Temple Spa Skincare Purification Deep Cleansing Mask

One of the Temple Spa products I have loved using as much as the Cleansing Melt (review here) is the Purification Deep Cleanse Mask. Described as being a highly effective anti-blemish and deep cleansing skin purifying clay mask, it is perfect for oily and congested skin.
Temple Spa Skincare Purification Deep Cleansing Mask
Temple Spa Skincare Purification Deep Cleansing Mask
This mask is a rich marine and land mud mask and its purpose is to give a professional deep cleanse.  To do that, it helps to banish blocked pores, breakouts, blackheads, and oily skin.  It has three key ingredients which are worthy of a mention and they include:
  • Tea Tree, something that isn't universally loved by all, myself included if it is too strong, but otherwise I quite like it. Tea Tree helps to reduce redness and calm razor burns and ingrown hair. It helps decongest and promotes tissue healing while reducing oil production. it also contains antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral properties, it can be used to disinfect and kill germs.
  • Up next we have Rosemary which is rich in antioxidants and it also improves circulation, flushing out toxins and reducing the appearance of cellulite. Rosemary also encourages cell regeneration which repairs skin and encourages the production of healthy skin while reducing the appearance of spots, wrinkles, bags and puffiness.
  • Finally, we have Kaolin Clay and again, this is a product that my skin has a love/hate relationship with depending on how it works on the skin. Within this mask, the clay works to gently remove dead skin cells, purify, smooth and soften skin. It also balances both oily and dry skin, absorbing oil and reducing the production of sebum without stripping the skin of its natural oils and works to nourish, sooth and soften dry skin.
I really like the texture of this mask, it is described as being a dense mousse texture, which describes it incredibly well, not too runny but not overly thick that it sticks to everything, think Angel Delight straight from the fridge.

There are two ways of using this mask and it comes down to personal preference and how much time you have.  If you want something that is a bit of a treat and slightly more intensive, then my favourite way to use this mask is whilst I am lazing in the bath.  Using the accompanying spatula, apply an even layer across the face, avoiding your eyes and leave it on for up to twenty minutes so you can enjoy the decongesting and detoxifying benefits, particularly as the steam from the water takes a hole of the fragrance of Tea Tree Oil.  If time isn't on your side, then you can apply the mask after cleansing and allow it to works its magic for just 5 minutes.  To remove, simply warm up a flannel or cloth and gently remove.

Priced at £28 (here) this mask is an absolute treat if you have oily, congested or dry sluggish skin.

Bon Voyage! Pixi Beauty Rose Infused Skincare Favourites

When this incredible Travel Bag from Pixi Beauty arrived, personalised with my name, I did squeal with delight because, as ever, the timing is just perfect.   I absolutely love Pixi Beauty as a brand and have featured them a few times on my blog such as Skintreats (here), Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse (here) and even some of the makeup collection such as Mattelast Liquid Lipsticks (here) and the Lash and Liner Collection here to name just a few products.

Bon Voyage! Pixi Beauty Rose Infused Skincare Favourites - hook
Inside the beautiful pink rose printed case, which is made from a plastic material and perfect for wiping clean, are some amazing products. What I absolutely love, of course, other than it being personalised to me, is that there is a hook at the took, so it can hang on the back of a door or handle for ease of use. Split across two zip locking pockets are some of Pixi's Rose infused skincare favourites and they include:

Rose Cream Cleanser. I couldn't wait to get this open and I have used it a few times now.
Pixi Skintreats Rose Clean Cleanser
Super creamy and nourishing, it is enriched with mineral mud, rose, avocado, chamomile and aloe vera in the formula which comes together to soothe and condition the skin.  Priced at £18 for 135ml.

Rose Tonic. I absolutely love cult original Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic and have been desperate to get my hands on this rose version. Described as being naturally soothing and rich in nutrients, this tonic helps to tone, balance pH, minimize redness and calm skin.
Pixi Skintreats Rose Tonic
Infused with Rose and Elderflower, this formula also works to normalise hydration levels to refresh skin and leave it at its radiant best. If you are a fan of Glow Tonic then you will adore this! This 100ml size is just £10 and is perfect if you wanted to try before buying a bigger size.

Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths. I wasn't too sure how I would feel about these cloths, as a rule, I don't use them on my face, but instead on my hands for removing swatches. But, there are days when I am just too tired to care and have dipped into my cleansing wipes and used one to remove my makeup.

Pixi skintreats Makeup melting cleansing cloths
These cloths are described as being ultra effective pre-moistened cleansing cloths that effortlessly dissolve makeup while balancing skin. They are infused with chamomile and grapeseed oil to calm skin and are gentle enough to remove even waterproof formulas in one easy step.  This pack features 10 cloths but a full-size packet is priced at £10 for 40 cloths here.

Rose Caviar Essence. This is one of my favourite products from the range that I've been lucky enough to try and it has a little bit of everything. Through the tube, you can see exactly how amazing it looks with the bright pink spheres suspended in a clear gel and these are actually concentrated flower oils suspended in a weightless serum-essence.

Pixi Skintreats Rose Caviar Essence
Upon contact with the skin, the serum melts onto the skin and with the inclusion of jojoba, sunflower and olive fruit work to soften, refine and tone. It is a none sticky or oily consistency and leaves no tackiness on the skin after using.  Priced at £26 for 45ml.

Rose Flash Balm. Described as being a perfect pick-me-up for tired, lacklustre skin, this multitasking product instantly moisturises and brightens and is great as a revitalising mask as well as a primer to prep skin for perfect makeup application.

Pixi Skintreats Rose Flash Balm
Enriched with rose, olive leaf and witch hazel extract what I really like about this product is how it feels on the skin, for me, it is absorbed quickly and because it is oil free, it doesn't linger or feel tacky. Priced at £26 for 45ml.

Rose Ceramide Cream. I absolutely love how rich and luxurious this cream is. Described as being an ultra-rich cream which is infused with Ceramides and Rose Oil which work to nourish and deeply hydrate the skin to give it a healthier, more supple appearance and feel.

Pixi Skintreats Rose Ceramide Cream
Antioxidant-rich botanicals also help to improve skin’s elasticity while protecting against environmental aggressors.  Priced at £24 for 50ml.

Rose Glow Mist. This mist is described as being Pixi's multipurpose mist and the rose-infused sister to the original Glow Mist, which I happen to love. This dual-phase elixir is packed full of a cocktail of flower oils, essential fatty acids and antioxidants and they include Sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils which come together to soothe, comfort and nourish the complexion.

Pixi Skintreats Rose Glow Mist
It can be used as a lightweight, moisturising primer, an undetectable veil against free radicals, a midday make up refresher and a frizzy flyaway hair tamer to name a few of its uses.  Priced at £16 for 80ml.

Makeup Fixing Mist. Infused with rose water and green tea, this makeup fixing mist not only smells delightful, but it is ideal for anyone with combination/oily skin to help prolong your makeup and prevent the mid-afternoon slip.
Pixi Skintreats Makeup Fixing Mist
It also freshens up a makeup look. It helps to hydrate and balance the skin.  Priced at £18 for 80ml.

Rose Oil Blend. I am a huge fan of oils, more so if they are infused with rose. From Pixi we have an oil that is described as being infused with a powerful complex of youth-boosting oils to enhance elasticity and leave your skin luminous.
Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil Blend
Rejuvenating and regenerative, the cocktail of sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed and rose geranium oils make this the perfect treatment for anyone concerned with dehydrated, dulled or sagging skin. I have started using just 2-3 drops morning and evening once ive cleansed my skin and sometimes I apply it directly to my skin and sometimes I mix it in with my moisturiser and it smells just divine.  It is priced at £26 for 30ml.

All of these products can be found on Cult Beauty (here) and of course online and instore from Pixi and as well as the Rose infused range, there is a whole host of brand new launches I cannot wait to get my hands on.

Have you seen anything from Pixi Beauty which has caught your attention?

Glossybox - The Empowerment Edition

This month Glossybox is titled The Empowerment Edition and it is all about inspiring you to chase your dreams and to that end, there are 5 products within this months box and they include haircare, makeup and skincare.  When I first opened the box, I was unsure as to where this theme would lead but it is quite a good one.
Glossybox - The Empowerment Edition
What we have are products that come from companies which were single-handedly founded by a woman with a vision, a natural beauty label that encourages people to take control of their skincare routine and it is stories such as these that should empower you!

