Five Ways To Give Yourself Some Self-care!

Get Outside

The outdoors is a space that needs to be explored on a regular basis. Getting fresh air is important for your physical wellbeing but also for your mental wellbeing. There’s really nothing like getting outside from your home, no matter how comfortable your home may be. Breathing in that outside air from your lungs as you walk around your local area or take a long trek up a nearby hill, can be something that’s worth doing at least once a week. You might want to do it alone, with your partner or your children. You could meet up with a friend or work colleague to just walk around a certain area or park of your choice. Getting outside is important and it can be very easy to get cooped up inside during this time of year. It also helps a lot if you have a job where you work from home. It can be good to get some fresh air to get some clarity on an issue that might be worrying you or to simply reset the batteries for ten minutes until you’re ready for an afternoon of hard work.

Treat Yourself

We’re very quick to treat others with our money but when it comes to ourselves, a lot of the time, we’ll hold back or refrain from doing so. However, when it comes to self-care, it’s time to make that something you do more for yourself than others. Sure it might seem a little selfish, but it’s important to spend time and money on yourself. You are likely working hard for your money and so whatever you buy, should for the most part be treating you. There are also things that you might want to purchase that help improve those things that you may not like about yourself. We always tend to notice these things in ourselves, whereas others might see nothing wrong. However, it’s important to do what you can to make yourself feel good both on the inside and out. So for example, if there’s something you don’t like about your teeth, why not reach out to https://uk.instasmile.com/ to see what they can offer when it comes to perfecting your smile?

Meditate Or Take A Hot Bath

Sometimes, just slowing down your day with meditation or a hot bath can be just what you need to provide yourself with self-care. Meditation is a practice that has been used for a long time to find inner peace but to also focus in the moment. It has many health benefits that are worth knowing about when it comes to trying it out. A lot of people try it out for the first time, get impatient or frustrated, and won’t try it again. However, it’s something that you need to do a couple of times in order to start experiencing the benefits that it can provide for your health and your mind.

Find Ways To Reduce Stress

Stress is a part of life and like it or not, we’ll all experience stress at some point. Whether it’s a stressful time in your personal life or your work life, there are always ways to combat it. Stress needs outlets and so self-care is a great way of reducing stress where it can be reduced. If you’re having a particularly hard time, find the things that immediately get rid of that stress you’re holding in your body. It could be going to bed early or enjoying a nice glass of wine. Do what helps you and allows you to reduce those stress levels that can dangerous to your health.

Keep Active

And finally, keeping yourself active is very important. It’s worth finding ways to help get in that little bit of fitness here and there. Not everyone enjoys exercise but it is needed in order to keep your body functioning at its best. Find something you love and it won’t feel like as exercise as much but more like fun!

Use these tips to give yourself the self-care you need and deserve.

LOOKFANTASTIC X THE INKEY LIST LIMITED EDITION BEAUTY BOX

I do love a good Limited Edition Beauty Box and the next collaboration for Lookfantastic is with The Inkey List, a brand I have featured on this blog quite a few times, the last product was the the Inkey List Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment.
LOOKFANTASTIC X THE INKEY LIST LIMITED EDITION BEAUTY BOX
If you are not aware of the brand or have never come across them, the Inkey List has a very simple aim - and that is to break through all of the beauty jargon that we often have to Google to find a definition of and to ensure you can not only pronounce that ingredient, which is phonetically spelt on the front of each product, but to ensure you get an understanding as to what that ingredient does and why, therefore essentially ensuring that the skin care’s most-wanted ingredients such as Retinols, Salicylic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid are understood.

Unlike previous Limited Edition boxes with Elizabeth Arden, ESPA and Rituals, this time there are two boxes to choose from or both if you are really keen - one box has been designed for oily skin and the other is more of a hydrating/anti-ageing box.

Inside each box will be five products from the range and each box is worth more than £58 each and are on sale NOW priced at £30 for subscribers / £35 for non-subscribers.

Do you want to know what is inside before you buy?  I am listing the entire contents of both boxes below.

Contents - Oily Skin Box

  • Salicylic Acid Cleanser (150ml)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Serum (30ml)
  • Niacinimide (30ml)
  • Caffeine Eye Cream (15ml)
  • Multi-Biotic Moisturiser (30ml)
  • C-50 Blemish Night Treatment (30ml)

Contents - Anti-Ageing Box

  • Oat Cleansing Balm (150ml)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Serum (30ml)
  • Retinol Serum (30ml)
  • Retinol Eye Cream (15ml)
  • Collagen Booster (30ml)
  • Peptide Moisturiser (15ml)
So there you have both boxes and they are both brilliant, I would struggle to choose between the two!

If you are subscribed to the Beauty Box, you should get an early access email so you can use your subscriber exclusive £5 discount to get the box for just £30* If you want £5 off, then you can still subscribe to the monthly Beauty Box and use code INKEYNEWS at checkout to get the box for just £30!

L'Oréal Air volume Mega Mascara

I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this mascara and it is one I really wanted to love because I like the description, how it is packaged and despite my awkwardness when choosing a mascara, I should like it a lot!
L'Oreal Air volume Mega Mascara
Here we have the airVolume Mega Mascara from L'Oréal is described as being 'as light as air' with a formula which has been whipped to add definition as it elongates the lashes without any hint or sign of heaviness. For me, choosing a mascara is something I talk about a lot because I am so picky.  It is by far my most favourite item of makeup and something I wear every single day.  I have fairly long lashes and I wear glasses for reading, writing and watching television, so I am looking for a product that I can wear without weighing down my lashes and without smudging with my glasses wearing - that means no overly wet formula and whilst I am not a fan of big thick bushy wands, I like something which can reach every lash.
L'Oreal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara, Black, whipped texture, up to 24hr hold, smudge proof, clump proof
Packed inside its metallic pink avant-garde packaging, which looks more gold than metallic pink, the tube has been specially designed to preserves the airy formula inside, thus ensuring it keeps as fresh from the first application as it does to the last.
L'Oreal Air volume Mega Mascara
As you can see, the wand is fairly thick with a lot of bristles and those bristles are fairly long. L'Oréal state that their length is to help evenly distribute the formula.  Being intensely black, I am thankful this mascara doesn't clump, smudge or flake everywhere, but and it is a big but, I do wish the wand had a slight curve to it so I could get to those corner lashes much easier. The end of the wand always has excess formula clinging to it which I find annoying, but it can be wiped off back into the tube.

The formula for this mascara has undergone testing so it is suitable for everyone, even those with sensitive eyes.  I haven't found it to be irritating in anyway, I like the intense black shade, I like the formula a lot but the wand I am not 100% sold on right now, hence my love/hate relationship with it overall.

The L'Oréal Air volume Mega Mascara is priced at £10.99 and can be found in Boots*, Lookfantastic*, ASOS* and similar sites.
