Super Beauty Bath Fizzers

It is a well known fact by now (I hope) that I love a good hot bath.  For me it is all about relaxation, forgetting about my worries and troubles, continuing to read a good book and just having some me time.

Bath bombs, fizzers, ballistics or whatever you like to call them now come in all shapes, sizes and scents and I was kindly sent some Super Beauty Bath Fizzers to try.  Described as being products which are with the finest superfoods around so you can feed your skin exactly what it needs, I couldn't wait to give them a try.
Super Beauty Bath Fizzers
The first thing to note is how brightly coloured the packaging is and that each box contains not one but three bath bombs.
Feel the fizz and stimulate our senses with these deliciously fragranced Bath Fizzers.  A gentle burst of sweet fruitiness to cleanse your skin and help leave it irresistible and gorgeous.
I have been slowly working my way through each of the bath fizzers and of course any excuse to have a bath in the run up to Christmas when shoppers are flooding supermarkets panic buying loaves of bread and milk when all you want is some Pink Gin and not to have to queue for three days, sounds pretty good to me.
Super Beauty Bath Fizzers

In the first packet the three bath bombs are Mango, Lemon and Strawberry and all three of them are fragranced so beautifully and not at all synthetic and it is worth mentioning that they are paraben free.  Mango reminds me very much of the Mango body butter from The Body Shop - very fruity with a lovely sharp fresh scent.  Lemon is sharp and Strawberry which is my least favourite scent when it comes to anything bath related, is actually rather pleasant.
Super Beauty Bath Fizzers
In the second box there is Coconut, Vanilla and Pineapple bath fizzers.  For me, I adore the coconut scented one, it is very coconut like and smells just incredible once it comes into contact with the water.  Vanilla is the one I will hand over to the mister to use because as a scent, I am not a fan of anything overly Vanilla scented it gives me a headache so I stay clear of it.  Pineapple, which is a work colleagues favourite scent has been gifted to her and she absolutely love it and has been and bought a box for herself.

Far from being overpriced and overhyped, a box of three bath fizzers costs only £4.99 but if you are quick and get to Boots they are on offer for just £3.33 (here) and they are well worthy of their price tag and of course they would make a great stocking filler for anyone you still have left to buy for, a bath fanatic (like me) or just because you feel you deserve some down time, me time and some relaxation.

Olverum Bath Oil

If any of you know me at all, you will know that a nice long bath is my idea of bliss, so when the lovely PR at Olverum offered to send me out a luxurious Bath Oil, I was already planning what I could read while I soaked in the bath. For me, bath time is my chance to relax and escape the world for an hour or so, granted one of the kitties will want to be in the bathroom at the same time as me, but it is as close as I am going to get to me time.
Olverum Bath Oil
Olverum Bath Oil
Olverum Bath Oil
Olverum is a unique and highly concentrated, therapeutic bath oil which contains 10 pure essential oils, carefully blended to work synergistically and they include:
  • Siberian Fir Essence -
  • Lavendin
  • Eucalyptus
  • Lemon
  • Rosemary
  • Exotic Verbena
  • True Lavender
  • Lime
  • Juniper
  • Geranium
Putting all of these together you can probably see why an Olverum bath is a very effective way to naturally relieve stress and help you achieve a great nights' sleep. It is also a great way to ease aching or sore muscles and is the perfect soothing antidote to a cold or flu. All with a gorgeously aromatic, unisex scent.

For many years Olverum survived by word of mouth - a cult product known in the UK to only a small number of passionate devotees. Now beautifully re-packaged, yet still retaining the same formulation loved for over eight decades, Olverum recently relaunched under new British ownership.

So how did I get on with it? A few drops of this will have your bathroom smelling like a relaxing spa without being overpowering, In fact, even when I was in my lounge grabbing my kindle whilst the bath was running, I could smell it.

The fact that this is an oil would make you think this might feel a tad greasy on the skin, but actually, it's not in the slightest. It leaves your skin feeling soft yet supple, without any grease whatsoever. My feet were aching from being on them all day and head was a tad sore from a busy journey home (Londoners, you will feel my pain!) but this made me wind down instantly and soothed my feet too. It's a bit like a massage in a bottle!

Because this is a unisex fragrance, my hubby even likes it (note to hubby - I know where it is and I will be able to tell if you've used it!) so this would even be a great Christmas gift for both Women and Men.

Olverum is a relatively affordable luxury. The 125ml size is £29.00 and will be enough for 25 baths, the 250ml size is £53 and enough for 50 baths. The travel set is £19 and enough for 9 baths. Their main stockists are Liberty, Conran, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick.

If you're like me and live for a long bath at the end of the day, this will be right up your street!

Bramley Bath Salts with Lavender Flowers, Geranium and Spearmint

Bramley is a company that until now I have never come across. Made in the British countryside, they are a brand who believe in looking after our planet. All their essential oils are fair trade, wild crafted, grown sustainably and sourced carefully with integrity. The base ingredients are naturally derived from raw items such as sugar and coconut and our wax comes from soya. Created by Chloe (previously at Cowshed) all of the packaging can be recycled and all of the product ingredients are biodegradable, making Bramley safe for the environment as well as safe for your body.

