4 fun ways for you to take care of your appearance

People are taking more and more time to look after their appearance. If you like to do the same, it doesn’t mean that you are superficial. Instead, it shows that you value yourself enough to take pride in the way that you look. However, paying attention to your appearance can become rather stressful. It can take a lot out of you to constantly keep up to date with the latest trends and must haves. That is why it is so important for you to find the fun in looking good. Don’t view it as a chore, view it as an opportunity to enjoy yourself and get creative. Below are four fun ways for you to take care of your appearance.

Go on a shopping trip with your friends
Why not consider booking a trip away for you and your closest friends? You could all go on a mammoth shopping spree. You might find that shopping with other people encourages you to try on styles that you wouldn’t usually go for. If you usually visit the shops with a list and a specific set of requirements, why not live a little? Don’t look for anything in particular. Instead just go with your gut. Obviously this isn’t a financially viable option all year round, so why not set aside one weekend each year to have a little splurge?

Have a makeup party
If you just love the creative potential of makeup, you should try arranging a makeup party. Make sure that plenty of people are invited, so that you can pick up as many tips and tricks as possible. Makeup brands such as Avon have employees that will bring along products for you to try. However, if you want to take control, why not source your own makeup and run the party independently? If you take this route, you can also include lots of ideas about how to take care of your skin before and after putting on your makeup, such as using organic rosehip oil.

Enjoy your exercise
For some people, the words “enjoy” and “exercise” should never be placed in the same sentence. However, there are plenty of ways to make keeping fit something that you actually look forward to. For instance, how about taking on the Bingo Wings Challenge, from Gala Bingo, that allows you to make a game out of exercising. This is a fantastic way to make sure that you don’t lose interest. Instead, you’ll get a thrill out of finding out which challenge you have to complete each day – and there are even demonstrations by Sherrie Hewson available online!

Make your own jewellery
Making your own jewellery is a fun, and cost effective, way to invest in your appearance. You’ll be able to create designs that no one else will own. It may take you a little while to get into it, but once you’ve mastered the basics, there will be no stopping you. You can also turn jewellery making into a social activity by inviting round your friends or encouraging your family to get involved. This is a fantastic way to ensure that you can always find the perfect accessory for any outfit. Whatever style, shape, colour, or size, you are looking for, making your own jewellery will solve any problem.

TooFaced Melted Latex Liquified High Shine Lipsticks

There is no denying what a fun brand Too Faced is and when it comes to Melted Lipsticks, they are up there with my favourite products from the brand, in fact I have featured the Melted Matte Lipsticks not too long ago. Now I have the brand new Too Faced Melted Latex Liquified High Shine Lipsticks and they are very exciting.

TooFaced have used what is referred to as 'exclusive technology' which makes these liquid lipsticks high shine and the ‘melted latex’ comes from how it creates a honey like texture which then ensures the gloss clings to the lips with this latex shine. Using a doe foot applicator to give  a precise application of intense pigmentation and one which lasts for hours and hours and you guessed it hours!

With a total of 16 shades in the collection, some as amazingly named as Unicorn Tears, I have a total of 7 which I have been playing with and they are:

  • Safe Word - A light Dusky Pink
  • Bite Me - A Deep Brown with red tones
  • Strange Love - A Creamy Chocolate Brown with neutral undertones
  • Love You Long Time - A lovely Barbie-esque Pink
  • Peekaboo - A soft pink nude
  • I'm Bossy - An amazing cool toned red
  • But First Lipstick - A warm toned Pink

From Left to right - Peekaboo, Love You Long Time, Safe Word, I'm Bossy, Strange Love,  Bite Me and But First Lipstick
True to their claims, these lipsticks are just incredibly pigmented, crazily so and even when applying to my lips, it glides on so smoothly and with so much colour.  Again, if you have dry lips or any dry skin, my advice would be to ensure you definitely exfoliate beforehand as they do cling slightly. However, once you have applied to your lips, these do not budge, they don't feather and I haven't experienced any blotchy patches.  I absolutely love the packaging that these lipsticks come in. They are easy to carry around in your handbag or makeup bag and they weigh nothing at all, I expected them to be quite weighty, but it is in fact the opposite.

I am just so impressed by these lipsticks, the high shine is incredible, they are comfortable to wear, the range of shades is just brilliant and they don't have a scent to them. These Melted Latex Liquified High Shine lipsticks are priced at £19 each and you can find them both online and in stores such as Debenhams.

