Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition

Whilst September means the start of the new school year, for Glossybox, it means the start of the new 'Beauty' school year and this months box has been expertly curated to bring 6 products which are designed to help you prep and get organised.  Within this box, you will find products for the skin, some makeup, your hair, your lips and even your brows!

Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
The first item out of the box is the BeautyPro Detoxifying Bubbling Mask with Activated Charcoal. Now I love a good mask and right now, I am loving masks which bubble, they are so much fun and when life has been a bit stressful, you need a bit of fun.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition

Using activated charcoal, often described as being a miracle worker for blemish prone skin, alongside extracts of lime, lemon, apple, orange and grapefruit (this is how I get my 5 a day) this mask is a self-foaming sheet mask that rids skin of daily dirt, oil and impurities. It's not tested on animals and it is free from parabens, mineral oils, lanolin and petroleum and best of all it is just £4.95 and you can even find it in Sainsbury's!

The second item out of the box is the Your Facial Mini Scrubber. Coming all the way from the USA, this dual texture facial scrubber is made using soy and a natural cotton base layer which helps to create a really rich lather.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
Said to be perfect for sensitive skin, it has been dermatologically tested, is cruelty free and is perfect for travelling.  So it is coming with me to EuroDisney in 7 weeks time and it retails for £8.85!

Next comes an Eyebrow Cream from Bang Beauty. Admittedly this is not a brand I have heard of before and one of the reasons I love beauty boxes is for this reason.  We all know how popular the brows are and what a difference they can make to your makeup look and even your face.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
This Eyebrow Cream has a really creamy consistency and lightweight when using. It comes with its own angled brush for application and it would give some other HD Brow products a real run for their money.  I have the shade Milk Chocolate, which is a slightly too dark for my brows, but if I apply it lightly enough and use my spoolie, I can get it to work.  Priced at £16.80.

One item of makeup I never ever seem to purchase are Lip Liners and within this months Glossybox we have a Karl Lagerfeld Lip Liner in shade Rosewood.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
Lining your lips is said to be essential for defining and prolonging the wear of your lipstick (oops) and this liner is made of a soft wax which gives a really creamy formula to work with. The shade, Rosewood will work with quite a few of my lipsticks, so I am keen to give it a try. Priced at £25.

Item number five from Glossybox comes from the Grow Gorgeous brand and it is a product I really like and am glad to have back in my stash and that is Scalp Detox. Scalp Dexotxing should be as much a part of your routine as using an exfoliator on the face.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
This little number uses natural Castor Oil Beads, White Willow Bark extract and Pomegranate Fruit Enzymes to gently exfoliate the scalp, providing a deep, intensive clean that eliminates clogging impurities, product build up, dry skin and dandruff to create the ideal environment for hair growth. I have combination hair which means oily roots and dry ends and having oily roots often means a dry scalp, so products such as this are amazing to use. A deluxe mini at 50ml and worth £7.37.

The final item in this months Glossybox is a packet of Be Fresh Antibacterial Wipes from Wet Ones and whilst I don't use them on my face to remove makeup, I do use them to remove swatches before washing my hands and arms and I do have some on my desk at work just in case.  Worth £1.19.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
I think this months box is fabulous, I actually like all of the contents and will use them. I have discovered some new products I didn't know I needed, have been reaquainted with some trusty favourites and GLOSSYBOX’S ‘Back To School' edition is available now and you can subscribe from just £10 a month (+P&P) or take advantage of a 12-month subscription, saving £18 at www.glossybox.co.uk.

Not forgetting at the end of this month, Glossybox have a collaboration with Sunday Riley which you can read more about HERE and if you love a Beauty Advent Calendar, guess what? Yes, Glossybox have one of those too and you can read all about that HERE.

Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition

The July edition of Glossybox has arrived and this month the theme is 'Under The Sea' and it arrives in the most stunning box which is very mermaid-esque. Featuring products that are designed to give you that beach babe vibe, these are the essentials, worth £49.93* within my box.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
SENHOR DO BONFIM Sea Water Hair Spray (£16) - A full-size product at 50ml this spray is said to help you achieve beachy mermaid waves. The bottle which is pink plastic features a cute shell theme which is in keeping with the theme.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
I have never come across the brand before, but I do love sprays like this which help tame my natural waves in the humidity, so I am looking forward to giving it a try.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy Hand Cream (£8) - This is one of my favourite hand creams from Crabtree & Evelyn and I am glad to have another tube to add to my stash.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
It is infused with a Hydra Marine Blend of Green Seaweed and Red Algae which soothes and nourishes as antioxidant Vitamin E helps to protect against environmental aggressors and then there is a Myrrh Extract which helps to condition the nails and cuticles whilst Shea Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil pamper and regenerate. This is the perfect hand cream if your hands are in need of some TLC because it is so hydrating and moisturising without being greasy.

