It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam and Effector Serum

As my love affair with K-Beauty continues, I've recently been introduced to a brand called It’s Skin and it is described as being a K-Beauty brand with a difference. As Korea’s first cosmeceutical brand at a reasonable price, It's Skin take science seriously having teamed up with leading Dermatologists in Seoul and by using state of the art formulations but also have a little fun too.
It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam and Effector Serum
It's Skin makes a point of using natural ingredients and low irritant formulas because they believe you can have beautiful, healthy skin without paying over the odds for it. I was very kindly sent two products from the range, which you might have seen me raving about on Instagram Stories over the last week.

The first product is It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam (120ml) - Naturally, the first thing you cannot fail to miss is the bright yellow packaging which really catches your eye. Using a bouncy jelly like formula which, when it comes into contact with water turns into a rich cream. This cleanser uses active ingredients to cleanse the skin to remove surface dirt and grime without stripping it to leave it feeling taut and dry.  It also effectively removes make-up, including waterproof mascara without feeling the need to rub too harshly.
It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam and Effector Serum
This Cleansing Foam works to brighten and hydrate the skin using Vitamin C derivatives (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate) and Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis Extract).  I had expected this cleanser to smell slightly of citrus and it definitely does, but rather than being a synthetic scent, it is incredibly fresh.

The second product is the It's Skin Power 10 VC Effector Serum (30ml) - For me, a serum is an absolute must within my skincare routine and whether it is one I use on its own or mix in with my moisturiser, there is never an occasion that I don't use one.

This VC Effector Serum is in bright yellow packaging as with the cleanser it has three key benefits:
  • Reduce the appearance of dark spots, discolorations.
  • Tighten pores and ensures a clear blemish free skin.
  • Lightweight texture and quick absorption

As with the Cleanser, this serum is packed with Vitamin C and green tea extract and is described as being a lightweight, brightening essence.  To use, you only need 2-3 drops and because it has an ultra-lightweight texture, a little goes a long way. I love that it is neither greasy or overly oily and it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin, plus the inclusion of a pipette makes it more fun to use.

Alongside this range, there is also a whole host of sheets masks and further formulas for mature skin, dehydrated skin, Oily and Acne prone skin, Vitamin E range for all skin types and a range for skin considered to be maturing too. The cleansers retail for £14.99 and the Serums are £12 and you can find them on ASOS, Feelunique and in BeautyMart.

Mii Feature Length Lash Lover Mascara

I am really enjoying getting to know Mii Cosmetics and have featured the Luscious Lip Sheens here just a few weeks ago. Now it is the turn of the Feature Length Lash Lover Mascara. Mii pronounced 'Me' is a brand who believes that beauty is often simply about having the confidence to be yourself. Mii, having taken the feedback from thousands of women who use beauty salons to develop a totally new range of makeup. One that makes you feel beautiful whoever you are. Giving you the confidence to create a look that is unique, completely, unmistakably you.

Mii Feature Length Lash Lover Mascara
I am a bit of a mascara fiend and I love trying new ones out to see how they fair with my own lashes, it is also one of the only make up products I would never leave the house without wearing.  I have fairly long lashes and the worst thing about a mascara for me is if the formula is too wet or too heavy because it literally makes your lashes feel as though they are dragging on the floor.  Okay, a slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

Mii describes this mascara as being super lengthening and dramatically volumising, adding definition from the very first stroke.  Now I have really long lashes, so I want a formula that isn't going to give me spider lashes and nor do I want the clumpy look, I want natural and defined, so it makes me quite picky.  The formula for Mii I really like and I wasn't expecting to. Really creamy and highly pigmented, it is one which you can build without caking and even better, it is enriched with both Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera, so it looks after and nourishes your lashes whilst making your lashes look amazing. Also nestled within the formula are tiny bristles which give your lashes that fuller look.

The wand which has an innovative design owing to its twisted, multi-bristled brush which works to lengthen and define your lashes whilst the tapered tip grabs the small lashes in the corner of your eyes.
Mii Feature Length Lash Lover Mascara
What I really like about this brush is that it doesn't grab a lot of formula, it grabs enough to coat your lashes, it doesn't irritate the eyes, it is easy to remove with your eye makeup remover without the need to rub and most impressive of all is that it lasts all day long, I don't even feel the need to re-apply it of an evening if I am going out.

