REN New Seriously Good Kit

I am a huge fan of the skincare brand REN and have overtime almost made my way through their catalogue of products. If you have never tried REN skincare before or love it so much you never use anything else then the Seriously Good Kit is something you need.
REN New Seriously Good Kit
REN New Seriously Good Kit
Featuring four of REN's Hero Products, this kit is a great way to introduce yourself, re-acquaint yourself or have your trusted favourites with you when travelling. Inside the kit you will find:

Evercalm™ Global Protection Day Cream (15ml)
This is the one product that I haven't yet tried but I do love the Evercalm Mask (here) from the range. Described as being ideal for those with delicate or sensitive skin that is regularly exposed to pollution, the formula is fast-absorbing and helps to combat discomfort and damage caused by environmental aggressors.
REN New Seriously Good Kit
Using synergising Arctic Blackcurrant Seed and Seabuckthorn Berry Oil, rich in Omegas 3 and 7, the cream which is really lightweight works to fight those pesky free radicals, whilst a nourishing blend of Calendula and Chamomile Oils leave your complexion soft, smooth and replenished.

Instant Firming Beauty Shot (10ml)
This is described as being an anti-ageing gel-serum shot and it is formulated to smoothen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst deeply hydrating and delivering a skin-firming effect.
REN New Seriously Good Kit
Hyaluronic Acid, my skins favourite helps to increase moisture levels which give that plumped look and also boosts elasticity to improve facial contours.

Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (15ml)
REN have discovered a paraben-free, exfoliating mask to tone and firm skin using its powerful formula of natural fruit acids, including Citric, Passion Fruit, Grape and Pineapple, which work to loosen dead cells and decongest pores.
REN New Seriously Good Kit
Omega 7 boosts radiance for a brighter skin tone. Designed to be used one a week, this mask also helps to reduce inflammation while healing and repairing your skin.

Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial (15ml)
This is one of my absolute favourite REN products and I was introduced to it via a beauty box, I have since then purchased a full sized tube. Described as being a rejuvenating treatment that smoothes and tones the skin in a flash, this Flash Rinse is formulated with potent, water-activated vitamin C, and it essentially works to brighten dull skin and neutralise the ‘grey’ appearance left by pollution.
REN New Seriously Good Kit
It also works to reduce signs of fatigue, photo-ageing as well as minimising imperfections. The best thing about it? It literally takes one minute of your time to use.

As a nice little extra in the box, there is a sachet of Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift (0.3ml).  This is described as being a powerful formula that works to tighten and refine eye contours and restore luminosity. It is a fast-absorbing treatment which is both strengthening and hydrating.
REN New Seriously Good Kit
Ican be applied under make-up to reduce puffiness, dark circles and signs of fatigue, whilst firming ageing skin and revealing a youthful-looking appearance. It also helps to boost elasticity and micro-circulation so you can experience a smoother, more supple eye area.

I think this is such a fabulous little kit and at £19 an absolute bargain.
Are you a fan of REN skincare?

Nyasa Super Star Restorative Eye Serum

I love getting to know new brands and one of the things I love most about blogging. In a saturated market, there are so many brands I might not ordinarily have come across if it wasn't for this hobby of mine. Nyasa is one of those brands. In short, NYASA is a hand-curated collection of six natural skincare essentials which is built on a passion to connect the skin with one’s senses to provide a truly unique and experiential experience. Combining nature, science and age-old traditions, this innovative range is a beautifully put together capsule of products which are not tested on animals and nor does the product range contain parabens, sulphates or synthetic fragrances.
Nyasa Super Star Restorative Eye Serum
The product I have been using is the Nyasa Superstar Restorative Eye Serum and I have really liked using it.  Right now I am crazily busy with work and spend a lot of my time chained to my desk and the late nights and early mornings are beginning to take their toll as I resemble something from the living dead.
Nyasa Super Star Restorative Eye Serum
Nyasa Super Star Restorative Eye Serum
This targeted serum assists both the elastin and collagen production which in turn helps to firm, lift and protect your delicate eye area. Working to reduce the appearance of fatigue, expression lines, dark circles, puffiness and pigmentation there are some key ingredients which work their magic and they include:
  • Resurrection Plant – A natural wonder, it helps rehydrate, strengthen, tone and regenerate the skin whilst enabling it to withstand everyday stresses and strains.
  • Pure Swertiamarin – A powerful Ayurvedic plant extract that promotes cellular rejuvenation whilst helping to plump and diminish fine lines and vertical wrinkles.
  • Betaine – Helps to reduce puffiness by controlling fluid build up.
  • Rhodiola Root Extract – Helps to reduce puffiness and sagging, stimulate cell metabolism and increase skin firming.
  • Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract – Promotes cellular oxygen consumption and re-energises the skin.
  • Vitamin C Activator – Promotes healthier, younger looking skin through the activation properties of natural enzymes. As the conversion is gradual, it has a more sustained effect than conventional vitamin C.
On the skin, this serum is so lightweight, so silky soft it feels incredible on the undereye. I gently dab the serum under my eye using my ring finger and then using a technique I picked up from a blogger event make use of the two pressure points around the eyes which help to encourage circulation. The first pressure point is by the inner side of your eye sockets (where they meet your nose) and the second one is on the outer rim of your eye sockets, where you will feel a slight dip as you press down. Gently massaging those pressure points is not only really relaxing (especially if you can encourage your other half to do it for you) and it also helps with stress and tension.