Oriflame The One-in-5 Wonder Lash Mascara (£9) - A brand I haven't come across for years, this mascara from Oriflame claims that it will smoothly lift, curl, volumise, lengthen and separate the lashes without smudging, smearing, running or flaking which is quite a bold claim.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
With a unique double-sided brush, it is recommended that the short bristles are used to lift and sculpt the lashes and the other side to lengthen and define.  I am glad that the formula of this mascara isn't overly wet and it is a deep black shade.  One the lashes, I didn't notice that it lifted, curled or added any volume when used, but I do have fairly long lashes.

Inuwet Cheek Shell Brush (£15) - Hailing from Korea, this cruelty-free and Vegan cheek brush is again very much in keeping with the theme of the box with its shell design.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
Perfect for the application of powdered bronzers, blushers and highlighters, the synthetic bristles which are densely packed are incredibly soft on the skin.

Regenerate Enamel Science Toothpaste (£2.50) - This toothpaste, which I've read quite a bit about, features the clinically proven, patented NR-5™ technology. This toothpaste effectively works to recreate the mineral that tooth enamel is made of, working to reverse the early erosion process and protect against cavities, acid and decay.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
Im not too sure how this fits in with the theme of the box, but it is a handy size for travelling and has been added to my travel products ready for Disneyland Paris in a few months time.

The final product in the box is described as being a 'treat' and in short, it isn't, it is a sachet that doesn't contain enough product to gage an opinion as to whether or not you would purchase a full size.
Glossybox Under The Sea - July Edition
However, this sachet of Hawaiian Tropic Duo Defence Sun Lotion SPF30 is made with green tea extract to form an Anti-Pollution protective layer on your skin. Described as having a lightweight texture, leaving the skin feeling moisturised and pampered, never greasy it is infused with mango, guava, papaya, and passion fruit. Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation and water-resistant for up to 80 minutes. Now, this would have been a great addition to the box had it been a better size because it is something you would use on holiday, by the sea or just for some added protection whilst enjoying this glorious UK sunshine.

So there you have 'Under The Sea' from Glossybox to complete there July Edition.  To add to the excitement, GLOSSYBOX has also teamed up with On the Beach to offer a prize draw to win a £500 voucher to spend on a holiday.

GLOSSYBOX’S ‘UNDER THE SEA is available now and you can subscribe from just £10 a month (+P&P) or take advantage of a 12-month subscription, saving £18 at www.glossybox.co.uk.