Priced at £15.50 you can find this mascara online via the Mii website here and Mii cosmetics can also be found at selected spas and salons.

Do you have a favourite Mascara?

REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm

Whenever a new product arrives from REN, I can't wait to tell everyone about it. The newest launch is the REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm (30ml, £40, link). I adore the Evercalm range which is designed for sensitive skin and the Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask is one of my favourites to use when my skin is acting up.
REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm
REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm
The Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm is described as being a unique balm-to oil which is powerfully rich and incredible hydrating, the perfect night balm.
Put sensitivity to sleep - literally. Our latest Evercalm™ launch, Overnight Recovery Balm, targets sensitivity, dryness and inflammation, while boosting and safeguarding your skin’s natural regeneration.
Packed full of ultra-nourishing plant-based oils such as Olive, Almond, Borage, Sunflower and Linseed, these oils are naturally rich in lipids and active enzymes which help to strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier, as well as giving it an intense shot of moisture at the same time. There is also the inclusion of Beta-Glucan which as an anti-inflammatory helps to soothe and calm, ease irritation and work to prevent future flare-ups. It also happens to be a key ingredient within the Evercalm range.  Then finally, Jojoba Oil, a clever ingredient which is not only intensely moisturising but it also creates an ultra-light film on the skin’s surface and actually auto-adapts your skin to the environment without being heavy or greasy.
REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm
I have been using this Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm ever since it arrived into my hands. After double cleansing in an evening, instead of finishing my routine with an oil or moisturiser, I've used this instead (along with an eye cream). You really need just the tiniest amount, which I run between my palms and then massage on to the skin. I love that it isn't greasy or tacky when applied and once you have massaged it into the skin, which you need to do because it is a balm and therefore has a balm like texture.

I have made no secret of the fact that I suffer from blemishes and redness on my cheeks, using the Evercalm Range always calms my skin down. I like the botanical scent this balm has, it isn't too strong but does have that spa-like pampering scent to it and naturally it is incredibly luxurious! My skin also feels much more hydrated, softer and plumped up in the morning.

If the REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm sounds like it is something you want to try, you can read more about it and the rest of the range right HERE.

K-Beauty with BeautyQueenUK

If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you will have noticed that I adore Korean Beauty. Referred to as K-Beauty, for me, there is just something that little bit different, something a little bit out there and definitely something that is ahead in technology and innovation than that of the beauty products that we use here in the UK. In South Korea, the skincare industry is incredibly competitive and this means companies are forever looking to discover the next BIG ingredient. Huge sums of money is invested in development and research and unlike brands over here in the UK, these companies keep their prices as competitive as they possibly can for the consumer because they want them to keep coming back.

So big is the industry in South Korea, experts in skin care innovation claim K-Beauty is at least 12 years ahead of their American and French counterparts.
Now you might have heard about the use of some wacky ingredients and there are rumours of 10/11 step regimes which Korean ladies complete every single day, in some cases twice a day. I have been to a few brand demonstrations as to what these routines are like and it is something like this - Oil Cleanser, water based/foaming cleanser, exfoliators, sheet masks, toners, essence, Serum, eye cream, moisturiser/sleeping pack and SPF.  Putting all of this together, the one thing that stands out is hydration and maintaining that healthy glow - the most important focus.

It is a well-known fact that Korean Beauty gave us the first BB Creams and now we have face masks, serums, cleansers, eye creams, lip masks, hair masks, feet masks and so much more to get to know.

So above the main page on my blog (here), there is a section of the blog which will feature the K-Beauty brands that I use, have been introduced to, have come across, discovered and am intrigued by and they include:
  • touch in SOL
  • J.One
  • Tony Moly
  • Dr Jart
  • Erborian
  • Its Skin
  • BioAqua
  • Hello Jo
  • Holika Holika
  • Oh! K
  • Laneige
  • Seoulista
Plus many more who I am working with, waiting to test and testing.  As brands appear in my stash, an intro will be written about who they are and what they have within their catalogue of products and as the review is written, a link will appear there.

Are you a fan of K-Beauty?
