Ark Skincare Age Defend Collection

ARK is an award-winning British Skincare company that has developed what they refer too as ageintelligent skincare, which focuses on treating skin by age as well as concern.  Last week I featured the Skin Protector SPF30 Primer which I absolutely loved getting to know.

This time I am back with two products from the Agedefend range and again, I have really liked using them within my routine.  With the ageintelligent range,  you start by picking your age and then if you need any targeted treatments, for issues such as redness, hydration or stress, you select their skinperfectors and then finally, Ark Skincare has their core skinessentials collection which is daily skin care to enhance your regime, like the Primer I mentioned above.  Ark Skincare has three ageintelligent ranges to choose from:
  • age protect – for teens and 20’s
  • age defend – for 30’s and 40’s
  • age defy – for 50’s and over
The two products that I have been trying 2 products from the Age Defend collection with the Conditioning Cleanser and the Replenishing Moisturiser.

The ARK Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser (£25)  is a lightweight cleanser which is described as being an ultra-nourishing cleanser which helps with skin’s natural exfoliation for a clear, radiant complexion.

On the skin, this is a really lightweight cleanser that does an amazing job at removing dirt and grime as well as makeup and excess sebum, something I am always mindful of with having combination-oily skin.  Said to be perfect for sensitivities as the natural ingredients soothe redness and inflammation too, it uses
  • Moringa Oil – rich in Vitamin A and C and helps skin retain essential moisture.
  • Kiwi and Passion Fruit lipids – packed with Omega 3 fatty acids to boost skin’s moisture levels
  • Blue Lotus – a powerful antioxidant which helps skin firmness and elasticity.
I have been using this cleanser in a morning and then as part of my evening double cleanser routine and it has an amazing uplifting scent which is quite fruity. I like how my skin feels after using and whilst I always use a makeup remover to rid my skin of anything I am wearing, this cleanser does a great job at ensuring every last trace has gone.

The second product I have been using is the ARK Age Defend Replenishing Moisturiser (£35). The best selling moisturiser from the Ark Skincare range, this moisturiser contains natural moisturising agents such as Shea Butter and Olive Oil which are both incredibly rich and hydrating on the skin to leave it feeling soft and velvety smooth to the touch. It is also said to help the skin look much more plumped and toned.

I really like that this cream is not too thick and heavy when applied to the skin, instead it is slightly thicker than a serum, so perfect for this colder weather spell we have been having and absorbs really quickly.

The packaging is one of these hygienic pump dispensers which allows the cream to be dispensed by pushing the lid down.  For my skin, I find that two pumps is more than enough product for your face and neck leaving enough left over to use it as a hand cream.  After using, my skin feels nourished to the touch.

Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser

The Vinopure Collection from Caudalie has been one of my favourites from the brand and the Purifying Toner is my absolute favourite product alongside the Beauty Elixir, both of which I go through a lot of throughout the year.  New to the range is the Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser* and I was excited to give it a try.
Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser
This Cleanser is described as being a natural and refreshing cleansing gel unclogs the skin to tighten pores, reduce excess sebum and blemishes. It fits perfectly within the existing Vinopure range as the start of your skincare routine, giving you the chance to use the other three afterwards.  I have combination-oily skin, so this range is perfect for my skin type. It contains six organic essentials oil which is said to be a highly effective concentrate for tackling blemishes, but it is three of these oils that really make their stand and can be used in a variety of ways:

  • Rose Geranium - Used to soothe the skin and it also works as a powerful antibacterial ingredient.
  • Hybrid Lavender - A combination of real and wild lavender, its blend gives a much richer essence and is perfect for helping the skin to heal as well as its relaxing properties, it is used to relax, calm and can also help to relieve cramps and muscle contractions.
  • Peppermint - One of the major essential oils in aromatherapy, peppermint is known for its ability to stimulate and reinvigorate the mind and body. Traditionally used to calm nausea or relieve headaches, it also works as a decongestant too.

It is also enriched in natural salicylic acid to help gently exfoliate and unclog those pores and as it is a Caudalie product, you won't be surprised to find grapeseed polyphenols and they are one of the most powerful antioxidants which help to protect the skin from free radical attacks. Lemongrass oil is also added in and its job and of course is to help with decongestion, Rosemary which is great for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and the all-important organic Grape Water which not only soothes but also moisturises too.

On the skin, what I love about this Purifying Gel Cleanser is how it feels on the skin, the gel is instantly cooling and as soon as it comes into contact with water, it foams as you massage it onto the skin. At this point, those essential oils really come to life as the peppermint battles with the Lavender to create a relaxing scent.
Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser
After using, my skin feels silky smooth to the touch and more importantly for me, because I have combination-oily skin, I don't want to use products which leave my skin feeling dry and taut to the touch, with this cleanser, I have skin that is hydrated and smooth to the touch. As expected from Caudalie, this is such a fabulous addition to the Vinopure range and it is a great start to the skincare routine.
Availability
The Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser is available from Caudalie, Cult Beauty, Lookfantastic and Feelunique and it is priced at £16 for 150ml.
