Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - Summer Solstice

Whenever I am asked which makeup setting spray I use, there is always one that is recognised - Urban Decay All Night Setting Spray.  It is one product I have bought time and time again and I even have the travel size for when I am on holiday. However, with the incredible weather we have been having here in the UK, I have found myself reaching for my spray on more than one occasion.

If you are a die-hard Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, then you might just be a tad excited to learn that there is a Limited Edition Version that you need to get your hands on and it is called Summer Solstice.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - Summer Solstice
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - Summer Solstice
With its groundbreaking formula which features the patented Temperature Control Technology, which essentially means it helps lower the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, blusher, bronzer, concealer and eyeshadow in its place, even in hot, humid and windy condition.  I absolutely love that this Makeup Setting Spray not only ensures that my makeup lasts for hours but I love just how lightweight it feels on the skin. I don't want to feel as though I have just covered my skin on a thick set spray or something that does the opposite of what it is designed to do - make my makeup run.

Summer Solstice does differ from the original All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray because it has a fragrance which is a tropical mix with its notes of crushed pineapple, coconut and ‘a sea salt breeze.’ Despite the fragrance, Summer Solstice does have the same formula that we all know and love of the original, nothing has been changed there. it doesn't affect your makeup in any way at all, other than to ensure it stays where you have put it and that is on your face.

As for the scent? Well give me anything coconut scented and you can guarantee I am going to absolutely love it but if you don't like that scent then you don't have to let it put you off because it doesn't smell of coconut or pineapple, not a chance you will smell like a Malibu cocktail as you walk down the street, there is the very slightest tropical scent but the dominating note for me is the sea salt breeze which, I actually really like.  It is a fresh scent rather than something that feel chemically produced and it is quite cooling when spritzed on the skin.

I am a huge fan of this Setting Spray already and have purchased the 100ml edition as a back up ready for when this one runs out.  A 30ml bottle costs just £10 and the 118ml is £24 right here, but you will have to be quick to get your hands on it because it goes out of stock just as quickly as it comes back into stock.

Glossybox Birthday Box - August Edition

August for Glossybox is a special one because it is their birthday and there is only one way to celebrate it and that is with pink sparkles and a whole load of glitter! The iconic pink Glossybox has had a bit of a makeover this month and it is just stunning, I love the holographic drips running down the side of the box.

Glossybox Birthday Box - August Edition
To celebrate the #Glossybirthday this month all Glossies are treated to a box filled with makeup, a beauty tool and some pampering skincare all packaged up like a cute present to join in with the celebrations.

The first item out of the box is from Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in shade Angelic. Described as being a light peach rosé with gold reflections. Described as being a gloss which is packed with a unique combination of iridescent shimmer, glistening glitter and duo chrome pigments.
Glossybox Huda Lip Strobe
As a gloss, it can be worn alone or over the top of your lipstick but if you really want to get that metallic look, you can also use it on your eyes too.  Thankfully, this is not a sticky gloss, it glides on with ease thanks to the doe footed applicator.

The second item in the box is the Rose Gold Lash Curler by Furr. Admittedly, not a brand I have come across before, but Furr is a new, trendy, vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics brand that make handmade lash products.
Furr Rose Gold Lash Curlers
These lash curlers are designed with a unique curve which fits all eye shapes and the silicone cushion makes it easier to grab the lashes to give them that lift.

Next is the Garnier Ultimate Moisture Golden Amber and Coconut Oil Foaming Body Wash. Newly launched, this body wash contains 4 nourishing natural oils which include repairing Amber oil and moisturising coconut oil.
Imperial Leather Foamburst
As this is a whipped cream-like body wash, you literally need one pump to create a whole lot of lather and it smells just absolutely divine.  Also currently on offer for half price right here at Boots*.

Staying with skincare, the next product comes from BeautyPro with the Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask. These eye masks are Hydrogel patches which are formulated with anti-ageing collagen, combined with Green Tea, Aloe Vera and Vitamins A & E.

Suitable for all skin types, these patches are cut to the shape of the under eye and ready to use. Described as being an intensive under eye treatment to nourish and minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, under eye shadow and dryness while increasing elasticity and firmness for a youthful appearance.

The final item in the box comes from Bang Beauty and it is a Felt Tip Liner. Described as being an easy-application, waterproof liquid liner that stays on all day and night. This thin pen is an easy-glide, quick-dry precision liner which doesn't smudge, feather or run.

For someone who rarely uses eyeliner, I found that this one goes on smoothly without smudging or pulling and impressively it lasts all day.

Putting all of these products together, it makes for one great box again from Glossybox to celebrate their birthday and I love that there is a mixture of everything. As always you can subscribe to Glossybox right here and if you use the code BQUEEN20 you can get yourself 20% off that first box!

Ra Oils - Pure natural oils with a purpose

rå oils were born in Iceland back in 2013 by Mother and Daughter team Elin and Frida when one problem and one career came together to create quite a brand. For years, Frida spent a fortune on both over-the-counter skin care products for acne, and on private dermatologists, as well as suffering two painful rounds of Roaccutane drug treatments. Despite all of this, her acne never went away and the strong drug treatments left her face badly scarred. Elin, a beauty therapist and later an aromatherapist, decided to take the matter into her own hands. She had been reading a lot about the power of oils and was convinced that oils could be the solution to her daughter's problem.
Ra Oils - Pure natural oils with a purpose
I was kindly sent two products from the range and I have absolutely loved getting to know them over a good few months and of the two products, I have a clear favourite, it was hard not to just absolutely love it from the very first use.  That product is the Clear Skin Cleasner.

