Boots No7 Beauty Advent Calendar

For the past few years, I have signed up to buy the No.7 advent calendar because it is just such good value for money and it is one that always sells out really quickly.  For me No.7, in general, is so underrated and should feature much more than it does in my own blog posts, never mind on anyone else.

With contents worth close to £175, inside you will find a selection of No7 skincare and make-up, over 25 days and this year, No.7 has added even more excitement to their calendar because there will be 7 golden tickets worth £700 hidden for 7 of you lucky people to find. The Golden Ticket will be redeemable against all No7 products. 

Last year the waiting list hit 100,000 strong and this year it is expected to be the same. Ark Skincare Skin Protector SPF30 Primer

Ark Skincare is an award-winning British skincare brand, which treats skin by the age and concern using bioactive natural ingredients. combining antioxidants, lipids and vitamins.  The Skin Protector SPF30 Primer is a multi-award winning advanced formulation which works as a moisturiser, sunscreen and primer all at once.

We all know that one of the most important things we can do for our skin is to protect it from UVA and UVB rays, it is something that should come as natural to you as washing your hair and cleaning your teeth.  

This skin protecting primer SPF30 from Ark Skincare has been part of my everyday routine for a good few months now and I absolutely love it. The formula makes it easy to love, it isn't as heavy as a cream but it does have a slightly thicker texture than your average serum and when applied to the skin, it feels weightless but is quite refreshing.

For me, how a product feels on my skin when I apply it is important. I really don't like overly thick cream or serum, unless my skin is so dry and flaky that I feel it needs extra love and care.  As this is a primer which ticks more than one box, it doesn't have that silicone-like feel to it when it is on the skin, the tacky feeling after the application is totally absent.  I like that I can use this as a moisturiser, a primer and as a bit of protection for my skin and it can be worn alone or under your makeup. 

Having mentioned that Ark Skincare uses some pretty amazing ingredients, this Primer is no different, included you will find:

• Vitamin E – antioxidant and provides photoprotection
• Shea Butter – nourishes skin and protects from free radicals
• Sunflower – packed with vitamins and minerals
• Hyaluronic Acid – helps skin retain moisture keeping your complexion plump, smooth and radiant

I have been wearing this primer alongside a tinted moisturiser and a BB cream, both of which glide straight onto my skin without slipping partway through the day. I have combination oily skin, so a primer is a must for me if I want to do the absolute best I can at avoiding that afternoon slip and shine.

Glossybox bareMinerals Limited Edition Beauty Box

I absolutely love it when Glossybox launched a box collaboration with brands and this time it is with bareMinerals, a brand I know so little about.  Over the past few years, Glossybox has collaborated with Living Proof, Sunday Riley and La Mer.

Inside the box, you will find five products, of which two are full-sized and is worth £75, if you are a subscriber to Glossybox then it costs just £25 and if you want to purchase it as a one-off, then it costs just £30 here.

The first product within the box is the BarePro Glow Highlighting Drops (£23) - Boasting light-reflecting mineral pearls, these highlighter drops create a natural-looking luminosity. The BAREPRO Glow is more than just a highlighter though! It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘youthful-looking glow’.

Formulated with green lentil and bamboo extract, it evens out your skin tone and reduces the appearance of pores. Better yet, it is also infused with oat sugar which works to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  Available in ‘free’ for fair to medium skin tones or ‘fierce’ for tanned to dark skin tones and when you purchase this box, you will get to choose which shade you want.

The second product is the Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara which is described as being comfortable to wear, it makes your lashes look curlier and more voluminous without weighing them down. Formulated with moisturising and conditioning minerals. This is what gives it its unique weightless formula, making it smudge, clump and flake-free. I really like the brush which comes with this mascara, it has a large brush which features over 600 soft bristles that allow you to coat every lash.