Bellapierre is a brand that Glossybox champion a lot in their boxes. As a brand, it started as a modest mineral-based company which has since evolved into an on-trend brand.  This month I have the Kiss Proof Lip Creme in shade Muddy Rose which is a beautiful shade.
Glossybox - The Empowerment Edition Bellapierre Liquid Lipstick
Bellapierre Liquid Lipstick applicator
Bellapierre Muddy Rose Swatch
Described as being full coverage, high impact liquid lipstick that lasts for hours without the need to touch up.  The shade Muddy Rose is a beautiful shade of mauve and once applied, it dries matte, but wears very comfortably.  RRP £20.

The next product comes from BYBI, a brand I am quite a fan of and one I have promoted on my blog quite a few times. BYBI is a 100% natural, Vegan and Cruelty-free brand and it was founded by two very determined best friends and the tubes the products sits in, is just as amazing as the actual product itself because they are made from sugarcane and are 100% biodegradable and recyclable.
ByBi Plumper
ByBi Plumper Lip Balm
With its thick and creamy formula, Plumper is described as being a balm which not only works as a hydrating lip balm but one which also both restores and protects, whilst adding a touch of plump and shine.  With a hint of Peppermint and Blood Orange essential oils which come together and work to stimulate circulation in the lips, peppermint is first thing you notice when squeezing some of this balm out of the tube and as it is applied, the lips feel instantly cool. I really like this balm and I love how it feels on the lips. RRP £9.

Up next we have a brand I have only ever come across via Glossybox (here) and that is Laritzy Cosmetics. Said to have been born out of desire, Laritzy Cosmetics, which is a French-Canadian brand happens to be a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brand. In this months box, we have the Dew Pot in shade Utopia.
Laritzy Cosmetics - Utopia
Laritzy Cosmetics Utopia Swatch
Described as being a smooth, blendable highlighter it is said to enhance all skin tones and give an all-day dewy look.  The shade Utopia is described as being a rose gold shade and when the light catches it, there is a slight pinky tone and it really is just so pretty and it gives quite the hit of colour.  The swatch shown above is completely unedited and taken without a flash, so you are seeing the shade directly out of the pot.   Priced around £15.

Essence is a brand who I have enjoyed getting to know, with everything from eyeshadow palettes to sold out and hard to track down mascara.  As a brand, it was founded over 17 years ago by a lady called Christina, a fearless entrepreneurial woman who wanted to create fun, great quality products which are affordable and with a difference.
Essence Glow to Go
Glow to Go illuminating setting spray is described as being a product that not only stops your makeup from smudging, but it also boasts fine, light-reflecting particles that will give you a glowing complexion in seconds. I was quite keen to give this a try and the instructions are to hold the bottle around 30cm from your face and spray, the only issue I have with this, is that you need to shake the bottle for a good few seconds before using it and then, for me, it was a case of less is definitely more.  The liquid inside was slightly thicker than I was expecting it to me and the last time I used it, I decided to spray some into my tinted moisturiser and try it that way and that is more preferable.  Priced at just £3.30 it is a bit of a steal at that price, it doesn't leave you looking as though you are a sweaty mess with over-shine, it just adds a light glow.

The final item in this months box comes from Toni & Guy and it is their illuminating hair perfume.  In the past, I have used a lot of Toni & Guy products and have always liked what I have used.  As a brand, it started back in 1963 with brothers Toni Mascolo and Guy with a single London-based salon.  Fast forward some years it has become a family run multi-award winning global company.
Toni & Guy Illuminating Hair Perfume
I have tried a few hair perfumes in the past and admittedly they are not something I ever go and purchase for myself, but that said, I never put perfume near my hair ever.  From Toni & Guy, we have a product which smells just divine and is perfect for the summer with this zesty floral fragrance. Said to add instant shine to revive and enhance your look, it is something I would perhaps try using on a night out as something a little extra. Priced around £7.99.

So there you have this month's Empowerment Edition from Glossybox and I actually really do like the theme and how all of the products have been linked to it. I love to find out the stories behind a brand and how they came to be, so for me, this did tick quite a few boxes.

As always you can subscribe to Glossybox right here and if you use the code MARCH you can get your first box for just £7.  Plus, you can also sign up here for the Mothers Day Glossybox, which I can assure you is AMAZING, I've seen a sneak peek and the sign-up list is HERE.
