Pixi Bodytreats Rose Collection

A new Pixi launch is always exciting and a good few weeks ago now, this amazing Pixi green rucksack arrived and inside, I found the newly launched Pixi Rose BodyTreats Collection. I am already a fan of the Pixi Rose Skincare Collection, especially the Rose Ceramide Cream!
Pixi Bodytreats Rose Collection
There is four products within the Rose Bodytreats Collection and I was kindly sent three to try - Body Cleanser, Body Polish and a Body Balm, the fourth product is a Rose Body Oil and it sounds absolutely divine.

The first product out of the rucksack that i wanted to try is the Rose Body Polish (£24). I love a good body scrub and depending how my skin feels, I like everything from something that is really abrasive to something that is not at all a scrub, but still does the job of a scrub.
Pixi Bodytreats Rose Collection
From Pixi, we have a nourishing body scrub which uses fruit extracts to help exfoliate and brighten the skin, Rose Flower Oil to moisturise and restore plus there is the inclusion of lactic acid which helps to smooth and clarify. This scrub can be used daily, or as often as needed, and is recommended to be massaged into dry skin before your bath or shower. Then leave the scrub on the skin for 1-2 minutes, and rinse away under warm water.

The second product inside this Pixi Green rucksack is the Rose Body Cleanser (£18).  This nourishing cream cleanser is described as being rich in flower oils whose job is to cleanse the skin as well as helping to soften and hydrate.
Pixi Bodytreats Rose Collection
The formula, which I really enjoyed using, has both rose flower and rosehip which conditions, and they work alongside citrus oils and lavender whose job it is to refresh and soothe the skin. This is a great product for using after you have used the Rose Body Polish in the bath or shower as they really compliment each other, you simply need a small dollop into the palms of your hands, wash and then rinse and as you do so, those citrus oils mixed with the Lavender come to life and it is a really lovely scent.

The final product within this trio is the Pixi Rose Body Balm (£24). Described as being a daily moisturiser to be smoothed over the skin, it hydrates and nourishes the skin.
Pixi Bodytreats Rose Collection
This balm is really lightweight and not overly heavy, so it will be great for the summer months to complete your skincare routine. It uses Shea Butter which gives the moisturising and nourishing side with Rosehip oil for smooth and supple skin before rose flower oil moisturises and restores the skin too.

I adore this trio, possibly my favourite collection that Pixi have to offer by way of the Skintreats section and if like me, you love the scent of rose, then this is a collection you definitely need.  All of these products can purchased individually starting at £18, or there are a few very cute Rose infused gift sets on offer which are priced from just £20.

Lush Shower Bombs

Whilst I would never give up my bath in favour of just a shower, there are some pretty amazing products you can buy to ensure you have quite the experience and these Lush Shower Bombs are just it.
Lush Shower Bombs
With three shower bombs in the range, I bought all
three to test and try. They are priced at £2.75 each and you get more use out of them than I expected, even though they are quite crumbly, it just depends how you use them to get those uses. Also as a tip - place them on a soap dish after using so they don’t break into pieces all over your bath/shower.

These Shower Bombs are not the kind you just put onto the floor of your shower to soak in the scent, Lush have made them much more interesting products by asking you to add water, preferably warm and then as soon as that’s after comes into contact with your shower bomb it will foam up into a cleansing mousse that you can sweep all over your skin.

The first Shower Bomb I tried is lovely and pink and Lush have called it Comfort Zone, and with such a name, I was expecting something that resembled The Comforter Bubble Bar, sadly it is not.
Lush Shower Bombs
Described as being like a hug in the shower, this shower bomb uses Blackcurrant Absolute for its comforting, fresh and envigorating scent. Alongside it comes fresh raspberries which are not only packed full of antioxidants, but impressively every part of the berry is used - so you have the seeds which provide exfoliation, while the juice helps to soothe and firm the skin. Following on from that we then have Cypress Oil which has properties known to soothe sore muscles, increase blood circulation and help to detoxify the skin before finally the inclusion of Chai seeds which also aid exfoliation.

What I really liked about Comfort Zone is the fruity scent that is detectable before you move into the shower but upon contact with water, that scent intensifies slightly and it is a real mood changer.

The second Shower Bomb is bright white in colour and is called Sleepy and it looks pretty much like a cloud.
Lush Shower Bombs
Sleepy is the one you need to relax, wind down, de-stress and get yourself ready for bed. Unsurprisingly you will find that Lavender Oil is used for its absolute to quiet the mind and promote restful sleep. The Lavender flower is filled with linalool, a substance known for its sedative effects on the nervous system. Added to that we have Tonka Absolute which has a very soothing effect to the skin as well as one of the most sweet and comforting aromas. The next comforting aroma is Benzoin resinoid which is quite a versatile ingredient because it also creates a thin protective film on the skin and hair, which helps prevent moisture loss and gives hair shine. Finally we have Fine Oatmeal which is used for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, making it cooling and calming on the skin.

