Design Me Haircare: Puff Me Light

I hold my hands up and admit I've never heard of Design Me, it is a hair care range hailing from North America and brand that is described as being a 'light bulb moment' for 4 friends and it is one that has evolved into a full-line brand which includes shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products and tools and the entire range is used by both hair stylists and clients.
Design Me Haircare: Puff Me Light
Design Me Haircare: Puff Me Light
I have been using Puff Me Light (£9.95) for quite a few months now and as well as being a little bit cheeky and a lot of fun, I have really enjoyed getting to know it.  Described as being the first ever super-volumising powder spray in a pump, it is the little sister to Puff Me and is a really lightweight powder that doesn't weigh your hair down, doesn't leave any white specks in your hair and most importantly for me, doesn't irritate my scalp.

The bottle itself contains 9.1mg of product so it is really light to carry around, making it perfect for festival season, taking on holiday or just having in your bag for when you feel the need to inject some volume into your hair.   It is odourless, Sulfate free, salt free, paraben free and most important of all, it isn't messy!  I have used volumising powders by other brands before and the one thing that always annoyed me was the amount of mess they create, not just of my scalp but my top looked as though I had grated my skin everywhere (grim), with this, you get absolutely none of that.

To use, you simply have to hold the bottle and then spray the product approximately 2-4 inches from the roots.  I have shoulder length hair and have never used more than 2 pumps whenever I have used it, though I do have fine hair.  Once you have sprayed, the idea is that you style immediately and one thing it does is add volume at the root, I didn't even feel the need to backcomb my hair, I simply spritzed Puff Me Light, combed my fingers through my hair and then where I wanted more volume, I paid extra attention to that area. For me, this is not an everyday product, I never have that much time to spend doing my hair, it is either in a ponytail or it is down and straight but... if I was going out in an evening, going to a party or any other sort if special occasion, then this is the product!  Better still it just combs out and washes away the following day with no build up on the scalp that I have noticed.

DESIGN.ME products give hair sheen, oomph, volume, and styling speed. Plus, these high quality products are cruelty-free, and contain not one single drop of harmful sulfates, parabens or gluten. Available here from Salon Services.

Have you tried the Design Me Haircare range before?

Charlotte Tilbury - Cult Beauty Brand Of The Month

Every single month, Cult Beauty have a different brand as their ‘Brand of the Month‘ where they focus on one particular brand for the whole month. For the month of September, Cult Beauty is focusing on Charlotte Tilbury. Cult Beauty says that "Makeup artists don’t come much more legendary than Charlotte Tilbury; with twenty years in the industry, she’s a true trailblazer – creating looks for some of film and fashion’s most iconic faces".  I am sure everyone who reads my blog is very aware as to who Charlotte Tilbury is.
Charlotte Tilbury - Cult Beauty Brand Of The Month
The Vintage Vamp, The Glamour Muse, The Rock Chick and the Dolce Muse are just a few of the ten looks you will see at Charlotte Tilbury stands in departments store and of course, the global store in Covent Garden, with these looks are the products you would need to create each look.  I have a small collection of Charlotte Tilbury makeup and have a wishlist as long as my arm of products I want to add to it, to that end, I have narrowed that list down to these few:

Airbrush Flawless Finish (£34) - I have combination skin, so battling that afternoon shine can be an absolute nightmare. You spend ages applying your makeup, all for it to slide off mid-afternoon.  I have seen the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder on quite a few blogs and I love that it contains Rose Wax and Almond Oil so as well as ensuring my skin is shine feel and flawless, it is also nourishing and hydrated, perfect for those drier areas.

Pillow Talk (£24) - The one lipstick I hear the most about on social media is Pillow Talk and admittedly it does look just absolutely stunning on everyone whom I have seen wearing it. Described as being a warm rosy-beige lipstick with a matte finish, I love the finish and matte lipsticks are not usually my first choice.  Again, this lipstick is more than just makeup, it contains a delicate blend of extracts, oils and waxes to nourish and hydrate the lips.