Vegan Limited Edition Box by Glossybox

The Vegan Limited Edition Box by Glossybox has arrived and Glossybox has curated it as an introduction to Vegan products, meaning that everything within this box does not contain any animal products, any animal by-products or any animal derivatives. Going Vegan is a phrase I hear a lot from friends, colleagues as well as those who are on my social feeds. As time goes on, we are beginning to learn much more about being Vegan, not only from food sources but also beauty brands and even clothing labels.  So for Glossybox to put together such a box, is for me quite an eye opener as to how many brands there are to get to know, become reacquainted with and even discover for that very first time.
Vegan Limited Edition Box by Glossybox
This is what you will find inside the box:
  • KAT VON D Tattoo Liner Deluxe Mini  - She might have been in the news a lot recently with her stance on vaccines but the brand is well known for its stance on animal testing. This Liner is said to be the one Kat uses herself.
  • TROPIC SKINCARE Lip Fudge Plumping Lip Conditioner in Rosewood Full Size - I love Tropic as a range and this Lip Fudge is just a delight to use with its mint and vanilla scent. Packed with plant extracts and the use of Mango Wax, this balm is just divine.
  • ORIGINAL SOURCE Lemon and Lime Foaming Shower Gel Full Size - Well this was a nice surprise. I am probably one a whole group of people who will remember their very first Original Source product and I am sure the men amongst us too for reasons that still make their eyes water!  This Foaming Shower Gel literally is a burst of tangy scents and this one bottle lasts for up to 35 washes!
  • DR ORGANICS Vitamin E Super Hydrating Cream - Packed with the goodness of Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Shea and Cocoa butter, this cream is described as being a bit of a multitasker in that you can use it on your face and body.
  • MARIA NILA Head & Hair Heal Masque Full Size - I've recently been trying some Maria Nila haircare products and I am really impressed with them so far. So having a masque to now try is really exciting.  Described as being a multifunctional mask to promote a healthy scalp and stronger, shinier hair, it is also said to prevent dandruff and itchy scalps!
  • NOUGHTY HAIRCARE Noughty To the Rescue Anti-Frizz Serum Full size - I've seen this brand a lot on my social media feed this week, so I am incredibly intrigued. Packed with argan oil, sweet almond oil this deeply nourishing smooths, hydrates and tames locks and it also protects your hair in heat up to 220 degrees.
  • SO ECO Eye Shading Brush Full Size - Ethically sourced and eco friendly, this brush is made from sustainable bamboo, recycled aluminium and cruelty-free bristles. Ideal for using both powders and liquids, it is really silky soft!
  • TINTS OF NATURE Hydrate Shampoo Deluxe Mini - Said to be made from only the best Organic and natural ingredients, this shampoo uses Aloe and other natural extracts to cleanse and moisturise your hair. It is also pH balanced, free from damaging salts and sulphates and it has a really subtle sweet berry scent to it.
  • WELEDA Birch Cellulite Oil Deluxe Mini - This Oil is formulated to firm, smooth and tone your skin and is made using organic birch leaf extract, nourishing plant oils of apricot, wheat germ and jojoba and it is advised that you should use it twice a day for four weeks and then daily afterwards for the best results.
  • PURE CHIMP Matcha Tea Full Size - Made from specially grown matcha green tea leaves, this tea is packed full of antioxidants which are said to boost your metabolism and improve your concentration!
I think this is a great little introduction to the world of Vegan products and there are some brands included that I am already a fan of and some I am looking forward to getting to know.

If you’re an existing GLOSSYBOX subscriber you can get your hands on this Limited Edition Vegan Box for just £25. Non-subscribers can purchase a for £30. The value of the box is just over £80.00. March Glossybox

The month of March means Spring is on the horizon and hoping we have seen the last of the snow, wind and rain and in its place will be that yellow ball of loveliness in its place.  Whilst we all wait for our dose of Vitamin D, the lovely people over at Glossybox have curated a box of products which are designed to refresh and revive with five products.
March Glossybox
The featured product of the month comes from Mudmasky, a brand I have never come across until now but it is one which hails from one of my favourite cities - Amsterdam. The Sleep Repair Renewal Mask is described as being something which repairs, protects and nourishes skin while keeping your skin perfectly balanced at night. Using only fresh, raw, all natural ingredients this mask is scented with natural rose water which has been imported from a small village in Persia and this also helps to induce a more restful sleep after a long day.
March Glossybox
When it comes to using this product, it is a gel-like textured cream which isn't too thick, you simply apply a thin layer to your skin after cleansing and then leave it on overnight and wash off with warm water. This is a 20ml sample size but has a value of around £20 (a full 60ml size retails for £61).

Next, we have Laura Geller, a brand I am sure most of you will be familiar with. The product is an Illuminating stick in shade Ballerina.  For me, one thing I like about the Laura Geller brand is the highlighters, but I had no idea there was a stick version. Ballerina is described as being rose gold toned, so it is quite on trend with other brands right now and I like how creamy this feels on the skin and the fact you can apply it directly to your cheekbones, brows or even collarbone and then blend with your fingers to get the look you want.
March Glossybox
March Glossybox
If Ballerina doesn't sound like it is the shade for you, then there is also Gilded Honey which is a warm, pale honey-toned gold and Ethereal which is described as being the perfect pearl-pink blush-meets-highlight. This is a full sized product and it has an RRP £21.