This Cleanser is designed for those who are prone to breakouts or imbalances and it is so gentle it effectively cleans the skin without stripping the skin of its natural oils or dehydrating. It is lightweight and smells absolutely incredible and it is powered by three star ingredients which are:

  • Moringa Oil - which not only works wonders for removing blackheads but it also helps to protect your skin against free radicals, it is an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and it is also packed with Vitamin A, C and E.
  • Baobab Oil - this oil helps to improve the skin's elasticity as well as helping to heal damaged skin
  • Camellia Oil - this oil comes from the same plant which produces tea leaves and it is a great skin conditioning and moisturising oil because of its high Omega 9 content. An oil which is lightweight, it penetrates into the deepest layers of the skin to leave it feeling smooth and supple.  This oil is also non-drying and non-clogging on the skin and contains vitamins, A, B, and E and various minerals.

To use the oil, you need to ensure your skin is wet and then with 2-3 pumps onto the palms of your hands, you apply the oil in circular motions to remove makeup, dirt and grime from your skin.
Ra Oils Clear Skin Cleanser

What I love about this oil is just how easily it takes the day off and as the first stage of a double cleanse, this is an incredible oil.

This oil is not only Vegan-friendly, but it is also encased in chic, eco-friendly packaging and I love the minimalist design of the bottle and its label.

The second product is the Skin Rescue Face and Body Oil uses a concoction of 100% pure, high-quality oils and its role is to help rescue dry, itchy, flaky skin.
Ra Oil Skin Rescue Oil
Ra Oils Skin Rescue Oil
This oil is designed to be used after cleansing and toning and you need just a few drops for your face, neck and chest.  Again, as with the cleanser above, this oil has some key ingredients and these include:

  • Argan Oil - used for its incredible moisturising properties
  • Evening Primrose Oil - known for its calming ability
  • Vitamin E - for its antioxidant properties
  • Myrrh Oil - said to help reduce inflammation

All of these oils come together alongside Chamomile Oil and Safflower Oil which softens and soothes the skin but what grabbed my attention was the promise of this oil swapping redness and irritation for glowing.  I have made no secret about the redness I have on my cheeks, which might be irritating in the sense that it is itching but it does irritate me on a personal level.

Together these products work incredibly well and even though I don't suffer with breakouts, though am partial to the occasional hormonal pimple, what I do love is the difference the cleanser has made to my sebum levels without stripping my skin and the oil leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft, sometimes I use it on its own and other times, depending on how my skin feels, I apply a few drops to my moisturising cream.

The oil is also Vegan friendly and is not tested on animals.  All packaging is 100% recyclable.

Both of these products and others from the Ra Oil collection can be found on Cult Beauty* and from Ra Oils directly with prices starting from just £15.

Flexitol | Effective Foot Care Products

I make no secret of my hatred for feet, so when Flexitol invited me to a Pedicure party, it was the promise of champagne which drew me in.  Despite my hatred towards feet, I do do my best to ensure mine is in good condition, the thought of anyone else having to touch them for any form of treatment just makes my stomach churn.  Anyway, the pedicure party was held at the stunning Townhouse Nail Bar here in London's Fitzrovia and it is a stunning venue with just about everything you can think of for a bit of pampering for your nails.
The Pedicure Party was held in conjunction with Flexitol, a brand which was founded in 1922 by Thornton & Ross and terms such as 'Professional foot care every step of the way', Flexitol continuously researches the latest ingredients and formulation blends and use only the highest quality ingredients; manufactured in state of the art facilities. All of the products from Flexitol contain Urea; described as being a major constituent of the skin's natural moisturising factor, which improves hydration by increasing the water uptake from the dermis. For those whose skin lacks a natural moisturising factor, a product containing Urea can be used to replicate the hydration process.
  • Enhances the skin's ability to retain water
  • Reduces water loss from the skin
  • Improves the amount of water the skin can hold

I was kindly gifted four products from quite an extensive catalogue of products and I have been using for the last month on my feet and they include:

Moisturising Foot Foam (£8.99) - is my favourite product from the brand so far and it is described as being a fast-acting and intensive treatment for very dry or rough skin.
What I love about using it is just how convenient it is to use because not only does it dry super quick, it means I don't have to spend longer than necessary touch my feet!

Heel Balm (£5.09) - said to be medically proven to provide relief from dry, cracked skin on heels and feet. It contains 25% Urea, as well as other skin-nourishing ingredients, designed to deeply penetrate into the skin for intense moisturisation and hydration.
I don't have any issues with cracked heel skin, but I do often find that if I have worn flip flops for long periods of time, the skin does harden slightly.  So I have used this Heel Balm on my feet and it does have quite a thick texture to it, so once you have applied it, you do need to allow it to fully absorb before you can get up and walk around.

Moisturising Foot Cream (£5.99) - This cream is enriched with Vitamin E and contains 10% Urea.  It is quite a rich cream and it does an incredible job at moisturising and hydrating the skin on your feet.
It doesn't have quite the thick texture of the heel balm, so it does absorb really easily and as well as using it on your feet, it can also be used to treat dry skin your legs too.

Cuticle and Nail Cream (£5.29) - this cream helps to repair, condition and protect the cuticles and skin around the finger and toenails.  I hold my hands up and admit that I neglect my toenail cuticles, they are just not something I had given a lot of thought to until my pedicure.
The cream not only helps overcome the ragged edges associated with dry cuticles but it also helps to restore moisture to the cuticles which in turn keeps them soft and supple. In addition, Flexitol Cuticle and Nail Cream conditions your nails, improving the appearance and promoting healthy nail growth.

Flexitol is available in over 40 countries across the world and here in the UK you can find it in most supermarkets, Boots, Superdrug and other leading pharmacies and prices start at just £5 with Boots currently having a buy one get a second one half price offer HERE.