At this stage in my life, I am lucky that those pesky wrinkles and lines have not yet appeared but puffy eyes and bags are a thing right now for me and if it was a fashion, I would be owning it.  So anything that can and help I need and this really does exactly what it promises and I've only been using it for 6 weeks, so longer term I am quite interested to see what effect it does have.

Priced at £65 you can find this Super Star Restorative Eye Serum from Nyasa right here. I would love to know if you have tried any products from the brand and your thoughts.

Glossybox 'Back To Basics' May Edit

It is that time of the month again when the beauty boxes arrive and first through the door comes Glossybox with 'Back to Basics' being the theme for the May edit. Stating that we are all guilty of buying that wear-once statement piece over the more sensible staples items we should perhaps purchase (like those 7 inch heels I will never walk in but man are the shoes divine oops), Glossybox want to use the opportunity of the May box to remind us that it is the basics that underpin any good wardrobe and we should use the same concept when it comes to our cosmetics and skincare.

The May ‘Back to Basics’ box includes five simple but super must-haves for your beauty bag, a sort of little capsule wardrobe of beauty if you please of items that you might have seen or read about but are to yet to try.

The first item out of the box comes from Scrub Love and it is the Active Charcoal Body Scrub. Being 100% natural, vegan and vegetarian-friendly not forgetting to mention that it is free from those pesky micro-beads that pollute our waters and endanger wildlife, this scrub is a charcoal based body exfoliator.
Glossybox 'Back To Basics' May Edit
I adore charcoal based products for my skin, not only do it one of the most ancient detoxifying ingredients, but it is also amazing at absorbing the day-to-day pollutants and impurities that just sit on the skin. Easy to use, you simply buff the scrub onto the skin in circular motions, sometimes the more rigorous the better because it helps boost circulation, lymphatic drainage and removes all that dead and dry skin that does not need to be there.  I am a big bag of these scrubs and this one has become my new favourite because it is so effective at what it does.  Priced at £13.95.

Dr PawPaw Original Balm has appeared in a few beauty boxes now and I am quite a fan. As a multipurpose balm, the balm is perfect for always having in your handbag, your makeup bag, the bedside table or even on your desk, it has a multitude of uses which means it can be used on your lips, hair and skin.
Glossybox 'Back To Basics' May Edit
Made in the UK from a variety of natural ingredients including Pawpaw, Olive Oil and Aloe Vera Oil which, blended together, create a multi-purpose formula for you to carry around at all times thanks to the handy little tube.

Ruby Powder Blush in Coral is next and whilst blusher is usually something I opt for occasionally, I do always have one in my makeup up.

This particular one is from a brand I have never come across before and it is described as being a super-silky powder blush which gives a perfect pop of coral colour to your cheeks for a summer glow. The blush itself is super smooth to the touch and is more pigmented than I had expected and it is a really lovely shade.

Girl Meets Brush is a brand I met through Beauty Boxes and the company was started by celebrity makeup artist Lynne Mills and she has used her expertise to create the optimal makeup brushes.

In this month's box, there is the Eyeshadow Blending Brush which is a domed but soft bristled brush which will soften and blend out the eyeshadow in the socket line and then out to the outer edges of the eye. I have a few brushes from this range and they are so incredibly soft, easy to use and they wash and dry like an absolute dream.

The final item in the box this month's box comes from Caudalie and it is their Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, a product I have used before. Perfect for sensitive skin, this sorbet has a really light texture which, once on the skin soothes and absorbs without a little help.
Glossybox 'Back To Basics' May Edit
It is also rich in antioxidants and is more gel-cream than a cream and when applied to the skin it turns into a watery texture which adds to the feeling of your skin being quenched, soothed and moisturised. Using notes of mandarin blossom, lemon leaf tree, cucumber water and fresh mint, again there is a subtle scent to the cream and the added use of chamomile does leave your skin feeling just amazing.

So for a box that is taking us back to basics and is helping to create a capsule makeup bag of staple products, I think Glossybox have done an amazing job at putting this box together and it contains some products I really like and some that I am enjoying trying out for the first time.

What do you think of this months box? Does anything capture your attention?
If you have never subscribed before, I have an offer - your first box for just £5 here