The third product within my box comes from Figs & Rouge, again a brand I know very little about. Soft Focus Pore Perfect HD+ is described as being a weightless, matte Serum which helps minimise the appearance of pores and create a sheer complexion. It features which is referred to as being a duo-Action Anti-Blemish formulation and this not only helps to reduce skin impurities but it also to combat breakouts. The HD+ Complex helps to diminish shine as well as helping to fade imperfections and promote a clearer balanced complexion.
March Glossybox
At £34.99 for 30ml it is quite pricey and it promised quite a lot, so I decided to give it a try on one of my busiest working days which saw me do a 12-hour shift and then go on to an event afterwards which meant a 15 hour day of wearing this product.  Having a slight hint of pink to the serum, it applies like an absolute dream, you only need a small amount and I was quite taken with just how much it helps to not only diminish that shine but also keep the shine at bay, it does help to minimise the look of pores but obviously it doesn't get rid of them because we all know that isn't ever going to happen.  My liquid foundation also applied like a dream and having tried this product just a few times, I am debating buying a back up because I like it this much.

Next is Oryza, another brand I have never come across and in my box, I have shade Velvet Ribbon which is described as being a warm nude which has a weightless, semi-matte yet satin finish.
March Glossybox
March Glossybox
I wasn't too sure I would like this lipstick from the description but because it has peachy pink undertones it isn't too orange or brown, it is a nice nude shade, the swatch you can see above is unedited.  Hydrating because it contains natural ingredients which include rice germ oil, shea butter, papaya fruit extract and vitamin E hydrating complex.  This is a full sized product with an RRP £15.95.

The final item in my box is Lue by Jean Seo and another brand I have never come across until now. An American based brand, Jean Seo has created a capsule style skincare regime which has just three steps and Step 1 is called Erase and it is the product in my box.
March Glossybox
Described as being a cleansing, exfoliating & brightening powder. This pH balanced gommage works to clear the complexion, balance the skin and leave it not only feeling radiant but smooth too. It is made with non-fat milk powder, finely milled whole grain oats, and a touch of magnesium carbonate and to use it you need to mix a tablespoon of Erase with half a tablespoon of water to form a paste and then you apply that paste to your face and leave it on for around a minute to let it almost dry and then gently massage the product off your face and as it peels away, it should bring with it any bit of detritus which is hanging around on the skin - even blackheads!  This is a full sized product and it has an RRP £11.

Incredibly this box has a value of over £100 and for me, it is one of the best Glossyboxes I have ever had.  I love that I know pretty much nothing about the contents or the brands included and this is why I love beauty boxes.  I love being introduced to new things, there is always a chance I might not like something but equally, there is always a chance that I will love something - Figs & Rouge from this box being the prime example.   I would love to know what you think to this box?

If you do like the sound of this box then you can enter code: GLOSSY at checkout to get 20% off your one-month subscription. Expires: 31/03

This is Powder Detox Edition

I love a good beauty box and when Powder landed on my doorstep I was really impressed with how it looked, never mind the contents inside. If you have never heard of Powder before, it launched back in 2015 and is part of Time Inc. (UK) Ltd, home to iconic brands such as Marie Claire, InStyle, Wallpaper* and Look and it is all about sharing the love, the love of products which the expert Beauty Editors get to know, try and test and bring them together into one box - Powder.
This is Powder Detox Edition
January is the Detox Edition Box and quite apt timing!  New Year, New Start, Out with the old in with the new and all of that.  Inside this pastel pink box, which by the way has a drawer which you open and to get you started for 2018 there are an amazing 13 products which includes a mixture of skincare and makeup from some amazing brands.
This is Powder Detox Edition

First out of the box is a tube of Crabtree & Evelyn Old World Jasmine Ultra-moisturising Hand Therapy.
This is Powder Detox Edition
I really like Crabtree & Evelyn as a brand and this hand cream is infused with shea butter, macadamia nut oil, and our special Trio Oil Blend of moringa, evening primrose and rosehip oils to nourish, soften and protect your hands and it smells just absolutely incredible.

Next, we have something for the hair and it comes from Hask. I have used a few Hask products recently and really liked the masks.
This is Powder Detox Edition
Within this box, we have the HASK Charcoal Purifying Deep Conditioner and it is described as being a super-moisturising, clarifying treatment which is non-staining & safe for all hair types (natural or colour treated hair) that nourishes & softens. Charcoal, derived from coconut shells, combined with citrus oil, absorbs impurities & helps restore hair to its natural radiance.

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know I am a huge fan of Tropic skincare (see here and here) and I was delighted to see a really cute little bottle of Tropic Super Greens Nutrient Boost Serum.
This is Powder Detox Edition
Described as being a scientifically tested serum which delivers a dose of nutrients and vitamins deep into the skin for a rejuvenated complexion that glows with vitality.