I love having a bath, it is my me time (though one of the cats usually joins me and sleeps on the floor), my escape from the world for an hour or two and I try and ensure I have my bath time at least once a week.  I also love bath salts, I think they are very much underrated. The Bramley  Bath Salts with Lavender Flowers, Geranium and Spearmint smell just absolutely incredible and do make for that really relaxing bath.

Once the bath is running you simply add a handful to a warm bath and then just as the bath is half full, I always stir the water to ensure the salts dissolve. As soon as the essential oils come into contact with the hot water and steam, they release the most incredible scent and it quickly spreads through the house, whilst in the bath, merrily floating around are the Lavender flowers. Whether or not you are a fan of the Lavender scent, this is really quite a fresh scent, as though you have just walked through the Lavender fields and it is instantly relaxing. Geranium has quite an uplifting property and as well as helping to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety on the skin it helps to create balance between oily and dry skin. The final ingredient of Spearmint is the one you first notice and it is one that I find quite relaxing and stress-reliving.

The pot that these salts come in is a 250g one and they retail for £14.50 here and it is worth noting that these salts contain 100% natural botanicals and are no nasty chemicals or artificial colours and nothing is tested on animals.

The Daily Soothe Bath Float from Soap and Glory

I picked up The Daily Soothe Bath Float from a recent blog challenge and it is one Soap and Glory product I had not tried from the range.  I'm not going to lie, Sugar Crush is my absolute favourite scent from Soap and Glory and given that Bath Float is scented with Mist you Madly, my second favourite scent, I knew I was going to love it.

The Daily Soothe Bath Float from Soap and Glory

The Daily Soothe Bath Float from Soap and Glory

Described by Soap and Glory as "Our new super-soothing, pre-bedtime foamy tub float is seductively scented, intensely relaxing, delightfully deluxe with luxurious long-lasting suds and sleep-inducing, muscle-relaxing and aphrodisiacal actives" it does smell incredible and is a perfect treat for some self-indulgent bath time.

To use you Scoop up a handful of The Daily Smooth and then swirl it under warm running water until it bubbles up. As soon as it comes into contact with warm (not hot) water, the pink pearlesque liquid turns into foamy bubbles and quickly fills the bath.  If like me you like bubbles in your bath, the this will not disappoint, you get lots of them.  Once in the bath, surrounded by the scent of Mist you Madly and it does make you want to drift off right there and then, it is so relaxing.

This is a great edition to my bath time routine and even the mister has taken a liking to it (sadly) and costing just £8 for a 300ml tube, it lasts for ages.  So next time you are in Boots struggling to what buy on a 3 for 2 offer (ha as if) then take a look at Soap & Glory because this was the best buy for ages!

Drift Away - Temple Spa

Those who read my blog often enough will know how much I adore having a hot bath once or twice a week, a chance to relax and chill out whilst closing out the outside world, forgetting the stress and strain of the day whilst soaking up a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.
Drift Away - Temple Spa
Drift Away - Temple Spa
Drift Away - Temple Spa
Drift Away by Temple Spa is described as being a 'Relaxing Bathing and Massage Oil' which can be used on directly on the skin or added to a bath for instant calm and tranquility.
"The most luxurious chill-out treatment ever! DRIFT AWAY is a must for when you need to really wind down and have your moment of peace and calm. Applied straight onto the skin for an aromatherapy massage, or with a capful drizzled into the bathtub; these deliciously fragrant oils will help you chill out and relax, especially when you find it hard to switch off"

Not only does it sound amazing, it absolutely is. Firstly it is packed full of essential oils such as:

  • Dill Seed Oil which helps to overcome the feeling of being overwhelmed and it helps to ease the mind and calm headaches.
  • Frankincense which also has a wonderfully calming effect on the mind and is said to be an excellent oil for meditating
  • Jojoba Oil which has a structure that closely resembles that of your own skin sebum, making it an excellent moisturizer and ideal for all skin types.
  • Lavender Oil which is known for its ability to sooth and calm the nerves, relieve tension and nervous exhaustion in general. It is also one of my favourite scents for relaxation and I find it helpful for drifting off to sleep.
  • Geranium Oil which is described as being an uplifting oil which has a great all-over balancing effect on the mind and is said to help to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety
Add to those oils some Patchouli, Sesame, Myrrh, Galbanum, Avocado Oil and Petitgrain and you have something that is just absolutely amazing. All of those oils together create a scent which brings about instant relaxation, like the scent you get when you walk into a spa that specialises in aromatherapy treatments, it is just divine and when using it, all you need is a few drops into running bath water.

So if you are wanting to try something that is as relaxing and as wonderfully scented as Drift Away, then look no further than Temple Spa to purchase some for yourself.
