Superdrug Avocado and Manuka Honey Haircare Collection

Haircare is a topic I haven't really covered very much on the blog and something I need to change because as with skincare, I do obviously use shampoo and conditioner as well as hair masks, oils and other treatments and I want to start sharing more of this here.

Superdrug might not be the obvious choice for many products and for me this often makes them stand out. Their own range is incredibly popular with many bloggers and when given the chance to try some of their own brand hair care, I readily agreed. The Superdrug Avocado and Manuka Honey Haircare Collection is a range of three products; a Shampoo, a Conditioner and a Conditioning Spray all of which cost £3.99 each, though are currently on a 2 for £6 offer.

The Avocado and Manuka Honey Shampoo is described as being a shampoo which nourishes the hair to leave it feeling smooth and soft. Designed for normal, dry and damaged hair it softens and smoothes frizz. Cleanses and adds shine for healthy looking hair. The shampoo has a slight green to tint to it and it smells absolutely divine.  Quite thick in texture, so you need just a small amount to create a lather to wash your hair.

The Avocado and Manuka Honey Conditioner, as with the shampoo works to nourishes the hair to leave it feeling smooth and soft and again because of the Manuka Honey and Avocado, it not only softens and smoothes frizz, it also conditions and adds shine for healthy-looking hair.  I don't use a conditioner every time I wash my hair, I find most leave my hair feel weighted down if I over use them.  Using a conditioner only a few times a week, this one is again a thick enough texture that you only need a very small amount.

The final product of this trio is the Avocado and Manuka Honey leave-in conditioner, something I haven't used for a long, long time. It has a rich conditioning formula which helps to moisturise dry and damaged hair. It helps to improve the look of split adds and I find this much better to use than the actual conditioner. I like being able to spritz my hair when it is damp and then style and go.

Now I am one of those annoying Avocado on toast eating people and generally anything with it as an ingredient, I tend to like - facemasks, hair masks and now shampoo and conditioners. Avocado Oil is said to help the moisturise and rejuvenate the scalp as well as to promote long, strong, healthy hair growth. The use of honey in hair care is also said to help moisturise the scalp. If you are not an Avocado fan, please be rest assured that this does not actually smell of Avocado, there is instead quite a tropical scent to it.

The entire collection is cruelty-free and suitable for Vegetarians and for its price, an absolute bargain and one which is definitely worth a try, especially if your hair is dehydrated. You can find the entire range of Avocado and Manuka Honey Haircare Collection here.

Bramley Bath Salts with Lavender Flowers, Geranium and Spearmint

Bramley is a company that until now I have never come across. Made in the British countryside, they are a brand who believe in looking after our planet. All their essential oils are fair trade, wild crafted, grown sustainably and sourced carefully with integrity. The base ingredients are naturally derived from raw items such as sugar and coconut and our wax comes from soya. Created by Chloe (previously at Cowshed) all of the packaging can be recycled and all of the product ingredients are biodegradable, making Bramley safe for the environment as well as safe for your body.

I love having a bath, it is my me time (though one of the cats usually joins me and sleeps on the floor), my escape from the world for an hour or two and I try and ensure I have my bath time at least once a week.  I also love bath salts, I think they are very much underrated. The Bramley  Bath Salts with Lavender Flowers, Geranium and Spearmint smell just absolutely incredible and do make for that really relaxing bath.

Once the bath is running you simply add a handful to a warm bath and then just as the bath is half full, I always stir the water to ensure the salts dissolve. As soon as the essential oils come into contact with the hot water and steam, they release the most incredible scent and it quickly spreads through the house, whilst in the bath, merrily floating around are the Lavender flowers. Whether or not you are a fan of the Lavender scent, this is really quite a fresh scent, as though you have just walked through the Lavender fields and it is instantly relaxing. Geranium has quite an uplifting property and as well as helping to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety on the skin it helps to create balance between oily and dry skin. The final ingredient of Spearmint is the one you first notice and it is one that I find quite relaxing and stress-reliving.

The pot that these salts come in is a 250g one and they retail for £14.50 here and it is worth noting that these salts contain 100% natural botanicals and are no nasty chemicals or artificial colours and nothing is tested on animals.