Deciem | New Launches

A few weeks ago I finally got to meet (and fangirl) Brandon Truaxe, the founder and let's face it genius behind all the Deciem brands - NIOD, The Ordinary, Hylamide, Inhibitif, Foundatin and so on!  Brandon was in London to showcase some of the new and exciting launches which are coming from Deciem and I was not only lucky enough to hear all about them from the man himself, but I have been able to try them too.

Deciem | New Launches
First are a couple of new NIOD launches. I absolutely love NIOD as a range and have featured it quite a few times on my blog already. The NIOD Survival range comprises of four products, all of which contain an impressive array of skincare-loving ingredients and three of them are also SPFs at ranges 30, 20 and 10. The fourth product is called which Survival O and it has been designed for nighttime use to compliment the daytime formulations.

These have launched already with prices starting at £20 for Survivial 0 going up to £25 for Survival 30 check them out here –link

The other product from NIOD is the Re:Pigment. RePigment is a serum designed to target pigmentation, as the name clearly suggests, but without any of the usual ingredients you might expect to find in such a product (such as Hydroquinone, Kojic Acid, Arbutin, Licorice, etc).

This is the perfect product for using if you have tried something similar but had issues with particular ingredients. It arrives later this month and will be £30.

The Ordinary is possibly one of the Deciem brands that is the most talked about right now given the popularity of the Foundations and the affordability of the skincare. So, what we have is a more budget-friendly vitamin C and it is called The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone.
Deciem | New Launches
Formulated to provide a high level of vitamin C in a stable, water-free suspension, on the skin it feels just absolutely incredible, there is a slight tingling when you use it but nothing that is uncomfortable and it hasn't caused any skin reaction and it makes an incredible base for make up. This product has already launched (here) and it costs just £5.80.

Next is a brand new range, coming in September called ESHO. A collaboration with Dr Esho, there is to be a trio of lip products – Drench which is for hydration; Pause which  is said to prolong the longevity of lip fillers, and finally Sculpt which boosts volume, colour and texture. I have Sculpt which does exactly what it claims to do and I first tried it on my hand, for which I was warned but hey ho, and my skin went slightly red and tingly for  good few minutes.
Deciem | New Launches
On the lips, whilst there was no redness, there was some tingling and a boost of volume, unlike any similar products I have used. When they launch Drench will be £11, Pause will be £27 and Sculpt will be £28.

The product I am loving right now comes from Hylamide and it called Pore Flush. What Pore Flush does is exactly as its name suggests, flush the pores and to do that it brings all the dirt, grime, pollution and any other irritants that sit on and in the skin, to the surface s they can be removed.
Deciem | New Launches
So in essence it is giving your skin a really good clean and if like me you live in a polluted city, then this is a product worth trying.  It launches in a few days time and but will be priced at £15.

There you have it.  Some absolutely incredible new launches from Deciem, a brand which never fails to impress me and one I don't think I will ever tire of.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Day Cream

I absolutely love Jurlique as a brand and have featured them quite a few times, infact their Rosewater Balancing Mist is one of my absolute favourite products. New to the brand is the Herbal Recovery Advanced Day Cream which I have been using for well over a month now and I absolutely love it. Described as being a powerful anti-ageing moisturiser which targets the appearance of fine lines and dull skin to deeply hydrate skin and rejuvenate its youthful glow.

The Herbal Recovery Range is all about minimising dullness and protecting the skin from the first visible signs of ageing and with the addition of a day cream, this is quite an extensive range of products and one which is quite exciting.

The Herbal Recovery Advanced Day Cream features a blend of over 18 botanicals, the star ingredient is called Japanese Cedar Bud extract which is said to help give you a visibly younger-looking complexion. You will also find Lavender, Licorice Root Extract and Rosemary leaf extract to name just a few more ingredients.

What I love about this cream is firstly the scent. As soon as the lid is remove, there is a lovely scent of Rose intermixed with Lavender and the scent is so fresh. On the skin the cream is incredibly luxurious and smooth. To use, you simply warm a pearl sized amount between the fingertips and gently massage onto the face, neck and décolletage, avoiding the eye area, but there is a cream for that within this range (here).  Once on the skin and massaged in, there is no greasy or tackiness to the skin, little sign the cream has been there until you touch your face, then what you find is incredibly soft and smooth skin.

Having used this cream daily, what I have noticed is the difference in hydration. I have combination skin which tends to lean to the oily side but it also means I have dry patches of skin, usually on both cheeks and between my eyebrows, so my skin always needs a little extra TLC and this cream has made a whole lot of difference.  If you are a fan of Jurlique then this is one you definitely need to try.

The cream, which is available now retails for £37.
