Tamaar London Balance Advanced Natural Sebum Balancing Cream Complex

One of the things I love the most about blogging is the opportunity to try brands I have never heard of or come across until an email has landed in my inbox.  Sometimes you find products you don't like and sometimes there are products you just love using.  Tamaar London is one of those brands.  I have never heard of it, come across it or knew it existed until an email arrived.
Tamaar London Balance Advanced Natural Sebum Balancing Cream Complex
I was kindly gifted the Tamaar London Balance Advanced Natural Sebum Balancing Cream Complex (£42) and it is designed for oily but sensitive skin.  I have combination-oily and that means I can have dry skin too, but predominantly, my t-zone is where the afternoon shine creeps in, so a cream, lotion, gel or even primer that claims to regulate or balance the production of excess sebum is much welcomed.  Tamaar London is new to me and this is what they say about themselves:
Our products bring to you natural ingredients both used traditionally around the world for centuries to newer innovative multi-functional blends. Our first range of products have been clinically proven and provide a, safer natural solution to commonly found skin problems such as Hyperpigmentation, Acne, Ageing Skin, Dry Skin & Eczema.
The ingredients and unique formulations we use are gentle, yet effective, hence do not irritate the skin as would some traditional synthetic ingredients, just clean plant based products.
Our founding member and Pharmacist has spent several years researching natural active ingredients to develop high performance, results-driven skincare products that do not compromise with quality.

The Balance Advanced Natural Sebum Balancing Cream Complex is described as being a unique formula contains oils and extracts that have been carefully selected for their antimicrobial, skin calming and nourishing properties. It helps balance excess sebum without over-drying the skin and it uses the following ingredients to do just that:
  • Tamarind Extract - Taramind is the fruit of Tamarindus indica, a species which originates from India. They are shiny and black and boast a number of health benefits. Taramind seeds can help improve the elasticity of the skin as well as helping to keep skin smooth and hydrated, some say it is more beneficial to the skin than Hyaluronic Acid. It is the perfect antidote to the effect of ageing.
  • Annatto Seed Extract - Contains a more potent form of Vitamin E and helps to reduce the damage caused by harmful UV light as well as dryness, hyperpigmentation and loss of elasticity.
  • Holy Basil - Used for its antibacterial properties
  • Tumeric Root Extract - So many people I know swear my Turmeric being a miracle ingredient. Within this cream, it is used for its powerful -anti-inflammatory and antiseptic qualities.
  • Kefir Milk Probiotics - Rich in beneficial probiotic bacteria, it’s proven to increase skin ceramide levels and has been shown to improve inflammatory skin conditions such as Acne, Rosacea and Ezcema.

For me, this is a product full of fascinating ingredients that you might not find elsewhere. It is also worth noting that all of Tamaar Skincare's products are formulated with a climate-responsive emulsifier which is based on patented technology that transforms natural waxes to automatically adapt to the local environment and climate.

The cream has a really lightweight texture and I find I need just a few pumps from the bottle is enough product to be used.  The directions are to apply to a freshly cleansed face both morning and evening, but taking care to avoid the eye contour area.   When it comes to the scent, I really like it, the Tamarind Extract is the something that really stands out to me with its sweet almost citrus-like aroma.  On the skin, it absorbs super-quickly, every time I use it, gone within a nanosecond of application and there is no greasy film or tackiness left behind on the skin.

Having been using this Balancing Cream Complex for a good few months now, what I have noticed is that on the days I use the cream, my skin is less shiny, it hasn't stopped the excess sebum, it just isn't as noticeable.  On the days when I haven't used the cream, that mid-afternoon shine is definitely there and I am glad that this cream does make a difference to how my skin feels and behaves.

Glossybox Angel or Devil? Beauty Box Review

This October, Glossybox is embracing both our angelic and devilish sides with two special-design boxes to kick start Halloween! Subscribers will either receive an ‘Angel’ box filled with heavenly products that will make you look and feel positively divine or a ‘Devil’ box which includes devilishly-good makeup, skincare and body care that will get you fired up for the day. They’ve also included another chocolatey treat!

Glossybox Angel or Devil? Beauty Box Review
Obviously, the lovely people over at Glossybox know me really well because I got the Angel Box, which naturally I am the purest of the pure.  Firstly, can we just talk about how stunning the box designs are, I love the theme of this box and both designs are just stunning.

Inside the Angel box, there are 5 offerings and a treat and there is a mixture of makeup and skincare and the first item I pulled out of the box comes from Stylondon with their Angel Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette (£15), a palette that has a name very much in keeping with the theme of the box,  Made up of 9 shades, the palette is a mixture of pinks - be they sweet or soft and at least three of the shades are shimmery and offer a matte or sheen finish.

Formulated without talc these mineral-based eyeshadows have added vitamin E and are both vegan and cruelty-free too.

The second item in the box comes from Lord & Berry and it is the Maximatte Lipstick Crayon in the shade Angel Pink. Described as being a soft pink, this lip crayon gives a delicate colour payoff.  Formulated with hydrating Vitamin E, the crayon glides across the lips without scratching or dragging and it creates a smooth matte finish.

This isn't usually a colour I would opt for because it is too light a shade for me to wear, I prefer the darker pinks, but it does work really well as a base shade.

The third item in the box comes from Bubble T Cosmetics and it is called the Angel Dust Foaming Bath Powder. Described as being a heavenly treat and if you love bubbles then this is a product to tick those boxes.

As you fill the bathtub with water, simply sprinkle the powder into that running water and watch as the bubbles begin to appear!  I have used the powder before from Bubble T and I love how many bubbles it creates from using such a small amount and of course it does smell divine.

The fourth product in the box comes from MCoBeauty with the Eye Define Crayon Liner in Black. This crayon offers a semi-matte waterproof formula which is perfect to use on the waterline and once it sets, the formula will not smear, budge or flake.

The eyeliner when applied glides on smoothly without pulling or tugging at the skin and it does so without smudging.  Everyone needs a black eyeliner within their stash and this one is pretty impressive.

The final item within the box is an Illuminating Holographic Peel-off Mask from Que Bella. Designed to leave your skin feeling refreshed with brighter, dewy-looking skin.

The mask is enriched with botanicals such as violet extract and jasmine extract and they work together to help to remove dead skin cells and exfoliate, making dull skin look and feel revived!

This is a brilliant box which is in keeping with the theme and if all of this wasn't enough the final treat is a sachet of Luxury White Hot Chocolate from Whittard and it is described as being a buttery sweet masterpiece which is guaranteed to put an angelic smile on your face.
Glossybox Angel or Devil? Beauty Box Review
I am a huge fan of Hot Chocolate and I am saving this treat for a really cold day when I can hide under my blanket and shut the world out. As always you can subscribe to Glossybox right here and if you use the code BQUEEN20 you can get yourself 20% off that first box!
