Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask

One of my favourite brands is Omorovicza, a Budapest based skincare brand who has launched some of the most amazing products which I have featured on my blog (here) and they include the Queen of Hungry Mist, Moor Cream Cleanser and the Thermal Cleansing Balm.  Today sees the turn of the Revitalising Scalp Mask and its launch takes the brand and its product into a whole new category of hair care.
Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask Tube
The term 'Skinification of hair' is one I have heard bandied about quite a lot recently when it comes to describing hair care products such as scalp masks.  I have been using a scalp mask for as long as I can remember knowing of their existence and I couldn't wait to give this one a try.

Maintaining a healthy scalp is just as important as the skin on your hands, face, body and feet and yet it is one of the places that many forget about.  Designed to be used as a pre-shampoo treatment, Omorovicza uses a whole host of ingredients to ensure this scalp mask works to detoxify and revitalise the scalp whilst at the same time helping to promote healthier hair.
Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask Nozzle
Nestled in a tube which comes with a handy nozzle and it is the nozzle which helps distribute an even amount of the product on the hair. It should be applied to a dry scalp and I find it much easier to section off my hair and then stand in the mirror to apply it. Once it has been applied, massage your scalp to ensure you haven't missed anywhere and leave it to work its magic for between 10 and 20 minutes before rinsing out using warm water, not hot.

If you are familiar with Omorovicza as a brand then there is always one common ingredient within each product and it also features here and that is Hungarian Moor Mud.  Within this scalp mask, it works to detoxify and revitalise the scalp and promote healthier hair.  Also included is cooling menthol and camphor which provide immediate relief for irritated, itchy scalps and salicylic acid which provides gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and unblock hair follicles to promote growth and volume. Alongside these ingredients are a whole host of others and they include:
  • Celery Seed Extract which helps to restore comfort and fights flakiness, dryness as well as to control sebum production.  More interestingly, it helps reduce the release of histamine to relieve itching and irritation.
  • Rapeseed Oil which is a strong conditioning agent to nourish and soothe itching and irritation
  • Apricot Kernal Oil is used to rejuvenate the scalp and encourage cell renewal
  • Virgin Plum almond oil which helps to restore the scalps moisture levels and actively reduces any inflammation.
  • A blend of essential oils which includes mint leaf, lavender and lemon peel which together work to cool and stimulate blood circulation to the scalp as well as providing anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
When I am stressed or feeling run down, one place that gives the telltale signs is my scalp. It becomes dry and itchy and really irritated and I love to use products which are both cooling and soothing and this mask ticks both of those boxes.   I love how this mask feels on application because it instantly cools and is incredibly soothing, more so if you wrap your head in a cooled towel whilst the mask works its magic.  Easy to wash out, my hair is so soft and shiny after using and I love how my scalp feels, gone is the irritation and itching, almost in an instant.

The Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask is £55 (here*) but it is absolutely worth every penny, if like me, you have an irritated scalp that needs some TLC.

Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau de Parfum

The latest fragrance launch from L'Occitane arrived a few weeks ago and if ever you could call a perfume 'Spring in a Bottle', then this is it.  Herbae par L'Occitane (£60 here*) is described as being a fragrance which embodies natures untameable beauty.
HERBAE PAR L'OCCITANE EAU DE PARFUM

All of L'Occitane's fragrances are designed to tell a story, one which is as captivating as the scent.
Each of our fragrances tells a story, revives a legend, sings the song of Provence. Our wide range of scents include lavender, verbena, neroli and floral notes perfect to suit different styles and personalities, always with a unique touch that embodies the captivating atmosphere of Provence. Explore luxurious perfumes for women and men, in addition to captivating fragrances for the home.
Herbae Par L'Occitane is best described as being a floral green fragrance which is perfect for either sex. I adore the simplicity of the bottle as much as the detail on the box, which depicts the heart of the wild and vibrant nature of Provence.
Inspired by and based on the wild grasses that grow in the heart of Provence, HERBAE par L’OCCITANE is a green, fresh and floral fragrance. It's the embodiment of nature in all its authenticity and simplicity.
As with all L'Occitane fragrances, they are as different as they are beautiful and if you like something that is fresh, floral, fruity and a little bit musky, then this will tick all of those boxes.

