Yardley London Hermina EDT + Giveaway

Experts in creating high quality floral fragrances since 1770, Yardley London is delighted to introduce Hermina; an intense, feminine floral woody fragrance inspired by the ‘First Lady’ of the House of Yardley. Named after the wife of William Cleaver - heir to the finest soap and perfumery establishment in London at that time - Hermina’s father, also a William, soon became the first ‘Yardley’ to officially own the business, since the original founder tracing back to the early 17th century. New for 2016, Hermina honours the rich 245 year history of the House of Yardley in a truly modern way, whilst celebrating the high society fashionista that was Hermina Yardley.

With its beautifully designed outer box to the bottle inside, this perfume is quite simply one I was not expecting to like.  Described as follows:

"Yardley London Hermina is an addictive, intense and feminine floral woody fragrance blending pear, lemon and bergamot with basil in the top notes with a sensual heart of fig, peach, black pepper and heliotrope complemented by a warm, woody and spicy amber base".

Surprisingly it isn't one of those perfumes which makes you wrinkle your nose up when you spray it, instead it is quite clean and fresh with the pear and lemon notes being really noticeable at that first spray and then as it settles on the skin with the scent of fig being equally matched to the spicy amber.  It is a perfume which manages to mix the floral and fruity with the spicy so that whichever camp you sit in when it comes to perfume, this one might just surprise you into liking it!

If this sounds like a perfume you really want to try, then I have one to giveaway. There is a Rafflecopter widget below to be completed and the winner will be drawn at the end of the 2 weeks.

Roger & Gallet Gingembre Rouge

Until now Roger & Gallet has been a brand which has escaped me until now, but I am so impressed with this Gingembre Rouge Duo, I am wanting to work my way through the entire range. There is something about the fragrances which are so captivating.

The Gingembre Rouge said is said to have been inspired by a stopover in Zanzibar, described as being an energising fragrance that reveals the freshness and sensuality of ginger in all its states.

The two products I have been using in the Fresh Shower Gel (£9) and the Sorbet Body Lotion (£14). The shower gel is an incredibly hydrating formula that is enriched with aloe vera to soothe and moisturise the skin. There is also an exquisite fragrance which derives from the use of ginger, pomegranate and mandarin all of which cleanse the skin, leaving it soft and energised.

As soon as the gel, which doesn't over lather hit the steam of the warm water, the scent really comes alive and is one which lingers on the skin for most of the day. Gingembre rouge Shower Gel is suitable for both sensitive and dry skin.

When it comes to body lotions, I am really lazy at using them, unless I find one I really really like.  I adore this scent so much from Roger & Gallet that I have almost finished the tube.

Perfectly packaged with a handy dispenser, this body sorbet is enriched with aloe vera, pomegranate oil and beautifying micro-pearls skin is left luminous and energised. The formula is incredibly luxurious and really hydrating. As soon as it comes into contact with the skin, it melts and absorbs to leave the skin feeling moisturised, refreshed and soft to the touch.

When used after the shower gel, the scent is much more intensified and is just lovely. If you are a fan of fruity fragrances which smell as though someone has just squeezed the fruit into your product, then you will love both of these, it is hard not too.
