your attention!
#WeAreAllies
#WeAreAllies
Coming together with REN Clean Skincare is a collection of brands who form this alliance as part of the #WeAreAllies campaign.  Highlighting the fact that 70% plastic containers and packaging waste ends up in US landfills, a shocking figure I’m sure you will agree, with such a high figure, one brand on its own can only do so much, but with allies agreeing to join that campaign and to make a collective effort to make a positive change for our environment, that message becomes much more powerful.

By working together, sharing ideas and pioneering new solutions while at the same time raising awareness that will inspire other brands to follow suit with their own sustainable efforts.

So who are these brands and why are they part of the #WeAreAllies campaign? Working alongside REN Clean Skincare we have 4 other brands, from which I was sent some products as part of the campaign:
  • Biossance - From Biossance is the 2021 Beauty Inc Award "100 Greatest Products of all time" and the 2020 Marie Claire Skin Awards "Best Facial Oil". This Biossance Squalene + Vitamin C Rose Oil. This is a luxurious lightweight oil which is said to deliver trifecta of skin-loving goodness in just 3 drops - hydrating, brightening and firming.  This oil is also housed inside a recyclable bottle and is EWG verified to reduce the environmental impact with every product created.
  • Caudalie - From Caudalie is the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum which works to reduce all kinds of dark spots as it evens out the skin tone and boosts radiance. House in recyclable packaging, it is powered by Vine sap Viniferine which is proven to be 62x more effective than Vitamin C at brightening and to reduce dark spots appearance after just 1 bottle. Full review here.
  • Herbivore - From Herbivore we have the Cloud Jelly Plumping Hydration Serum. This is a naturally derived plant-based serum which is formulated with Tremella Mushroom - an hyaluronic acid alternative, that leaves the skin feeling intensely hydrated, soft and visibly plump.  It also includes Vegan Collagen to moisturise and nourish skin while Strawberry Extract which is rich in antioxidants, including Vitamin C, to visibly brighten the skin.
  • Youth to the People - From YTTP we have The Your Skin Goals Start Here nutrient-rich cleanser which is loaded with cold-pressed superfood extracts from kale and spinach which work to effectively cleanse the skin, remove build up in pores and at the same time balance pH without drying.
Finally from REN Clean Skincare we have the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic, which I have reviewed here. Housed in a 100% recycled plastic bottle, this tonic exfoliates, brightens, tightens and hydrates to give your complexion a smooth, even and energised complexion that gives your skin that glow without irritation.

I absolutely love this initiative, the fact that five brands can come together in a fight to protect our planet, by not being competitors but instead being Allies.  I hope more brands join REN Clean Skincare and the rest of these brands in their campaign.

Elegant Touch Luxe Looks Glitter False Nails Collection

When it comes to wearing false nails, Elegant Touch is one of the brands who always spring first into my mind and they are a brand I have used for years, long before I turned to blogging. What I love about Elegant Touch is that as well as being really affordable, they have every kind of pattern, colour, shape and type of nails you can think of and better still, they have some amazing seasonal nails too.
Elegant Touch Luxe Looks Glitter False Nails Collection
I been kindly gifted a selection of nails from the Elegant Touch Luxe Looks Glitter False Nails Collection, they are all really wearable, they feature glitter and as well as being really easy to apply, they are priced at just £6.50* each.

The first set of Elegant Touch Luxe Looks Glow Getter Nails are called Glow Getter and I was immediately drawn to these because of their squoval shape (squared oval), the shape I always have my nails filed to whenever I have a manicure.

With their light pink, pastel shade which features a really pretty iridescent glitter accent nail, as I've shown above, they are perfect for everyday wear and suitable for any occasion, plus they are said to last for up to 10 days of wear.

Next we have the Elegant Touch Luxe Looks Rosé All Day Nails, and they have an almond shape to them in the another shade of pastel pink the difference between these nails and the set above is that every nail has a gradient glitter effect over the tip.

Again, designed to last for up to 10 days, these nails also need to be applied using the adhesive glue which can be found within the pack of nails.

The final set from the Elegant Touch Luxe Looks Glitter False Nails Collection that I have, are the Prosecco Poppin’ Nails.

These nails once again take on that squoval shape, like Glow Getter above and they are a really pretty light shade of Mauve and are described as having a duochrome gold glitter effect which is perfect for creating that accent nail.

All three sets of these nails are described as being 'Ping Proof' and they come in 12 sizes with the nail glue that you need for the application, as well as a set of really easy to follow instructions, perfect if you have never used false nails before.

You can find Elegant Touch nails on sale in Superdrug, Feelunique and Lookfantastic and via their own website here.

Aroma Active Laboratories Muscle Recovery Soak

If there is a brand which currently has my full attention, it is Aroma Active Laboratories. Having featured products such as the SOS forehead balm just a few weeks ago, today I am back with the Muscle Recovery Soak.
Aroma Active Laboratories Muscle Recovery Soak
I love my weekly soaks in the bath, my ‘me time’ which gives me at least a whole hour to myself as I switch off and think of very little, except whatever it might be on the book I am reading.

The Aroma Active Laboratories Muscle Recovery Soak comes packaged inside a subtle navy blue apothecary-style bottle which looks incredibly luxurious sitting on your bathroom shelf. As with all of the products I have been using within the range, this one has a job to do and for most of it, it will be something we need once in a while.

As the product name states, it is designed to revive a tired achey body that’s overdone itself with the home workout, the extra long walks with our new found freedom or even those hours spent decorating, building flat pack furniture or re-arranging furniture.
Aroma Active Laboratories Muscle Recovery Soak
Using a blend of anti-inflammatory ingredients such as:
  • turmeric which is said to be useful in preventing and relieving inflammatory and other types of pain.
  • rosemary which is known for its ability to help to reduce swelling and puffiness of the skin. Lavender for its soothing and easing effects. marjoram relaxes muscle spasms and tension. It's known for its ability to ease pain and inflammation.
  • cinnamon which is known to boost the circulation and aid muscle relaxation, which will help prevent muscle pain. Cinnamon is also and effective anti-inflammatory, helping to ease aching muscles
  • ginger to ease discomfort and tension.
  • Arnica’s in there too for its healing properties.
Putting all of these ingredients into one product makes quite the relaxing milky bath and one which does wonders for aching backs and thighs from all those issues mentioned above.

To use, the advice is to pour generously into warm running water and then once in the water inhale the comforting aromas as you soak. A wonderful product which fills the entire house with the most relaxing of fragrances and it is on sale right now, exclusive to Boots for just £15 for 250ml, or you can purchase this soak as part of a bundle which I shared last week as a gift for Father's Day!
