Medik8 Clarity Peptides

I am absolutely loving getting to know Medik8 as a brand and the latest product to share with you, one which I have mentioned numerous times on my Instagram Stories is Medik8 Clarity Peptides. In previous posts on this blog I have shared the Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil and the incredible Hydr8 B5 Liquid Hydration Serum.
Medik8 Clarity Peptides
Clarity Peptides is described as being the product which comes to the rescue of stressed-out, run-down skin, which ticks a huge box for me right now. It has an incredible milky lightweight serum formula which is infused with potent actives to restore lost luminosity, calm irritation and battle blemishes.

Anyone who knows me in real life, not as the person behind this blog, will know that life has been as hectic as it has been stressful for the last 6-8 months and as well as having a very angry scalp (always the first sign I need a break) my skin is just as annoyed at me, as I am at life.

As a brand, Medik8 very much rely on Science over fancy jargon and nonsense and they like to keep things pretty simple whilst being impressive.  So within Clarity Peptides there is a list of ingredients to wow you, but they also have a purpose:
  • 10% Niacinamide - described as being the star of the show, Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3 is an ingredient my skin absolutely loves. It helps to soothe and restore irritated, redness-proned and blemished complexions.
  • Crystalide Peptide – Crystalide*, this works to not only normalise the way skin cells renew but also promotes skin transparency and luminosity.
  • Zinc PCA - this is a natural mineral which helps to regulate oil production, promote the skins natural healing process and reduce inflammation.
  • Hyaluronic Acid - never needs an explanation as to why it is included but it does help to draw moisture from the surrounding atmosphere into the skin, leaving the complexion feeling and looking both nourished and supple.
With a non-sticky formula, you can apply Clarity Peptides across face, neck and décolletage both in the morning and evening after cleansing and you only need a small pea-sized amount.
What I’ve found when using this product is how good it is at calming down my skin. I have an issue with clay featuring in products, my skin hates it as much as I want to love it. So having accidentally used a face mask which featured Kaolin Clay, my skin was not happy and became bright red and angry. Usually I would opt for Aloe Vera or depending on how annoyed my skin has become, calamine lotion, but instead, I used Clarity Peptides and there was an almost immediate soothing to my skin, that flushed hotness calmed down, the redness whilst it didn’t disappear it was less angry and over a few days did calm down. That aside, I love the creamy milky texture of this serum, it absorbs immediately on contact with your skin and does leave a lovely luminosity behind.

If you are looking for that product which is a  lightweight skin-perfecting serum visibly smooths and protects skin, while restoring its natural radiance and glow, then you cannot go wrong with Clarify Peptides from Medik8, it ticks all of the boxes for me and is yet another incredible product from this brand.

Priced around £45* for 30ml it is on the more expensive side when it comes to serums, but this one is special!

The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods EDP

Finding a new fragrance to enjoy can often be a challenge, for me, that scent is usually led by emotions and the notes that have been used. Over the years I've come to adore anything with Jasmine as a note, but Vanilla is still a main no-no, I find it too heady and overpowering, then I was introduced to The 7 Virtues with Vanilla Woods EDP!
The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods EDP
Vanilla Woods by The 7 Virtues is described as being an Amber Woody fragrance which launched back in 2018.
An intoxicating perfume with a dash of fresh pear, a big rose heart note, and the long-lasting finish of organic vanilla and gourmand caramel infused with warm amber. Made with organic, sustainably sourced vanilla from Madagascar. Made with organic, fair trade vanilla essential oil from Madagascar
This fragrance is simply stunning and I loved it from the first spritz. Opening with the top note of pear there i is an instant fresh fruit scent which lingers in the air, with it come the heart note of Rose and what I love about the rose is that it allows the pear to be itself whilst at the same time you definitely notice it there. Then with the base notes of Vanilla, Caramel and Amber you get the warm, slightly spicy notes without the Vanilla being really heavy and heady - hence my surprise at really liking this fragrance.
The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods EDP
For me, this is an everyday fragrance and one which can be worn all year round. Once spritzed onto clothing and pulse points, this is a long lasting scent which is noticeable all day and the silage is pretty impressive too!

It is also worth noting that all of the formulations within this range are Leaping-Bunny certified, cruelty-free, and vegan.

On sale with Sephora, 50ml is priced at £85.