Light Wonder (£32) - For me, a foundation, BB Cream or Tinted Moisturiser has to be lightweight but give a fairly good coverage.  I really dislike anything heavy and this sounds perfect.  Described as being the perfect solution for those who crave coverage without weight, Charlotte Tilbury's Light Wonder foundation unifies uneven skin tone and bestows a gorgeous glow without suffocating or looking too 'done'.

Legendary Lashes 2 (£25) - I am a bit of a mascara fiend and love trying out new brands and new releases, but I am picky about formulas. What draws me to Legendary Lashes 2 is the description "The nearest thing to brush-on lash extensions, this stars an innovative, clump-resistant 'elastic' formula". For me, a mascara with too wet a formula or too clumpy a brush is a no-no and this one sounds right up my street.

Colour Chameleon (£19) - I am a huge fan of eyeshadow pencils, they make eye makeup on the go (the tube) a much easier take and they are easy to carry around in your makeup bag. The shade which really stands out to me is Champagne Diamonds and it is described as being a Light shimmer eyeshadow pencil designed for blue eyes, which I have and this is the shade which caught my eye before I looked at the description.

The final item is within the skincare category and it is the Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet (£18).  I am used to face masks being wet, overly gunked and requiring some massaging into the skin some excess gel or cream once finished.  With this mask it is claimed that in just 15 minutes the dry sheet infuses dulled, depleted skin with its revitalising cocktail – lessening fine lines, smoothing, lifting, tightening and hydrating for up to eight hours which is quite a big claim. I haven't seen too many reviews on the mask, but the ones I have read rave about it.

So there you have my little Charlotte Tilbury wishlist.  I would love to know if you are a fan yourself and whether or not you have a favourite product?

It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam and Effector Serum

As my love affair with K-Beauty continues, I've recently been introduced to a brand called It’s Skin and it is described as being a K-Beauty brand with a difference. As Korea’s first cosmeceutical brand at a reasonable price, It's Skin take science seriously having teamed up with leading Dermatologists in Seoul and by using state of the art formulations but also have a little fun too.
It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam and Effector Serum
It's Skin makes a point of using natural ingredients and low irritant formulas because they believe you can have beautiful, healthy skin without paying over the odds for it. I was very kindly sent two products from the range, which you might have seen me raving about on Instagram Stories over the last week.

The first product is It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam (120ml) - Naturally, the first thing you cannot fail to miss is the bright yellow packaging which really catches your eye. Using a bouncy jelly like formula which, when it comes into contact with water turns into a rich cream. This cleanser uses active ingredients to cleanse the skin to remove surface dirt and grime without stripping it to leave it feeling taut and dry.  It also effectively removes make-up, including waterproof mascara without feeling the need to rub too harshly.
It's Skin Power 10 VC Cleansing Foam and Effector Serum
This Cleansing Foam works to brighten and hydrate the skin using Vitamin C derivatives (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate) and Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis Extract).  I had expected this cleanser to smell slightly of citrus and it definitely does, but rather than being a synthetic scent, it is incredibly fresh.

The second product is the It's Skin Power 10 VC Effector Serum (30ml) - For me, a serum is an absolute must within my skincare routine and whether it is one I use on its own or mix in with my moisturiser, there is never an occasion that I don't use one.

This VC Effector Serum is in bright yellow packaging as with the cleanser it has three key benefits:
  • Reduce the appearance of dark spots, discolorations.
  • Tighten pores and ensures a clear blemish free skin.
  • Lightweight texture and quick absorption

As with the Cleanser, this serum is packed with Vitamin C and green tea extract and is described as being a lightweight, brightening essence.  To use, you only need 2-3 drops and because it has an ultra-lightweight texture, a little goes a long way. I love that it is neither greasy or overly oily and it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin, plus the inclusion of a pipette makes it more fun to use.

Alongside this range, there is also a whole host of sheets masks and further formulas for mature skin, dehydrated skin, Oily and Acne prone skin, Vitamin E range for all skin types and a range for skin considered to be maturing too. The cleansers retail for £14.99 and the Serums are £12 and you can find them on ASOS, Feelunique and in BeautyMart.