It’s hard not to like the scent of this Shower Bomb, it is definitely my favourite of the three and one which is calming and soothing and a delight to use before bedtime.

The final Shower Bomb is called Not Sleepy and not only is it bright yellow in colour, it is one which is definitely a morning product when you feel sleepy and are struggling to get a move on.
Lush Shower Bombs
Starting with Neroli Oil, which has the most wonderful citrusy floral scent which most definitely helps change your mood! In a product such as this, as well as the scent benefits, the oil when on the skin is toning, soothing and antimicrobial. Then we have Sicilian Lemon Oil, if the Neroli wasn’t enough to kick you awake then this is absolutely going to! Lemon oil which is antibacterial, is also known for its deeply cleansing and brightening effects on the skin and hair. This oil contains alpha-hydroxy-acids, also known as AHAs and they help to break down and exfoliate those dead skin cells to reveal fresh new skin. Working alongside the AHAs we have ground white rice and it too helps to aid exfoliation. It is said that the slight roughness of the rice works to slough away surface dry skin cells to reveal a brighter, fresher looking skin.

This shower bomb does leave your skin feeling fresh and smooth and for me, I found it especially good for my shins where, after months of wearing thick tights and leggings had left my skin feeling pretty dry, this is a great product to helping to slough away that dry skin.

Each one of these Shower Bombs has amazing qualities and if you don’t have a bath to enjoy the luxury of a bath bomb, then I am glad Lush have come up with an alternative and at priced just £2.75 they won’t break the bank.

Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition

The June Edition of Glossybox is titled “Dreaming of Paradise” and the inspiration comes from Summer and the requirements of beauty products to take you effortlessly from pool to party.
Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition
With five products featured, some from well known brands and a few not so well known, you have everything from skincare and hair care to body care and lips!

The first product out of the box and the one to immediately have my attention comes from The Beauty Crop. As a brand, The Beauty Crop is a regularly feature within Glossyboxes and it’s how I’ve come to known the brand.
Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition
This months offering is the Oui Cherie Lip Oil which is described as being a non-sticky, moisture-rich treatment designed to gloriously enhance your lips natural colour. It is enriched with a Cherry oil blend to help keep your lips soft and nourished. This is definitely cherry scented, it smells incredible and, as described it is non-sticky and it is perfect for using on its own or over your favourite lipstick.

The second product out of the box comes from Nip + Fab with their Vitamin C Scrub Fix.
Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition
Described as being an energising scrub, it works to exfoliate dead skin cells, cleanse the skin and renew. The inclusion of Vitamin C helps to brighten the complexion and create a more even skin tone, Coconut Oil to nourish and soften and finally Coffee Seed Extract invigorates to reduce puffiness and stimulate renewal. On the skin, this scrub is one that you can feel on the skin as you massage it on, though it isn’t overly abrasive.

Next from Mitchell and Peach comes the English Leaf Body Oil. Again, this is a brand I have come to know via Beauty Boxes such as Glossybox.
Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition
For me, this is a brand you expect to find in a boutique hotel, it has that look of luxury about it. It contains almond oil and vitamin E for their nourishing properties but the scent is described as being one that is reminiscent of freshly cut meadow grass. Fragranced with English Leaf, a blend of soft citruses, coriander leaves, basil, mint and floral oils all from the Mitchell estate. On the skin, as it is an oil, it is runny but not greasy and it absorbed into my skin relatively quickly leaving no film on my skin. A delightful oil that I have really enjoyed using so far.

The next product is one most will be familiar with from Garnier and that I’d their Micellar Cleansing Water.
Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition
I still prefer to cleanse or double cleanse as preference over using a Micellar Water, but this one is said to gently lift make-up and dirt from the skin to leave it free of impurities and residue. The gentle cleansing formula is said to effectively removes make-up without the need to rub or strain delicate sensitive skin.

Finally, a product that every will need at some point in their life, possibly numerous times during the week is a dry shampoo and in this box is Batiste.
Glossybox Dreaming of Paradise - June Edition
Designed to remove oil from the hairs roots to give that “just washed” look, this is a scented dry shampoo called Flirty Floral and with notes of rose, Lily, peony and freesia, all of which are said to scent the hair between washes.

As with the May edition of Glossybox, I’m pretty impressed with this months box. I really enjoyed the theme, it is definitely something I am dreaming of and again, there is a nice mixture of brands that I have come across via Beauty Boxes such as Glossybox.

As you will all know, Glossybox is a beauty box subscription service and it costs as little as £11 per month here*. If you have followed the Glossybox journey over the past year, then you will know that most boxes sell out super quickly, so I expect this one to do just that.