HERBAE PAR L'OCCITANE EAU DE PARFUM Bottle
When spritzed, the fragrance opens up with a spicy citrus scent with the top notes of Ambrette Seed, Vert de Bergamot Essence and Pink Peppercorn and together they make for a wonderful sharpness as the heart notes of White Nettle Flower Accord, Wild Rose Accord, Bramble Accord and Clary Sage Essence are for me where this fragrance really comes into its own and those images of spring as the sharpness of brambles and the freshness of rose which intertwine to bring to life the earthiness of Clary Sage. The base notes of Wild Grass, Captive Musk and Cashmeran bring warmness and woody notes to the fragrance to enhance the floral and fruit notes as it settles on the skin.

On the skin, this fragrance is one which lasts the entire day and it smells absolutely beautiful, I have had so many people ask me what my fragrance is and most are surprised when I tell them it is from L'Occitane.  Available as a 50ml or a 90ml, if you want a fragrance which screams Spring, then this is the one.

Have you got a favourite L'Occitane fragrance?

SVR Hydracid C50 Smoothing Radiance Mask

We are constantly told that Vitamin C is a highly unstable molecule and it is almost impossible to use it to its full potential and concentration. The most important factor is how it is delivered to get the very best from it as an active and from different brands, I have had products containing Vitamin C as a serum, in a paste, suspended in silicone, as a booster, a gel and today I am sharing the SVR Hydracid C50 Masque Eclat (£30 here*)
SVR Hydracid C50 Smoothing Radiance Mask
If you have never come across SVR as a brand before, it was born in 1962 visionary pharmacists Simone and Robert VĂ©ret created SVR: a dermatological laboratory whose key aim was to create "BEAUTIFUL SKIN". Over the years, their son and later their grandson transformed this small French family brand into a true star in the field of dermo-cosmetics.  Today, I have a product called Hydracid C50 Smoothing Radiance Masque Eclat which uses an aerosol to preserve 100% of Vitamin C’s effectiveness.

Give me any product that sounds slightly quirky or kooky and I am wanting to try it almost as soon as I get my hands on it, so from SVR, a mask that comes as an aerosol really did capture my attention.  Said to brighten and refine your complexion, this SVR Hydracid C50 Smoothing Radiance Mask, is best described as being a micro-peeling foam-mask that delivers smoothing, softening and anti-ageing benefits.
SVR Hydracid C50 Smoothing Radiance Mask Swatch
Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and what is referred to as a unique Retexturizing Radiance Complex at 50% concentration, the mousse-textured mask works to maximise skin radiance while plumping out the appearance of wrinkles.   Shaking the can and pumping it onto the palms of my hand to apply to my face, it is actually quite soothing, I haven't used a mousse mask like this before and what I love is how it feels on my skin.  Left on for 15 minutes to work its magic, you look almost as though you have the start of a bubble mask, but the foam dissipates and absorbs into the skin.  Once those 15 minutes are up, you need to remove any excess with a damp cotton wool pad or cloth and then rinse your face.  You can also leave the mask on overnight to really give your skin a boost too.

The SVR Hydracid C50 Smoothing Radiance Mask formula combines several active ingredients which includes:

  • Vitamin C 25% optimized complex, a radiance active, antioxidant that unifies the complexion and illuminates the skin,
  • Gluconolactone with a retexturising effect which smoothes and refines the skin texture,
  • Hyaluronic acid with a repulping effect that fills wrinkles and fine lines.
It delivers what SVR call a superficial micro-peel effect and this is to help refine and retexturise the skin and in doing so, leaves it with a smoother texture, improved hydration and enhanced luminosity, add to that the inclusion of Niacinamide for soothing and Red Algae for moisturising, this is quite unlike any product I have used for some time.

Priced at £30 and available online from Lookfantastic, Feelunique and other boutiques, this is one product you need to have in your stash if you have never used anything with Vitamin C in it,  if you feel your skin needs a workout and a boost and for the foam!