I love a good lip balm and also in this box is The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm. Described as being a rich nourishing balm which is infused with Shea Butter, Pomegranate, Rose Hip and Vitamin E to protect and restore lips.
This is Powder Detox Edition
I love a good lip balm and looking forward to giving it a try.

Next is the Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Serum which is said to be a favourite of Kylie Jenner. Anyway, it is described as being a lightweight serum that delivers an instant shot of moisture to dehydrated skin.
This is Powder Detox Edition
The use of both Hyaluronic acid and delicate velvet flower blend together for an intensive hydrating effect that is said to leave skin feeling comforted and looking plumper with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles reduced.

Lottie London isn't a brand that I am too familiar with but within this box is the Lottie London Glossip Girl Lipgloss in Bare.
This is Powder Detox Edition
In a brown tube adorned with hearts, this lipgloss is described as being a full coverage gloss which is highly pigmented and not only is it paraben and gluten free, it is also vegan-friendly.

Next is a brand I've seen a lot of but no nothing about and that is Darphin. In this Powder box is a little pot of the Essential Oil Elixir Vetiver Oil Mask.
This is Powder Detox Edition
Described as being a repairing oil mask infused with flower petals and essential oils of vetiver, geranium, French lavender and marjoram, coming together these ingredients are said to instantly soothe, nourish and comfort the skin as well as helping to enhance skin’s resistance to the visible impact of environment, daily pressures and lack of sleep. The relaxing aroma helps detoxify the sensations of stress.

Then we have this cute little palette from Sleek and honestly, it is just so dinky.  Sleek i-Divine Palette in All Night Long is a mini version of the original Sleek palette and they still manage to include a tiny mirror in the lid!

This palette features 12 shades which are all cocktail themed when it comes to their names and there is a mixture of rich smokey nudes, sultry beiges, eye-catching golds and shimmering bronzes.

Oui Essential Hydrating Day Moisturiser from skinChemists is up next and whilst I have used a few products from the brand, this is new for me.

Described as being an intense moisturising formula that is blended with Tiare Flower Extract, which hydrates the skin whilst also soothing, repairing and purifying alongside Vitamin E which is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidising properties. The final ingredient worthy of a mention is Coconut Oil which not only offers additional hydration but it also helps balance dry, itchy and sensitive skin.

A brand I am really familiar with is Balance Me and this box has a 40ml sample of Pure Skin Face Wash. This face wash is described as being a sulphate-free, wash off cleanser that removes dirt and balances excess sebum.

If you are familiar with the brand then you will know that it will be packed some amazing ingredients. The Face wash uses anti-oxidant rich Spruce Knot and Grapefruit Oil which helps to purify the skin alongside both Aloe Vera and anti-inflammatory Moringa Oil which make Pure Skin Face Wash the ideal, gentle cleansing solution for blemish or acne prone skin.

Next up is a brand I have never come across before and that is Cougar Beauty. A quick search tells me that they are a UK based cruelty-free brand and have quite an extensive list of products.

The one within this box is the Hyaluronic Acid Facial Oil which is their best selling oil and it is said to help deeply moisturise and plump the skin, which leaves skin feeling firmer and fresher.  Anyone who knows their beauty products will know that both Water and Hyaluronic Acid are incredible ingredients for skincare.

Another brand that I am a huge fan of is Murad and I was delighted to see their Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum. Powered by Murad's 'Tri-Active technology' this potent formula works to quickly and visibly minimises the appearance of lines and deep wrinkles, whilst helping to firm and even skin tone, to reveal dramatically younger-looking skin.

As I have mentioned already, I am a huge fan of eye products and I am really looking forward to giving this a try.

The final item within this box comes from a brand called Blaq and it is a brand I have been getting to know over the past few weeks and have immediately loved it.

These Hydrogel Eye Masks are absolutely incredible and I have a full review coming on them soon. They contain activated charcoal and hyaluronic acid and work to reduce puffiness, detoxify skin and hydrate and for me, they are the absolute star of the box.

Finally, there was a selection of Pukka teabags, including their cleanse and detox blends and I think it is a nice little extra to have included within the box and an extra which also works with the box theme.

This was my first ever Powder Box and I am literally just so impressed with it.  Not only is there a theme for which each and every product fits, there is an incredible mixture of products from both high end and high street brands, some of which you will and some of which you won't recognise.  The best part is that this box it is worth £150 but is on offer right now for £30 here.
